"Amaya told me that this happens often, and I experienced something kind of similar a few years back," Faust explains, removing the skeletons skull and gently polishing the forehead with his jacket sleeve. "You scuffed her, Manta! Anyway, I told her about Post Traumatic Stress disorder, and if you choose to, you could end these seizures, or at least minimize their effect on your life."

Shizuka looked at the pills. She just stared, confused for a little bit. Are these pill for peole who are mental?!?! I don't have any disorder!! The thought finally hit her. She may not know why she blacks out, but if it means using a med like this, she'd rather black out for a few centuries. Instead of being rude about it, Shizuka slightly pushed the med away and shook her head.

Faust sighs, lying down on his bed next to the skeleton. "Well... if you change your mind, mention these to your doctor. They'd probably help. Anyway... ich habe einen schlechter Schmerzkopf..." he mumbles. "Anyway, you should probably..." he stops talking mid-sentence, staring at Shizuka.
Manta creeps over, reaches over the skeleton, and closes Faust's eyes. "He's asleep," he explains to Amaya and Shizuka.

Shizuka stared for a little bit, soaking in the information before finally nodding. "I think we should leave him alone now." Amaya suggested, and her shaman nodded in agreement.

"There's probably more to eat, if you're still hungry," Manta suggests, opening the drawer of the bedside table. "Sorry, I have to make sure things are relatively safe in here..." he winces as he removes several scalpels, two knives, and a straight razor. "He's what we refer to as a 'restless sleeper.' He's one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet, but a bit of a hazard to himself."

Shizuka understood. A few of her old friends was the same way. But then they found out that she could see spirits, and one thing led to another. "You may want to move the drugs, too." Amaya suggested.

"I think he's responsible about those... and he only takes them when he's conscious. Unfortunately, he's been known to seriously hurt himself when he's ASLEEP. Especially lately; something's on his mind." Moving slowly, he reaches under Faust's pillow and carefully removes a pistol. "Maybe I should give this to Anna," he whispers.

"I think that's everything," Manta says, handling the pistol with extreme caution. "Jeez... the safety catch is off and everything... no matter how long he goes without sleeping, he generally only sleeps for five hours at a time. He must be really tired tonight, though, because he never eats or sleeps when people are watching. Speaking of eating, let's go grab some chow. I think Tamao worked pretty hard on this meal to welcome you."

Shizuka nodded, giving a half-hearted smile. She was happy that she was being welcomed like this. This sortof belonging had disappeared quite a long time ago. But she wasn't sure if everyone was okay. She wanted to help them all. She wanted to repay them for what they were doing, what they would do fo her. She had to remind herself that Horo promised to check with this "Silva" person to figure out why she wasn't tested. Shizuka was thankful for all of the kindness.

"Manta," Anna says shortly, "Where were you two? Dinner's almost gone."
"Checking on your 'pet doctor.' " Manta rolls his eyes, handing Anna the pistol. "Don't you think he's maybe a bit isolated?"
"No," Anna says automatically. "I'm not going to force him to share a room. He's an adult, Faust needs to have some dignity. By the way, Shizuka, we put you in the room two doors down. You have it to yourself, so move in whever you feel like it."

Shizuka gave a grateful smile and went to grab her bag and move in. I bet this is going to be awesome! she predicted telepathically. It feels great to be treated like this again! "But I always treated you like this, Shizuka."Amaya noted. You did, and I'm grateful that you're with me. After all, I wouldn't be here without you! It's just this is the firsttime that another person treated me like a human, and not a thing. Not that you don't count as a person or anything...

"Manta," Anna says, "Something occured to me. Tomorrow, Faust should take you and Shizuka fishing."
"Um... fishing?"
"Yes. It's a perfect opportunity for her to get to know him. And haven't you always wanted to go fishing with someone you look up to?"
"With my height, I look up to pretty much everyone," groans Manta. "Besides, I don't think Faust has ever even BEEN fishing. I've got no clue about Shizuka."

Shizuka settled into the new room quickly. All of her things were arranged in the room in where she saw appropriate for herself and so Anna wouldn't get mad (That is her name, right? Right. Oh, okay. I won't forget!). The last thing in the bag was a family portrait in a stand-up frame with her father torn out. She could never imagine her father and mother together anymore. She seemed to erase scenes with them from her memory, seeing only her mother in them, and very rarely, only her father, even though she knew that they were both there at these events.

There's a smart knock on Shizuka's door, and Anna pokes her head in. Glancing at the photograph, she seems a little less vicious than usual. "Do you have a nice wide-brimmed hat and comfortable clothes?" she asks. "I've asked Manta to force Faust to take the two of you fishing tomorrow."
