Jasper's suspicions were indeed, confirmed as both Scarlet and Jett revealed the two Pokemon they'd received, the method being exactly (well, almost exactly) as Jasper had earlier that morning. He glanced over at Zorua, who'd eaten all her food in record time and was now bouncing around the area and looking very happy. When she saw that Jasper was looking at her she let out an excited cry and jumped up onto his lap, quite content to sit there with him while he finished his breakfast. Both Trainer and Pokemon watched curiously as the two then released the Pokemon they'd mysteriously received, each as unique as Zorua. Jett's Pokemon was a curious little centipede that didn't appear too happy with the group, and Scarlet's was an odd, quiet little rock type. Jasper's Pokedex told him that they were Venipede and Roggenrola respectively, and Jasper had to laugh. The Pokemon the three of them had received were rather fitting for each of them.
The sudden entrance of all these Pokemon had greatly unsettled the already anxiety-ridden Paras, and as soon as he'd finished his last bite of food, Jasper recalled him to the security of his Pokeball, as he'd rather not lose a Pokemon to a massive coronary event. Totodile and Ditto-chu had finished as well and they too gathered around the table to get a peek at the strange, new Pokemon. Zorua, on the other hand, had just about enough of this meet and greet and she hopped down from Jasper's lap, making her way to the door. She didn't leave, only turned and barked at Jasper until he acknowledged her. "All right, all right, we'll go," he sighed, quickly gathering up the empty dishes and placing them back at the counter, much to the thanks of one of the servers. Jasper straightened his jacket and smoothed out his hair as he headed back to the others. "I guess we're gonna head out and do some training or something. I figure you guys are gonna go to the gym, and I don't wanna hold you up. If I don't make it there in time, good luck to the both of ya," he said, doffing an invisible hat before he turned and followed after his impatient dark type.
Jasper felt a little guilty as he recalled Totodile into her Pokeball, and motioned for the disguised Ditto to hop up on his shoulder, which it did. It wasn't that Jasper didn't want to stay for the pair of matches against Bugsy, it was more that he felt he needed to get out and start catching up to those two. That aside, he was certain both Jett and Scarlet would win their badges from the gym whether he was present or not. He made his way outside and to the training area that was present behind the center. Zorua was still hopping around happily and Jasper smiled at her. She was cute, and spirited, and talented at transforming, but he wanted to see what she could do. * * * * * * * * * * By now, Hayley was certain she'd never seen a more spirited, hotheaded little Pokemon than that little Caterpie, and she did her best to capture the determined expression it wore as it started to, well, nom on poor Gigas' head. She was certain it wasn't a higher level than Gigas, at the very least, so she wasn't all that worried. Ivy had since turned away, no longer interested in what was going on, though out of the corner of her eye, she watched the Kadabra. He was a curious creature, and she could sense that he was quite powerful, and that made her feel envious. She wanted to be battling, too, and get much, much stronger.
Roll's sudden Screeching caused both Hayley and Ivy to look up in surprise; Hayley because in her fright, she'd snapped the graphite tip from her pencil clean off, and Ivy because, well, it frightened her, yet she inexplicably felt tougher at the same time. There was a rustling in the grass behind her and the Snivy spun around, catching sight of something yellow staring back at her. Intrigued, Ivy pulled at the hem of Hayley's pants and pointed towards the thing she had seen. "Hmm?" the brunette asked, glancing down and then over to where the grass type was motioning. "Oh!" she cried, also seeing a quick flash of yellow before it turned and fled in quite a hurry. "Guys, I think that was a Pikachu!" was all she managed to get out before she'd started to chase after it, a rather confused Snivy following after her after a moment or two of thought.

With that decided Robin and the pokemon breeder tossed out their pokeballs. Out of Robin's sprang her Monferno with a surprisingly cool attitude, while out of the pokemon breeders came a very familiar pokemon, an Aipom! Robin and Luffy both grinned at that. They had never battled another Aipom before, heck Robin and Luffy had never even come across another Aipom or Ambipom before! On the battlefield Ace just gave the pokemon a curious look. How interesting that he was battling the unevolved form of his trainers starter. Glancing back at the trio he noticed that Robin and Luffy seemed pretty excited about this as well. The strange bug that had hatched though was paying more attention to him though. Ace guessed that he could understand that, when he had just hatched he had been a lot more interested in his fellow fire types then he had been in anything else, not that he had been interested in much then. Turning his attention back to the battle though Ace watched with bored eyes as even the breeder seemed excited about something.
"I just knew I had to use this little guy when I saw your Ambipom. It isn't often I run across trainers who train these guys! Plus you could give me a good estimate on his skills." The breeder though unlike Robin wasn't going to wait any more to issue an attack. "Let's use one of your special moves! Bounce!" The cute little Aipom just giggled a bit before waving goodbye to Ace and hopping up on his tail he gave a powerful shove and launched its self high up into the air.
"Bounce? What's that" Robin muttered as she looked up at the pokemon that was doing a pretty good imitation of a flying type. Looking over at Ace who's gaze was also up into the sky she just shrugged at him, Luffy didn't have a move like that. "Blast it with an Ember when it comes down?" She had never had a pokemon just leave the field of battle like this before. The two of them waited as they watched the pokemon apparently reach the highest it would go before it started hurtling back down like some sort of Aipom missile. Robin got a little worried as it started to pick up speed. That would hurt a lot to get hit by. "Never mind Ace, just try to dodge that thing!"

