Matsuya was surprised when the man commanded the guards to let him through. A part of him was telling him that it shouldn't have been this easy, but he ignored it. He needed to see if it was true, if Zin was really Hokage. Continuing the accent, Matsuya spoke once more. "Thank you." He walked through the gates, lowering his hands to his sides. If they were letting him in, Matsuya thought they would at least let him walk comfortably. He glanced every now and again at the guards who were looking at him. They all looked terribly nervous. He didn't know why, but this put Matsuya off guard a bit. If it wasn't from the battle, then why were these men so afraid? He did not know. Matsuya kept walking, making his way towards where he assumed the Hokage's Office still stood.

  ►► This is dreadfully boring, she mused as she flew through the forest of Konohagakure, the Village Hidden in the Leaves, as it was aptly named. Her muscles coiled and released as she leapt from branch to branch, finding this method of travel much more efficient than hurtling across the spongy forest floor. In this part of the forest, the ground was potentially a deadly obstacle course, riddled with gnarled, twisted tree roots that grew unchecked, and loose stones that were hidden under innocent beds of fallen leaves and matted knee-high grass. To walk on the forest floor was to risk spraining an ankle or tearing a tendon in her knee, a fate which the blonde kunoichi wished to avoid. No. She wouldn't overexert herself picking through the forest. She had other business to attend to, and didn't wish to be burdened by some minor injury. Over the years, she doubted Konoha had ever seen another kunoichi like herself. Headstrong, temperamental, and tolerating no nonsense ever, Kaiten was known to be a strict and cruel, yet highly effective sensei to her students. Admittedly, her methods were occasionally questionable, but there was no denying that she got her job done, and had the ability to run a squad like clockwork. She would give the children the most grueling training they had ever experienced, and they often started by hating her for it, but she knew that they would thank her eventually. Every student she'd ever had call her "senpai" had thanked her in the long run. And she was damn proud of that fact. Well, as proud as a truly apathetic person could be. But that had been years ago, during the time when she still was loyal to Konoha. During a time when there were people and things she cared about. That time was in the past. Before she had too much time to dwell on the past, the branches began to thin, sunlight slicing in dappled shafts through the leaves to throw a mottled green light onto the towering structure that was the entrance to the Hidden Leaf Village, guarded by several local shinobi. This presented her with several options. She could don her headband and simply stroll into the village as a kunoichi returning home from a lengthy, as well as very classified. She could keep her headband tucked into the sleeve of her powder blue silk robe and arrive as a visitor. She could even attack, presenting herself as an enemy. She mulled over her options as she paused, resting on a well-concealed limb of a white pine as she observed. Konoha was going about its usual business, though the guards at the gate seemed to be in the process of repairing the ground, having been damaged by what she could only imagine was an intruder trying to attack. In light of the circumstances, she decided it was best not to rock the boat more than it already was, and pulled on her leather gloves. The plate to her shinobi headband had been sewn into the back of her glove, emblazoned proudly with the symbol of Konohagakure. Smoothing her hair into place, she jumped to the ground and strolled through the gates, flashing the headband to the guards with a stoic face. She assumed she looked as she always did. A kunoichi returning home to honor and serve her village. And the wonderful part about that was that no one, not a soul aside from herself, knew the truth.

Matsuya walked silently through the gates. He didn't stop to talk to the guards. He didn't see any reason why he should have to stop in when leaving the village, much less after he'd just left the Hokage's office. If one were to look closely, they would see that the exposed portion of Matsuya's face was creased in worry. If this was the current state of things in Konoha, it had changed quite a lot since he'd left office. People didn't seem happy anymore. They looked more scared and worried. And that troubled Matsuya. He was someone who'd worked all his life to simply make the world a better place. Granted, some of his studies could have been considered questionable, but even they had been for humanity's greater good. Maybe it was time to establish a place of business for himself. Somewhere no one would find him unless they already knew where it was. A place where he could organize his thoughts and information without the chance of anyone stumbling upon it. His room at the inn was fairly secure, but there was always the chance of someone accidentally, or not so accidentally, entering the room and learning everything. Matsuya sighed and hopped up into a tree and jumped away into the forest.

