Politics. Obviously not my strong suit.
xp Pyre: Our education system is flawed, but then again I could have put forth more effort to learn and retain. Maybe I'm not the best example of an educated American .

I'm not saying I'm a dumbass. I'm politely stating I don't know jackYeah, well when you have two Americans saying they don't know, and then a European posting the answer... I think it kinda shows where our education system is lacking.
The Cuban Missile Crisis was not, comparatively, that big of a deal in our history. I don't remember it being stressed in school. Hell, I'm not sure if it was ever mentioned by one of my teachers at all. Maybe for, like, three seconds in my AP U.S history class. Don't expect me to retain much when we're going through four chapters a week. I know it mostly from being stuck at my grandma's while they watch their political shows. It always goes back to ripping on the Kennedy's somehow.
And how many leaders of other countries could you name? Maybe the main players in the World Wars? The USSR during the Cold War? I think most of what I know of the French Revolution came from actual French class - not World History. The Bolshevik Revolution.. I don't remember it being touched on since elementary school.
Our education in that field is very limited to our own country. And even then, usually only the successes.

I just got the image in my head of you tearing off a pair of button snap jogging pants. I should go to bed now. To many random thoughts of tear away clothing.
gonk I'm not a male stripper. And I hate windpants. They make too damned much noise. I like being able to sneak up on people, thank you.