As Dante sat there against the side of the pokemon center his started wonder what exactly was wrong with him lately. He had been acting pretty out of character for himself lately. First practically losing his patience with both Leo and Angelic. Now getting in fights with random strangers. Of course there was the whole matter with Kali now to, though Dante had a feeling that was more just that pokemon then it had to do anything with him. Sighing he put his head between his hands and looked down at the ground in front of him. "What is wrong with me lately?" Maybe saying it out loud would help?
In a way it sort of did. The distressed teen didn't really notice the large purple pokemon appearing behind him but he did take notice of the calming air that was now filling the area. 'There is nothing wrong with you child.' A soothing voice echoed in his head.
Jumping a bit startled at the sudden voice in his head that sounded much closer then the voices usually sounded. Dante looked up and when he laid eyes on the mysterious pokemon he smiled slightly at it, the first relaxed smile he had had in ages. "Hello there." He paused and looked at the elegant crescents that circled the pokemon. "What brings you down here? I thought you guys only wanted to watch through me like some sort of human tv."
The large pokemon gave Dante a gentle look before moving over and settling down on the ground beside him. "I am here because our favorite tv as you call it. Seems to be hurting. Unlike the others I am not content to just watch it happen. Your mind is troubled and I wish to ease it."
Dante chuckled slightly at that. "Troubled is one way of putting it. How would you put it?"

The rock type gym leader just watched and shook his head slightly at the two's antics. He was pretty sure his dad would say the same thing, He might have more insight though on what exactly they were dealing with here, like he said earlier he really only knew what it was because of his dad's talks on all the new steel types. Dialing the number on his industrial can survive a rampaging Onix phone Roark held the device away from his ear. His dad tended to be very loud. Just as he expected a loud and happy roar picked up the phone.
"Roark! What an unexpected surprised!" A loud crash was heard from over the phone. "Steelix use Dragon Breath!" Byron laughed a bit before we went back to his conversation with his son. "Aren't you supposed to be at work? Your tiny little mine still doesn't compare to the mighty holes I build while out training."
Roark sighed at his dad's comment but frowned a bit, his mine was just fine thank you very much! "That's because it is a mine dad, not me training in the Underground." He paused slightly. "Are you in a gym battle? No wait never mind. I just called to ask you some questions on one of those steel type pokemon from Unova."
"A steel type from Unova?! Did you get your hands on one of them before me!" Byron roared over the phone. It almost sounded like he was about to leave the gym battle and just head right over to his son in Oreburg.
"No dad. I don't have one. A trainer came in with one and asked for some advice. I figured I would call you and see if you could give him some advice."

Jason smiled as he watched Nyx sharpen her blades as Roark made the call. "Well aren't you a clever one, must be in your instincts to keep yourself sharp huh?" Jason said with a grin as he walked over to her, the bloody spots on his shirt from where her ribs had cut into him were drying up now and he's honestly forgotten about it by now. He was still weary enough to keep a bit of distance though now that she was sharpening herself up, her blade hands extending out more than he was aware they even could. Of course, this was in vain as Nyx immediately turned when she noticed him come near and charged at him. Her intentions were innocent of course, and as always she jumped at him for a hug, but even a gesture of love like that was dangerous for a soft fleshy human being coming from a perfect hunting machine like this. As Jason pulled his arms close to him and braced to feel those sharp blades sink into him again, he felt nothing as the metallic sound of metal on metal rang out instead echoing through the gym. Zeus had come out of his pokeball on his own, the fact that he was in it to begin with was unusual, intervening with his own body of sturdy steel. On top of being made of a solid metal Zeus was orb shaped, so Nyx's blades just kinda slid off him without any real damage, the much stronger of the two steel types just staring at her with his one eye inquisitively. "Ah? Oh hey buddy. You haven't met yet, this is Nyx! She's our new friend." As Nyx landed with a light thud she cocked her head to the side and stared at Zeus silently as he stared back, sparks emanating from his body as his normally emotionless eye took that of an angry look. Apparently he wasn't fond of his trainer being hurt, even if it was by accident. Nyx stumbled back at the sparks and cried lightly as Zeus hover closer. "Hey hey knock it off. She's just a baby Zeus. Thanks for the save though." His eye turned back to normal as the sparks vanished, and Zeus took his place orbiting around Jason as he normally did, watching him like a protective satellite. Nyx sniffled as Jason picked her up, watching her blades as he gave her a gently kiss on the head. "There there, Zeus is just trying to help." with that they rejoined Roark to see where their conversation had gone. It seemed like he and his dad were rivals about quite a few things.