Early evening at the Konoha gates. A time that once held laughter and mirth as the day came to an end and the guards could begin to relax before the night shift came on. Now though, there was no laughter, only cold dark silence. Those that tried to fill the void as in the old days had died early in this new regime. Jin, the new head of the guard had made it clear that was unwanted, as he fed the jokers, those he deemed weak, to his monstrous snake. No, there was no mirth anymore. Even when the man wasn't around the silence would hold, because nobody dared be the one to break it, and possibly have him find out. Zin had spies in the guard even, that would report such things and the person would be killed as yet another example. Sometimes they didn't even need a reason, and would kill you for pleasure. What reason was there to laugh anymore, when you were in danger even more from within than outside?
But tonight? Tonight was somehow worse. Nobody could place it, but the air was thick with it. Fear. Death. Despair. Like Jin, or Zin, or even both, were sitting right behind you, and if you so much as moved they would eat you themselves. The shadows cast by the trees outside were thick and long. Far longer than they should have been at this hour, and twisted about into shaped not quite like what they should have been. Every guard individually would swear they saw faces move in the dark, but didn't dare speak out, for fear they were wrong. That it was a trick of the light, and that their perceived fear if it wasn't there would make them the next death in the unending chain. And nobody dared go out to check, even though that was within protocol and wouldn't harm them, because what could be out there... Well, that was arguably worse than death. Facing Zin's creations, should they have been set loose this night.
As the light grew dim, faster than anyone liked, and again, faster than it seemed it should have, something moved and they all saw it. But what it was, none could tell. The shadows that had seemed so wrong, stretched and pulled up from the ground, advancing towards the gates, splitting off from the trees and moving forward as one large entity, a cloud of blackened mist. And still the guards didn't dare to move. Not because they were unsure. Every one of them saw it, and knew they all saw it. But because this might still be some creation of Zin's. If one of them went running to him, to report this... Whatever it was, and it was his, they would probably be killed for wasting his time. But they were on guard, every man with a hand to his weapons as the mist came closer still, inky blackness devouring the world.
And as the mist passed them by, they felt relief, for a moment, as even though they could not see, within the mist, even though they didn't know what it was, there was no pain. There was safety, though the fear was still alive. Fear of the unknown, though they had some hope now.
And then the screaming started. Each man heard the screams of his fellows as... They knew not what happened to them, but the screams were of pain, of horror beyond all, and sometimes, of death. From all around them they heard their fellows fall, and then they knew, it was coming for them too, as it began.
And the mist moved on, beyond the screaming ninja as they fell in it's wake, and into the village proper.

