Darksol88 "That's what I was thinking. I'd just need to keep in mind the charging thing you brought up back at the school. I overheard one piece of advice you gave to one of the other students." Aden spoke up. "Can't be much harder than the usual charging I have her do in a battle." "Well with a speedier foe, Aden, its something to keep in mind more so. Its the same with any attack, actually, that requires some sort of slightly extra effort. When I told that kid that, he was trying to rapid fire electric attacks as if such a thing was possible." I said to him.

"I figured that out pretty quickly... sure, if there's enough charged up, you can use more at a time, but not to where one goes nuts." Of course, there was always one branch of it Aden would likely be right at home with, thanks to Mareep.

You were already showing a hell of a lot of promise today, miraculous it may be." I said. Soon enough, we found our way back to the Pokemon Center once more. I didn't think I had to get my Pokemon checked out for the moment, but I was going to wait around for Aden to turn his over.

"I wouldn't look at it as that big a miracle..." Aden didn't really see how it was that miraculous, apart from an active effort to keep any doubts at bay and any impact that had on his performance of late. This did little to explain some of the downright odd or high risk moves lately, and he wasn't sure if he really wanted to know how his mind approached ideas like those anyway.
Perhaps it was an effect of last night or past events, but he decided to let those remain unknown for the time being and handed over his Pokemon at once.

Think on, instead, about what you're going to be up against when you head back to the gym." I said. "You got a apprentice to down a couple of notches for starters..." I lead Aden back down the hall and to the back where lunch was finally being served. No buffet this go round, looks like its the menu. Burgers, sandwiches, soups, and salads...eh, when in doubt. "Club sandwich, hold the garden, side of fries, and a Coke."

"A couple might be putting it mildly. But if I'm smart, I may want to save Mareep for Falkner himself." Knowing endurance was something of a weaker suit, he felt he'd want to save his potential ace in the hole for when it'd be needed most. Looking at the menu for a second, he quickly decided on some soup. He wasn't too hungry. "I don't think it'd be the best idea to rely on her and use Thundershock or Shock Wave over and over, like it's some twisted expectation inside a gym."

"Well, in a gym battle, you have to think a bit out of the box when it comes down to battling the gym." I said. "Just one more of those tests that I have been telling you about. And its these tests that elites are assigned and champions are made."

"I could still see someone walking in with a team of Mareep or something similar, give them a command concerning colored destinies, and have them use Thundershock until they got a badge." Aden said. "Kinda makes me glad I went into this older than most."

Aden said. "Kinda makes me glad I went into this older than most." "That usually gets them nowhere, because the gyms have been known to throw a curveball of some sort that throws those kinds of strategies right out the window." I said to him. When the food finally came out for me and Aden, I took my tray and looked around. "Here, this way, Aden." I said.

"Yeah, that's what I thought. Knowing Jackie and Falkner, they probably found some way to send mud at their opponents." Aden only hoped he was wrong, but at this point, it wouldn't surprise him. He quickly followed with his own tray, thinking of what might work best this time around.

I found a table to sit down at and laid my tray there. I thought for a moment myself on how Aden may go about this. Really no telling with this new found mindset of his, which still perplexes me on how he may have gotten it. Perhaps he really did have a run-in with Unown. Bah, why figure it out. I got a sandwich to eat.

Perhaps the unusual part to this was that Aden's thoughts on this one wasn't quite so unorthodox. He almost immediately figured that Nidoran might be the least suited for the fights, lacking the range that Mareep and Poliwhirl had or Raticate's speed. Maybe he'd ought to try the TM on him instead. "Wonder if Nidoran would mind trying the TM instead." He spoke up after a few spoonfuls. "Mareep would benefit more, but it'd give him a way to stand a shot against Jackie and Falkner."

Throw that out of the blue attack that you probably wouldn't see from a Pokemon like that. One thing to keep in mind though." I said to him. "You got to figure how well, even when mastered, a Nidoran can crank out electricity like that. As in how effective it would be." I said to him. "Don't get me wrong, I'm not telling you to NOT use it on Nidoran, but its just one of those things you probably should consider for the long term. Let's take this for instance." I took out a Pokeball, not releasing the Pokemon inside. "My Porygon-Z. It has a plethora of attacks, attacks you probably wouldn't figure that it could learn, or should learn. Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse...reason why I was more willing to teach him such attacks was because he had the natural ability for it. He excels in stuff like that compared to the more physical blows such as saaaay...Double Edge, though...in my Porygon-Z's case, it doesn't stop him from trying. Granted there are other factors to go along with it, but that's just one of them." "Basically, what I'm trying to say, is think for two minutes at least. Would Nidoran benefit a lot or not so much from Shockwave?" I asked.

Almost as soon as the mention of Porygon-Z's prowess was given, Aden had taken to looking at more indepth information concerning Nidoran and what he'd eventually become. Throughout it, it was apparent that physical strength was something he'd excel at. "Actually..." Looking a little further revealed that he'd be no slouch with attacks that'd rely on other factors either, having a wider range of such attacks as he evolved. "I think he would. Sure, it'll never be as powerful as what your Porygon-Z might do or others for that matter, but with the right training, he'd be good at both with a little more skill in physical strength."