Crenu looked at his pokemon training as he had instructed, and smiled lightly without even knowing as he watched Elgyem training as well, though she was just playing it was still working out her psychic abilities a bit. He quickly noticed though and shook the smile from his face, focusing on the task at hand as he watched his pokemon train. Swinub and Bubbles were going at it in a tackling match. As the Muk advanced and tried to smother the pig pokemon with his pound, Swinub pushed back with his strongest tackle, pushing against the slime until he looked like he would sink into his body before jumping back. the two went at it like this again and again, nearly deadlocked though the Muk seemed to have the upper hand in the struggle, being a fully evolved and stronger pokemon. Swinub pushed hard when suddenly he snorted hard and kicked off the ground with some real force, instead of a normal tackle he let loose a might Take Down, plowing into Bubbles' squishy body with enough force that the toxic ooze was send backwards splashing against the ground before quickly resolidifying and coming right back for another push. Froslass in the mean time was preoccupied practicing her newest move. She wasn't used to this move at all yet, but set up for it like she did with her Icy Wind. She inhaled deeply, focusing on her target, which consisted of a tree, and let out a gust of wind. But all that came out was an Icy Wind, which she'd been working on with Swinub for a while now, and as it blasted the trunk of the tree it covered it in ice. She shook her head and frowned, clapping her cheeks lightly with her hands before trying again. She inhaled deeply and tried to focus on the kind of power she used with her Astonish, and exhaled hard. This time a different type of cold wind flew from her mouth, one with a purple tinge that whirled around menacingly as it blasted away the ice chunks on the tree and peeled away some of it's bark. She was so delighted that it came out she almost didn't even realized that her body started to glow, and she started to feel stronger than ever, as well as faster. She felt amazing!
Crenu nodded as he watched, the reason he liked Ominous Wind so much was because of it's ability to raise the stats of the user, every single one of them. Of course it couldn't be counted on in a pinch or at all, but it was a welcome bonus that could happen at any given time. Swinub was doing well with his Takedown as well, and Bubbles was holding his own with impressive force of his own. He just wished the toxic puddle had more physical moves at his disposal. As Crenu thought about names for his pokemon, tons of inspiration hit him. Lots of names, none good or better than any others, how did people do this? But as he watched and thought, it came to him. Why not name them after characters from some of his favorite things? One might not know it from looking, but he was a fan of manga and such things, as any person who spends a lot of time reading might be, even some games. And one in particular jumped into mind for some reason. It was as good as anything to name his pokemon after. "Swinub, come here." he called out, and the pig pokemon paused from his training, trotting over. "Your new name is Terrato. You good with that?" Swinub seemed to mull it over for a few seconds before snorting and poking at Crenu's feet with his snout, which he took as a yes. "Good. Now Froslass, I'm gonna name you Korra." He said plainly, and Froslass took to it just fine. "Now you two." He said as he tapped his remaining two pokeballs, releasing Fearow and Pupitar. "Fearow, I'm naming you Pet Shop. And that's that. Pet Shop was a fierce bird that destroyed indiscriminately and looked down on everyone. That's you." Fearow looked like he was going to protest at first, but after the description his cawed loudly and nodded, none were as vicious and mighty as he after all. "Pupitar, you're a little tougher. Let me see....Newgate." Pupitar didn't make any kind of motion, accepting it as it was given to him. "Now, Elgyem...I don't know much about you. But I'm gonna name you Carmen. Now, that settles that. Now, get to training all of you. Go! Newgate, you rain rock down on everyone while they train. You all need to learn to stay on your toes. Pet Shop, you work with him and give random Aerial Ace's. You too are liable to get hit by rocks, and you can attack Newgate as well. Begin!" Carmen was off limits of course, but he didn't need to say that as she was in his arms now anyway. With his command, the team dispersed.

"Go for it, Callie!" Kasiya called, momentarily forgetting that this was supposed to be a sort of training match. Still quite high in the sky, the Tropius did a circle and then began to descend quite rapidly toward the Shinx. Kasiya was quite impressed at how agile the large Pokemon was in the air compared to how she was on the ground, and she honed in on the blue kitten like a missile.
Karrigan was also very impressed with the Tropius' aerial grace, as well as how easily she complied with Kasiya's orders. "Zaira, dodge!" she called again, as the Shinx had been looking up curiously at the large, leafy Flying-type, but once it had started to head down towards her, she cried out fearfully and began to run around in a panic, and didn't seem to hear her trainer's voice anymore, and Calliope came down from the sky and made her attack, landing what looked to be a critical hit and sending the poor Electric-type skidding along the ground until she came to a stop, barely able to stand. "Okay, I think that's it," Karrigan said, holding out her hand before she jogged out to check on Zaira. She scooped the Shinx up, sighing slightly. "I'm sorry, Zaira," she said sadly. "That battle was my fault." It was unsettling that she was admitting to that for a second time again, her sad loss to Erika earlier in the day once again springing to mind. She definitely needed to train harder.
Kasiya winced as she watched the Shinx take the hit, and she knew then that this match was done. Calliope came to land and plodded back over to the girl, nuzzling her arm with her head. "You were brilliant, Callie," she said. "Really. You took those hits like a champ, but you can totally dish it out too. You're amazing." She glanced over to Karrigan, unable to miss just how sad the redhead looked, and she sighed as well, starting to walk across the ground to meet her. "Your little Shinx is very spirited," she said, nodding. "I'm really impressed!"
Karrigan smiled weakly at the girl's comment, more than certain that she was only being nice. Her smile made the words seem very genuine, however, and she glanced down at Zaira, who had opened her eyes and was looking over at Kasiya curiously. "I can't get over how graceful your Tropius is in the sky," she said. "She's like a totally different Pokemon than she is on the ground." She reached out a hand for Calliope to sniff, finding herself oddly calm and relaxed around Kasiya and her Tropius. Maybe it was because she seemed so sure of herself, and Karrigan slightly envied her for that. "Have you been a trainer for long?" she asked, surprising herself. She wasn't normally one to make small talk.

It was getting a bit hard to watch this so called battle. Kressen was going to have to give that little Caterpie a lot of credit. It's ferocity was something to admire. He nodded at Alex's help with identifying its possible moves."Thanks Alex I'll keep that in mind." He was just about to tell his unfortunate partner to try a move when a horrible screech made him cover his ears.
Gigas forgot about the horrible feeling of getting eaten alive by the Caterpie when Roll's screech echoed throughout the forest. It was like getting hit with a freight train of sound. It was worse for the Caterpie though who reeled in pain and slid of Gigas's back trying to collect itself.
Upon seeing this Kressen yelled out. "Alright while it's reeling smack him with your tail!" Gigas gave a cry of renewed vigor and wound up and turned around in a complete 360 and caused his flaming tail to pick up speed slam face first into the Caterpie.
It's lowered defenses and weakness to fire made the hit particularly devastating. It tumbled on the ground and rose up with a slurred cry. "Alright nice job Gigas! Let's try this now!" He pulled out a pokeball and hit the button enlarge. "Go pokeball!" He wound up and threw a fast ball at the disorientated bug type. The ball slammed into the Caterpie and a red light engulfed it and pulled it into the ball, where is struggled for a few moments, before finally the Caterpie was caught.
With a jubilant fist pump he ran over and picked up the pokeball. "We did it Gigas, we caught out first pokemon!" Gigas gave a happy cheer as Kressen held the pokeball containing their new ally. Well, unwilling ally.

