Veroen looked at her wrist as she held it out.

He did nothing for a moment, deep in thought. This would contradict everything he had been striving for. But then again, falling for Edith had been a contradiction as well. In fact, his whole life was a contradiction.

He was quiet as he looked at Rogue, and pushed up the sleeve of his long black leather trench coat. He then brought his wrist to his mouth, and without blinking or taking his empty eyes off of Rogue, he tore his flesh as well. After a moment, he took a few steps toward rogue, and when he was close enough, he stopped, and held out his own wrist towards her. He would let her make the first move in this agreement, seeing as she was an Elder, and a female at that.

Gently and slowly she put one hand under his and looked into his eyes. She never looked away from them as she bent down and put her lips to his flesh torn on his wrist. She felt her fangs elongate at the blood and they dug in slightly to the wound, but no more than any blood reaction would.

His dark blood licked through her system, the little she took, memories flashed about, but she did not sort them in her mind.

In a subtle movement she raised her wrist to him, not leaving her eyes from his, the green emerald glow bright in her own eyes.

Kashkin

PostPosted: Wed Feb 24, 2010 11:11 pm

Upon approaching the street where blood runs freely, Kashkin could imagine the speakers were turned up base-wise, the dance floor filled. People would be laughing, drinking, flirting, kissing, grinding, drugs, dancing, and doing all sorts of social activities. It was still the same exciting place as it always was, right?

Not for long.

Kashkin knew his leader had gone out tonight. He didn't know what she was up to, but whatever it was, it was something either important or horrendously dangerous. That was the kind of danger that always intrigued curious people. Kashkin was, in fact, a curious person.

He whistled, approaching Las' Noches, getting closer and closer to the alley a few houses down. Upon making it there, he put his bag down and opened it up, revealing a portion of his better arsenal.

"Better overkill than underestimation..... She's probably turned her share of people, or killed enough hunters that it's time for a little payback."

He reached down and started shifting through his bag, equipping the following arsenal: Two UZI smgs with bullets that had UV light stored and projected upon impact, a Serbu 12 Gauge (the length of his fore-arm), oneBlack-bladed short sword, two Frag. grenades (mini-version, smaller but same explosion), one flashbang (UV), a knife, his prized guns Vizury and Gen (the deadliest of his arsenal), a few sulfer-filled packets that burn and catch on fire briefly when in contact with skin (it worked very well on vampires, them hating light, fire, and sun) and a metal baseball bat. The metal bat was the only thing not concealed beneath his baggy pants or worn black sweatshirt, and it was hanging on a strap on his back.

Hand to hand, Rogue would shred him to pieces, so he needed every advantage he could get. Her speed was incredible as well, which is why Kashkin had to think ahead for her next logical move to at least somewhat keep up with her. He could definitelly withstand a decent amount of damage, for he did nothing but train and fight, but he had his own little surprise for her.

He had, since he joined the fight against vampires, a suit of kevlar fit to his body. It covered his arms, legs, and chest completely, like a set of underarmor. It could take a shotgun shell at point blank and only hurt like a b***h.

However, it was necessary, for Rogue could probably punch a whole through him in an instant if she tried. Luckily he was hard-headed or he would wear a helmet.

Finally ready, he reached into his bag and pulled out a blood packet. It was from a hospital, fresh from a patient. He held it a bit, let it warm up, and brought his bag and himself to a roof across the street, facing Las' Noches.

The roof was fairly empty, a ventilation shaft or two and a door sitting on the top. It had a few more things, but the center was definitelly a good arena. It was long, and very wide. There was plenty of running space, and places to hide as well. He decided that if things started going bad, he would need an escape route. So he set the roof to blow if he flipped a switch in his pocket. No, it wasn't any switch like in the movies that could go off accidentally. It was voice activated with a backup, manual combination. It was for the worst case scenario.

Kashkin ripped open the blood packet and poured it on the middle of the roof. It was his way of calling her out.

He wanted to know when and where to do this. He was challenging her, so he was giving her the option of throwing down outside her lovely little bar. If not, he was going to set her place on fire, burning everything down from the outside in.

"Come out come out, Rogue. You know I'm here...."

Gabriel had seen this type of human before, many many times and had come into conflict with them. The man was armed to the teeth but poorly so compared to other hunters that had found themselves members of old organizations. He had heard that there was a significant hunter gathering here in the city but it was not suppose to be much of a threat. A few traitors were even a part of it he had heard, those he would like to meet for himself to deal with appropriately. The human did not appear to be bleeding anywhere, it did not take long to analyze the fact that this was a set up. The blood on the ground at his feet and armed as he was ready to fight. He was hunting. The audacity of some humans to think they are peers to the prowess and strength of a superior race was insulting.

"Looking for something?"

