TableTopWatch Haar stared at the woman as if he was truly disbelieving she was even there. Simply staring, lips parted slightly, for a moment or so before Ceris rather gently nudged his friend out of the way so he could explain (to the best of his knowledge) what was wrong. Apparently Peyton had other ideas though and cut off whatever the mage was going to say with a blunt, but still pained, "I was stabbed...i-in my leg," he started, brows furrowed as he pointed to the large, deep gash that tore through his upper leg. "...with a lance," he added in a mutter, hands clenched into tiny fists as he tried to continue. "It...it hurts a-and-" He couldn't quite finish, much to his obvious frustration. He looked up towards the kind enough looking healer with almost frightened blue eyes as Ceris attempted to explain why exactly they had needed expert help such as the woman's.
"I believe the lance had some sort of curse on it...his woundd won't heal, I-I mean it's stopped bleeding but that's it...and it's so deep, it shouldn't hurt anyway. I've tried to speed up the healing process, I've tried to numb the area, nothing works- it's as if there's some sort of barrier," he tried to explain, still unsure what exactly was wrong with the boy.
Haar stood off to the side, leaning against the wall with an expressionless face. He swore if Alti's mother couldn't do anything for the boy he wasn't sure what he'd do...but right then he simply had to stay...had to stay out of thinga for once because even though he was sure Peyton wouldn't mind his company he really didn't have much knowledge with healing past being able to identify broken bones and the like. Allora frowned, peering intently at the wound, her nose only an inch or so away from the boy's skin. "A curse... yes, most likely... Have you questioned the people who inflicted the wound? I should hope you at least managed to catch them..." She asked no questions as to whom had inflicted the wound, deciding now was not the time to pry. She reached into a small delicate pink-white hand bag with one white-gloved hand and searched around until she found a smaller bag, which she opened. A heavy scent of sharp and subtle herbs filled the room, seeming to sharpen the air around her. "Makes thinking easier," she muttered slightly in explanation. It also usually helped sooth patients, but she didn't mention this, doubtful that such a trifle would be much help with a wound like this. "This will hurt, you understand... hmm, I don't even know your name, so I suppose I'll have to call you Edward." She carefully took off one of her gloves, placing it carefully in her purse, before she began to examine the wound more closely, ocasionaly prodding something, but mostly just running her hand lightly along the area, mere ghost touches that could still be quite painful with such an injury. She had, at some point, pulled out a pair of small spectacles and had placed them on her nose as she gazed at the wound. Finally, she straightened up. "Right... well, I'll see what I can do. I trust you have an herb garden? I came ill-prepared, as you can see," she said, gesturing down to her court dress and small hand bag, her pale face showing just how little she thought of those things.

Sniffing the air lightly, Haar gave Alti a rather confused, slighty perturbed expression. He would admit that he was still quite angry over the fact that the younger man lied to him, but he doubted he would voice such anger in front of his mother...who was here to help Peyton. He couldn't even trust opening his mouth at that point, so he just kept it closed, lowering his eyes towards the ground.
Upon hearing the name bestowed upon him, the blonde looked up sharply with a slight frown. "It's...Peyton," he struggled out, his voice squeaking slightly as the woman's touch became a bit more aggressive before returning to the managable whispery examinations. He wasn't sure exactly who had done this. He couldn't see very well when it had happened and if Ceris had said anything to him as to who had done it he was sure he wouldn't have remembered anyway.
Haar cursed himself inwardly. Why hadn't he gotten up that morning and questioned Xel first thing? He could've done that instead of wander around the castle in thought about if his apprentice would be okay or not...Although he knew from a guard's report that the men were all still quite unconscious he could have at least tried to get something out of him... Hands stiff at his sides, the young commander answered Allora's question from across the room, still leaning against the wall carefully. "Yes, we captured the men, as far as we know, who were involved with the attack on our castle last night- including the man who did this," he replied in an almost diplomatic voice. His stature crumbling slightly, Haar sighed aloud, "Unfortunately we have had yet to question any of them extensively about this specific situation," he added, red eyes still lowered.
Ceris looked delightfully pleased with himself. If anyone could help Peyton it was this very woman in their presence! He had complete an reassured hope that everything would be fine. Answering with a smile and a nod, holding up the bowl of herbs he had already picked, he murmured, "Why yes, we do," before standing up to allow the grand healer better access to the young teen. If he was from any other country he might've been offended that she would ask such a question, because herb gardens and clerics were so common elsewhere... but unfortunately it was an appropriate question for their fire kingdom. He was one of the castle's highly regarded clerics, as well as a skilled mage...and yet he hadn't even studied healing to any great extent.

