Death: Yeah, we're like a good week or so into it and most of the preliminary match things are done.
Wiggles: Enough so I break a sweat.

Haruhi000777 Eh. Right now I'm gonna focus on strengthening my back muscles so I can do proper and modified sit ups. 1. Running on anything other than sand does not jack up your knees. Running on uneven ground can possibly result in a sprained ankle, but running does not result in many severe or lasting injuries except for in rare cases.Running on various surfaces is actually better for you. 2. Sit ups do not primarily use your back muscles, but focus more on your abs. Building back muscles may help with dead lifts, push ups, and a few other exercises (It is also helpful in certain Martial Arts).

Haku: Yeah.
Duck: Huh, so I guess the cartilage just wears away no matter what then?
But... then how do I lift up without good back muscles?
Az: Hiya.
Wiggles: No, like two sets of 90 whatever he does, electro shock exercises, junk like that.

@Haru: Cartilage damage due to running is extremely rare and tends to happen to high end Athletes, not a casual runner. Unless you are an Olympic-class runner, you don't have to worry about it.
For sit ups, the act of lifting you're body is done using your abdominal muscles, not your back. While it does put stress on your back and spine, it is your abs that does the work. If you are hurling your body up, then you are failing to do a proper sit up.
Electro shock exercises? never heard of it and I own several books that talk about Bruce Lee's workouts.
