To some people (aka my mother) they represent a lack of personal hygiene.
That's why you clean it every few days, what the ******** else?

Politics. Obviously not my strong suit. xp

Pyre: Our education system is flawed, but then again I could have put forth more effort to learn and retain. Maybe I'm not the best example of an educated American . sweatdrop

I'm not saying I'm a dumbass. I'm politely stating I don't know jack

Yeah, well when you have two Americans saying they don't know, and then a European posting the answer... I think it kinda shows where our education system is lacking.

The Cuban Missile Crisis was not, comparatively, that big of a deal in our history. I don't remember it being stressed in school. Hell, I'm not sure if it was ever mentioned by one of my teachers at all. Maybe for, like, three seconds in my AP U.S history class. Don't expect me to retain much when we're going through four chapters a week. I know it mostly from being stuck at my grandma's while they watch their political shows. It always goes back to ripping on the Kennedy's somehow.

And how many leaders of other countries could you name? Maybe the main players in the World Wars? The USSR during the Cold War? I think most of what I know of the French Revolution came from actual French class - not World History. The Bolshevik Revolution.. I don't remember it being touched on since elementary school.

Our education in that field is very limited to our own country. And even then, usually only the successes.

I just got the image in my head of you tearing off a pair of button snap jogging pants. I should go to bed now. To many random thoughts of tear away clothing. gonk

I'm not a male stripper. And I hate windpants. They make too damned much noise. I like being able to sneak up on people, thank you.

Huh, it received quite a lot of attention during my education. It was considered one of the "hottest times" of the Cold War.

Make that 3 Americans - I didn't know the answer either.

Truthfully I don't know much about any history. Maybe it's partly due to the fact I didn't live in the US for half of my school years, but that's really no excuse.

It also doesn't help that I've never been interested enough to memorize things beyond a test. I'm equally likely to remember the organs in the endocrine system as who the president after Lincoln was. No one makes a fuss about you having to learn these things.

The only history I bother to memorize are related to other concepts where history isn't the main objective. Like, understanding WWI and II might help me grasp the influences of contemporary classical music in Europe. Or, understanding Japan's politics during the Meiji era might help me understand the literary background of a novel I'm reading. Or, having a general idea of the history of civil rights in the US might help me understand Asian American media. Stuff like that.

Small facts aren't my forte either, unless they really interest me or they're being repeated over and over and over again. Like Kennedy making the Russians go home or that the profile depth of a tire in Holland has to be 1.4mm.

I KNEW THE ANSWER! Mostly because I did a project on Khrushchev in 11th grade, but still. e ue

I wish photobucket still took swfs... My brother did a cute little animation of the Cuban Missile Crisis for his Spanish class. lol

Cuban Missile Crisis?
PostPosted: Wed Dec 17, 2008 5:11 pm

FFFFFF YES. I got a B in chemistry. Not even a B minus. Happy day : D

We didn't pay too much attention to history, either... We DID have AP European History in 10th grade, but I don't think a single person passed the test.

Kennedy. Or is this some kind of trick question and were you supposed to reply Khrushchev? wtf idgi

The former, it was asking for U.S. President. I should've put Khrushchev to at least get one of the leaders but I have a hard enough time spelling your name. gonk

The only history I know are the world wars, because it gets played over, and over and over again.
Talk about beating a dead horse. rolleyes
That and my birthday is exactly the day after Pearl Harbor just not for 46 years later. xp

Finally finished the summary and got a B for the class.
So now I have 40 ******** credits in my name bitches. pirate

Now lets see how well I'll do next semester pushing not only my high school classes but Art and Sign Language.
Will I break or will I get 40 or more for the Spring semester? Only time will tell. emo

So... the Christmas event has started and we still have no gold shop update. Really, Gaia? I don't give a ******** how much you're hurting for money. When you have the time to update the cash shop three times a week, every week, all month, you have time to update the regular stores, too. No excuse.
