The door slid open silently, leading them into a bright, expansive hangar. Hyro pushed awkwardly through the group and led them to a hovercar. "I'll drive," he said cheerfully.
Rufus nodded. "Good plan. I can handle the gunners too, if that scares the rookie," he said with a sneer at Anatoly.

"The rookie doesn't get scared. The rookie does the scaring," Anatoly replied. "But if you want to chance the gunners spraying and hitting us, sure. I'll do it."

Nathan raised an eyebrow, but didn't object. In fact, he was a little nervous to do so, given the nature of the vehicle. What if it decided it could do something that an ordinary car couldn't? Wouldn't that be a fun surprise. He threw himself him, checking for some sort of seatbelt.

Blaine walked up to the hovercar and took his time examining it before hopping in one of the backseats and interlacing his hands on his lap.

Anna beamed and ran to the hover car, hoping in beside Nathan. She turned to her friend with a large, excited grin on her face: A hover car! she signed enthusastically.

"That's stupid," Rufus said, sobering suddenly. "It's completely stupid to not be scared. Fear is a powerful emotion, as I'm sure you've learned. And without it, you are significantly weaker." He looked up at the sky, sighing softly. "I can think of some things you should be scared of, at the very least."
Hyro checked to make sure they were buckled up, and off they went. Destination: the town where Blazer Black was already in waiting. The Guardians had no idea yet that BB was ahead of them on this one.

"Nah, see," Anatoly said. "I'm not as scared of the gunners as I would otherwise be because I noticed that." He gestured at a squarish concrete... thing. "Whichever way they come, I can take cover behind that. And there are plenty of things I'm afraid of. Panicking people with miniguns without cover is one of those. Panicking them with cover, not as much."

Rufus shook his head. "You don't get it. But you will." He stood suddenly, pulling up his sleeves. "They're coming soon. Are you guys ready?"

Anna grinned widely: riding in a hover car was so much fun! She wasn't quite sure where they were going, so she simply enjoyed the ride.

"This sounds like one of those things it would be strategically sound to inform me of before and not after," Anatoly pointed out. "Otherwise, I'm ready. Though I'd like to know your armament, naturally."

Rufus smiled nastily. "Of course you would. But a good player never reveals his hand before playing his cards." He began to walk towards a tree that was about twenty feet from Anatoly's chosen cover. "You'll see it soon."

"A good soldier inspires trust in his squadmates," Anatoly said, just loud enough for Rufus to hear as he walked away. He moved towards his cover.

Bitong looked between the two, and decided he would just stand where he was, and pray to god that Anatoly and Rufus would do their parts. "Well, looks like the party's about to start." Bitong said with a grin as he swiped the mysticker on his shoulder to life.

Rufus laughed a bit. "That's your other problem. You seem to have an issue with identifying what things really are." He left the comment hanging on the air as he activated his own Mysticker. A group of armored cars were just visible around the corner a block down, approaching the three.
The Guardians were still on the road. ETA: 20 minutes.

Anatoly waited. The gunners were scanning the crowd. Anatoly made a strange face. The first gunner's gaze passed over him, went away, came back again. Anatoly fired Skulltap at 9 seconds, not expecting to have much chance of making eye contact with the second gunner. The man he targeted sprayed bullets as Anatoly ducked behind the pillar.
