"Let's go with that I'm absolutely out of my mind," I smiled, laughing. We walked down the broken concrete sidewalk until reaching a small shop. Although it was closed it's awning was enough of a shelter from the teeming rain. Thunder could be heard in the background as lightning danced across the skies. I looked to Asher and carefully set him down on the steps that led up to the door. "Would you happen to know any dry places to go?"

Lillith pulled off her sweater and handed it to Alexia. "Here this will help keep you warm." she said, ignoring the cold that suddenly hit her as Lillith's chest was now only covered with a sports bra.

"There's a bar two blocks over, but this will have be do until the rain lets up a little." The streets were cold and empty, as if a scene from a horror movie. I left my arm wrapped around Dusk's shoulder, supporting myself on her. "Didn't plan on spending the night on the other side of town with me, did you?" I could tell she was out of place and probably didn't feel up to conversation, but I had to lighten her up if I was ever going to get her to spend the night in a bar full of drunken hobos and criminals.

I nodded watching the rain come down. My grip on Asher's shoulder tightened as another roll of thunder passed over us. It was stupid to be a vampire but yet afraid by thunder. Lightning itself never bothered me due to it's mesmerizing beauty, but the noise it created was enough for me to cower in fear. I rested my cheek on his shoulder and closed my eyes. "No, I didn't" I spoke softly, trying to keep myself from thinking of the sounds.

I pulled her close as she quivered under the roaring wrath of the thunder. "I would put my jacket over your head so that the rain doesn't drench your locks of light brown hair but looks like that's out of the question," I said, looking down at my topless self. I looked at the rain, which continued to fall steadily without a break. "Might as well make a run for it now." I took her hand and sprinted, well, with a limp, that is, toward the bar. As soon as we made it there, I opened the door for her and we walked in. I prayed in my head that she wouldn't run out of the door the moment we were in.

I was shocked of his sudden jolt to the bar. He swung the large wooden doors open and out rushed a warm breeze. For that second I didn't care what was inside, just that it was warm, and if I remembered correctly warmth was good. The tile floors squeaked under my shoes while I let my eyes wander. The walls were black, matching the tables, chairs and bar counter. Candle holders were mounted on the walls over each table, providing just enough light. A jukebox roared at the far end, sending the waves of the bass to create a vibration across the floor. The faces of those around us were hidden by the darkness, but I figured that would be a good thing...for now at least. My eyes scanned the long room until I found a vacant booth and sat down on the side facing opposite the door. Running my fingers through my hair, I pushed it back so that it now longer covered my pale face.

I rested my leg to the left of me, sitting across from Dusk. The waitress, a tall slender woman with tight jeans and a belly shirt handed us menus, mainly for drinks and soups. "If you's wanna, Asha' we could get you somethin' to dry yourself wit'." she said, chomping her gum. "No thanks, Celia, I'm fine." I said. She shrugged, "Alright tell me when you's ready to orda'." I looked over to Dusk, who seemed even more out of place in this dump.

Alexia looked at the sweater and handed it back to Lill. "Sweetie, I really can't take this. I'll by fine" What she really did not want to say is that she would most likely never get the garment back, because that very moment Alexia was plotting how she would save the captive child. The only way her plan would work is if she died. "Why don't you go see where Mallory and his father wandered off to?" She asked and gave a pained smile. She pushed her self up to stand against the wall.

Lance sighed a rain started to run down his hair and face. down the street he could see that a bar was still open so he ran quickly to get out of the rain. He pushed open the heavy door and once inside glanced around to see if anyone from his side was seeking refuge as well. His eyes widened when he spied The child named Dawn or maybe Dusk sitting at a both. the other figure was covered by shadow sealing their identity away. Lance pulled his hood over his head and sat in the booth behind them. listening carefully to their conversation.

Confused, I watched the woman walk away. I picked up my menu and glanced over it. My focus flickered back and forth from the girl to the menu. After much time spent reading the same sentence over and over I slammed the booklet on the table and glared at Asher. "You know her?" I asked, realizing it was an obvious statement; having him know her name and vise versa. I looked over to the bar only to see her staring intently at him.
The closing of the door moved my eyes towards the figure who entered watching as he sat behind them. I kept my words quiet, curious of the man who entered. "You know her?" I repeated, but much quieter this time around.

"Who, Celia?" I said, though it was obvious that was who she was talking about, "Yeah, ex-girlfriend. But just about every guy on this side of the city can say they've spent at least one night with her." Just as I finished that sentence Celia walked over with a basket of fresh rolls. She set it onto our table and took out a pad of paper and pen to write our orders down. "Oops," she said, dropping the pen. It rolled behind her, under another table. She bent over, the lower back of her skinny jeans plunging out a bit. She stayed bent over, as if showing off, right in my face, that I shouldn't have broken it off with her. "Just two beers," I said. She stood up, leaving the pen alone. "Oh okay then."

"Whore," I muttered under my breath so she wouldn't hear, and hopefully neither would Asher. I kept my eyes on the table so he couldn't see the choler in my eyes. I moved my hands under the table clenching them into fists. I winced slightly as my nails began to dig into my palms making blood ooze out steadily. I quickly pressed my the bottom of my shirt against it hoping Asher or any other vampires in the room would smell it; trouble would arise if any of them did. I smiled at Asher, trying to keep him from realizing what happened.

I smiled back at her, but something began to smell. Not a bad smell, but not a good one either. One that made me horribly want to sink my teeth into her soft little neck. It was definitely her blood I smelt, and it was an aroma that drove me mad. "Dusk, why don't we go outside a moment? It's stuffy in here, and the rain has let up, somewhat." I kept my cool, there was no way she could tell what I had in mind. A few men walked by winking at her passively, which insanely made me want to take her out alone.
