"That's stupid! Oh my god, doesn't the legal system have anything better to do than make up new reasons to arrest people? With all the stupid crap I can legally do to my body, being bitten is really their greatest concern?" Immediately after this short rant, Teddy fell into a sullen silence, still slouched down in his seat with his arms crossed over his chest. What had he done that everything including the law was just working against him? True, the law hadn't actually changed yet, but why was it even under consideration? He could go downtown tomorrow and put a huge bull-ring in his nose, but if Markus bit him the freaking law was concerned. Because it wasn't enough hiding from his parents, the rest of his family and his friends. Teddy was more upset than angry, but angry was less embarrassing. He hadn't been dealing with any of his stress and now it was bubbling at the surface because of something that couldn't even affect him yet. It was stupid, Teddy told himself repeatedly, but he couldn't help it. He mumbled some excuse and abruptly rose from the table to head to the restroom. Not that a restroom in a bar was any less public than the bar itself, but it would have to do.

Anita sighed, and looked at the waitress gratefully as she brought her drink to her. She handed the waitress several bills. "Look, just keep them coming until I say stop." she said with a serious tone of voice. She didn't mean to make the poor kid stress out, but he needed to know. She picke dup the glass and took a long drink, chugging down half the glass. It wasn't normal for her to get wasted, but she just felt like she needed it tonight.

[Let's see. Markus' dancing friend has joined us, as has Ren. Met Ren's fairy, Anita seems to be intent on getting waisted, and informed Teddy about the government thinking about changing the legal biting age to 21. She wasn't done, but he got upset and ran off for the men's room. Oh, and Teddy called Anita /short/. LOL I think that's all of it....]

Anita nodded her head and Markus chased after Teddy. She still hand't heard what, if anything, he wanted to talk to her about. Probably won't help when she tells them that there's more to the new law that is being talked about in D.C., but even though her reputation is that she's a cold-blooded deliverer of execution notices, she didn't want Markus and Teddy to risk getting into trouble. So she sat there, quietly drinking her burbon and coke.

I sighed in his ear, kissing his neck. "I may have bitten you, but I didn't turn you. Besides, it's only two more years. If I even want to turn you. Why would I want to steal your mortality? I'm not so selfish that I'd do that just to keep you with me for eternity." Even though the faintest edge of anger had crept into my voice, I kept my arms around Teddy. "It takes three bites within a short space of time to turn someone," I said. "I've bitten you twice in three days. I think we're good. I'll just have to wait through tonight. Relax with the blood consumption and enjoy the... other things." I kissed his neck again to emphasize what I meant.

((I know my posts are really bad - on EVERYTHING - tonight, but I'm just reallllllly out of it D: ))

I sighed. I hadn't heard much about biting minors - just biting, not turning - being against the law, but then again, I didn't care much about politics anymore. If they decided to exterminate us, then so be it. I'd like it to be a surprise.
"What else is bothering you?" I asked, unwilling to relinquish my hold on him. "We can be here all night. And if you don't tell me, I won't give you anything... good tonight." I grinned faintly at this.

Anita was still at the table, silently drinking her burbon and coke. She tilted the glass back, draining the last of the drink, before setting the cup down. She was getting very quiet, and very sullen.

"No," I said, voice and face both becoming thoughtful. I kept my grip on Teddy, but my gaze wandered, staring through the wall, rather than at it. An idea was forming. A very obvious one, one that Teddy would immediately shoot down, but an idea nonetheless. "I say you introduce me to your parents," I said, turning him around so he could face me. I held a hand up to keep him from protesting right away. "And if they don't like it, you can come live with me at Danse Macabre." I grinned wide; the idea was nearly flawless. Teddy was a legal adult; he could live on his own if he wanted to. Granted, asking him to live with me after three days was a little forward, but... well, it didn't matter. At least not now.
