SpaceTerminal Destiny Gho the Girl SpaceTerminal Destiny I realized the one thing that infuriates me the most in Gaia's forums. Those people who don't give a s**t about anything environmental and are ridiculously selfish. Who say because they're not going to have any children or they'll die anyways, that what is the point on doing anything environmentally friendly. I don't think I've ever seen a person so persistent on drinking and buying water bottles. Just because they "taste" better. What a ********. scream scream but. . . they do taste better than tap water . . . just sayin *sips* *HISSES AT GHO* Water is one of the essentials of human life and people care about the ******** taste?!?! Sometimes tap water tastes bad. Food is an essential of human life, who care's about ******** taste? Sir, you're speaking to a culinarian. Taste is immensely important to one such as myself.

Taste is important, but there are better ways to get better taste without wasting the resources (or at least minimizing the waste).

*clings to her KleenKanteen* I do miss fijiwater though.
I've been trying to simplify, and one thing that happened because of it was really changing a few things about me. I'm slowly working my way into natural living, I do what I can. I can't wait until we make enough that I can start doing more.

Same here. You will never get be to stop enjoying wood smoking. Do I care about the way water tastes? Sure, that's why I have a charcoal filter on my tap. But I still drink tap water.

Instead of hissing at Gho, you could try to offer her ways to achieve better taste in her water without having to resort to bottled water.

I do, but I don't see it as realistic to expect people to completely discard taste for the sake of sustainability, to be perfectly blunt.

Telling people to suck it up because "who gives a ******** about taste" is ridiculous and will achieve you nothing. Showing me how I can have something that tastes great while saving the environment? Then you're serving both worlds, and everyone can get behind that. I could get into how salt gathered by Islanders helps them feed their families and also is WAY better than normal salt as an example. It's more sustainable too, as (I beleive) they get their salt from the sea as opposed to a mine.
