((Entering from Boo Room))

User ImageRoyalty floated through various empty rooms before coming back to the one where he had first met the 'Slouchy'. He'd been so awestruck by Slouchy's standing up straight, he could barely keep himself from floating through the ceiling. Royalty had hoped to see him again soon, but no matter where he looked, Slouchy was no where to be seen.

He shrugged. Slouchy was bound to come back through here. He just had to! Royalty would wait, and grace these other jesters with his presence in the mean time.

((Entering from Group 3 room))

Herryk quietly entered the hub, immediately moving to a corner of the room. Leaning against the wall, Herryk slid down the wall with Freya in his arms. He didn't want to talk to anyone, not at all. All he cared about right now was the valkyrie in his arms.

Positioning Freya so that her head rested against his shoulder, he rested his cheek against her hair and closed his eyes. The ache in his chest spread, and Herryk tilted his head and pressed a soft kiss to Freya's forehead.

((Entering from Group 3))

Calder moved in slowly, and turned, finding a spot against a bare patch of wall that didn't have a door in the way. There, he leaned against it and slowly sank down to the ground. All these doors. Always doors. He just wanted the one the one that would take them back to that field.

"Where are you red ghoul? You asked us for help with your friend. We helped. Now shouldn't you be helping us back with our friend that's captured?" He asked, looking up to the ceiling, wondering where she was. It didn't seem like she was listening.

((Entering from Group 3!))

The kiss to her forehead made her eyes flutter open, just barely, and she slid her head to one side as she looked up at Herryk.

"Baby boil?" She whispered gently, her blinks slow and delayed as were her words. She reached up and pressed her fingers weakly against his lips. "Did we win, baby boil?"

Her other hand wrapped around her stomach, holding it in. "Everybody is okay?" She saw the rest of her group, safe and sound, and her body sagged in relief. She let out a laugh, and dropped her head to rest on his shoulder.

It was so strong. It felt so nice.

"This is good." She whispered. "I can takes a little rest. Then we go gets Barth."

The skin around the arm holding her stomach was starting to stain red on it's edges.

Christof was still riled up from the battle, bristling with energy he couldn't seem to find a way to displace. He didn't try to speak to anyone, mind still racing, wondering where his Master was now, if he was ok... with every activated pace across the hall and back, he glanced at his hand obsessively, staring at the mark as though it was a testimony to Barth's life- which it was.

Stuck here, stuck here, stuck here while Barth was off... somewhere on his own. His team mates dying around him. Weak, weak all weak, stupid and he was stupid and he was at fault and he had been a bad Igor and... and Barth...

With a muffled snarl, he punched the wall, for lack of anything better to take out that bursting adrenalin and anger on.

Calder watched as Christof paced about, making him more anxious as he watched the Igor. When he hit the wall, Calder jolted, and knew it wasn't best for his friend to go punching walls with his hurt hand. Igor or not, it was still cut up. However, just as he opened his mouth, he closed it again. He wasn't Barth. He couldn't tame Christof in any way or make him calm. In their history, it seemed whenever he opened his mouth, Christof only got angrier, usually at him. Maybe he would deserve it if he spoke, but part of Calder wanted to preserve their friendship a while longer by not directing that anger at him and making Christof see who really was the one that kept him from going to Barth.

Frowning, he rose his knees up and buried his head, letting his long, messy hair drape over all sides He hoped a door would open soon to distract them all. Still, he whispered. "You asked for help and we risked or lives - for what? Loosing a friend. We should have never said yes." Never talk to strangers. That's what his parents always told him. He should have taken that rule when they were in those bumper cars..

User Image Sancka didn't think she had visited this room before - but then again her memory wasn't exactly the greatest thing in the world...still nothing looked familiar and she swirled about the lurking two-leggers with both curiosity and trepidation...if she remembered anything it was that these intruders sometimes liked to lash out at her and her fellow boos.

As much as the mood in the room needed lightening, Herryk couldn't bring himself to tell everyone that it was going to be okay, or that Barth was going to be fine. He couldn't force the words past the knot in his throat. It was all Herryk could do to speak to Freya in response to her words, and even then he spoke in a mere whisper.

"We won," he said weakly, kissing the fingers that pressed against his lips. "Calder and Christof are okay. Freya can take a nap and then we will go find Barth." He hoped that reassured her enough that she could rest.

It was then that he saw the red.

The same panic he'd felt throughout the last room they made it through came rushing back, amplified. They had one pill left, one room left, and then... he didn't know what would happen after that. It was terrifying. It was hard for him to be rational.

Freya needed that pill.

"Calder," he called quietly to the kelpie. "Freya is badly hurt." His voice trembled, but Herryk was trying to keep it together as best he could.

"No."