Glancing across the battlefield, Miharu wasn't sure if she liked the look the gym leader was wearing. Sparkle's Thunderpunch had landed solidly, but the Skarmory was still standing, and now it was emitting the most terrible noise Miharu had ever heard. The girl cried out and covered her ears with her palms while her Ampharos did the same, wailing in pain and flailing about wildly.
"Sparkle!" Miharu cried, opening her eyes and trying to get her Pokemon's attention. "Try and finish it off! Electro Ball, let's go!" She looked onward as the Ampharos began to concentrate, an orb of pure electrical energy forming around her tail. She spun around and launched it straight for the Skarmory, giving an uncharacteristically fierce cry as she did so.

The question gave Kasiya pause, and she had to think about it. "Um, several months now," she answered after a moment or so, "but it feels like it's been longer, and at the same time, shorter." She smiled sheepishly, not sure she made any sense to Karrigan, but it was the best answer she could give. "What about you?" she asked, stepping forward and offering her hand to the Shinx, very much wanting to pet the adorable little kitten. Likewise, Calliope had cooed happily at Karrigan's gesture and had craned her long neck so that she could rub her head against the redheaded girl's palm. She liked this quiet, calm girl.
Zaira gave a quiet mew and looked up at the blonde, playing shy at first, but it certainly didn't last long. Soon she'd shifted herself to an upright position and was now eagerly allowing Kasiya to pet her, making content sounds as she did so. Karrigan smiled at Kasiya's answer, nodding to show she understood. "I get that. I've only been on the road for about a month now, but it feels like it's been much, much longer, considering how far I've already traveled and all the Pokemon I've met." There was a few moments of quiet as the two girls enjoyed the other's Pokemon, both of whom seemed to be adoring the attention. A thought crossed Karrigan's mind then, and her stomach bottomed out, but she knew she had to ask. "Hey, Kasiya," she said, breaking the silence, her voice only the slightest bit shaky. "What would you say to a trade? Zaira for Calliope. I mean, she seems to really like you, and I think you'd have more patience for her." Her words caused the Shinx in question to look up at her, and Karrigan gave her a knowing smile. Zaira blinked a few times, and then returned the smile, and the two looked toward Kasiya as they awaited her answer.
Kasiya had smiled at Karrigan's answer, able to remember what it was like to be totally new at the whole trainer gig. She sighed a bit, as the happy memories also brought up some of the fresher, more painful ones, but she forced them back and focused on the Shinx, having to do a double take as after a few moments of quiet, Karrigan made a rather unexpected proposal. Well, at least it as unexpected to her, as Kasiya had a tendency to miss even the most obvious clues about things some times. "Oh, I, well..." she started, quickly looking over to Calliope as though the Tropius would answer for her. The Grass/Flying-type seemed to have some understanding and just gazed at Kasiya patiently. Kasiya couldn't help but smile at the Fruit Pokemon, and she sighed quietly. "I guess that would be up to Callie. I mean, we only just met a little while ago, but if she's okay with it, then I am, too. What do you say, Callie, would you like to go with Karrigan instead?" Calliope looked between the two girls several times, seemingly weighing her choices, but it seemed that in the end, the decision was made when the Tropius and Shinx made eye contact. Callie looked back to her trainer, and gave a nod and a coo. Kasiya smiled, once again feeling that excitement start to well up inside her. "Okay then, let's get these two healed up, and then let's trade!"
The apprehensive look that appeared on Kasiya's face made Karrigan worry, and she quickly regretted making the decision to ask the blonde girl for a trade. The apprehension seemed to only last a moment though, as she had a few words with her Tropius before the two came to a decision, and Karrigan felt an odd, fluttering feeling in her stomach, as well as a small amount of guilt. Even if both Pokemon were okay with the trade, a part of her would always miss her excitable little Shinx. "O-okay, then," she said, able to manage a genuine smile. She glanced around at the others, unsure of what they may be thinking as she and Kasiya made their way back into the Pokemon Center, yet again.

Miles grit his teeth and looked around at the five grinning Pikachu, not at all liking the sinking feeling that had started to creep up on him. He really didn't like the way they were all looking at him, sparks flashing from their round, red cheeks. He knew this wasn't going to end well, but that didn't mean he wouldn't give his all in order to make his trainer proud. Katie was thinking the same thing in regards to her Floatzel, and she pointed at the farthest mouse. "Aqua Jet, go!" she cried. The water-type broke forward, taking several long strides before he went into a leap, water encompassing his whole body and essentially turning him into a watery missile. Atop Katie's head, Darla watched the battle unfold, for the most part, decidedly uninterested.
Now that he had an advantage, Austin was looking a lot more confident, and even though even he didn't know which of those Pikachu was the real one, he had an inkling that the one the Floatzel was heading for was indeed not the right one. His instincts were right on the money and he watched with a grin as Miles sped right through the copy, making it vanish in a small flicker of light and a splash of water droplets. "Heh, better luck next time," he chuckled, pointing at the flustered orange sea weasel. "Pikachu, let 'em have it! Thunderbolt!" he shouted. The four remaining electric mice continued to grin in unison, more electricity sparking from each of them as they all generated a concentrated bolt of lightning that flew through the air and struck Miles. Only one of them was real, but the attack was quite painful for the water-type Floatzel so even he didn't know which one it was. * * * * * Jasmine watched silently as the Ampharos' Electro Ball sped through the air, finding her prone Skarmory easily and zapping it into unconsciousness. The gym leader sighed and then gave a small laugh, holding up the armor bird's poke ball and recalling it. "You were great, Skarmory, take a good rest now." She looked back over at her challenger, admiring her spirit, as well as the toughness of her Ampharos. "You guys are pretty tough, but it's not over yet!" she called, holding up her second poke ball. "This fella was a gift from a steel-type master over in Sinnoh! It's your turn, Empoleon! Let's get this battle rolling with a Bubblebeam!"
The Emperor Pokemon had barely appeared before he heard his command, and the large, metallic penguin squared his broad shoulders and unleashed a forceful spray of bubbles, all zooming in on the Ampharos at once.

