Vaakine grinned and manipulated the gravity around him so it was pushing inward. He smiled, and increased gravity, making the inward push an implosion, and incread the tempeture of his molecules to around 100 degrees c.

In a flash, Snow suddenly darted towards Jean in two strides as he then raised his right blade to thrust the lethal edge dangerously close to the opponent's left neck, but not close enough to draw blood. His left had then grabbed his own katana's left scabbard before jabbing it down to the ground in an slight incline as to act as a defensive measure against the swinging pole.
And with it, the left scabbard would now become an intruding object that would disrupt Jean's pole swing to some extent, not even close enough to attack his legs at all.

And if all this goes successfully without delay, Snow would retreat slowly back before getting serious this time.

Vaakine increased the heat inside the magnet/Gravity/Heat/ Mini-Sun to rival temperatures found in stars, and he increased the inward gravity 10fold.

It was a shame that his opponent had moved more closely to him, close enough for decapitation range at that. This would shorten the time it would take for the swing, which would have taken little time originally. The inside of the poll would hit almost as soon as the sweep had began, since the distance from the edge of Snow to the poll was now much narrower. Snow would not have enough time to threaten the decapitation then pull his katana out. Even if he did, the incline would go more than likely go up towards Snow, which, if the pole hit, would make it slam into Snow's midsection, knocking him down either way. His opponent never should have come closer, rather, he should have went further away.

With Snow most plausibly knocked down, Jean's pole would morph into a daikatana, about 5 feet long. This would be more than enough room for their two foot distance. Jean would grip the daikatana firmly with both of his hands, raise it up, and come down with blazing speed at Snow's right thigh, all within 3 seconds. Jean would have liked it to go much faster, but he decided to give his opponent a little more time to enjoy before losing a limb...

Atreyu had been used to the inward push of gravity, since he had had practice matches with the Captain who was an Air Elementalist. Although, the heat....the Lt. had been in deserts before, but nothing like the boiling temperature in this cacoon he was in. As the air grew denser and the temperature grew hotter by the milisecond, Atreyu tried to use his own Elementalist powers..."Gow," he spoke in a harsh voice, summoning the roots of the earth to spurt forth and grab ahold of his attacker's limbs as the skin on his hands began to bubble.

Vaakine grinned as the roots rotted and died. He increased the Gravity and heat further. "You shall, Become a Blazing Star!"

It's true that Jean did attack first, causing Snow to retaliate only when the attack is given. But for that timing, Snow had his katana out when he nonchantly pissed Jean off and whoever his master is with the blunt comment and questioning. And with the strike coming forth, Snow had done a simple thing to prevent being tripped and literally killed by such a simple strike.

His left hand was free of holding any object, so it was able to move faster than Jean's swing. And since that he had nothing better to do but to steady his left, still holding the unsheathed katana on the right, he was able to just merely grab his left hilt, and jam it into the ground along with the scabbard when Jean swung, blocking the attack before it could've proven fatal. Snow's own weapons were usually loosely equipped, so unholstering it along with the scabbard wasn't a problem in most situations. What was the problem was how to leave his scabbard free of battlemarks and...

Never mind...

But then again, the opponent does seem pissed off.....

And, if Jean didn't notice during his attack, Snow had only thrown the left scabbard down, never once making an action of unsheathing his left katana at all. And even if the pole rose up with the slight inclination from its momentum, it would have been met firmly against the tsuba guard which was standard equipment customized with all katanas, locking the pole in place before it could have been dangerously close to Snow's left midsection.

Long story short --
Snow merely unsheathed his right katana with the right hand, and jammed his entire left scabbard into the ground consecutively when Jean then swung the pole hard at him. Closing his body quickly to Jean's position with the two strides before would allow him a easier method to strike hard at Jean's defenseless torso, as well as startling the opponent with the absurd close up encounter.

And now, if Jean was aiming to knock him down during the attack, Snow had no choice but to interfere with it again prematurely, with another method. By unsheathing the left blade halfway in response to Jean's - possible - overpowering of strength, he would leave the impaled scabbard onto the ground as he unsheathed the left katana at the moment of contact, allowing it more distance to block the damage it can or could initially do to him by Jean's pole.

And with the right blade at standby, Snow can slash upwards with the blade at Jean's chest or any other positions on the opponent's upper left body if he pushed the blade down fast enough.

But unfortunately, both of Snow's blades were reverse blades, which meant that the lethal edge was the blade's back, not the front edge. It is also to mention that at this close range, Snow's blades won't do much damage potential at all, since katanas need room to attack. Yet to keep Jean on the guard, Snow will only perform a horizontal slash at Jean's left torso, using the dull end as the attack.