Freya's head snapped up, and for the first time since they'd walked into that last room, the fire was back in her eyes. She reached up with both her hands, and pulled Herryk's head away from looking at Calder to focus on her firmly. The red staining her arms was now visibly due to her stomach scar from Before's wheel opening up again. "Yeh looks at me, right now, baby boil. Yeh gonna sit with me, and let me rest, and maybe gets somethings for me to puts on my stomach, and that's it. Don't go lookings at Calder, because I'm not takings that last pill. Barth needs us to gets to him, but he needs the strongest of us to survive longest. And we've already realized, times and times again, that isn't me."

Her face pinched in pain at admitting that, but it was the cold, brutal reality. She would have to deal with the emotional aftermath of that acceptance later - there was no time for it now. "So yeh gonna take cares of me, yehrself. All right? This is what I'm askings yeh."

Freya's head rested back on the wall, while she watched him carefully. Her hand patted his cheek in comfort.

Herryk's jaw clenched, the muscles there moving visibly. He knew there would be no arguing with Freya. He knew that the more he tried to get her to take the pill, the more she would fight against it. It was obvious by the flash in her eyes that she'd already made up her mind, and Herryk was not going to be able to change the decision she'd made.

"Freya," his voice was soft and he glanced away. The pain was evident in his voice. It wasn't something to be feared, dying. He'd died already when the false-reaper's weapon had crashed into him. No, Herryk didn't fear death.

He feared losing Freya, no matter how temporary it was. Not having her near him where he could do his best to protect her... it struck a fear in his chest so sharp and painful that it hurt to breathe. The threat of capture... of losing her to the false-reapers... Herryk didn't know if he could handle seeing Freya in Lattice's position. She was stubbornly beautiful there in his arms. She was everything he didn't know he'd been missing ever since he'd awakened in Halloween.

Exhaling loudly, Herryk drew her closer to his chest, lifting his knees so that she was caged in by way of dark, cool muscle. Carefully so as not to jostle her, Herryk undid the ascot from around his neck and pressed it against her stomach. It wasn't much, but at the moment, it was the best he could do.

There had been a tense moment where she'd waited on his answer, but when his ascot came off and pressed against her stomach, she let out a long, soft sigh. She curled into Herryk's body, letting out a small noise of content.

She could feel something changing, deep down within her, as he settled her into his arms and took care of her. She knew she should be scared of it, but she wasn't. Not anymore.

Herryk would take care of her.

Her eyes closed and she relaxed.

Royalty watched the jesters pace and lean and chatter quietly for a long time before finally chiming in.

"Your group is missing someone. Where is Slouchy!?" He huffed, hovering over the smallest one in their group. "Why is he not standing before me in all his tall glory?"

Royalty had to put effort into not pouting while demanding answers. A Boo as 'noble' as him shouldn't pout. But, oh, how he wanted to. He waited by the door the others came out of and Slouchy didn't come through. It wasn't fair! Royalty did not like to wait and he had anyway! Why should he not be rewarded for that!?

'Don't pout. Don't pout. Don't pout' He repeated inwardly, while keeping his eyes locked on the... Ghoul? Boil? .... Ghoul. 'Is this jester even paying attention!?'

Herryk sat in silence for a long, long time. He'd noticed the darker boo when he'd first stumbled back into the hub from the last room. Ignoring them had seemed his only option, and Herryk had done so until Freya closed her eyes. Only then did his gaze lift from the face of his sjel, his soul.

Blue eyes narrowed as he stared at the boo that mentioned the missing Barth. It seemed that the boo was questioning Calder, but Herryk decided to answer.

"Barth was captured," he grunted. He wasn't even entirely sure why he was talking to the thing. Maybe it was because the sound of silence in the room was stifling, or maybe it was because Herryk was going mad. Either way, it didn't matter.

Calder rose his head up to glare up at the boo. "His name is Barth."

The kelpie glared murder up at the floating creature. Today was not the day for the boo to give nicknames.

Royalty felt a mixture of anger, disappointment and sadness at the news of Slou-- Barth's capture. He opened his mouth to speak, demanding these creatures to go get him back, but he was interrupted. Rudely interrupted. He quickly turned to snap back, but stopped himself.

'Don't shout. Composer.' He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. 'You're above these jesters. Let's just remind them of that.'

But when he opened his eyes he was met with an angry glare and for a long moment he was silent. Like the calm before a storm...

"You are a VERY ugly ghoul!" He shouted before turning his 'nose' upward and above the two jesters hugging... sort of. (He wasn't entirely certain if that's what hugging was supposed to look like.)

"Barth." Royalty repeated at the dark boil. A lovely shade of dark, if he did say so himself. "Go get 'Barth'. Bring to to me."

It was sort of a demand, only it lacked any real 'demanding' sounds. Royalty had lost most of his demanding strength yelling at that ghoul. He knew it didn't have the commanding luster he wanted it to, but he didn't brake his intense gaze. Maybe if he just 'looked' intimidating, he would still get what he wanted.