It was always satisfying to get the first knockout, especially in a gym match, but Miharu did not allow herself to relax, instead watching quite intensely as Jasmine recalled her fainted Skarmory. The green-haired girl glanced at the gym leader, surprised by the declaration of her Pokemon from Sinnoh, and she was already in the process of withdrawing her PokeDex as the large, armor-clad penguin materialized on the field. Jasmine hadn't hesitated to give it a command and it was already launching a forceful Bubblebeam. That's why she used Metal Sound as Skarmory's last hurrah, Miharu realized, scanning the entry quickly. Empoleon was a dual Steel and Water-type, making it rather diverse, but she was certain that Sparkle could still get the win.
The Ampharos had thrown up her flippers and was guarding as well as she could against the watery assault, but the Metal Sound had lowered her defenses against special-type moves and she took more damage than she normally would. "Hold your ground and use Charge," Miharu called, her hands balled into tiny fists at her sides. She wanted her first Pokemon on the field to last as long as possible before she had to switch. Sparkle nodded and crouched down, static flaring over her whole body as she began to charge up power, her whole body glowing as a result.

Pleased as he was that all of them had been mysteriously blessed with the trio of new, interesting Pokemon, Jett couldn't help but take pause at the mysteriously part. Because, really, what was going on? Eggs didn't just plop down on the unsuspecting heads of trainers; he knew where they came from, but he had never even heard of any of the three Pokemon, let alone sent some to the Daycare to make some eggs. Even River had seemed surprised right before the egg appeared; the Psychic-type was usually so unruffled, but something seemed to alarm him last night. Viy readjusted himself, making a nest in the boy's dark hair, and he smiled a little. I suppose there's no use in worrying over what happened... we may find out soon enough.
He looked up when he noticed that Jasper seemed ready to depart, already clearing his dishes away and telling the two of them that he'd be off to do some training or something. Jett blinked but said nothing, half-wishing the boy would be there to watch their battles and yet wondering if that had made him a bit selfish. After all, Jasper had his own adventures, right? He had no right to hold him back. "Good luck to you, too," he mumbled, smiling faintly as the boy headed out. He glanced back at Scarlet, noticing that the redhead had his team out and fed already. Although he'd eaten his own food, Jett had yet to feed his team yet, since he figured it'd be bad to let them all out at once after last night's ruckus with Naja. "Hey, I'll meet you outside; I have to feed my Pokemon, still," he said, grabbing hold of his wriggling Venipede and setting him on the table. "And they've been kind of... at it, lately, so I wouldn't want your Pokemon getting tangled up in it." He cleared away his own dishes and filled two dishes, setting one down for Viy and releasing Naja a moment later. The Ekans inspected its newest partner with curiousity, but Viy was unconcerned with this skepticism, already digging in to his food. The snake followed in turn, deciding that her fellow Poison-type was all right. "Naja, this is Viy," the boy said aloud, mostly talking to himself. "Viy, Naja." They didn't even glance in each other's direction.
Once the two of them had finished their food, he recalled them to their Pokeballs, figuring the introduction of the ornery Bug/Poison-type to the rest of his team could be made whilst basking in their victory in a few hours. He fed River, Aerosmith, and Athena without too much trouble, finally clearing away the dishes and grinning. It was finally time. The boy practically sprinted outside to find his redheaded companion, grinning in his excitement. "You ready?"
=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Her vexation was becoming too much to keep a lid on; the girl's eyes narrowed and her teeth grinded down when she heard that grating, smug voice call out for a Hypnosis. For a moment, she felt the urge to tell Cirrus to go nuts and let whatever happened to happen. She shuddered lightly at the thought, instead barking out an order for him to dodge at all costs. What was her problem? Maybe there was something in the air getting to her, but whatever it was, she needed to take a step back and calm down. The blue kitten snarled and shut his eyes, rolling haphazardly to the left, kicking up dirt in his wake. "Use Spark again," Jade commanded, unyielding in her offensive strategy. Cirrus glowed a bright yellow and charged toward the other cat, hoping to get in another good hit.
"Ohno, ohno, ohno," the boy muttered, clapping a hand to his mouth when the Magnemite did not use Thundershock but instead a scarier, much more painful-looking move. "What is that? Misdreavus, get out of the way!" But the Ghost-type was as awe-struck as her trainer and she paused, getting hit dead-on by the Magnet Bomb. After the metaphorical (and real) smoke cleared, the Ghost-type seemed a lot wobblier than usual, letting out a weak cry. She seemed to be on her last legs. "Use Psywave!" the curly-haired boy said falteringly, looking uncertain in his Pokemon's ability to do anything at this point. But the Screech Pokemon managed, squeezing her eyes shut in the effort to produce a technicolored wave that distorted the air around it, directed towards the confused hovering magnet.
(I am SO SORRY this took so long. I'll try to not let it happen again.)