Gabriel's blood was flowing steadily faster and faster as he dwelled on this mongrels obviously inflated ego. He started to slowly walk around the hunter sizing him up and taking inventory of the gear he was using. Many of it seemed a bit novice. Grenades...to risky for professionals, to hard to contain, to many citizens at risk and it is humanly impossible to get away from the blast radius in time to not get hurt. Unless he was ready to take his chances jumping off the building. He recognized many other weapons from hunters he had dealt with in the passed, highly effective if not handled properly but he had always survived. The bat on his back was humorous, as was the sword. It had been nearly a hundred and fifty years since a hunter had the guts to get close enough to a vampire to try and kill it with melee outside of a cowardly daytime killing.

The wind blew the scent of the blood around and across the city, no doubt it was being detected now. Who hunts wolves and stands in a pile of pheromones in the middle of the pack. Foolish. This was not how his night was suppose to go but he would settle readily for this. It had been nearly a year since he had last tangled with a hunter and he was much more than this one, he was also still alive somewhere but then again he was not exactly human anymore.

Kashkin

Kashkin's resolve didn't waver, but a slight look of surprise came to his face. He had not seen or read anything about this being before. A vampire? Well, it must be, for he had appeared out of nowhere. A rather dramatic entrance, instead of merely jumping up. And from the mere moments he was present, Kashkin was already learning.

The fact that the man had appeared was a sign that he was powerful and experience. He hadn't heard anything more than a footstep before he was in his sight, and already he was sizing up what he thought was his prey. This meant that he was believing Kashkin to be foolish. And from the equipment, well, true enough it was rather vauge and hard to use. But as this vampire sized him up, Kashkin smiled softly. This vampire was forgetting that there were a few hunters in this city who didn't think about safety first, who in fact thought outside the box and about killing their targets completely and utterly, reguardless if it brought around death or destruction.

Martyrs.

"Hello hello, good sir. Nice night, isn't it?" Kashkin tapped a finger on his bat. Yes, unorthadox, but what was inside the bad was one of his fun surprises. He didn't want to let anyone in on his little secret now....

"I am, in fact, looking for something. Well, more specifically a someone (I suppose you could call it a something), but none the less. Do you happen to know where Rouge is?"

Kashkin couldn't see what this man had on him weapon-wise, but if he had nothing and was looking for a fight, then the whole situation became even more dangerous. He was one of those who thrived in close-combat, something Kashkin knew since the day he joined was nearly suicide. Undead strength far surpassed a humans. Even though Kashkin trained himself every day until he nearly passed out, he could only, maybe, come to about half a vampires strength. Maybe three-fourths, but we're talking the average, run of the mill, in lamens terms rank D vampire. A lot still, but nowhere near enough.

Kashkin tilted his head slightly. "So... who are you? Not to be blunt, but I don't have a file on you (or the jerks back at HQ didn't give me access to it)."

An hour or two after the exchange with Veroen, Rogue went up to the roof, leaving Alexz's body resting on the fourth floor in a guarded room with no windows, and a human waiting for her along with several bags of blood.

Holes in her outfit were apparent from the bullets that had grazed, and entered her system, but were healing. She had not taken the time to feed yet.

Upon entering the roof she rested in a shadow feeling the night when someone called to her. Before she answered, she noted another vampire exchanging with the human. She opened her mind and her eyes began to glow, expanding out to see into any surface thoughts of the human. His name was Kashkin.
Then she smelled the blood. Her fangs elongated, and remained so, heavy in her mouth.

She waited while the two engaged.

Kashkin shifted his feet, his hands moving from his pockets to his side, his arms limp. He wasn't in any way showing tension, but rather looked relaxed. His hair still covered his eyes, as it always did. His clothing shuffled ever so slightly in a breeze that began to drift across the rooftops. The smell of blood reached him, so the thoughts of it drifting down and catching Rouge's attention was rather high. Statisticly speaking, it wasn't by any means wise to go all out against a... probably elder vampire. Now that he took the situation further into account, he realized that it was probably so. Upon going all out, he would end up not doing what he originally came here to do. That would be a great hindrance, not to mention he wasn't sure of what this one could do.

Sighing to himself, his eyes glanced around, a patient look on the visible half of his face. No one saw his eyes, or at least he made sure no one did. The only time they were ever visible was when he pushed his hair back. Only then was he fighting seriously. Dangerously.

"So I don't know what you want with me, but you seem like a very strong guy. I don't see any logical reason someone as powerful as you would waste their time on a small, pathetic soldier of light such as myself. I'm not strong at all." He spoke not in sarcasm, but in seriousness. Kashkin didn't think himself strong at all, but merely a soldier. Was it the truth though? Or was he merely clouding his thoughts with the thoughts of his own weaknesses, possibly in denial about his strength? Only if the vampire across from him could see his scars, or his eyes, would he see bloodshed. Anger. A killers eyes. In Kashkin's eyes, the man standing in front of him almost gave off an aura. It was faint, but it was strong enough for a human to feel. That's just scary.

