Yes, I’ve watched film adaptations of plays, such as Romeo + Juliet. I prefer films because they offer close-ups and diverse settings, which add depth to characters and scenes that a stage may not provide. The visual storytelling in film feels more immersive to me.

I also enjoy films more than plays, in my opinion films are more realistic. Plays should feel more close and intimate, but for me watching someone on a screen feels realer. I do love the excitement and momentum of seeing a play/live show though.

4. Just my opinion, I’ve always found operas to be silly, but I understand why some people love them. As for ballet, it has always been something I love watching. My mom always loved them so we would watch ballet performances online and they are always so beautiful.

I could understand why you see opera as silly, and I also understand why some see the appeal in opera. I have never seen an opera myself, but I would want to witness an opera one day. Also, I agree with you, ballet is an art thats beautiful and peaceful.

I have never attended a professional drama performance. The last play I read was in English class. It wasn't really my thing. I have never seen a musical drama. I'm not really sure if I like them or not. I don't have much experience if at all. I've seen an adaption, I enjoyed watching more as it seemed like a movie and more entertaining.

• Have you ever attended a professional drama performance? Which type of drama was it (play, opera, musical, dance)?
- I have never attended a professional drama performance in my life. Plays, operas, musicals, etc have never really been my thing. Maybe it's just a matter of finding what I like, but I have never put much interest into them. From the little i've been exposed to with these plays that are assigned to this class, I can say they are interesting.

What is the last play you read? Did you enjoy it?
- This past week I have read numerous plays in order to get my Drama Analysis Essay done. Some I have actually finished reading and others become boring so I just skip to the next one. However, the one I enjoyed the most was "The Cuban Swimmer" by Milcha Sanches-Scott. I felt the emotions and was able to compare myself with that play. I definitely enjoyed it.

Have you ever seen a musical drama? What type of musical was it? Do you enjoy musicals?

This is going to be a very short answer because no I have not seen a musical drama in person. As I mentioned in the earlier post, these type of performances have never been my thing. I remember in high school they would always do musicals. However, I stayed away from them since I did not enjoy them.

What is your experience with opera and ballet?

- I have very little knowledge with opera and ballet. I recall growing up my sister would dance ballet and have her end-of-the-year performances but I never attended them. Now that I am learning more about this topic I would give these performances a try and see what they are really about.

Have you watched a film / TV adaptation of a play? Which format did you enjoy most, and why?

-I have not watched many film or tv adaptions of a play. But I can tell you I've seen a few clips as part of my assignments back in high school. An example would be Romeo and Juliet. I know it's originally a stage play but I did watch it as a movie and it helped me understand it much better because it has visuals and settings.
Personally I enjoy the film version better because I understand it more.

I have watched the show Hamilton both in-person and through the Disney+ streaming service. I found the streamed performance to be better because it is the original cast. I feel like nobody plays a better Hamilton than Lin-Manuel Miranda!

That’s a great point, seeing the original cast on Disney+ definitely adds something special. Lin-Manuel Miranda brings so much energy and emotion to Hamilton. Even though live shows are exciting, the streamed version captures those iconic performances perfectly.

If school plays count, then yes, I've seen a professional drama performance.
Unfortunately, I can't remember the last play I've read. It was most likely Romeo & Juliet
I have seen musical dramas before but nothing major.
I know what opera and ballet are, but I have never attended a show
I haven't watched any film or play adaptations yet.

The last memorable play for me also probably is Romeo & Juliet. I think its nice that you know somewhat about dramas, operas, and ballets because I personally didn't know much. I highly recommend checking out some of the adaptions because it is very interesting seeing the contrasts between the two.

I have attended a drama performance before, but sadly I don't remember it very well, it was on a cruise many years ago when I was younger. The last play that I read was Fences by August Wilson, it was a little vulgar but I still enjoyed it. I have seen a little bit of Heathers, I still have to finish watching it someday, but I do enjoy musicals. Sadly, I have no experience with opera nor ballet. Mamma Mia was the last film adaptation of a play that I have seen, I really enjoyed it.

Yes, I attended a professional performance of Hamilton, which is a musical. The mix of historical storytelling and modern music was really ineresting. It was my first time seeing a Band production live, and the energy, lighting, and choreography made it an unforgettable experience.

I have not had much experience with opera or ballet, but I have seen a recorded performance of The Nutcracker ballet. I was impressed by the storytelling through movement and music. Opera seems more intense and emotional, though I haven’t watched one fully. i would give them a another try in the future.