The Pokemon Center was still relatively empty on the inside, and the nurse wasn't at all surprised to see the two girls back again, and she smiled warmly as she took the Tropius and Shinx's Pokeballs to get the two Pokemon all healed up again. Both girls uttered their thanks upon return, and though they were equally excited for the trade, they seemed to hesitate, neither seemingly wanting to look more anxious than the other. Finally, Kasiya broke the silence this time, looking over at the machine and nodding to Karrigan. "Did you still want to make the trade?" she asked, clutching Calliope's Pokeball firmly in her hand. "I mean, I'd understand if you changed your mind, and I wouldn't be mad. I just want what's best for all of us, the Pokemon included."
"Oh, no, I haven't changed my mind," Karrigan answered quickly, waving her hands in a defensive manner. "I just didn't want to appear too, well, eager. I care for Zaira and I want what's best for her too, as we haven't had the best run of luck together." She held up her injured left hand and gave a sheepish smile. "Beedrill attack," she added before the blonde girl could ask. She looked down at the Shinx's Pokeball in her hand and stared at it, knowing that she wasn't going to change her mind, not now, not ever. Kasiya seemed to know what she was doing when it came to training Pokemon, and she knew that Zaira would be better off with the experienced trainer. She thought excitedly of the Tropius she was receiving in return, wondering if Calliope really did like her and if they would get along well in the future. The two girls stopped in front of the trade machine, and they both placed their respective Pokeballs in the opposite slots. "Ready?" Karrigan asked, reaching for the lever.
"Ready!" Kasiya exclaimed, almost wishing she could be the one to pull the lever, but she knew this trade would likely be good for Karrigan as well as Zaira, so she held back and studied the black screen as the trade sequence was started. Each Pokeball was pulled into the machine, just like before during the trade with Crenu. Silhouettes of the Pokemon being traded appeared onscreen and they swapped places, landing safely on the opposite sides of the tray. Kasiya giggled as she picked up Zaira's Pokeball; she'd wanted so badly to raise a Luxray since seeing a picture of one at Professor Rowan's seminar, and now she had an energetic little Shinx. "I promise to take good care of her," she said, looking to Karrigan. "I'll give you my number, and you can call for updates and advice, if you need it," she added, hoping it didn't make her sound obnoxious. "Oh, yes, one more thing! Calliope knows how to use Fly, but you'll need my father's gym badge to use it. I'm actually pretty sure you'd be able to beat him, but don't tell him I said that!"
"Thank you, Kasiya, that's very nice of you," Karrigan said, nodding. "You can have my number, as well. Perhaps we can battle again, sometime in the future once I've become more experienced." She nodded at the explanation of Fly and needing the proper gym badge, as from her own region, trainers needed the Cobble Badge from the Veilstone City gym. "Amy was going to challenge him first, and I think I will try, as well. I challenged the leader in Celadon earlier, but it didn't end very well." She thought of Naga, and wondered what Ikouma would think of his fellow Ice-type. Having two Ice-types, however, plus a Fire-type and a Psychic-type would make her next attempt to win a Rainbow Badge that much easier, but first, she'd need to strengthen her entire team, her new Tropius and Cubchoo especially.
=-=-=-=-= The Glameow's redheaded trainer made an annoyed clicking sound with her tongue as once again, her attempted Hypnosis was avoided, and the little blue kitten was now charging at her own feline, sparking bright yellow from the buildup of electricity. "Hold your ground," the girl sneered, her amber eyes glimmering, "and use Hypnosis." She was determined for the move not to fail this time around, even if she was essentially using a sacrifice play to do so. She glanced over at her partner and gave a sigh, rolling her eyes. How pathetic, he couldn't even beat that tall boy's stupid magnet. The Glameow crouched down again, once again using its tail to generate the hypnotic waves. The Catty Pokemon, however, would never know if the attack was successful or not as Cirrus' attack struck it head on, and for what was likely a critical hit. The girl pushed the curls out of her face and recalled the fainted cat, not hesitating for a second before she threw out her second and last Pokeball, revealing an energetic chimp with a long tail that ended in a flickering, dancing flame. "Mach Punch," she demanded, and the Monferno was off like a rocket, a glowing fist aimed straight for the Shinx.
Unlike his battle partner, Jake found himself strangely cool and collected, even as the still-paralyzed Misdreavus managed to get back up and fire off an oddly coloured wave of psychic energy at his Magnemite. Magnemite took the hit right on and it seemed to be more powerful than the last time, landing forcefully enough to cause the Magnet Pokemon to tumble to the ground with a clang. "Hey, are you all right?" Jake called out to the Steel/Electric-type as it got back up, a bit shaken but relatively all right. "Good, good, now let's try another Thundershock. That Misdreavus can't take much more." Magnemite slowly drifted upward, its one eye glaring angrily at the Ghost-type as it charged up a bolt of electricity and fired it off at the Misdreavus.

