"Of course," he said sheepishly, hanging his head and blushing. "I just couldn't see your face in the shadow. Such a shame, to be unable to see something so lovely." Darian tilted his head to the right, the joints of his neck popping. He repeated the process on the opposite side. His neck thus relieved of stiffness, he look around at the desolation of the village. "What the hell happened here?"

Arelen smiles slightly, glad that the poison actually was working in the elf's blood as well as faking her gladness that he recognized her. Going back to his question, though, she is glad (truly glad) that she had her soldiers dispose of Arelen's body before the elf woke up.
She then says, "Well, Erik, we were fighting against some ruthless enemies that had attacked our town a few months ago as well as pillaged many nearby towns. Your brother, Jared Ownage, gained intelligence about where these beings were but, on another mission, was murdered by these same beings. You swore to get revenge for his death and rushed into the fray before we could stop you."
One of the men nearby, confused by his leader's actions/words, nods to agree what she says when she casts a glance at him.
"We were afraid that you had been crushed to death under the building. Arelen tried to get you out even while the battle ensued," he said.

"Well then, I guess I really owe the gods my thanks, since they saw to it to preserve my life and Arelen's," Darian laughed. He started to walk over to Arelen, and cursed as fire shot up his right leg. He looked down and saw the bone protruding from his shin.

The redhead had not noticed his injury until he had, actually, so to find out that the elf was hurt shocked the Mystic woman (even after killing the Mystics of the town without much ado).
She rushes to his side, truly concerned, and slides his arm around her so that she can support him, "Let's get you to a safer place, shall we? Just lean on me to get the weight off the wound."
Without saying something, her men send for the commander's doctor who comes sliding cautiously through the burly men.

Lael frowns, noting the knife and the tenseness of her roommate, but doesn't say anything about it.
"Good night," she replies, lying down.

Darian leaned his weight on Arelen, and waited to see what would happen next. He knew that if the doctor is clumsy or makes a once-in-a-lifetime mistake he would be left with a permanent limp. However, if he left his leg untreated he would be guaranteed to have a limp, at the very least.

Arelen helps the elf over to the edge of the forest as the doctor comes up.
"Set him down here," the doctor says in a gruff voice, "Dang... I don't have braces. Someone go find something to brace his leg!"
The underlings pause, unsure whether or not they should listen to the doctor, but after a quick glare from their commander, twenty of the fifty men (the other two hundred elsewhere for backup) go running to find sticks and beams and whatever they can find that is clean and straight.
The woman sits by him and pulls out something from a side pouch. It is a green leaf that has a curl at the end of it. She rips off a bit and hands it to him.
"Chew on this," she says kindly, "It'll help with the healing process once the leg is set in place and braced, though I don't have anything to help you with the pain."
----- Margem finds herself lying awake, something bothering her mind. She doesn't know why, though, because (as far as she's concerned) nothing should be on her nerves like this.
-I'm missing something- she thinks, -but what? What am I missing?-
She grinds her teeth as she closes her eyes, though she doesn't fall into a deep sleep.

Leal sighs, turning over. She can tell that Margem isn't asleep and it's bothering her. Although she herself can't sense anything wrong, she's pretty sure the mystic is able to feel something.
"You're not asleep, are you?" she asks.

Without opening her eyes, she says, "Nope. "
After a second, she rolls over and asks, propping herself up with one elbow and looking over to Lael, "Did I do something wrong while I was in a blackout? I mean, I remember helping someone but I can't recall who and then...I blacked out. I met you before that, though, didn't I? ...and then I woke up with you guys nearby.... What happened? Why am I missing something?"
---- Jay whistles something to Kitara and she nods, "Go ahead. If anything, you can ride on my shoulder all of tomorrow."
He then flits out the window and perches on the branch outside of Kitara's and Lael/Margem's rooms, to watch over the restless females and to give Kitara some comfort so she can rest.
As she lies back down, though still a bit worried, Kitara thinks -At least Jay can keep an eye out for us. Thank goodness that our rooms are near each other and have windows! That's a first for a good thing....-
She closes her eyes and falls asleep, now also worried for Jay's sake since he has not pulled an all-nighter in his bird form in years.

"We met before then. Darian, Kitara and I all came to your village. We stayed in your home for a while," the albino says. "Right before the village was attacked you seemed to have lost your memory. You didn't know your parents, and you insisted on leaving. It was very odd. That's probably why you're missing things.
((Ack! It's been so long that I can't really remember what happened! I had to go back and see.))

(OOC: Correction: *Darian )
Margem shakes her head, her mind boggling.
"My parents died years ago, at least fifteen years ago. ...and I don't know who you refer to when you say 'Darian'."
She sighs before lying on her back, "But I didn't do anything wrong while I was in blackout mode, did I? That's good......"

"Fifteen years? Margem, your parents just died earlier today! What are you talking about?" Lael asks, quite surprised.

The redhead shakes her head with such a zest that one could wonder if her head would fly off.
"No. You're mistaken. They died years ago when my father suffered a fatal heart attack and my mother followed him to the grave right afterwards," she says with a rigid sad tone that is so firm that there is no doubt about the 'fact', though it is not a fact at all but a created memory.

"Margem, I saw them die myself," Lael says. "Right before you left you were very out of it. Your memory seemed to be altered. You can ask Kitara and Jay and they'll tell you the same thing. I'm sorry, but it's true."

She shakes her head again and says fervently, "No. That's not possible. I'm a Mystic! I would never forget when my parents pass away! Never!"
Tears start falling down her cheeks as she says, "Mother was devastated when father passed away. There was nothing I could do to help her... She passed slowly into the afterlife, fading away as the daisy of the field slowly wilts. She had no energy to do anything at all except sit at home and reminisce of her time with him. One early morning, I came downstairs to make breakfast for her and I found her lying on the couch. She didn't say anything but I knew she was still there, alive. I made her favorite breakfast but she didn't touch it. Instead, she turned her eyes to me and said, 'Margem, I love you. You know that. Though I go, I want you to be happy. One day, you'll find your love, just like I found mine. Let me rest one last time at his side under the willow tree by the stream then go find your own love.'"
The redhead turns away from Lael, openly crying now, "I buried her just like I did bury father... There's no way you can say that is not real."
