Sam stayed perfectly silent, listening closely to the beautiful melodies emanating from the piano under command of Marie's fingertips. He couldn't help being reminded of Amy as the music went on. She likes to play the piano, as well, he thought.

As the bell rang to signal the beginning of second period, Sam reluctantly rose from his front-row-centre seat. He smiled at Marie again, saying, "Thank you for allowing me to listen to you, milady! I'll see you in Drama!" With that, he left the auditorium for the Physical Science classroom. Sam was a bit surprised when he made it there without incident. The class went by quickly, as did Psychology. From there, he moved on to Drama. He chose a seat near the centre, laughing inwardly as Lite received several demerits. When the lunch bell sounded, Sam made his way to the cafeteria, filling a tray with mashed potatoes, lightly-steamed carrots and broccoli, smoked salmon, a roll, and applesauce.

((Again, sorry for the double-post.))

He grabbed a glass, poured some cranberry juice into it, and started for a table. He spotted Sergey out of the corner of his eye, and deviated from his path to strike up conversation. "Oi, Sergey," the young Empath said. "I know I'm probably one of the last people you want to see right now, but I think you and I have something to discuss." He sat in a nearby chair at an empty table and motioned for Sergey to join him.

Marie waved Sam off as she gathered her music and things to head to Anatomy. She was a little frustrated to have not gotten any work done, but she had the rest of the year, really, to do what she wanted.

Anatomy was fun and interesting. Marie enjoyed science in a lot of ways. She was a curious person, so those classes always intrigued her. The bell rang all too soon before she knew it she was taking a seat in Japanese History. She saw Sergey enter and smiled smally with a blush… only to blush deeper moments later as he seemed to make sure to sit away from her. He must still be upset with me or something. Marie pondered. That bell came as well and Marie ignored Sergey as she left, assuming he just wanted to be left alone. Drama was amusing as she thought it would be. Sitting with Mal, Sam, and getting to know Lite and his ‘ways’.

Leaving the Drama classroom, Marie spotted Sergey making his way to the cafeteria for lunch. “Hey Sergey,” she acknowledged him and acted as if the morning never happened. It seemed like something he would have rather avoided, so why not ignore the event?

But then Sam had gotten to him first and Marie withdrew. Flustered a bit, she went back to the piano to work and see if she could get some time back that she had lost this morning. Maire climbed the stairs with a little less grace in her step.

Sergey jumped and visibly tensed as Marie said hello to him. He shuffled, embarrassed about having ignored her in history. He gulped and gave a little wave as he got his food and stepped out of the line to at least attempt to have a talk with her. "Hey Marie," he said a little thickly rubbing the back of his head, "I'm sorreh about vhat...happened earlier, I..." but he was stopped mid sentence as he heard Sam tell him that they needed to have a discussion and then he looked back and Marie was gone. He scowled and turned a full force glare on Sam. "You! Lev me alone!" he said pointing a threatening finger at him. He turned abruptly and saw Marie disappearing up the stairs to the auditorium and he followed after her, with his food. He entered, quietly as he could, and went down to take a seat in the front with his food. He liked music, and he had never heard her play before though apparently she did. He sat so he could listen to her.

Arkell sat with her back up against the building, away from the other people, though continuely scanning for anybody that she knew so that she could sit with him, but she didn't. She sighed, her shoulders slumping, first year of high school, and no friends just yet....figures.

Marie took Sergey’s presence unnoticed as she was already at the piano by the time he got there, slumped over her work on the piano. Literally. Marie was standing with some sheets spread on the top of the piano, bent over that, her back to the ‘audience’. She sighed audibly and took a seat at the piano bench once more.

She put some sheets up of something she’d recently been working on. The music she played for Sam was something she rode a year or two ago, when she first music made her more powerful with less energy.

No… this work was much more complex. Though, she has hit a block after the fifty-second measure. She began to play though. Its beginning was soft and dramatic, built fuller with a deafening base lines and linking melodies. She closed and eyes and simply played it with her entire body involved, concentrating and breathing a little heavier because this song was particularly busy and built and built feeling a climax about to come… and then nothing. Silence.

She had nothing after that measure. Everything she tried to write was mediocre and mundane. She stared at the pages quietly, playing with the tuff of hair at the end of her braid.

Sergey gulped, he couldn't help but look at Marie's backside, and gave a soft sigh. He was slightly dissappointed when she went and sat down, but that didn't as she began to play the piano and his smile returned, but then it abruptly stopped right at the climax and he felt sorely dissapointed. He stood up and walked up the stairs onto the stage and came up behind her to look over her shoulder at the sheet music. She hadn't written any more, and seemed to be having trouble with the composition. He coughed slightly and pointed at it over her shoulder speaking in a quieter bass than he usually did. "You should maybe try to go up. The song es very dark and low, so try going higher to throw it off maybe, while still keeping the bass backdrop?" He looked down at her, worriedly.