Humming an upbeat tune, Baylu headed back to her house with a small paper bag of foods in her arms. She was going to make some good stir fry for the boys for all their hard work making the bar. Shifting the bag into her left arm, she opened the door...

With not even an exclamation of surprise or a stunful moment at the scene displayed in her living room, Baylu struck her arm out at the stranger in her home. Coming from her hand was a highly packed air blow that traveled at the speed of light and heading directly at the stranger's throat. It would not kill him, but render him unconcious. Baylu was not one to kill without quesiton.

Vaakine was knocked unconscious, and the Death Field of Dom (Trademark:Baylu Eras) was down. But Atreyu was still on fire. And his body had been mashed into some kind of ball thing. Kai, Ohgami, and Vallis were all there, albeit unconsious.

Dropping the bag of food and grabbing the vase of flowers on the coffee table, Baylu dumped what water that was in there on Atreyu's body. She then pulled down the curtains, repeatidly hitting the flames on Atreyu's mangled body. As the flames died down, she ran into the bathroom to fill the tub with cold water.

Upon re-entering the living room, she noticed Ohagmi and Vallis laying on the floor. Are they all unconcious? Baylu asked herself as she ran over to check on them. She did this all while paying close attention to the uknown attacker lying on the floor as well. His body was the last Baylu walked over to. Lifting the hood away from his face, she saw...

Vaakine's face, fully awake and smiling. "Hello Baylu. Sorry about the mess." He looked at Atreyu, then read her mind, then at Atreyu again. "Why is there always a Love triangle? Kai likes Baylu, Atreyu likes Baylu, Baylu loves the emperor." Vaakine sighed and stood up. "Name's Vaakine. I come from the Confederacy's Frightener team, just like Kai, Ohgami, and Vallis."

Erie, but happy it wasn't something evil and grosteque, Baylu smiled back and sat on the floor. "I thought, this would be Atreyu's fault....He would be one to attack a stranger without questions," she told the friendly face not too sad about the mess.

Putting on a distasteful face, Baylu closed her eyes in annoyance. "That's not how it is at all," Baylu said before standing up. "The emperor just thinks he can have whatever he wants," she explained walking over to Atreyu and wrapping the curtains around his arms. Picking him halfway up off the floor, Baylu began to drag him to the tub. "Did you have to be so rough with him?" she asked while grunting under the strain of Atreyu's body weight. As slender as Atreyu looked, his weight was a lot heavier than Baylu thought it would be. She could just simply use her element to lift him into the tub, but she didn't like rely on the air for everything.

Vaakine smiled. "Well, actually, he made motions to attack me. And I sensed him having hostile feelings towards Kai. So I acted in self defense. But we have a bigger problem. Ideon is free." Vaakine pointed his hands towards Kai, Ohgami, and Vallis. They woke up. "Soo. Lemme guess. Ideon is free?" Vaakine nodded, Kai sighed. "This tournament just got Interesting." Vaakine grinned. "Baylu, I belive I have a way for you to get out of your engagement to the emperor."

Not unsheathing the blade would be his first mistake. Once the pole couldn't move, Jean immediately thought of a way to take full advantage of this. His morphing poll would transform as soon as it hit the tsuba guard, this time into a daggertail that was on extent of 7 feet long, almost a 4 foot improvement over the poll. The new length of the daggertail would wrap around the tsuba guard. Once wrapped and hooked by the sharp edges of the blade, Jean moved his right arm to the right in a hard manner, flinging the katana well out of Snow's reach before he could fully unsheath it. Even if he managed to be quicker, his hands would touch the sharp daggertail, and at that speed, would hurt quite a lot. If he would try to get it, Jean would have ample time to successfully slash at him, and perhaps even get rid of an arm or two.

Jean did not bother countering the slash, and wouldn't even if it wasn't a reverse blade. The blade would hit the side of his steel curiass and would not penetrate it; his armor was enchanted and would require much more strength before it would be penetrated. Jean would turn around after this, smirking. He would duck his head and toss the daggertail in a counterclockwise manner starting from the right, aiming for what would be Snow's upper left pectoral muscle. He would not go deep enough for it to penetrate to the heart, just for a quick slash. After the first swing, he would come back around, making a down and to the left diagonal slash, entering on Snow's left torso, going across the abdomen, and exiting at the extreme outside of Snow's right thigh. He would then pull the daggertail back, waiting...