It turned out that the battle was actually pretty short lived, with both Pokemon putting on a pretty good show considering their experience levels. Riza did let out a frustrated sigh when Kasiya's Tropius scored the winning hit, but she didn't say anything, instead looking over to her young Snivy, who'd watched everything with unblinking eyes. Selena had been trying to figure out what she'd do if she'd been in the Tropius or Shinx's positions, but it was a little difficult when you were on the sidelines and not actually battling. She looked up at Riza and pointed at the arena, almost desperately wanting to try her hand at battling, but the dark haired girl shook her head and recalled the grass-type in a swift motion.
"Well, that didn't take long," she said, nodding to Amy as the two other girls headed back into the pokecenter, presumably to go through with the trade. She looked down at the little croc, apparently dubbed Brutus by the bespectacled girl, and then way over to where Crenu had begun his training. She hoped he wouldn't go too hard on the young psychic-type he'd just received, but she knew it was really none of her business. "Well, I think I'm going to get out of here, I'm bored now," Riza stated plainly. She pulled an old receipt from the pokemart out of her pocket and quickly jotted her number down on it before handing it to Amy. "Here. This is my number. Feel free to call me sometimes, all right? For contest advice or whatever. Take care of yourself," she added, giving a bit of a wave before she turned and started walking back around to the front of the pokecenter. She didn't know what she was going to do next, but she was sure it had something to do with winning another gym badge and preparing for the next contest. * * * * * 'This isn't good,' Katie thought, frowning as she watched her Floatzel stumble back, still smarting from the Thunderbolt he'd taken. She wasn't sure what else she could do to get rid of those extra clones, and even if Miles fell, she still had two other Pokemon remaining, several of which had a move that wouldn't miss its target. Katie allowed herself to smile despite the situation, remember that Miles also had a no miss move. She felt a little stupid for it, but called for it nevertheless. "Miles, Swift!" she called. The Floatzel sighed, having forgotten his own move as well and spun around again, his twin tails sending out a barrage of shooting stars that zipped around the battlefield before the honed in and went right for the real Pikachu, who's smug grin was about to be erased.
Austin frowned as his Pikachu was pelted by the Swift attack, but his distress didn't last long. "Hang in there, Pikachu! It's time for Thunder Wave, let's slow that Floatzel down!" He glared across the field at Katie as his Pikachu, the real one clearly distinguishable at the moment, curled his little paws into fists and let loose a weak jolt of static electricity. It quickly carried across the ground and wrapped itself around Miles like a painful, stinging blanket, and the Floatzel hit the ground as his body locked up from the paralysis. * * * * * Jasmine gave a small smile of pride when her Empoleon finished executing his Bubblebeam, and she glanced down the field at Miharu. She seemed to have figured out why Skarmory had used Metal Sound as its last move and the gym leader grinned wider. While the Ampharos was charging power she was pretty much an easy target so she figured it was time to hit the electric-type with her best shot. "Empoleon, let's use Surf!" she called out over the crackle of electricity.
The Emperor Pokemon raised his metal edged flippers high in the air and let out a loud call, the ground beneath him rumbling as a huge wave of water seemingly materialized out of nowhere. Empoleon jumped atop the wave and rode it as it roared and crashed towards Sparkle.

"Oh yeah, Erika's pretty tough, but I'm sure you'll beat her next time," Kasiya said, smiling. She too knew that the little Ice-type that Karrigan had received out of her mysterious egg would be quite helpful against the Grass-type using Erika, and Kasiya thought of her own new addition, or rather, three new additions, realizing then that her available Pokemon had changed dramatically since losing Shocker at Slateport. Shocker hasn't even met some of them yet, she thought, her gaze dropping to the floor. She doesn't know about Callie or any of the trades I made today, or Pepper, or that Nova and Rosemary and Levi all evolved... She could feel tears forming but she fought them back, knowing that she'd regret crying in front of everyone, Karrigan and Riza in particular. Sure, the dark-haired girl wasn't actually here right now, but she was certain that if she were to start crying, somehow Riza would choose that exact moment to walk in. Instead, she plucked the gold-trimmed Luxury Ball and released her newest addition, stifling a laugh as the adorable Minccino began sweeping up the floor around her. Kasiya scooped her up and held her close, and Pepper gave a happy cry.
At that point, the Pokemon Center doors whooshed open and another cry rang through the air, and Kasiya turned to see a girl, probably about her age or perhaps a year younger, ran in, a familiar yellow mouse perched atop her shoulder. They ran right up to the counter and the girl handed her Pokemon, Pikachu included, over for treatment. Kasiya stepped back a little, feeling again as though an Icicle Spear had pierced her heart. It seemed like every time she got a handle on her emotional state, something would happen to set her back. Kasiya knew that she should just leave the center, but she couldn't help but watch the girl as she received her team back, the happy Pikachu cuddling her trainer's cheek as they were reunited. This time, a tear did slip down Kasiya's face, and she didn't even bother to wipe it away as she watched the pair, unaware of the concerned look she was receiving from her young Minccino.
=-=-=-=-= Karrigan thanked Kasiya again, still holding tightly to the Pokeball that held Calliope, the newest addition to her Pokemon roster. She looked around, but her previous traveling partner wasn't in sight, and she figured she was still catching up with that Riza girl. After all they were both coordinators, at least in training, so they probably had plenty to talk about. Karrigan made up her mind that her earlier failure in the Celadon Gym wasn't going to get her down anymore and she made her way to the door, pausing to let a girl with a Pikachu on her shoulder go by. She glanced back at the blonde before stepping outside, determined to make herself and her Pokemon just as strong. Kasiya had did her a favor with that trade, but she'd also helped the redhead without knowing it - she'd inspired Karrigan to get stronger as well.
She wasn't sure where she was going to go, however, though she knew if Amy needed her, she could always call, now that they'd wisely exchanged their phone numbers after the fiasco in Saffron. Karrigan looked around before choosing to head north, the same way she and Amy had first entered the town. There had been many trainers out that way, as well as a lot of open ground and she figured it was the perfect place to get some training in. She'd planned on challenging Surge immediately after Amy had won her badge, but with two new additions to her team, well, four, considering she'd had a very productive last two days, she wanted to make sure they were all in top form.

