Lore had not been expecting that voice in his head, but so he looked up from where he was staring off into space with surprise. He wondered how long he had been out and turned heel to return. Walking in a very quick pace rather than run.
After all he didn't know what it was about, but fortunately he didn't move too far away from the house. There was a part of him that wanted to run, but another part of him that said it would be okay.

Elnara stood up from the bed and made her way carefully to the door, where she found Alyse about to enter the room.
"So Lore isn't back yet, then," she murmured in disappointment, holding the doorway for balance. "But I'm sure he won't be long ..."

"I called him back already," Alyse assured her, "he shouldn't be long. He said he wasn't going to go far. Are you all right? Is there something you need?"
Her eyes were anxious, and despite her young age it was clear that she was very mature.

Lore opened the front door only to find the ground floor quiet. It seemed like Alyse was with Elnara. So as quickly as he could without tripping over himself, which just would not do at all he hurried down the hall.
"Elnara?" he poked his head through the open door way.

Elnara was about to reply to Alyse when Lore appeared behind her, and a wave of relief washed over her. She smiled faintly and placed one hand on her stomach - just at the moment that her muscles decided to contract once more. She gasped softly, but as it passed she looked up at Lore again, her smile growing wider.
"I think," she murmured softly, "that we should ... call Ulani ..."

Alyse's eyes lit up brightly, and she turned on her heel and ran towards the door.
"I'll get her!" she called over her shoulder as she went. "I'll be back with her as soon as I can!"
And she disappeared out the door.

Lore smiled widely at Elnara's annoucement, he made his way over to her bed. Once more taking his place beside her.
"So... it's time?"

Elnara sat down again and giggled softly, leaning against Lore and laughing into his shoulder.
"I think so," she murmured happily. "I ... I'm so ... excited ... but nervous ... and afraid ... but you'll be here with me, won't you?"
She turned her eyes upwards to look at him, and they were sparkling brightly. "You won't leave me?"

"I'll be right here," Lore assured her putting his hand upon hers.
After all how could he go anywhere while she gave brith? Of course unless he got shooed out.

Elnara smiled and took his hand in hers, holding it tightly. She would be all right, then ... as long as he was with her.
"I know you've done research on pregnancies," she murmured, "but do you know anything about the birthing process? I've ... surprisingly never thought of it until just now ..."
She knew there was pain, and a few of the basics, but little else, and nothing in detail.

Just then the front door opened and Alyse returned with Ulani - of course, having called her right away, she hadn't had to go all of the way home to find her.
As they entered the house, Ulani gave Alyse a list of items to collect, and her granddaughter ran off to do as she was told while Ulani made her way to the bedroom.

Lore had to admit he didn't research too much on the birthing process... that hadn't been where he had been looking for the so called disease at the time. Since it was something from the womb, so it had never occured to him to.
"Then it'll be an experience for the both of us," he admitted to her, "Because you're right... that is an area where I'm lacking."

Ulani entered the room and saw Lore and Elnara sitting together, and she relaxed a bit.
"Well, I can see you called me good and early," she laughed, moving to stand at the end of the bed so that she could watch Elnara easily. "What are the signs?"
She was in no rush anymore. From what she could tell, there was still plenty of time.

Elnara smiled up at Ulani, still holding Lore's hand tightly.
"Contractions," she replied, "more than usual ... and more painful ... stronger ..."
To the point where she couldn't breathe when they happened.

Lore shifted a bit so he could sit comfortably beside Elnara. He had a feeling he would be there for a while yet. Though he wasn't quite sure what to do other than to be support.