"Well, I was never really encouraged to pry into the matter. But some of my more brash teachers would claim it was the effects of sleeping around too much.." he said, lowering his voice slightly. It made sense, but he wouldn't go about admitting he believed what those hateful teachers told him. With so many flowing rumors left and right, he didn't really know what was truth and what wasn't.

Sayael shook his umber-haired head, the charm in his hair tinkling slightly as he did. "Even if she had wanted to - which I doubt - she never would have been able to... she was guarded very heavily - after all, she was to marry the king..." He sighed, eyes closing. "Some men from the Earth Kingdom abducted her... What they did is quite easy to guess... She came back several months later with amnesia, no voice and pregnant. Father hunted the men down and had them killed..."

She looked through the bowls and nodded. "That should be fine for now... I may need to get some more later..." She frowned slightly, searching through her small purse again before she found a small tube. She opened it and spilled four small white ball about five millimeters in diameter each. "Arnica. Edward, if you would opene your mouth, please..." She quickly tipped her hand so the small beads could slip into his mouth. "Don't chew them, let them disolve under your tongue... Let's see..." She examined the wound again, this time with the assurance that the limb would be sufficiently numbed - in smaller wounds, it could make the pain go away intirely and begin the healing process, but she couldn't be sure with this one. "I can't do too much until I know what is going on... I'll have to examine him more thuroughly and you," she said, adressing Haar, "will have to use some of this," she tossed a bag of herbs towards the military man, "to waken the men. They're limbs will be numbed by it so they won't be able to move much, other than speach." Her voice was brisque and snappish and she never halted in her examination as she spoke. Finally, she sent out some magic that would help bind the wound. She had put some herbs inside before closing it with the strongest binding magic she knew. Her fingers laced together the wound as if she were physically stitching it together rather than mentally urging skin and tissue to knit back together.

Peyton almost hesitated at the odd name the woman kept calling him, opening his mouth only after her hand silently urged him to do so. Blue eyes scrunched up slightly at the feel of the tablets. Being nearly forced to take them, the boy almost gagged as he let them dissolve properly in his mouth, feeling a tingly, cool sensation flow through his leg. Once he could talk again, the boy stared up with a slightly confused, if not curious, expression, "W-what...are you going to... do?" He asked with a great amount of uncertainty about this supposed 'thorough examination.'
Haar looked up quickly, catching the small satchel of herbs with ease before he nodded, murmuring a thank you as he left, turning crimson eyes towards Alti for a moment. He would've asked him to come, since he didn't have much to do at the moment, but he felt...he felt that even taking the time to talk to him would hold up the others even more. he didn't want to do that, so he left without asking anything of the younger man.

She looked up at the boy and smiled reasuringly. "Nothing much. If it's going to hurt, I'll tell you, but it most likely won't. Anyway, this is all I can do before we get something out of those men." She seemed irritated and kept on checking the something on the boy's leg, as if she were expecting something different. Her hands were cool and gentle, little more than soft touches of wind. She stood up finally and looked over at Alti, who had been sculking in the corner. "Did you do anything to get Edward injured?" she asked peevishly. He shook his head, but didn't say anything, feeling almost as if his mouth were glued shut.