The Monferno watched with narrowed eyes as he tried to pick the best direction to run. Growling slightly he gave up trying to decide and just picked left hoping that the attack missed as he leap in order to escape. The now missile like Aipom hit the ground with a loud crash. The attack barely missed from making the Monferno into a pancake. It wasn't a complete failure though as Ace stumbled and hit the ground pretty hard bits of rocks digging into him. At the side Robin and Luffy gave out an appreciative whistle. That attack was impressive! They didn't know Aipom's could have attacks like that, maybe Luffy could pick up something cool like that to? "Come on Ace don't let that attack beat you down!" She called out hoping that he wasn't to hurt. The serious Monferno though picked himself up though and glared at the grinning little Aipom.
"Your Monferno is pretty quick. If he had been hit it might have been all over for him." The pokemon breeder said across from her.as she watched the two of them face off. "Still, we aren't done yet! Aipom used Swift!"
Robin was well acquainted with the move Swift and she just hoped that this next plan worked, a little maybe? " Ace use Mach Punch!" Robin just hoped that her Monferno was faster then those stars.
The speedy Monferno took off rushing right at the stars that the Aipom had just released from his tail. Growling he twisted to the side just in time to avoid the initial attack. Back on course he rushed forward and slammed his fist in the Aipom's grinning face sending it flying back. That was all that there was time for as the Swift's stars swung back around and slammed right into Ace's back. After this last barrage both pokemon laid sprawled on the ground catching their breath for just a moment.

"I would put it as someone who is very lonely surrounded by people who want to help but you just won't let them." The calming voice echoed in Dante's head,
A small smile appeared on Dante's face at that comment. "That could be a way of putting it. I don't deal with change very well." He muttered that last part. Well maybe that wasn't true but over the past month he had been forced to give away his whole team, deal with crazy voices in his head, then he got told that he was getting a team back. Unfortunately most of his team was happy with their new trainers. Only Apollo and Kenny were with him now.
"You rely to much on them. You aren't accepting your new comrades even when they do try so hard." The voice softly said in his head. "You need to build your team up, you can't just rely on your previous team to be there for you, the other's want to help to."
"Even the little monster?"
"Yes, even the little monster. You know Mew gave that one to you for a reason. Because Mew trusts you to be able to handle it, it knows you have the strength to make that 'little monster' into a powerful ally."
The two just sat there for a moment in comfortable silence. "I guess I can work on it." Dante muttered. Still he wasn't quite sure what he should be doing at the moment. He was just kind of drifting.
~~~~~~
Seeing that Jason was now back to listening to the conversation Roark hit the speaker phone button on his phone and hoped that his dad would just talk about the pokemon and not get into another contest with him. "Hey Dad your on speaker and they are both waiting for some advice." He hoped to steer the conversation in the right direction.
It seemed like the battle on the other side had ended as well so the crashes weren't as close as they were before. "Right! So your the one with Pawniard?" Came the loud voice of Byron over the speaker. Without waiting for a reply the voice went on. "You sure are lucky! I have a bunch of steel type eggs coming over from Unova but somehow you managed to get yours first!" He did sound a bit jealous over that. "Still with steal types you gotta be careful. While I am sure you can handle them you mostly need to worry about people who aren't used to them. While you can be sure your Steelix isn't going to crush anyone other's aren't quite so sure. You need to be aware that they don't quite get that since they aren't hurt by most things they think that everything isn't hurt by them as well. I guess you just need to make it learn that while it's blades don't hurt itself it does hurt you, or your team, or other people around it. I heard that a sign of a good Pawniard is that like a Rapidash it doesn't hurt you unless it want's to."
Miharu had caught and raised her own Water-type Pokemon, so she really shouldn't have been surprised when she saw a titanic wall of water rise up behind the Empoleon before it began to rush forward, intent on crashing into her Ampharos. She was even more surprised to see the metallic water-bird jump atop the wave and ride it like a professional surfer, directing the Surf's every action with relative ease. "Oh, no," was all Miharu could mutter before the wave came crashing down onto Sparkle with a deafening roar. Miharu let out a small cry as the entire battlefield was drenched with water, causing Sparkle to disappear from her sight temporarily. "Sparkle!" she called, the fear in her voice prominent. "Sparkle, are you okay?" As the water receded, a rather weak-looking and waterlogged Ampharos lay flat out on her back, sparks of electricity flaring from her body. She struggled to rise, and as she did so, Miharu knew she was spent. "Try a Thunderbolt," she called hopefully, knowing that this was likely Sparkle's last action before a nice, long rest inside her PokeBall. Sparkle nodded weakly and raised her tail, a quick flare of electricity speeding through the air and toward the Empoleon. Miharu knew at a glance that it was much weaker than the intended Thunderbolt, and probably closer to a Thundershock in power, and she wasn't going to risk serious injury to her Electric-type, so she recalled her before the Emperor Pokemon had a chance to retaliate.
You did well, Miharu thought, smiling at the sphere as she clicked it back into place. Her fingers danced along the others, her mind quickly sorting through type match-ups and available moves as she touched each one. She quickly came to a decision and threw out her next PokeBall, its contents emptying in a telltale burst of white light. "Starrie! Now it's your turn to use Thunderbolt," Miharu called, her green eyes narrowed. Her Starmie had quite a variety of moves at its disposal and she silently hoped that Jasmine would have difficulty countering it if her Empoleon was to fall. Starrie launched itself into the air, its core gem flashing a brilliant yellow as it unleashed a powerful bolt of electricity at Jasmine's Empoleon.
Leroy continued to watch from the sidelines, not sure he'd decided which trainer had the upper hand in this match. He knew Miharu was tough, but this Jasmine girl was proving to be no pushover either. He'd never seen an Empoleon before and he was quite envious of if, but he kept to himself, offering nothing but a revered silence as he continued to watch the match unfold.
