Luke halfway listened to the woman speak as he continued to look at the sky. He twirled his lollipop from cheek to cheek once more before following the now moving group of students down to the lake. Looking around he could see that most of the boats already had occupants occupying most of their space. How bothersome he thought quickly giving the scene another glance checking for an empty boat this time. Ah there we go he thought moving towards a rather dull looking dingy the lady had called a boat. He paused before climbing in trying to determine if it would indeed be stable enough to take him across the vast expanse of darkness that was the lake. He let out a sigh as he decided that it didn't really matter what the thing looked like as long as it did its job, and climbed in. He adjusted his satchel to rest on his lap as he took a seat in the front of the boat. Hoping the wait wasn't to long Luke went back to looking at the sky.

Jake took a deep breath, this guy was getting on his already nerves when he was already irritated at his sister. "Okay, I'll put this simply. If you got into this boat thinking i'm nice and garbage like that your dead wrong. Now I'm not exactly in the mood for games. but feel free to try again later maybe I'll play along then." Truth was he probably would've gone along and had them thinking he was a nice guy, though he isn't, had he not been in such a bad mood.

His brown eyes shifted over his two boat-mates then drifted back on to the lake watching as it flowed carried by the slight breeze. As he watched the lake his mind drifted over all the things both his mom and sister had told him about the school. He was actually kind of interested in the start of the year and what it would hold.

((odd orange Cape:format under construction meh he's coming out a bit meaner then I meant him to >.< but then again he's slightly irritated at his sister so I guess it's a bit reasonable))

User ImageStanley's conversation with Rayne was interrupted by the Groundskeeper's pleasant voice telling them to move on after her. He put the wand back into his robe pocket and smiled the girl in front of him, making a nonverbal sign to continue the conversation later on. It was then that they got separated, it seemed.

Once he was near the lake, Stanley began to have more focused thoughts about his surroundings. He was in the middle of nowhere--to him--and was the first of his siblings to go to Hogwarts. He had goosebumbs on his arms when he observed the glassy surface of the water and the oarless boats that everybody boarded. It was so imposing and yet, somehow, he felt welcome already. He wished Rayne would get into the same boat as him, somehow. Or eventually see her in Gryffindor house. He hoped. But he knew it wouldn't happen.

He gave a weak smile to himself, as if to give himself courage, and looked around more closely. It was then that he spotted Woil and two others in one of them. He breathed in the air around him, and picked up the as of yet nameless siamese he had brought along with him. He went in Woil's direction. It might've been his imagination, but he lacked the lack of composition, refinement, and just devoid of the general nervousness that plagued the young boy's demeanor when me first met him. The smile on his face disappeared, and he wordlessly boarded inside.

"Hey, Wally," he said tonelessly.

Woil sneered and let out a rather sinister-like laugh at Jacob's attitude. "I like you punk! I have a feeling your gonna be a pain in my side." He said continuing to laugh to himself.
I hate you...
He let out another, more fierce twitch and he shivered and shook his head slightly. "Ugh I hate him sometimes..." He said, not exactly realizing he was saying that out loud, his voice seemed less sinister and angry, it sounded more peaceful and calm now.
He looked up and gave a bright smile to the boy who had just jumped in, Stanley. "Hey Stanley! When did you just get here? He asked.

User ImageThe latter smiled blankly. Whatever Woil seemed to have been just moments earlier seemed to have completely disappeared as soon as he came into the boat. "Just now," he replied, a little confused.

Stanley held the feline tight in his hands, hoping it wouldn't jump into the water. He gazed at Woil listlessly, a strange expression imbued on his face. Seconds later, he looked down at his feet and sighed. Then he looked up again, to look at the others on the boat. "My name is Stanley Wardwell," he said gently (his manner of speech was gentle in general) without having been asked. "And who might you two be?"

Daisy shook the offered hand smiling. "It's quite alright thank you though." She said happily. The blond winced a little at the boy, Jake's, temper. He seemed rather annoyed but hopefully that would ease soon. Really it was no way to begin the year. Daisy just worried that the boys would get in more of a fight.

Another boy joined them and she smiled at him too. "My name's Daisy Gaunt pleasure to meet you Stanley. You're cat it beautiful. What's it's name?" She asked happily. Daisy liked cats but knew she would never own one till she was on her own. Charon hated the things and since her brother was her only family his word was law.

Jake sighed and once again took his attention off of the waves and on to the members of his boat. "I'm Jacob Cardon. I guess it nice to meet you and all that stuff." he said with a roll of his eyes. His mood hadn't much calmed down but it was slowly getting better. After all he had over christmas break to get back at his sister, he wouldn't forget he never forgot when he needed to get revenge on her.

