Raquel blushed slightly in between kisses. "I was thinking about getting it cut back to normal after the gala. But it really depends on which you like better." She smiled, returning his kisses sweetly, her eyes closed. She had hoped the gala coming up would help bring them closer, so that maybe their arguments and differences would vanish...they seemed to have a lot of those.More than Raquel wished to acknowledge. But she decided such a happy moment between them shouldn't be ruined with her wandering thoughts. She opened her eyes and studied Damian with an intense but happy look. Just as she had been last night wanting to take all his features in.
Richard squirmed when she poked him stomach, smiling. He stood back up, shrugging a little. "I'm not intelligent enough to know how the anatomy of our bodies is so buoyant so I just accept that they are." He smiled. "I didn't go to school to be a doctor, but maybe I should have..." He tapped his chin curiously, Shrugging casually before poking at Lorey's tummy. "Did I tell you I love you're tummy?" He asked flirtatiously, getting right in her face.

"I'm mum on this one. If you like it long, then keep it long. If you enjoy it short, then get it cut. I have no say in this..."
And truly he didn't care. Raquel looked beautiful either way. He'd met her with short hair, proclaimed his love to her with long hair... both held good memories and the same person.
Lorey had to stand a bit on tip toe to get right in his face for a little kiss. "No, you never said anything about my tummy. Why do you love my tummy?"
Saying the word made her smile, and it also distracted her from the kissing going on at the other end of the pool. It was amazing how deepness of water was separating the two groups, like they didn't even know the other existed.

Raquel smiled, thinking. "I'm not sure either...I'll have to think on it..." She proclaimed with a definate nod and a poke to his nose before kissing it directly. "It is easier to handle shorter, but I can do more with it long, so I'm stuck." She sighed with a ho hum attitude, just enjoying being in his hold.
Richard shrugged casually, wrapping his arms about her 'tummy' in which he loved. "I just do. I can't explain it. So petite and ivory, lovely, and makes me smile." He gave her a little tickle. "Just like the rest of you." He smiled cheerfully, kissing her forehead.

"You think on it." Damian's gaze strayed to Richard and Lorey. They looked so peaceful with each other, so comfortable. They certainly looked like they belonged together, and perhaps already married. Did he and Raquel look like that when they were standing alone?
"Richard," he suddenly called out. "If you're teaching her how to swim, there are pool inflatables around here. They might help..."
A smile was offered in the hopes what he had accumulated might actually help, though deep down he was jealous. Of what, he wasn't sure.
Lorey giggled and squirmed, like the child she really wasn't. "I can relate to that... You make me smile, too." And she kissed him.
"What's next in this swimming business, though? I think I'm determined to get all this right."
Which was when Damian called out about swimming things, making Lorey think of all those times she'd seen small children with inner tubes around their arms at the public pool. She sincerely hoped she wouldn't be told to wear those, because there was no chance of it happening.

Raquel furrowed her brow, mostly out of thinking to herself. She pushed herself up and onto the edge of the pool again,dripping little drops of the water onto Damian as she rung out her hair.
Richard smiled at the thought of Lorey using little inflatables. "That...would be really cute..." He mumbled to himself, distracted momentarily within his little inner mind theater. "Erm, but yes, only if you think you nee them..>" he offered, though was pushing for her to, wanting to see how adorable she'd be. "Bu the next step is strokes. Its just moving your arms and legs rhythmically to push the water away from you, and give you motion...watch." He crouched down slightly, pushing the water away form him with his arms, though he didn't move form his spot. "Start with that before we make you use your feet too ok?" He said coming up behind her. "I'll help you and make sure you dont sink or float off alright?"

And once again, Lorey put her complete trust in Richard before trying her hand at swimming. There were a few awkward starts, and a few desperate clings to Richard for fear of sinking in the slightly deeper water, but Lorey was alright and did well her first time around.
Damian pulled himself out of the water as well, though he began walking off towards the stash of pool toys. Why he had them brought, he'd no idea. Perhaps in some world he thought he'd entertain guests, but that was soon becoming very unlikely.
"Here," he said, throwing an inner tube into the water. Everything else was something akin to a floating pool mattress or small inflatable boat for sunbathing.

Raquel looked over her shoulder. "For Lorey or...?" She asked, swishing her feet around a bit in the water.
Richard nodded, trying to take things slow. "There, you've got it...keep going." He encouraged with a loving touch, making sure she wouldn't fall or take in water at all.

"This one's for you," Damian said, dragging out a boat-like one. It was big enough for two people, with a clear bottom and small sides so no one rolled off. He jumped in first, then paddled over to her on the side. "Care to take a boat ride with me?" he asked with a little grin. "I won't tip you off the side, sailor's promise."
And with that promise, convincing or not, he held out his hand to Raquel.
Lorey did, though tired rather quickly. There were just some things that tired her out, and swimming would be one of them.
"It's going to be awhile," she mumbled, rather annoyed with herself. "I'm still tired after hat happened..."

