"But to change things, is to change the hearts and minds of people by force. Free will is the greatest gift given to any race, even if we don't always use it wisely," Miyuki didn't mind that he corrected her.
She was Gaian, sometimes it was hard to remember there was only one and then many teachers as compared to possibly being way too many in Gaia.
The kitsune continued, "Anyways, I don't think that was the intention, otherwise there wouldn't be so many different people..."
Though she had to admit, she was confused by why they made it so people would lose their magic if they married another race. That only seemed to encourage that separation, even though Caras Galadhon had proved to be the exception to that rule. Maybe that was the point? If there was one person you couldn't ask that was one of the Valar.
"At any rate, I'm getting off topic," Miyuki waved her hand in front of her face as if to wave off the current topic, "What I was trying to say is, while others may treat you like you've treated others, you can also prove them wrong by going out your way to connect with them and treat them as you wish to be treated. Yes, not everyone is going to even talk to you, they may even scorn you and jeer at you, but we all have to make that first move somewhere otherwise nothing changes."
Miyuki idea before her stage growth had been a seed so she could earn money and help everyone out. After she grew, seeing other people try to pickup their lives that seed grew into something else. Yes, she still wanted to make her way in life, but she wanted something else. She wanted to show people the joy of the outside world, and maybe, just maybe people might start thinking well of others.
Besides she was the only kitsune in a world full of elves and humans, she was going to have to connect to people first anyways.

Mailon nodded thoughtfully. He had never considered that before. Free will. Something that was so taken for granted ...
"You give me much to think about," he said at last. "I am grateful. Being in one place for so long is ... not easy. But to have something to think about, a goal to achieve ... thank you. I do not know how I might go about this, though."
He smiled sheepishly at her. "Speaking with others ... does not come easily to me. Even without connecting."
He had never been able to speak with people. That was one of the reasons he had always been alone, even when he had lived with his people. Been the most important man in the village. The one that was most looked up to.

"That's alright," Miyuki grinned, "It takes practice. It's just, it's all I've ever known being around mom and ada."
She had been traveling since she was a baby like her brother, though she noted her brother was no where near as social as everyone else. Eron had mentioned that was somewhat normal, he had to learn instead of pick it up.

Mailon nodded again. "Your parents do seem ... quite talkative," he admitted with a faint smile. "You are very like them. I don't think it matters to you if people don't feel talkative, or if they don't wish to speak with you, does it? Somehow you will manage to elicit a response, if not a full conversation."
He didn't understand how they did it, he would never understand how they did it; all he knew was that they did it.

The kitsune chuckled at this, quite pleased with that point. After that, she stayed a bit longer to talk with Mailon. She found it enjoyable even if he didn't do well in talking as it were.
She promised to try and continue to visit. Though the next few weeks were a whirlwind, she did manage somehow. Between visiting, finding supplies for her project and making her project she was often busy.
Finally though she was done and decided as she crackled internally with glee, that is was how a mad scientist must feel like. The tent was fairly standard, except it was a round tent 'decorated' with runes. Runes for protection, runes against fire, and Miyuki figured one day she would add runes that would give intruders a nasty shock but that hadn't been her to-do list.
Heck, the 'house' wasn't even fully finished, it had all the basics, but until Miyuki could figure out the limits that she could manipulate an alternative space, there would always been room for improve. Still, this was great. Entering the tent would bring people to a large room with three doors, one in front, one on the left and one on the right. She intended for this to be a kitchen of sorts and put her runed food storage boxes in here.
The door on the left led a hallway that had all the sleeping quarters, and the only way to tell the doors apart was by the numbers she had put on them. The door on the right led a living room of sorts, because she thought all homes should have a living room. The door in the front led to another hallway, but there was only one door, which was where Andarien's forge was to be. She hoped one day to add bathing rooms (somehow), and one never knew if you needed more hallway.
Not that she had to worry, the oddest thing about the home (to anyone not Gaian), was that it looked like the inside of a Japanese home. So much of the walls looked like rice paper screen doors, that could slide open. It also meant that if you weren't looking carefully you might miss a door.
While the kitchen, hallways and living room were wood, the forge floor was stone and the bedrooms had springy mats made out of reeds.
Miyuki had done this for two reasons, the first was that the design allowed her to add more doors, and by extension, room with rooms if she really had to. The other was just for looks, since they couldn't afford bed frames, Miyuki instead commissioned someone to make futons, guessing what sort of pattern they might like on it while she was at it.
It was actually the reason why it took her weeks. With her teacher and Cael's help it took actually less time than that, but the money required for the futons needed to be earned. There was still no table or chairs or anything like that for the kitchen or living room, and the place was pretty bare, but Miyuki figured as they traveled they could fix that.