But then he grinned slightly, drawing out a long, almost low musical tone.

"Roooooooguuuuueeeeee....... Come on out......" It was low enough so normal ears couldn't hear it unless near-by, but for a vampire... well, consider it a creepy invitation.

Now this took a whole new turn for Gabriel, before this was someone he had no issue with other than the fact that he was a hunter. When he asked if he knew where Rogue was though it sparked a memory. He was in Germany with his master the night he gave Gabriel the charge, he was telling him about this woman that had enthralled him. Right before he had left though he had looked back at Gabriel and said 'Who would have thought a rogue would be the leader of anyone'. Until now though he had thought his master had not given him anything specific to who this vixen was but now it all seemed to make sense. They were looking for the same person...interesting.

"I am Gabriel, just a curious passerby. Do tell, who is Rogue? Why are you hunting them?"

Gabriel was aware of the third presence as she came to the roof but he did not take much notice. To him another vampire had become just as curious as to why blood was so strong on the roof and decided to take a look. Ignorance was bliss they say. He was also starting to get cautious and watch the hunter carefully. He may not have the prestigious equipment of the catholic dogs but he did have the attitude, whether one wanted to call it confidence or huborous was a matter of opinion. He was going with the later but who is to say that was not his ego as well.

"Why this one vampire...there is a festering club of them below us. There is me infront of you."

He opened his arms to present himself as if the hunter did not see him before or know he was a vampire. His eyes were taking on more of a glow now and he could feel the sanguine beast trying to claw itself out of his subconscience into the open. Begging him to let it take over and to rack his claws across this humans face and suck bloody marrow from his bones. For all his regal appearances Gabriel personified the unmerciful and bloodthirsty image superstitious humans had of his kind in the old world.

Kashkin's body tensed slightly. His own blood started pumping faster, for he saw Gabriel's eyes. Any hardened fighter knew that the eyes gave away a lot more than mere words could. The person... no, the being who stood in front of him, those eyes.... They were filled with a power and lust for bloodshed Kashkin had felt maybe once in his life, and that's when he first saw an elder. This was, of course, from about fourty yards away and in a safe place. However, staring at something this strong, those eyes.... They were filled with an experience Kashkin thought twice about. They were ferocious. And did they just glow?

"Nice to meet you, Gabriel.... Rouge. Ah, she's a beautiful woman who's looks can kill you. Literally. I'm out to hunt her because she's a bit of a thorn in the faction's eyes. But... On a deeper level, she is a vampire. One who others follow. I'm merely seeing how far one would have to go to sever the head from the snake, so to speak. Those vampires down in the club I'll get to eventually, and you.... Well, I doubt I could even come close to bringing you down." He paused. "I could introduce her to you if you'd like. She'll come up here eventually, weather or not she does it willingly is the question now."

The being in front of Kashkin was a monster. A king above cannon fodder. He had seen the grotesque and the strong, the fast and the cunning, deformed and perfectionists. Seeing new forms didn't catch him off guard. It was the fact that every one of them that he fought had a different power or use of said power that forced him to adapt to the situation again and again. He always assumed people were vampires. That's how he stayed safe. It was process of elimination if they were or were not, but this wasn't hard to figure out at all.

This would be dangerous. Life threatening, if this man decided to direct his fury at him. Those eyes.....

Rogue looked to the ground and tried to control her bloodlust. The wounds on her body ached, and could be healed if she could feel the red liquid quenching the burn in the back of her throat.
You are not an animal... she told herself.

Her eyes burned emerald as she continued to watch the engagement. She knew the moment Kashkin became aware of her.

She was not trying to hide her presence.

"So sever the head, Kashkin. Kill the snake. Destroy the vampires and live in peace throughout the human world....no...I don't believe humans know peace either.... Your fight seems to be in vain..."

"The girl brings up a valid point. Sure vampires feed on humans, sure in my early years I slaughtered a lot of humans. However there has never been a slaughter of amongst ourselves such as say...world war 2."

From his position now he could see Rogue clearly and see her situation. Crossing his arms he tapped his chin with a finger that already sported a talon like nail. Setting down next to her he wrapped her arm around her shoulders while giving Kashkin the most sober and sad look he could muster neverminding having moved from one side to the other as quickly as he did.

"For just a few pints you too can safe a life like this young girls here. Hahaha"

He laughed at his own joke, mimicking those commercials that filled late night television of people trying to raise money for the poor and downtrodened of other countries. Removing his arm from her however he dragged a nail across his wrist and fresh human blood mixed with his own black ichor from feeding earlier started to coagulate at the wound. He was cutting off circulation for the time and lifted it to face level with Rogue. All the while he kept his eyes on the hunter although much more casually than before.