Jin Tojiro Naga Clan - Jounin - Gate Keeper - Weapon Master - Shuntensatsu It was just another day on guard duty, and Jin overlooking his watch dogs as usual. Making sure they all remained quiet for the most part, only allowing a small bit of conversation here and there before making sure their eyes remained on the outer realm of Konoha gates; after all, Zin wasn't very happy that he had to come down from his perch to handle the last person that dared to reach into the area of Konoha. That unhappiness, made Jin unhappy, as it was his nephew who was forced to come down and handle the situation. "Tch..." Jin through with frustration as he tossed a kunai at the wooden gate, every once in a while to pass the time.
As Jin span a kunai between his fingers, Azriel laid coiled in the shadows behind his master. Slitted eyes peering over and keeping watch on one side of the gates, while Jin's own malicious eyes peered on the opposite end. Limiting the safety of doing actions without his notice from his shinobi, and giving the soldiers more incentive to keep on their best guard. Specifically as the night wore on and the torches of the gates replaced the light of the sun. Jin couldn't put his finger on it but there was something that was bothering him. There was tension in the air. He couldn't tell or pinpoint the exact feeling, but there was a feeling of tension in the air that only grew thicker the longer the night settled. This didn't unnerve the elder Naga warrior but it was enough to make him keep the guards watching as if the village was on high alert, Call it the intuition of a Shinobi War survivor, but this night wasn't going to be just a normal night; and as he started to smell fear from the guards, Jin's slitted eyes became as alert as they could from his administrative perch. Having a conversation of soft hisses to Azriel who turned his massive head from one way to the other, and utilized the wind that blew every once in a while to catch the scents of anything that shouldn't be within the area, the two utilized their resources in attempt to find out what was the cause of the soldier's change of emotion. After the training Zin has them go through, and the authority Jin has them under, they shouldn't be frightened. They should be like rabid wolves ready to pounce. But what where they seeing that was creating this tinge of hesitance within them?
But Jin's caution brought him to notice something. It was hard to really describe it, for it was almost something of a horror movie. The darkness that surrounded the front of the gates seemed to be creeping forwards. As if it had a "body" of it's own and was getting closer and closer to the gates. Jin would, if he was like his frightened guards, think it was due to the lights dimming but there was something truly unnatural from that pitch blackness. It was confirmed when this blackness began to spread along the gates and the noticeable diminish of lights from other killers. ".... This again? Who has the gall?" Jin thought as he rose from his chair with his blade in perfect place to be withdrawn. But thankfully, unlike the last time, the gates were not going to be so easily penetrated due to Zin's new modifications to the gates.
They now held more security than before, landscape wise. Unlike the simple mass wall of protection, there were now three. Two equally large walls on each side of the main gate, with strategic holes on each side. In three levels, there stood archers ready to kill the moment they felt uncomfortable; and this situation fit the bill. For they rather boxed the individual into an area where arrows will simply rip them apart. The gates were completely fixed, but it was enough that they could shoot without taking each other out!
What this "mist" was doing, they didn't know. If it was poisonous, they would cover their noses and mouths with the clothes and breath through that. Or if they are lucky enough to be beside some water source, douse the top of their shirts before placing it over their faces to further filter their breathing as they strung out with attacks. The darkness of course made things hard to aim, but they would have to be hitting at least something, or at least until Jin gives them the order to focus on their attacks more accurately. With the sounds of their comrades dropping, they were admittedly quite worried. Worried of what may come to them, despite the protective walls that stood before them. Then again, they were more worried to survive this encounter and not perform at the level Zin or Jin required of them; the tortures those two created put an extra push forward to make sure they would not die without a fight!
It wasn't until Jin finally yelled out, "Douse your arrows with oil, ignite them, then fire! Let us bring our prey into light! Hold the gates!" Jin said as he continued to wait for the locking of Azriel's senses, so he can strike down this second blemish that decided to pop up on the grounds of Konohagakure. Or for the lighted arrows, should they work or better yet hit, recreate the light that has been dwindled.

A deep mirthless laugh rose from the mist as the arrows were fired, as if one man laughing through a thousand throats, it echoed over the gates. The laugh spoke not of joy, nor happiness, nor truly even amusement. The laugh spoke not of it's owner's feelings at all, but of the futility of the attempt to assault the mist. The black advanced without pause or care as the arrows, before they even reached it, sputtered out, the flame dying as if it had no will to live, no fuel. The mist split then, advancing not in one but three directions, creeping up the walls and through the portholes. The archers would not fire again, as all that could be heard once more was their screams. The finest defenses Konoha could offer would not even begin to stop this.
And one section of the mist, that which pushed forward, rose up the wall directly towards Jin himself, intent on adding the man that reeked of hate and terror to the list of those it had conquered this night.

Jin Tojiro Naga Clan - Jounin - Gate Keeper - Weapon Master - Shuntensatsu Well... That happened. This mist definitely peaked his interest when the mist diminished the flames. What mist could do that? Was there no oxygen within the mist? Why can his serpent not target the scent of the perpetrator? So many question proposed in his mind yet negated, to the information he was gathering as the events rolled out but no true definite answer was coming to mind. Jin looked back briefly, as Azriel hissed, stating that there was a tiny figure looking out towards the gate on the village side. 'Zin... I bet that child is laughing it up to what is going on here.' He thought to himself grimacing to the thought of that evil child, before looking back to the creeping mist. What it was, Jin could not tell. He didn't even have solid theories of what it could be... only guesses. Either way, there was a voice within it. It had to be a person orchestrating it. They just need to get pushed out of their comfort zone is all. "Remaining force,"Jin called out to the mean who have not yet been claimed by the eternal sleep, "Flank the back of the mist. Spread out and circle into the back. I bet, that is the spot this person lies in wait. Either there, or near the middle. But strike at the back, then press forward." Jin said as he soldiers spread out.
Jin would hold the fort now, and if Zin from his angle saw something, then he was sure the child would too; or rather secretly hoped. Then again, Zin would only enter the battle to protect his kingdom more so to protect his own blood. Weaving through hand-seals with one hand Jin inhaled deeply and infused Fuuton chakra into his lungs as he locked his target onto the middle of the mist, "Mugensajin Daitopa!!!!!" Jin announced, more so mentally as it would be quite hard to speak words after exhaling the mighty winds. Hoping to blow back the mist and at the very least, bring out the orchestrator that may possibly hide within it.(( Sorry about the wait. Between school, and a death within my family. Sorta waivered in posting a little V.V; ))

