A broad explanation of what I think is cheap is a detail of a character which gives him or her an unfair advantage against other characters.

Well, I'm not the Big Pichu fan, he's slower and less powerful than Pikachu, so gotta go with that. Pikachu all the way.

Waynebrizzle A broad explanation of what I think is cheap is a detail of a character which gives him or her an unfair advantage against other characters. AKA top tier. I hate seeing tiers in a fighting game. What's the point of including so many characters if you're going to give like 3 or 4 of them a clear advantage. You end up seeing those characters more often than not. I'm hoping they're dedicating/have dedicated a lot of time to balance issues.

Pikachu all the way. @Itakio: stare That's... that's why I said that I wanted to make him top tier..... Uh...... <.< I was kidding by the way. More trouble than it's worth. But I still say that would be cool.

I still retain that there is a counter to everything.
So maybe there is cheapness in a game, I still don't see what the problem is. Just fight fire with fire.

Kays, This MAY be old news caouse you guys are on here Lots. Ive seen a vid and it include Peach's Final... Looks Pretty... Not so "Smash" ish. http://www.gamepro.com/video/player.cfm?vid=116140Its appears at the 4:01 Time mark. It zooms in on peach, puts all foes to sleep and lots pink stuff appears for peach to eat. It acts like food. Peachs foes seem to stay asleep for quite a while, which may be able to make her "push" em off the edge?

But the cheapness comes in where some characters have more/better counters. What can you do against a character that has mostly high/top priority attacks? There are no counters for that. Yea, you can use that same character, but that defeats the whole purpose of the game's large roster. I don't want to feel forced into using one character, or be penalized for choosing someone else.

Well, unfortunately, that's the way it has to be in order to win.

Itakio Well, unfortunately, that's the way it has to be in order to win. It doesn't have to be if there are no balancing issues. That's what I'm hoping for.

Hopefully, I don't think it'll happen though. *shrug* Also, I'm done arguing, obviously I'm not convincing anyone of anything. I lose. If anyone cares, here is the article that persuaded me to change my look on video games to the way I am now. I advise everyone to read it.

You don't have to use the same character. That's the advantage with the large roster. You can go through characters and find one that can counter it. Captain Faclon is one counter for Fox, and the other is Link. There are plenty of counters for fox. Like Sonic could be one, if you're able to be quick enough and do a Spindash before his reflector, you can throw him in the air and pummel him there.