"You see you humans only see things from a short perspective, your lives are like vapors and somewhat insignificant in the grand scheme. When you look at the larger picture....vampires have protected humanity from extinction before. Not out of love Ill give you but beggars can't be choosers."

Gabriel was patient his temper was not so short and this human while possibly could pose a threat he did not believe he would tonight. Severly outnumbered as he was. Though he had met some very very radical zealots in South Africa around 1935. To the death was their motto, he had been happy to oblige but the clan of zealot vampires that appeared a few months later in that same town were being a nuisance he had heard to the local elders. His mind digressed again. Refocusing he waited to see where this was going to go.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 25, 2010 9:11 pm

Rogue was surprised at the touch of Gabriel, but did not react. To most vampires an immediate touch would mean a retaliation of some sort, triggering instinctual emotions and reactions. Rogue held her ground, as Gabriel baited Kashkin and smiled at his mocking tone.

Though in this moment she could appear weak, Gabriel's offer of blood was not a mockery to her. Fight for your bretheren....something the Death Dealers taught in deep training of the 6th year.

She took his wrist and drank, seeing some memories, but not aligning them as she could have as an elder. She let the blood stir her strength and felt her remaining wounds tingle in an effort to close. In an ungreedy motion, she pushed his wrist back to him.

Thank you...she whispered. She was never one to hold back thanks where thanks was due.

Kashkin's eyes fell on Rogue and he grinned. He looked from Gabriel to Rogue and back to Gabriel. His words hit him like a wave would hit a boulder. His resolve didn't flinch, but he did have a valid point.

"Hehahaha..... Nice." He paused, his smile vanishing. The black ichor and blood was something Kashkin hadn't seen before. He was staring at two elders for sure now, but upon taking a closer look at Rogue, noticed she was wounded. He had an amazing opportunity here. To kill a wounded vampire. The ideas raced through his head almost too fast for him to keep up.

"Peacekeepers... my a**. Pardon the language, but I you're just as destructive and terrifying as any psycho or angry human, only ten times more dangerous. And besides...." A smile crept up his face like a spider up a web. Slowly, surely, smoothly. This was a sadistic smile that the moonlight just barely touched to further enhance the darkness behind it. "Personal reasons compell me to kill your kind. Weather or not I live as a mere breath of existance in your eyes, I'm still going to make your kind's lungs burn from the inside out. That doesn't necessarily mean yours though..... Unless you know a cure for vamparism."

Kashkin's muscles tensed slightly, but he controlled the bloodlust and urge to fight by a fraction. He, too, was barely holding back. He felt out with his body for the first weapons he would reach for, found them on his back, and got ready to move the second either of them took a hostile action or did something he didn't like.

"And hello there.... Rogue....." Kashkin's smile grew ever so slightly, his eyes then focusing right on hers.

Gabriel raised a brow at the hunter the wound on his wrist healing as he stood up. He looked from the hunter to Rogue and looked her over. So she was the one...You do have taste Master. Before he even looked back at the hunter his eyes started to glow like the coals of hell and yet he smiled. Ever so politely he bowed infront of Rogue as if to an audience in the theatre.

"My Lady."

Turning back he looked at the hunter and his temper was kindled at the man now. Kindled out of genuine anger that he was hunting an Elder or kindled out of a sense of responcibility and loyalty to dear old Da.

"You are right, I am no peacekeeper. I care about the greater good you could say but each individual human life is worthless and meaningless. You don't give me enough credit human...you would to better to liken me to the devil."

For a brief moment he remembered his deal and turning. He despised Lucifer but he resembled him so much. Gabriel was starting to look hostile now, his arms were at his side and ready. His hands were his weapons and even though he was yet to go into some bloodlust rage his brow was set and his intentions obvious. The matter of toying with the human and then leaving for his opera was now a matter of killing the human if needed. While looking at the human his sense were heightening, the steady rythym of Kashkins heartbeat was enticing to him. His iris shrunk slightly as he looked at the hands...neck...forhead, all places where he could see veins pumping that precious liquid.

"One chance is on the table for you to leave this roof human. If not then we will test your mettle. It would be a great trophy to if you win...but if you lose...you do not know true suffering."

First and foremost, Rogue was a warrior. It was the only reason she had survived this long.

"Kashkin." Her voice resounded of power and depth in its timbre. "Your own mother would be disappointed in her son's wreckless behavior. My only pleasure in dealing with your life, more than to kill you, would be to turn you and let you know of the fight you act out upon in vain.

We protect humanity and have prevented it thus far from destroying itself...Living beyond your means is the first step in an early and untimely death..."