"You are alone." A voice hissed from within the mist after Jin called out to his subordinates. As the man fired his wind jutsu, the mist split again in two, and both sides moved rapidly forward, reforming behind him into the rough shape of a man. The being had only a row of holes for a mouth, and two more above for eyes, but there was nothing within but a blinding white light. Where the mist had been, where Jin had aimed his attack, he would see the remains of his men, the ones he'd called to flank the mist, fallen down, dead. "Sleep, little man. And never wake again. I'm not here for you." the voice hissed out again. The black being's lips moved with the words, holes stretching and shrinking as it spoke, but the voice didn't come from it, but from everywhere else at once. "Sleep." it spoke again, that one word echoing into an ever growing silence as it's arm stretched out towards the man, fingers rapidly stretching into wicked knives. It would end Jin, like it had some many of his underlings before him.

Jin Tojiro Naga Clan - Jounin - Gate Keeper - Weapon Master - Shuntensatsu This truly was something Jin, in all his years, has not seen. The mist holds no form, and from what he noticed, the voice that spoke from it didn't directly from it but everywhere. He is aware of Genjutsu that can do this but he, from what he remembers, has never placed himself into being cast under and illusion. What Jin did spot, was that the creature was reaching out to him with a clawed hand, meaning that possibly it has the ability to become solid and transparent at whim. Right now, it is attacking, therefore it must be solid. It was a long shot, but he would not die to this corporal imagery! Not until he has that child's head posted up at his gates! Grasping the Tachi from the wood of the gates roofing, Jin took a step and began to fiercely spin around with his blade out. A technique known to those well versed in the way of the sword, as "Flurry of Steel". He hoped that at the very least, this would add some damage to this creature, should his thoughts about it solidifying has been brought to light. He may not be able to see too much should those eyes truly be blinding, but with his blade slashing out at different angles, he would have to be hitting something eventually.
CP: 73/85 Quote: Flurry of Steel: [description here] (The weapon master can strike with such speed that they can perform two different weapon techniques in the same post. In addition at a C rank chakra cost the weapon master can jump at the opponent and spin their body incredibly fast, either using the technique defensively, by deflecting attacks away from their body, reducing the damage of techniques by 2 ranks(can nullify genin or lower techniques completely. Or it can be used offensively, moving the blades in front of you to strike furiously at your opponent, striking as many as 20 times in rapid succession. At Jounin rank the defensive ability allows one to completely nullify any jutsus of lower rank than the Weapon Specialist, at the cost of the jutsu nullified minus one rank, Academy Rank jutsus can be nullified for no cost. Any jutsus of equal or higher rank will be reduced in power by 2 ranks. S-rank jutsus can only be reduced to A rank, ever, at A-rank Chakra cost. The offensive capabilities are also increased at Jounin rank, allowing the Weapon Specialist to add an element to the attack at B-rank chakra cost. Each element takes on a different form depending on the Weapon Specialist, this is an A-rank effect.)[5 post cool-down if using element, 3 cool-down for non-elemental]