"Well, hell," Sam said, dumb-struck, as he took a bite out of the soft roll. He looked down at his lunch glumly and decided he wasn't going to eat it. The violet-locked teen tossed his food into the trash, stacked his tray atop the small tower of identical trays, and swiped two fresh rolls for Alwyn, in case she was hungry.

Sam's next destination was the infirmary. He arrived in a matter of minutes and knocked gently on Mrs. Ishida's door.

"Come in, Sam," Mrs. Ishida replied, recognising the unique knock. He obeyed, and took a seat in the small upholstered chair in front of the head nurse's spacious desk. "Your accent is back; what's troubling you?"

"Sergey Petrov. Or, rather, the awkward situation I've put myself in with him. He seems to think I'm flirting with someone he would rather I didn't. I tried to talk to him at lunch, but he gave me a rather vocal brush-off. Now I don't know what to do."

"The way you are, you'll likely keep trying until something works. I say, go with it."

"I see..."

Harmony sighed after searching around for a mintue and not recongizing anyone. She hadn't met much people, actually only two, so she wasn't surprised that she didn't know anyone eating. Taking a seat at am empty table, she began picking at her food. She didn't really care that she looked like a loser, sitting by herself, but she wasn't good at meeting new people.

"Sadly, Mrs. Ishida, you're right. I'll continue to drive the wedge deeper and deeper, until the pressure forces it back out."

"Things will work out, I'm sure." Mrs. Ishida smiled with that ever-comforting warmth. "Now, then, Would you like to visit miss Rowans?"

"Actually, that'll have to wait until this afternoon. I now know what I have to do."

"If she wakes up, I'll be sure to let her know you wanted to see her."

"Thank you, Mrs. Ishida." Sam rose from his comfortable perch and left the infirmary, heading for the auditorium, where he was sure he'd find Sergey and Marie. When he silently opened the door, just enough to slip in, he caught sight of the avian boy standing over the hypnotist, apparently helping her. Not wanting to interrupt, Sam stood in the darkness by the doors, watching the developments.

Marie jumped in her seat with a sort of squeak when she realized Sergey was there, and behind her. Her blush deeper as her moved over her and spoke softer. “Y-yes, well, I have thought of that too… it just hasn’t worked out the way I’ve wanted it to. But I defiantly see what you are saying and I agree it the right way to go.”

She ran one of her fingers across a few of the ivory keys, keeping her head facing away from him so he won’t see her blush… and just the fact he was so close. “Aren’t you hungry? I assume being bird-like you may have an adjusted appetite,” she tried to joke, speaking very softly and in almost her normal voice.

Sergey nodded a moment and he caught her blush just before she turned her face to hide it. "I see..." he said simply pulling his arm back to his side. When she made the light joke about his eating habits he gave a dark chuckle. "I am still very much a carnivore, I am bird like yes, but I am more akin to the prehistoric kind than todays twitter-bee's" He flashed her a 'hungry' smile before shaking his head and pointing down at his seat. "I brought my lunch vith meh anyvays, and vhat about you? Vhat are you eating leetle gurl?"

Marie looked at where she assumed he had come up the aisle to the stage, from. “Ah, well, I didn’t feel too hungry. Big breakfast. I usually don’t eat much in the morning.” She shuffled some papers around finding some of her nicer complete works. “I… could play for you while you eat. I have some songs that disrupt the vibrations in my voice so I can talk to you normally…” Marie took a certain piece and began playing. It was also a dark piece. But then she spoke. ”Hello…”

The sound was sweet, and soft, a great contrast to what she played along the keys. Her voice was still extraordinarily alluring, but it was not hypnotic to the point of making a mental connection. ”This is the real me… it’s nice to get out… without making somebody take my words literally. You could say this part of female puberty, voice changing, I mean, went very differently for me,” she laughed softly, fluttering and melodic. She still refused to turn and face him, even though she knew this piece by heart as well. Marie already felt a bit exposed doing this, so facing him would only make her completely embarrassed and freak.

Sergey blinked and stared at her as she started playing and then...spoke, normally. He shivered slightly at the tone, and he could tell that if she wasn't playing the music, he'd probably be gone. He stepped to her left side and motioned for her to move down on the bench so he could sit down beside her on the bench. When he had settled himself he looked at her hands and then up at the sheet music. "Forgev me, et has been long time sence I have played." he remarked as he picked up his left hand and set them on the keys, his eyes set back up on the sheet music as he took the lowest bass line on the peice, his large calloused fingers plunking against the keys as he warmed them up to get himself use to the feeling again.

Marie slid down, playing the upper register with her righ hand, giggling a little. "When did you learn to play?" she put her free left hand down on the bench, her pinky landed on top of Sergey's pinky.

Marie quickly retrieved her hand, missing a few notes in her fright. She ended up settling the hand away in her lap and getting back into the music, looking at the sheets along to Sergey in order to catch up where she got lost. Once she had and it was safe to talk, she said, "I always have the most trouble reading a bass clef. I'm more of a trebble clef girl... as most girls are."