The dark blond leaned his head back and looked up at the sky. "since it doesn't seem we are gonna be going soon, though I wish we would. I'll bother asking since there's nothing better to do." he spoke mainly to himself. Jake cleared his throat the looked at this boat-mates. "so what houses do you all hope to get into?" he asked as just a way to waste time since he didn't really care all that much.

User ImageApparently, the nameless cat was beautiful, as Stanley had been told that two times by different people already. He smiled and let the cat down on his lap. The siamese gracefully kneaded on his lap. Always graceful, it must be a breed trait, he concluded.

"I'm hoping for Gryffindor," he said in reply to Jacob. He knew that his reply to Daisy's question would be much more convoluted, so he'd rather not keep him hanging.

"For my cat," he said, tilting his head towards Daisy, "I never actually gave her a name. My father told me to name the cat the day I got her, so she got used to being called early, but I seem to have neglected that until the train trip to here." He paused to make sure that anybody was still interested in listening, and then continued. "I thought about the names in my family tree, so I wanted to name her after my grandmother.

"Euphrosyne."

Stanley blinked and lightly shook his head, almost as if apologizing. "Well, maybe not. It's a weird name."

Woil jumped at the question happily saying the house he thought was the most intersting, at least, matching his personality... Or HIS personality rather. "I really hope for Ravenclaw!" He said looking at Jacob and gently pushing Stanley. He kinda liked the boy, he was fun to be around.

"My older brother's in Slytherin so it would be nice to be in the same house as him. But one of my friends is in Hufflepuff so that wouldn't be bad either." Daisy said pausing a moment in thought. "Then there is the friend of my brother's I met today. She's in Gryffindor. So I guess anywhere would be nice." Daisy said finally with a smile. Really she didn't mind where she was placed. She knew that where ever she ended up it was where she was meant to be.

"There's nothing wrong with unique names, Stanley. If it fits then go with it. I think it's pretty but she's not my cat." Daisy said turning back to the boy with the siamese. "My brother has a snake that he named Etheris. So strange as you put it, is normal to me."

Drake opened an eye only to notice he was being sat on "You stupid crap heap get off." he yelled pushing the boy off of him.

His eyes turned into a deep red, as he sat down on the bench of the boat. Helping the other child up. "Sorry." he muttered covering his left eye that had yet to revert back to his ocean blue.

He started counting to himself, and by the time he got to 50 it was half way gone now a violet purple. He smiled to himself and ran a hand through his hair. "How does Dill deal with me, like this." he said shaking his head from the anger in his heart.

He slowly drug his had across the water letting it ripple behind him. Time would only tell what was to become of the boys lives.

"I'll be back soon Dill, I promise." he said to the moon slowly rising behind the trees outlining a distant sky.

xrunnin',
runnin' from those days

Rayne nodded at Stanley before their was a shift in the sea of first year like herself. She found herself listening to the groundskeeper call out her name and explain to them to follow her towards the infamous black lake. A shock of excitement lit up her spine, it was almost time to be sorted. Happy days~

However, in her excitement she accidentally lost sight of her new friend. Oh dear, this wasn't good. She moved and maneuvered her way quickly through the throngs of first years headed towards the boats. Luckily she found a marker of familiar colored hair and seized the moment to slide into the boat right behind Stanley who was petting a very pretty cat.

"Sorry about that Stanley, got distracted for a moment, Rayne quickly apologized. She also took note of some new people he was talking to and added, "Hello~ I'm Ryane. Who might you guys be?

▪MADISON CLARKE▪UNSORTED▪FIRST YEAR▪

Madison ran up to where the students were climbing into boats and talking amongst each other. She walked close to them, her eyes darting back and forth between the students. She hadn't talked much on the train to anyone, which was rare for her, but now she needed to find four more students to group with. For the first time, Madison was out of her element. She paused, unsure of what to do or who to talk with.

Bea grabbed Allen's arm and followed the other first years to the boats.

"Hurry up slow-poke," she said, grinning. Bea plopped down into one of the free boats and urged Allen on into the boat with her.

"Finally," she said, crossing her legs, "I thought we would never see the castle."

As they turned the corner, the lake suddenly came into view and the noise from Hogsmeade was lost in the sloshing of the water upon the lake-shore. Immediately, Echo was reminded of the beach that she and her family used to visit every summer back before...

Shaking herself of those thoughts, she forced a smile and continued down to where a line of first years was forming to load onto a boat. When she finally reached them, she chose the boat in which the groundskeeper and boy she had talked to earlier where already in, though she couldn't remember either of their names for the life of her.

The water was like a black mirror, cold, shiny, and unforgiving. A light breeze whipped up mist from the choppy water. The boats groaned as they were tossed lightly to and fro. Shivering, she stepped carefully into the boat, putting her right foot in before her throwing her left over as well. Just then, the boat gave a rough toss. Echo, caught off balance for all of her carefulness, let out a squeal and tumbled head-first into the boat and right into the boy from earlier.