It was easy enough for Dax to piece together the ending of the story. "And you're the conceived child." It wasn't a question. "You know, I would half way expect your father to try to rid your mother of you.. Kill the fiends as well as their creation." Then again, he didn't know Sayael's father. He could never guess what action he wanted to take. A light snow began to fall and the blonde let the flakes fall freely on his face. Slowly, he turned his eyes upon the other. ".. Do you love him? Your father."

Sayael shrugged. "I doubt he would have. He loved her too much to destroy her only child and she made it plain she would never have another. All my siblings are only half-siblings. Mother doesn't seem to mind, at least..." He looked up, opening his eyes, at the other's words. He chose his words carefully. "My father was executed before I ever met him... But if you mean the king, well... He is very... kind to me. He never treated me less or any more for my birth - I was the same, which was better than any special treatement he might have tried to give me. So I'm greatful..."

[[...Edward. x3]]
It didn't take long for Haar to reach the guarded entrance to the makeshift dungeon of sorts. Pushing past the guards with a forceful expression, bag slung over his shoulder, the young man was soon in the presence of four unconscious men. Crouching down to examine what exactly was in the bag, haar sighed heavily. He had forgotten to ask the woman what he was supposed to do with the herbs. He doubted it was the mere aroma of them, or else he'd be paralyzed as well... Unlocking the chamber tha held the men, a few herbs in hand, the young man threw them to the ground experimentally...
Nothing happened.
The men lay still against eachother, looking almost peaceful even though burns and bruises marred their features. Rolling his red eyes, Haar picked up the plants once more and crouched down towards Xel. He looked the worst...there was a terrible gash that Haar hadn't seen the night before as well as a large bruise against the side of his head and back of his neck. The gash reminded him of his own neck injury. he had completely forgotten about it untol just then, a careful hand brushing slightly against the bandages Ceris had insisted upon putting there. Rubbing the herbs just under the man's nose, Haar waited for something anything to happen. Maybe it was just the itense smell of the herbs but the green haired man's brown eyes slowly fluttered open.
Waiting a minute or two for the man to stop demanding what in the world was going on, "What did you do!?" Haar took a few careful steps backwards as he started his questioning. Picking up the man's discarded lance, Haar's red eyes widened... The lance had nothing to do with this... the man had gashed Haar with the lance and yet he had experienced nothing of Peyton's symptoms...
"What did you do to my apprentice last night? I swear if you do not tell me I will kill you all," Haar sneered, a wave of concern washing over him. They had thought that such magic could only have been from a weapon of some sort... such powerful magic had to have been focused and thus amplified in an object, but they had been wrong...and it almost frightened him just how powerful Xel was, even if at the moment he was still on the ground, unable to move save for his face.
The brown eyed man sighed a tired sigh. There really was no use in hiding what he had done now, he really couldn't risk dying right then...and so he explained what curse he had aimed at the boy's stab wound. "You see," he continued, "I knew you'd think it was something only a weapon could hold...which would elminate many things- which I'm sure Ceris knew, It was a death curse, if you must know. I killed the surrounding tissue and the like so it couldn't easily be healed by ordinary measures," he murmured with a satisfied smile.
Haar turned his scowl towards the door, "Thank you," he muttered, picking up the bag of herbs and locking the barred door before he left to explain what the curse was to Allora. Once he was back inside the training hall, the young man set down the small bag with a pleasant expression as he explained what Xel had told him.

"Well, if he used Death magic, then we should try... Earth or Light - used, of course, in unison with healing..." She frowned. She was no mage other than healing and a bit of Storms, but that was her heritage. "Alti," she snapped finally. He looked up, groaning inwardly. "Yes?" "You've been taught those, yes?" He shook his head but then, prompted by the look his mother gave him, added, "But I've practiced some on my own... With all kinds of magic," he said softly. "It won't be as good as having one with heritage from one of those kingdoms, but it'll probably be better than nothing," he said with a small shrug. He then looked up at Ceris. "Would you know either of those?" he asked, brow furrowed. It would be much easier if he didn't have to do it on his own...