While Miyuki was so busy for all those weeks working on the mobile home for everyone, other things were being accomplished as well. Shoneah had begun hunting with Daeron, Kyrie and Wren, and though their discomfort had been evident the first few times she'd eaten the hearts of the creatures she'd killed, none of them had said anything negative, only assured her that it was fine, and then they had grown used to it. After that, Shoneah let herself enjoy the hunts with the others.
Andarien eventually forgot about the incident at least enough that he was willing to practice archery with Shoneah once she had her own bow again, and in his spare time he kept working on a design that he refused to show anyone, saying that he wasn't sure if it would work and that he wasn't going to tell anyone about it until he made the item in question - which would take a while of course, considering that he still had no forge to use. He did also train with his Pokemon, though it was noted by several that he did let Kaede spend quite a bit of time playing with Amir - who, though he was still not talking or even trying to, had begun giggling lately, especially when playing with the playful Leafeon.
Earendil was frustrated by his inability to join the hunts, but he tried not to let it get to him. Instead, he spent his time poring over the maps that Kyrie had provided him with, learning about the lands around them, and asking Kyrie about the route they would eventually be taking. Of course, he also spent quite a bit of time with Lin, and even though he couldn't hunt he didn't want to let his skills get rusty, so he practiced with her as well.
Lancaeriel and Cael, aside from helping Miyuki, spent a lot of time alone together, though they always made sure they were around for Lancaeriel to help with meals. She also provided musical entertainment, especially in the evenings when people just enjoyed relaxing.
Wren enjoyed her time hunting, but she also spent time in the city, and with the money she earned selling the meat from the animals they hunted - since they needed so many furs, their group couldn't eat all of the meat - she combed the city's shops, carefully searching for things to help out those back at the camp, or souvenirs for herself, or gifts for her family back home. Still, she was very careful in what she spent, and rarely came back with anything at all.
Iorlas spent her days caring for Amir, learning how to cook better from Lancaeriel, tailoring for herself, Amir and Daeron, and keeping an eye on the boy while he played. Amir was growing very well, and in the course of those few weeks even his hair grew quite a bit longer. He had started playing with Daeron's things when Daeron wasn't looking, so Daeron had made him some toy weapons to play with, in the hopes that when the boy was older, he would show some interest in learning to use real ones. Of course, that time was a long way off, but he wasn't going to let Amir use his weapons now, and this was the best substitute.
Kaito was Kaito, the walking paradox. Lazy and bursting with energy. Insanely busy or doing absolutely nothing. He was still helping Andarien with his kenjutsu, but he was usually pestering Shiro if anyone.
Shiro still spent his time researching anything that entered into his mind to research. Using his tablet, he had long since begun an encyclopedia of the world of Arda, and he was continuously creating entries and filling them with as much information as he could get his hands on, including photos of the items in question. He also managed to finally get an answer back from Ura about Suki's new and unexpected form: Sylveon was a newly discovered evolution of Eevees, even back in Gaia, and it seemed that it was one of the types newly classified as Fairy. Apparently Fairy types were particularly strong against Dragon type Pokemon, and Shiro wondered if that would translate into Suki being a very effective defender against actual dragons as well, since they had discovered that dragons were a very present threat in this world.
Overall, it was a very productive time for everyone, and by this point they were beginning to make plans for traveling again. Not that they expected to be leaving soon, but Summer was over and Autumn was going quickly, and Fading was fast approaching - and Winter would come soon after that. And of course, once Winter was over, they would be on their way again - so the more they prepared now, clothing, food and everything, the less they would have to do once the snow melted.

