"Of course we do. What kind of self-respecting government organization doesn't?" Dari replied. He leaned over on an elbow. Clearly they weren't getting any painting done for a little bit. "His name's Seamus. He's huge."
Toby smirked, "I love you too, hon."
Peaches rolled over for no good reason and vibrated in Cody's lap. Happy kitty!

Cody grinned. "I didn't think government organizations kept cats. Bigger than Peaches, then?"
The night went well; they painted, they talked and laughed, they watched movies and Cody stayed until after breakfast.
On Monday, Toby got several texts in a row, from the resident Kelpie.

"Yeah, a bit. He's no average cat," Dari said and reached over to pet the cat.
On Monday, Toby waited for the text flood to finish before unlocking his phone and looking them over. Only one person sent these.

Hey! Come over! Read the first text. I can make omelets now! I know how to bake them! And you put cheese in them and meat! There were a string of smaller texts that insisted Toby come tonight and on the full moon and maybe he, Toby and Michael could scare some of the night workers.

Toby turned his head up to talk to Dari but didn't look at him.
"Apparently I'm going to dinner with Kevin. I'll have to tell Maia. I'm sure she's invited," Toby said.
Is Maia invited?
"Tell him I have his reward today. He did very well on his English exam," Dari said, waving a paper in the air. "If I come to dinner I'll bring it."
"Alright."
Dari says he has your reward. You did well. Want him to come?
There he went, sending his own text flood...

Maia can come. Was the immediate response. Toby didn't like being away from his love, and that was fine. Oh? Dari wanted to come too. I passed? Then came; Yeah, he's invited!

it looks like you did more than pass. See you @ 5:30?
"He did good, right?" Toby asked.
"Mm-hm. He got an 85," Dari said, "The tests aren't easy. They don't take into account how much or what the student came in knowing. He did really well."
"Yay for standard testing."
"Mm."
"We have to make sure we eat before you give him that thing."
As promised, the gang showed up around 5:30 at Kevin's apartment. Dari carried an enormous paper bag. There was no need for wrapping when it came to teenagers, and he hadn't had the supplies for it anyway.
Seamus trotted after Maia and Toby rapped lightly on the door.

Maia smiled as Seamus followed. "I'm sure you were invited, too!" she said. Maia took Toby's hand and swayed their hands together.
Kevin opened the door and smiled at them. "C'mon! I made stuff. You didn't tell me what you guys wanted to eat so I did whatever." Which meant eggs, and toasted cheese.

Toby smiled and came on in, followed by his love and then by Dari.
"Hey, I'm sure it's fine, whatever it is," Toby said, "It smells good."
Dari gave a little wave and put the bag down on the floor by the coffee table. "We'll have to eat before you open that." Or during.

Kevin smiled. "Yeah, and it tastes good. I made sure." He noticed Seamus and bent to pet the cat sidhe. "Are you here for dinner too, Seamus? We should curse one of the humans tomorrow. I'll let you into the lunch room with me and we can decide on a victim."
He looked to Dari. "What is it?" he asked, trying to peer into the bag.

Well, a teenager's palate was pretty hit or miss.
Seamus meowed. See? He was always invited! Besides, he could have eggs!
"Seamus can't go in the lunch room," Toby said, but he knew he might as well be talking to a brick wall. He just felt obligated to tell the truth for the sanity of his coworkers. Seamus got up and trotted into the kitchen area. Food!
"Something for your good grades," Dari said. "Food first."

"Its no fun if rules aren't broken," Kevin said, and followed Seamus into the kitchen. He offered the cat a toasted cheese sandwich, and then took out a spatula to cut eggs. He served the cat some on a plate. "Why is the dragon aloud in the kitchen, and Seamus not? That's hardly fair."

Seamus did not receive his eggs, as the moment Kevin offered him the grilled cheese he picked it up whole and ran growling for the bathroom, daring anyone to take it from him. He knew some would not approve, but oh, he approved wholeheartedly.
Dari laughed. Toby shook his head.
"Pixie doesn't curse people. Or steal their lunch. Or get cat hair in people's subs," Toby said, and then went about grabbing some more plates for Kevin's guests.