Zin Naga Naga 'Demi-Prince' - 'Nin' - Naga Clan Head - Taijutsu Master - Legend of Shuntensatsu Zin had been watching for sometime now, whilst upon the roof of the closest building near the gates. If not watching, he heard the screams of his initial gate force who fought like the wolves he trained them to be; unfortunately, it seemed the force they were fighting against was too powerful. The entire event rather proverbially pissed Zin off. He can barely recruit enough shinobi to depart, let alone have enough to hold the fort of Konoha so that he may deal with the domestic issue of Takigakure, and yet another attack forms! The last attack, thankfully, provided him with the blood sample of a Hyoton fighter to be implanted in who he deemed to be loyal enough, but as much as he'd love to get another possible implant why in the world must another attacker come. Foolish bandits he didn't mind, even a couple of low ranking shinobi who he can punish before the public, but another battle that seemed like it wouldn't end quickly, was not something he needed. He is not naive enough to believe that he was not going to have the village attacked; but to be attacked so frequently with low staffing, made him want to peel off this intruders skin while he is still conscious; and as much as he'd love to see his uncle's entrails strewn across the place, it would only be he that would be doing the removal of his life.
The Naga prince, watched carefully as the ominous mist took out his soldiers that stood guard on the roof. He saw his uncle working valiantly to keep things under control, but this.... whatever it was was more trouble than it seemed. He could see the desperation of his uncle's attack near the end, and deemed it time for he-himself, to move in. In this situation, he knew not what to do with this specific opponent. His uncle may have captured something better, with the angle he was in currently. Hissing to Nagi and Hitan to stay back for the moment, Zin reached into the depths of his cloak to pull out a single flash-bang grenade. Looping it with string upon the bottom of a kunai, Zin hissed in pure Naga to his uncle, "Close your eyes!" Before pulling the pin and tossing the kunai forth. Zin didn't think this would work, but right now, until the truth of what they were fighting revealed itself Zin had little options. The creature, he noticed, attacked from darkness. Maybe blinding light trapped in a miniature vessel, will damage it some if not blind it? If not, then info from his uncle, or his other possible thought on the situation, would rid him of this nuisance.Equipment* 2x Kunai's * Amaterasu - [ Not Active - Holstered ] * 5x Explosive Tags * Shinobi Flashbang 0x Chakra Pool: 109/109

Jin's attack did indeed strike the black creature, each slash cutting easily through it and reducing it to a fine mist once more in a massive spray of blood. Anyone looking on would quickly assume that the creature had been felled, overconfident in it's attack and defeated by Jin. That is, until it spoke again. "Pathetic, as you always were." the voice spoke from directly behind Jin as the mist formed together once more, both revealing that the being had taken no damage, and the true source of the blood. In his furious slashing into the mist, Jin had encountered some hidden weapon, a blade of some kind, and shredded his own arm until it was entirely removed, without even feeling it happening.
Turning away from the man without a care, the black being's eyes centered on Zin. "But no matter. The one I came to see is here." The child's flash bomb had vanished into the mist during Jin's assault, just as ineffective as the arrows from earlier in that it didn't even go off. "How have you been, these many years?" the thing spoke, it's voice coming from itself, but barely more than a hiss as it walked forward, straight off the gated wall and across thin air as if it were solid ground, until it stood before Zin. "Tae Long." it spoke the name not in it's echoing voice, nor in the hiss from the previous sentence, but in the same voice Zin had used moments before, the language of the Naga clan.

Zin Naga Naga 'Demi-Prince' - 'Nin' - Naga Clan Head - Taijutsu Master - Legend of Shuntensatsu Jin was out of commission. Zin saw it after his uncle's spin, when the geyser of blood exploded from his sword wielding shoulder and his arm dropped upon the roofing of the gates with a sicking thud. The Naga child neither winced nor showed sympathy for his uncle. Even when he gets the arm sown back on, since that body was reaching it's limit, Zin was pretty sure he'd simply transfer his soul into another vessel. But his uncle's misfortune gave Zin insight as to what this thing was; or, what he'd do should he have to get violent.
Nagi and Hitan hissed as the creature hovered over towards Zin, who, did nothing more than take a single step back and place his hand on the bottom portion of the guard on his blade while his other hand hovering just inches over the curved hilt. Fear wasn't needed in this situation, only the destruction of this threat and focusing on completing it. When the creature spoke, a vicious twitch in the child's face of rage showed before he retracted the emotion through the mental teachings of Shukuchi; yet the fury the little Naga held behind those needle thin serpent eyes never became full suppressed. In English, as if speaking back to a non-clan member would offend the very language of his people, Zin responded, "You know my name and speak of my uncle as if you knew him. Who are you?" The "What are you?" question, didn't really matter to Zin at the moment, for what good would it do? Zin never studied spirits, if, that was what it was. He is too practical to believe in such superfluous things. There had to be some trick to this, and when he finds the trickster, demons shall even wince to the torture he will put them through, for this.

