"Like you could." Mimi said outloud to Korsu with a glare, while clutching her sycthe. Whatever Hiro. She was getting peeved. She didn't like being told what to do, or not being able to help friends. It made her worried and angry and sad all at the same time.

Varnis watched on as the fight had continued. Seeing the powers that the king had, he couldn't help but want to intervene in the fight. A small ball of fire formed in his hand for a few seconds as the flames grew a bit stronger, before vanishing. He watched, and wanted to do something, but knew that he couldn't do anything to help either side of the fight. He still wanted to fight for the king, but knew that it was wrong what the king was doing. He wanted to help the stranger that the king was fighting, but didn't want to die for some one he did not know. He still sat there contemplating on what he should do. "If no one does something soon... Some one is going to get killed." He sighed as he watched the fight.

The barbs now surrounded Hiro on all sides. This will only give me a minute, Annexus thought.
He cracked the vial, the liquid inside seeping into the blade. The barbs all struck at once.

When all the barbs struck out at him at once, Hiro thought, I can't avoid them all! He tried to avoid them all, but he was hit multiple times, though they were all only flesh wounds, but they were deep enough to cause bleeding. "Nng..." he said.

Got him! Annexus smiled. Now, to wear him down. Annexus knew that what was contained in the vial would take effect rapidly, so he had to make this quick. He retracted all the barbs, with such speed that it almost created a wind vortex.
He cocked his arm, ready to swing at Hiro as he ran full speed toward him.

Hiro dodged away from Annexus, leaving a small trail of blood. Suddenly, he couldn't move and collapsed. Though try as he might, Hiro couldn't even lift a finger. Wh-What? I can't move... I'm paralyzed! he thought.

From the stadiums, because it was such a close call, everyone cheered as they thought Annexus made his kill.
Annexus stood over Hiro, whispering. "Soon, you will cease breathing, and your heart will stop. But fear not . . . it isn't death. You will awaken elsewhere.

Then everything went black for Hiro.

Mina nearly stopped breathing as she got a bad feeling. "Something just happened to Hiro," she said. She tried to run to the arena to help him, but stopped herself. If he beat Hiro, then I have no chance, she thought.

Korsu stiffened as he could no longer hear Hiro's thoughts. "Something is very wrong." he said as his head turned toward where the battle was taking place. His eye's narrowed as he debated whether or not he should go check it out.
