Ike and Ranulf isn't random! They develop a clear rapport that is apparent in the story if nothing else. And geez all the Ike X Soren hate without any clear explanation.. >.>
Best:
Eliwoood X Ninian
A pairing that seems trite at first, (Prince and his lovely princess) is actually very interesting considering the fact that Ninian is a dragon and that Eliwood falling in love with her actually makes sense given the circumstance. It's as canonical as a pairing can get and I always cringe at the ending if I make Eliwood pair up with anyone else... (Stay here Ninian and go away Nils!!! (Although I'd prefer it if they both could stay D: ))
Honorable mention to IkeXSoren, the idea for that was quite original, in my opinion, and deserves praise for at least that.
Worst:
Astrid/Makalov
Honestly...This pairing must be a joke because I laugh every time Astrid tries to stick up for Makalov. The pairing practically ruins Astrid's character for the sake of Makalov's, which is wrong on so many levels! Astrid you can do better!!! Much better than some pink-haired gambler! D:

I just played FE8 awhile ago so let's see...
Best:
Chapter 15
I really love multi-boss chapters and this one was really fun since both Valter and Caellach get to show their ugly faces. Plus there's the whole "WE HAVE TO RESCUE MY BROTHER/SISTER" vibe going on that makes the reunion all the more sweeter and exciting. Otherwise I'd say that Chapter 17 was cool because Lyon's boss music is addictive. (NPCs fail so badly in FE 8...just so very, very badly... XD) Seth/Cormag (Or both) get their revenge on Valter...and Joshua gets revenge on Caellach, which is so perfect for the story.
Worst:
Chapter 11 (Ephraim Route)
Oh, my ZOMBIE!!!! I hate, hate this chapter so much!!! There are like fifty monsters that come out of nowhere plus the fact that L'arachel (who comes out completely open to attacks from like everything! D: ) and Dozla randomly show up to basically fail at killing things. Worst chapter for a solo in my opinion (Other than gorgon hell, but that is actually fun for all the experience the eggs give) especially if one wants L'arachel to live as she doesn't know to go run in a corner and just hide. Oh, and all the flying eyeballs and gargoyles don't help either. Selena's chapter was also a bit bad since I seriously didn't even want to fight her, but at least it was somewhat challenging getting to her. I still hated every pegasus knight and bandit in that chapter though.

Best: Endgame. Well, at least the first part of it.
Worst: Chapter 15. Sorry, Nasir, but I hate how Eirika, Innes, and Saleh are stuck at the top while Ephraim's fully competent team is stuck on the other side of the sands. This is pretty much the only time I'm in danger...though there is some fault perhaps in my play style seeing how I usually make a point to not use Eirika unless I'm going through her route. So that just leaves me with a crap sage and Innes.

xDemonhornzx So that just leaves me with a crap sage and Innes. And a throne to dump one of them on. And the crap Sage is still more than competent when it comes to taking out generic enemies and has the advantage of getting through the desert unhindered. And Innes at least has the advantage of using bows against the flying reinforcements. It could be worse. And there's still your competent army which could have a Dancer, mages, and flyers to bust their asses to get their fast. I'm not trying to negate your points, it's very true that you need to be prudent and particular in handling that whole stranded situation, but I feel like you have more than enough resources to manage. Best: Chapter 11 Ephraim Mode Wow, I'm choosing this as best for basically precisely the reasons Nasir is citing it as worst. I'd cite this as arguably the hardest chapter in the game (on Hard Mode). Fog of War, enemies coming from all directions, a boss that moves, a need to take care of all of your units and STILL attempt to ensure L'Arachel's safety, etc... FE8 is a game that comes with very little difficulty, so this chapter shines as a sort of gem in it. I actually feel accomplished when I finish it. Can't say the same thing for things like say... Endgame or something in this one. This chapter alone makes Ephraim mode substantially more demanding than Eirika's. Honorable mention goes to Chapter 15, too. Desert chapters are usually really fun and memorable. And while this is much more disappointing in terms of difficulty for GBA desert chapters with regards to difficulty (the amount of actual desert is smaller and less inhibiting, too), the double boss factor and split army thing were pretty cool. Worst: Chapter 18 (gorgon's nest) A cute chapter I guess, but quite boring.