Once the tent was set up, and Miyuki surveyed her work. It was bigger than the other tents she had made, but it certainly didn't look like it could hold over a dozen people. She grinned at that thought as she pranced off to get the others.
She was also gleeful because this meant privacy for everyone involved.
Finally!

Shoneah was having some downtime, greasing the string on her new bow, when she saw Miyuki moving through the camp. For someone who had lately been serious and busy, it was unusual, and she couldn't help but lower her bow and the cloth she was using and watch Miyuki curiously to see what was going on.
"Did something happen?" she asked finally, unable to curb her curiosity any longer as Miyuki drew nearer to her. "You haven't been this carefree in weeks."
She had also opened up a bit in the past several weeks, as she had gotten to know the group. There were still those to whom she didn't speak very often and thus was quieter when she was with them, but Miyuki was someone she couldn't stay shy around.

Miyuki grinned from ear to ear, "It's done! My major project is done! Well... I mean, there are adjustments I would like to make in the future, but they weren't quite on my to-do list. At the moment though, it's done!"
One could almost imagine her singing this, but it had been one of her biggest projects, and the most material consuming project she had ever worked on.
"I even have the tent pitched," she thumbed back towards where the slightly larger tent was located.

Despite how much Shoneah had protested when Miyuki had insisted on not only making a room for her but also furnishing it and providing her with clothes and everything else that she needed, she had to admit that she was curious to see what the whole thing would look like - her room included.
Knowing Miyuki, it would be more than Shoneah had asked for.
"When do we get to see it?" she asked with a grin.

"Right now if you want, I just want to gather up anyone whose still in the camp to see too, that way I can tell them which room number they have," Miyuki explained.
She had done that rather than names because Miyuki knew (despite the fact it sadden her) that not everyone will be with them always. Eron and Shoneah would eventually go home, Wren would go home too, and maybe her Uncle Daeron and Aunt Iorlas would want to settle down with Amir somewhere.

"I think most everyone's around somewhere," Shoneah offered, looking around. "Wren might have gone into town again, but other than that I think everyone's here."
She looked around. "And ... Kaito and Andarien might be off, training, I think," she murmured.
Which meant there was no telling what kind of mood Andarien might be in when he got back later.

"Which means Eron is probably with them," Miyuki added.
Eron was there to observe Andarien and keep Kaito in line, which was hard for the poor man. This was obviously out of his skill set, but at least half of the time he managed to bring Andarien down from his pissed off state by the time the three got back from practice.
That was a great improvement.
"But that means Shiro is here, and my parents and Uncle Dareon and Aunt Iorlas, and Amir," Miyuki added, "And... maybe Lancariel and Cael."
Which wasn't a bad thing, it meant that the three couples could get settled first.
Though she might have to actively look for the Cael and Lancariel.

Shoneah smiled. She recognized the look on Miyuki's face.
"Why don't you get your parents and aunt and uncle," she suggested, "and I'll track down Lancaeriel and Cael? We should be done about the same time, and then we can all go see your tent together."
She set aside her bow and cloth, folding the cloth carefully so that it wouldn't get dirty on the wrong side, and rose to her feet.

"Sounds like a plan, thanks!" Miyuki nodded in agreement.
At least finding her parents would be easy, her father was pouring over those maps and her mother was doing the writing, while asking for her father's input. It also allowed Lin to work in one of the elven languages, since it wasn't her first language and she didn't get to write in elven very often.
And that weird combination of elven, chinese and japanese phonic kanji didn't count. Miyuki wasn't quite sure why her mother wrote like that for personal use, only that the only people who could probably read it was Shiro and Kaito.
Knowing that her parents were probably working, told Shoneah she would see her later and headed to her parents' tent. They probably weren't inside, but they were probably somewhere near it.