Sorry for the delay! I generally don't post on Sundays, and Monday I was a solid combination of busy, and lazy, and never got around to it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Who am I?" the being pulled back in mock surprise. "How could you forget the man who created you?" With those words, color began to bleed into the creature's form. First the eyes, which turned yellow and slitted, just as Zin's own, rimmed by purple tattoos. The color bled out from there across the face, turning it a pasty pale white. The row of holes became a proper mouth, twisted into a condescending smirk. The blackness at the top of the being's head twisted, split from the form, and fall down it's shoulder's in a shower of long hair. The rest of the body twisted, shaping itself, grooves forming in a mimicry of clothing, black robes covering the now man's form. The last to change was the hands, which softened from the dagger blades they had been into human fingers, as pale as the face.
The being, now a man, crossed his arms, watching Zin with one eyebrow raised as if waiting for the boy to make the connection. And well he should. There was only one man alive, or dead, as the case had long been assumed to be, who held his appearance.
Zin Naga Naga 'Demi-Prince' - 'Nin' - Naga Clan Head - Taijutsu Master - Legend of Shuntensatsu Zin had to keep his calm when the shadowed creature transformed in what was to be someone, that has long been since dead. The mockery of his father simply made the Naga child livid. It could not be possible for him to be here. It defied all forms of science and logic. True, his father talented, but after what happened all those years ago it would be impossible. The only reason Jin is still alive, is because he stayed within Yukigakure, leaving only to steal another body and await for the return of his father.
The last time he checked from notes of Orochimaru when he stole it back during his early Jounin career, his father was sealed away in a place that he definitely knows not where. Then again, even by the slimmest chance that this person was his father, was the feared Sannin known as Orchimaru, why now does he show his face? Why, when Zin has gone through the ridicule and spite of Konoha and the world, does he show his face? Does he expect a warm welcome? After Zin has conquered, and done more than he has during his age when he was claimed to be a prodigy. Nagi and Hitan, until they felt their master's thick murderous aura, were about to bow at the Sannin but felt the pure malice from Zin which made the two boa sized serpents hiss instead
Placing his clentched fists into the depths of his tailored Daiymo styled kimono, Zin looked up to the man with his needle then slits. Showing that the Naga prince definitely, was not amused. "Father... Is that what you want me to say?" Zin asked softly, though his voice definitely had the tone of sarcasm. "Or thank you for giving me life?" The child continued before having a tiny bit of giggles, "Oh oh wait! How about daddy? I missed you!" Zin said as his sinister giggles continued, cutting through the sharp harvest winds before halting abruptly and his face finally contorted to reflect the hostility within him, "You dare... Resemble my father, speak my tongue, and believe you have the audacity to come before my presence? My father, is dead. Has been for decades. Understand this, imposter... To impersonate a Naga Clan member... especially my father, is a death worse than what hell itself can provide for you. Show you true face... Now!" Zin demanded. He had lost the dreams of seeing his father years ago. The Naga Prince cannot have such childish dreams, when he now is ruling a village and furthermore, attempting to rule the world. Such thoughts are weak, and he will not accept the weakness.
"Jin!" Zin yelled out to his uncle, who was still upon the Konoha walls, "Alert the villagers that an imposter of Orochimaru has appeared. He may have my father's old techniques. Anyone able, should report to the gates, anyone else, should help evacuate. Also... Hurry up and perform the ritual. I may need you for this." Zin said, slitted serpent eyes leering down at the imposter. Hating that the first time he gets to see his father, is by an imposter. Jin nodded, though looked down at his so called younger brother. It was, definitely, a fantasy to see him again. Though if there was a way to bring him back, their father definitely would have done it years ago. Standing up, Jin held his stump of arm and looked coldly to the... thing, "Make him suffer... nephew. Less father comes down and does it for us."