This made me realize I haven't played FE8 for a while. Hopefully i can still remember right. Though I do remember that I really dislike monsters in later chapters. I feel they are no substitute for human units, especially since they have many weaknesses that you can use to blaze through them after everyone promotes. Especially Slayer, man. That's just not fair. But that said... Manic Martini Best: Chapter 11 Ephraim Mode Wow, I'm choosing this as best for basically precisely the reasons Nasir is citing it as worst. While it isn't my favorite chapter, I have to give credit where credit is due. Though honestly, I like the chapter's concept more than the chapter itself, if that makes sense. Three small platforms, limited entry points where you can't see what is lining up to claw your face off, moving boss... I have played it on hard mode, and it was indeed challenging. But I feel like it isn't real difficulty. Fog of war is one thing, but with the addition of limited entry points, tough monsters, and derpy other units, I feel like the chapter gimps you too much to achieve its difficulty rather then by just being difficult. But it makes you rush and plan and be challenged, so I won't complain. Best: Chapter 15, for reasons that have already been said. Let it be known also that even though I haven't played FE8 for a while, chapters 11 and 15 are the ones I remember most. I would also like to mention chapter 5x, which has a certain charm to it, even though I wouldn't call it the best. It's a tiny but welcome shake up, and I really like the music. Worst: Chapter 18. Dose Gorgons. Like I said, I am not a fan of monsters. And this chapter is just... Yeah. Like FD said. Boring. There have been much better places-that-hurt-you chapters in FE. Especially since those weren't full of immobile gorgon eggs and gorgons that are not only monsters, but are monsters that use dark magic. Slaughterhouse. As a side note, like I said in the blast a while back, the aftermath of this chapter As Told By Erika is one of the face-palmiest things ever.

Best: While Chapter 15 is fun for the conversations you can have, it really isn't my favorite. It doesn't rank to best for me either. For me the best would be chapter 11 Ephraim Route because it gives you a challenge.
Worst: Chapter 18. This chapter is basically one of the last chances you could have to level any units and promote them easily. 50 EXP after killing a gorgon egg? I'll pass on that

Best: Lawrence FE3!Book 2: KABLAMO! Honourable mentions to Danan for having SOME challenge to him. Worst: Wiseman: Seeing as only four people can only hit him and expect to come out alive, or damage him to that manner, it really isn't much of a fight worth writing home about in both EXP-wise, or tutorial. I guess he shows the player of how awesome Dagda and Fin are?

Best: Greil
Worst: Wiseman was annoying with the fact only a couple could damage him. Dagda with his hammer was the only way I could find to capture him to get that Longsword which came in handy. With only a couple people to fight him and live...yeah that sucks.

Best: Wiseman. He's seen talking to one of the most relevant antagonists of the game as early as the ******** prologue chapter of the game. That's much more impressive than just being some obnoxious bandit or the like. He really sets the speed of the plot in a way too, jumping right into t fighting the dogs of the empire instead of the usual cliche of fighting bandits almost entirely irrelevant to the major plot of the game.
Greil is up there as well, but the pretense of that chapter doesn't sell it for me.
Worst: So very many options. We'll go with Pugo, I suppose. O'Neill is right up there, too.

Best: Batta. 1.He's a BEAST! 2.His chapter has gers. Gers. 3.You know you're a good boss when you're cool enough to be a meme. BATTA THE BEEEEEAST.
Worst: Pugo. O'neill's a mobile boss, looks kinda cool and has a cool name.

I don't really like any of the first bosses at all...
Best:
I'll say Greil just because he's the coolest of all of them and though Wiseman sounds like an ideal boss (Get straight into the plot rather than fighting a bunch of random bandits) the name is just bleh...That and fighting a sword armor that early when only certain people can damage him kinda makes the beginning a bit of a downer. Challenge is great and warranted, but I'd like it if all my units could damage to at least the very first boss.
Worst: Meh...I'll just say Pugo for this. I didn't even realize that RD's first boss even had a name to be honest. Too busy watching Edward knock him down onto his arse. XD
