After a while of waiting on the cat, Dalcon's stomach decides to add its two cents' worth to the conversation, growling loudly. "Uuurgh. Food," he says simply, and starts walking. Even by instinct alone, he knows how to find the dojo, and he heads toward it, only wavering from his course long enough to wonder who in the world "RR + SC" were. Scratching his head in curiosity, he memorizes those initials etched into the bark of a tree, the memory sinking almost photographically into his blue eyes. With a shrug, he continues on, dragging the sword behind him that he still cannot manage to lift.

Seph stretched and crouched at the bottom of the steps before hopping up to the roof and taking what he considered his usual and permanent guard post. Despite the fact that it had been months since he'd last stepped foot on this patch of Earth. It would take him a while to reassociate himself with the local area, but he could already smell familiar smells and taste that familiar dampness that surrounded the Dojo in an aged, almost surreal haze.

With a grimace of displeasure, and at the same time a sigh of relief, Dalcon finds himself walking the path to the Main Gate once again. Still struggling with the immense claymore, he walks the path as quietly as he is able. However, much to his dismay, the blade of the sword catches on a rock and rings out rather loudly. He tightens his grip on the sword as green fire swirls around him, his eyes hardening like twin emeralds. He fully expects to be eaten by a youkai, and to go down swinging.

Two identical sounds echoed softly across the clearly. Vaguely, they were 'poofs.' The spectacle Seph witnessed when he reappeared a few meters from the boy surprised him, though he made no effort to show it.
He took another drag and while exhaling said, "Pretty lights."

"Don't you know that's bad for you?" Dalcon looks the man up and down, trying hard not to let on that he can't lift the weapon in his hands. "And aren't you too calm? I know for a fact there's at least one youkai in that building..."

Smoke poured from his nostrils. "Lot's of stuff in this world are bad for you." He pulled one hand from his pocket and scratched the back of the head. When the boy next spoke, his ears perked up.
He shrugged. "I've dealt with that particular Youkai before. His bark is worse than his bite. Or it was then."

"The problem is, he can bite," Dalcon sighs. As he exhales, it's as if he'd blown out a candle. The fire disappears, and once again his eyes are pure blue. "And if you've dealt with him, why is he alive? They eat people. Children. Me."

"Well, technically, they eat anyone they can get their hands on." He paused as the foxfire diminished. It also took him an additional second or two to place the sword he was holding. He recognized that hunk of metal anywhere.
"And he's still alive because we didn't want to kill him. He's actually a good guy once you get to know him." Rumors had been circling even in the farthest edges of the continent, though. Seph may have been gone, but he was never too far for a little birdie to let him know the skinny on the Dojo.

"Who is he, anyways?" Dalcon frowns, still not getting the full picture of why this man was so 'meh', as it were.

"I'll let him introduce himself when you feel confident enough to meet him. Suffice it to say, he's the reason this Dojo is even still here." He turned slowly and spit the cigarette out. It burned to ash before it even hit the ground. "You comin' in?"

He lingers, both out of fear and reluctance to show that he cannot lift the sword. "Promise I won't get eaten?"

"Can't make that promise. I promise you won't taste very good, though, so he'd probably just spit you out." Seph couldn't help but grin.

"But Mom says I'm sweet..."
He almost drops the sword, feeling his face burn crimson as he realizes he actually said that.

"That's why he wouldn't like you. Youkai only like naughty children." He yawned. "Now, if you're coming, keep up." He began his trek back towards the dojo once again.

Giving a resigned sigh, punctuated by a growling stomach, he hurries to catch up with Seph, trailing the sword behind him. "What's your name, anyways? I'm Dalcon."