Peyton looked almost panicked as Haar explained what had gone wrong with his leg. A d-death...curse? Those things were powerful...and- holding a hand up to his head, the boy sighed lightly, he'd be okay though, he hoped at least.
Ceris looked slightly relieved at the means of breaking the curse. Although he had lived most of his life in the fire nation he was only here by means of adoptive parents. Although no one knew his exact heritage he was found in the light kingdom as in infant, and excelled in that area of magic far more than anything else. Thankfully he had been taught fire magic at an early age was nearly as gifted in that area of magic as well so he had led a relatively suspicion-free life.
"Mn, I've studied both. I'm no expert in earth magic but I'm sure it's better than nothing," the young mage murmured, muave eyes darkening slightly at the thought of someone who could possibly... Xel was a complete master at earth magic, but...no, he was not their..their friend anymore. He wasn't his- Sternly shoving the half thought from his mind, the mage turned his gaze downward. He supposed that if given the chance he would try to kill either Haar or...or even himself... Sighing lightly at the thought, the young man looked up with a feigned smile, "So, what do you want us to do?"

"I want us to pool our magics together... I'll take care of healing, and Alti and you can choose who does Earth and who does Light. Have you ever cast magic in a group? I know I've taught my son... there are often times when we have to divert large natural occurances in our Kingdom and it can take many people..." She frowned. "We'll have to link physically, but that should only take a touch of hands... But you will have to make an effort to help unify the three different types of magic... we all will... Do you think you're up to that?" Her eyes scanned the mage, noting his appearance's difference from that of Haar's. Her mouth almost twitched into a smile, but she turned back to Edward before the motion was completed. Alti had, at some point, moved to stand behind her and he looked back at Ceris, gesturing for him to join them.

Haar felt out of place in the room, eyes grazing the wooden floor. He wanted nothing more than to rush back to the dungeons and kill Xel where...where he lay, but he knew Ceris would have a fit and probably lightly poison him if he attempted to kill the traitor. Xel had been nice in previous years, he had been a good friend, a challenge to spar with...and yet...Haar would never understand what the young mage saw in Xel romatically. He supposed that there was just another side to the green haired man that he would never see, nor did he really want to see...he had seen enough when Xel was still his friend.
He remembered only catching part of their conversation, he still didn't think he'd ever ask Ceris just what they had been talking about...not like he'd remember though, or so Haar assumed. He honestly couldn't remember why he had just...stood there, outside the training room's door (there had been a door back then) instead of waltzing right in like he always did. What...had stopped him?
"...no, I don't think that's it," he had heard Ceris murmur, most likely fidgeting with his clothes or hair as usual.
"Well, why not? It's a flawless plan if I do say so myself," Xel retorted, sounding just as cocky as ever. Haar had just stood there, behind the door, listening for a moment or so until he thought they had stopped talking. He hadn't heard much more, Ceris was saying something else, but just stopped... so then the would be commander walked in, knowing he wouldn't be interupting their conversation anymore. He would have never imagined he would be interrupting something much more important to the two.
Shuddering at the thought, Haar brought a hand to his temple. The very thought of his former best friend and his current one together in such a way made his skin crawl...Of course that had been years ago...
Pulling dark lavender hair out of just as dark amythest eyes, the mage straightened from his spot against the wall to meet the others with a smile. "Sounds fine to me. I've haven't done any group magic in a while but I have at least done it before," he explained while turning to Alti, "What do you feel more comfortable with? Earth or light?"

"Nnnn... Earth. I'm terrible with Light since I never really practiced it much. Earth came more easily, most likely because I've been to that kingdom more.... It's much closer to my own magic... it's just another part of nature..." He reached out a hand and set it on the mage's shoulder, his other hand already heald firmly in his mother's - something he would never allow in other circumstances. She had reached out and now had a hand touching the boy's leg. The magic began slowly. It was hard, at first, but became steadily easier as more and more magic flowed into the wound. It might have taken hours, days, but felt instead only like seconds. The magic drifted through the boy, correcting or attatching and healing until everything they could find had been healed. It came slowly to an end, the flow ceasing as she removed her hand from Peyton's leg and Alti dropped both his hands.