Raquel wasn't sure if she could trust him, but took his hand anyway, still a bit nervous. "A-alright, but I swear...you trick me and I'll..." She furrowed her brow, not sure what she'd do. "Well...It juts wont be pleasant." She gave him a sly smile before slipping into the boat, grabbing him tightly. But she managed to stay composed long enough to get herself upright, still clinging to Damian's arm frightfully. "I'm good." She gave him a weak smile, and a thumbs up.
Richard on the other hand held Lorey back up and brought her to the shallow end. "Maybe you should have a rest, it's not safe if you get too tired and cant hold yourself up...lets take a break." He pushed not wanting her to exert herself too much.

Damian laid back upon his back, eyes closed, and arm still around Raquel. She was so frightened... if he could just get her to relax, she might be alright.
"You're not going to fall out," he murmured. "You're not going to sink... We are just going to float. The worst that could happen is that we hit the side of the pool and bounce off. So no worries from you, love."
He gave her a little squeeze. With his eyes closed, he could almost believe that they were one hundred percent happy. Almost.
"Alright." To the shallow end they went again. She was feeling tired and a bit cold, but being in the pool, she found, was fun. Despite the stinging in her eyes, everything was fine.
"Thanks for teaching me and being so patient," she said as she hopped around a bit in the water. "I don't think I'd feel so comfortable if it were someone else holding me up, you know?"

Raquel slowly relaxed her tight hold on him, resting her head on his chest. She found herself begin to actually enjoy herself, closing her eyes as well.But she till held his free hand, loving just being this close. The only thing she hated about all this, was that it couldn't last. It seemed that with her and Damian, happy times just refused to stay for very long. Making her tense and worried when things were ok.
Recently, she had been worried about their relationship in whole. She too had been looking at Lorey and Richard and was wondering how they could be so happy. It was at times like those she analyzed her and Damian's place. Raquel had never had a decent relationship before, making her cling to this desperately, possibly making things worse...
They weren't always on the same page. This morning was a good instance of that. When they were both apologizing, Raquel was apologizing for her emotional tirades and troubled past that kept her from indulging in Damian, while he was simply apologizing for getting naturally excited when she was messing with him. It was things like that, that gave her doubt, and more worry. She wished she could just make him happy already, but felt there was this strange wall blocking them form becoming completely happy.
She tried to push these thoughts far away and focus ion on the sound the water was making, or even just his own breathing and heartbeat. Anything but these negative thoughts...
Richard took a seat on the stairs leading out of the water, motioning for Lorey to join him. "I'm more than happy to oblige. I promised remember? And what kind of teacher would I be if I got impatient with you hm?" He smiled, hoping she would come join him in his arms for even a moment.

It was a good thing thoughts made no noise, because Damian's mind was buzzing just as much as Raquel's. Their thoughts practically mirrored, the small difference being that he was worried about himself and his own actions. Raquel didn't seem to understand how much he used people in general, not just women. He was the rich b*****d of Veratia... but this upcoming Gala would show them all. Or he hoped. All he'd noticed was that he was not nearly so biting in his words or gestures after he'd met Raquel. What would have earned people a very snide and hurtful remark only earned a look nowadays...
But Lorey was just happy while everyone else worried. Of course she obliged Richard on the steps by falling into a hug and a kiss.
"I'm glad you keep your promises. Many people wouldn't do that for me..."
Even Damian had broken promises back when she worked for him. He'd promised to take her dancing across the stars and all sorts of nonsense. Richard just promised to teach her how to swim, and he did.

"Well you can always count on me to love..." He said softly, giving her a little kiss, then another, hating to not be in contact with her for too long.
Raquel overheard the other twos banter back and forth, making her smile sadly as she held onto Damian a bit tighter. She secretly wondered if the two had their turbulent parts of the relationship in the background as often as she and Damian did. Though by their constant happiness, she doubted it.

Lorey gave him sweet little kisses between words. She was just a little embarrassed because Damian and Raquel were floating around nearby, but it gave her a little thrill. Let them watch, she thought.
"Me, too. Don't you forget it."
"I love you," Damian whispered. He was well aware of the little love scene going on only feet away. "Tell me what is on your mind. Anything at all..."
Please, he thought. Please tell me how to make this better and how to see you happy again. It might have been better for him to just say those words himself, but Damian could never admit when he was scared to.

Richard smiled as he tilted her chin so he could look at her face. "God I love you..." He said as if in awe, which he was. He just loved how at random moments, he just felt his heart practically burst from happiness around Lorey. It was a strange feeling he hadn't felt in years. He missed it greatly, though now it held something else special to it. He didn't know what, but there was something...
Raquel didn't move. She didn't look up at him. She desperately wanted to just spill all th e little worries and troubles on her mind, her paranoia over their relationship, but..she knew there was no use in just worrying Damian over probably nothing.
"...Damian...Darling...You know that if you ever stopped being a part of my life...I wouldn't kill myself right? You've shown me that life is worth living as long as I make it. I see that now and wouldn't try to end it all ever again...nor would I turn back to my old life. I want more now. And it's all thanks to you...So...I'd be ok.....You know that right?" She asked quietly, opening her eyes to look down at the tranquil water idle, letting her hand touch it and cause small ripples as they floated along.
