Pyroth walked along behind Em, trying to ignore the twinges of pain in his side whenever he breathed in and the bruises on his legs, complaining wasn't worth it, he'd done worse to himself and lived.

He noted her stopping, but simply assumed that she was checking the direction of the river, hallucinations were the last thing on his mind - and had been for some time, he desperately needed some 'weed in the near future, it brought everything into focus.

He nodded as she pointed out the direction of the river proper "Good good."

And that was that, he walked.

As they went he took the time to try out some idle chat. "So, where did you come here from?"

Of course, Emerwyn was not under the influence of drugs. She did not know where these visions had come from; she hadn't given it much thought at all, shrugging it off for the moment as the effects of her extreme physical and emotional stress.

Idle chat... Yes, that's all it was. It had been long enough. She didn't have to fall apart every time she thought of what had brought her here.
"I was living in New York City, in an apartment above a bookshop. I was the co-owner. I lived with my... companion.
In fact," she breathed deep. "He is what brought me here."

She didn't go on; she'd wait to see if Pyroth was actually interested in what she was saying.

Pyroth was interested in what she was saying, very much so. Hearing stories of the outside world reminded him that it did still exist out there, probably unaware of their plight. It was comforting and worrying all at once.

"MmmHmm" he nodded, subtly hinting that he was listening

"How was that, if you don't mind me prying?"

It actually felt good to talk about it.

"Jerrick had gone to England, my homeland, to be with our friend - her mother had just passed - and I had to stay behind and mind the shop.

It was only for three weeks."

"Three weeks, I promise."

"...But, then, he didn't come back. I didn't hear anything... until about a month after he'd gotten on the plane. One week late. Ketta called. She said, she said he never made it to England.
Two more months we searched... I stayed in the U.S.
She called me again. There was a lead; they couldn't say any more... I-I took a boat across the ocean. I never made it to England, either."

New RP~

After Ian had gone off alone he stopped by a bush and sighed rubbing his head with a palm. For a long bit he watched the daylight fade and later fell into a troubled sleep.

~~~
He all night and through the day. When he woke up again it was night. In his nostrils he could smell a very sweet scent and he inhaled it deeply, put into a trancelike state with its potent odor. He yawned and felt himself wandering towards the source of the smell, knowing that it was Emerwyn and not caring of the consequences of meeting her.
He was more deer than human right now, drawn by a sweet female deer. His stag instincts were dominant and right now nothing mattered except finding the other deer.
Chana was wandering through the forest, afraid of most of the things around her. The forest was...very creepy at night, and she couldn't be sure if she heard water. It really hadn't been so bad when she'd been able to sleep by a river...but now the place was sheer terror.
And she was sure she heard something moving out there. Heart racing, she froze as completely as she could and strained her nose and ears. She still heard the sounds of some big animal moving...and then she caught a scent. It was familiar, but in her fear she couldn't quite place it.
Hesitantly, she called out, bracing herself if the need to run arose. "Hello?"
Ian nearly jumped out of his hide when he heard another voice coming from the dark jungle. His mind was jumbled, who was it? The voice was familiar but he couldn't quite remember. . .
"Hello?" he called back uncertainly unsure if he was even facing towards the voice what with the way things echoed among the trees.
The smell still lingered and his nose twitched. He wanted to be going to Emerwyn, not be waylaid by someone in the jungle.
An islander! Some of Chana's fear faded into the background at the sound of the voice. It was male, and vaguely familiar, like the scent. She looked around, trying to determine where the voice was coming from. If only everything didn't look so much alike in the darkness...
"Who's out there, anyway?" she asked. Maybe if he spoke again she could get over to him...and he could help her find a river. Just the thought of a body of water - even if it needed sorely to be slowed down - calmed her further.
He moved towards where he thought the voice was. All he could smell was Emerwyn so he couldn't identify her by scent so he moved closer, trying to see see through the dark blanket that sorrounded them.
"Ian, I am called Ian." his voice was clear as he picked his way through the trees stumbling on a rough patch of ground and making enough noise to let anything in the immediate vincinity know where he was.
He noticed that without him being aware of it that he still held his watch in his hand. Silently he put it on his wrist and waited for a hint of who he was trying to find.
Ian!? Now she remembered. The psycho Sir Deerboy who'd done little more than laugh. At least he sounded saner than he had.
And he was making a lot of noise, which made it easier for her to move toward him, though the undergrowth seemed to be trying to trip her.
"It's Chana," she called back. "We talked, do you remember?"
Ian pushed himself off the ground and finally spotted Chana. He now remembered her and flushed under his fur. He had laughed and scared her off.
"I remember" he said slowly not wanting to remember. Chana had started her change since he last saw her and he frowned. What was she becoming?
"Have the days treated thee with kindness?"
PostPosted: Sat Feb 11, 2006 6:01 pm
"Uh...kindness?" She had to think about that one as she pushed over to where he was. She could smell him clearly, and almost see him...if her eyes weren't playing tricks. "I don't think so...I wouldn't be lost here if it hadn't been for that damned alligator..."
She savagely pushed aside the branches in her way to reach him. "I hate reptiles...so sneaky and decieving..." her voice faded to a mutter.
"Alligator? There are alligators here?" That caught Ian unawares. He hadn't been aware of those sorts of predators and was glad that he had been staying near the stream in the forest.
Ian hadn't really interacted with any reptiles with the exception of Amaya, and Cassidy, and they hadn't seemed sneaky.
Ian had of course assumed that Chana was talking about an islander turned alligator.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 11, 2006 6:16 pm
"Yeah...there was a huge alligator right there in the river. I wonder what else there is...lions, tigers and bears, hmmm?" Resorting to Wizard of Oz jokes was a sure sign that Chana was annoyed. In this case, she was still mad at the alligator for forcing her to flee the river.
She had no clue that Ian thought she meant sentient alligators.
"How've you been?" she asked him, though she wasn't really interested in the answer. Sarcastically, she added another comment. "I bet there's plenty of grass around here for you to eat."
Chubbs MacKraken
PostPosted: Sun Feb 12, 2006 1:15 pm
Chubbs walked through trees and bushes, stumbling and sniffing and catching nothing on his senses but damn plants. He hoped he'd run into something big, like a pig or a cocodile or something. The were big and make another tasty me, and he could bring home the bacon so to speak. But he wasn't thinking straight, how the hell was he going to bring down anything like them down? Punch it?, scratch it with his small claws? He was barely getting around as it was. Chubbs needed a weapon, something... ah a club. He thought if he could break a branch off a tree, he could swing that at least. Looking about him, he found what he thought was a good branch and grabbed hold, and then tugged with all he had. The branch came away suprisinglyeasily and it felt odd in his hands. Then there was a shapr pain in his shoulder, growing tighter, and the branch began to move. Chubbs cried out and snarled in pain as he looked down and saw the large snakes head clamped onto his shoulder. He reacted too slow, it was already coiling about his neckand arms. Chubbs groled and fell down wincing as the snake bit harder, man that sucked. Chubbs rolled around and tried to wrestle with the snake.
