[Noelle ~ Narnia ~ Grand Hall] Noelle was there with her father, a stout man about seven inches taller than her. They found a bench off to the side and sat down, talking about the past week, hugging often, and sharing tears.

[[??? : ??? : ???]]
[[Cue: Kiniro no Choshou (Golden Sneer) by Akiko Shikata from Umineko]]"Are you sure that's the move you want to make?" spoke a voice from the dark figure across from Noelle. The girl sat in a dark, cloth covered room, adorned with several silks draped like tapestries and streamers through the small space. It was dark, apart from the shadowy colors of purple, black, and red that made of the cloth walls, the only light came from the crystal ball like item that took up most of the table before her, and the soft glow from incense sticks that smoldered about the tent-like structure. In the crystal she could see herself with her father, sitting on a bench. This wasn't real. Somehow, Noelle had found herself in this space, a tiny pocket of a world with this man dressed in robes of eccentric and esoteric design. He smiled at her, chuckling lightly, "You must know, there are far better things you could have done."Somewhere along the line, she had found herself in this room. How she got there, when, or why were all mysteries to her. She couldn't remember arriving, nor what she'd been doing before, simply that she awoke here and has been stuck ever since. This man, had been present since the beginning. There had been a time of confusion for the girl, the young man had done his best to explain what he could to the girl, but none of it made much sense despite his best efforts. After all, even he couldn't answer her most pressing questions, where were they? How did they get there? Why were they here? The cloth walls around them offered little resistance to one's attempt to leave, doubtless the girl had tried, but slipping through was a confusing loop, that simply led her back to the chair she'd woken up in, it seemed there was no escape. Before them was a game, an illusion, where she was told to control herself and play a part; a role that would, according to her fellow occupant of this small space, free her from this room should she complete the game. The point of this game wasn't very well explained, merely she was told from the beginning the goal would become clear in time... and the only rule that was set in stone was not to break the essence of the illusion, in other words, remain in-character, else consequences would surely follow. And here she was, making her first move wandering blindly until something developed to give her reason to do otherwise, all while watching these illusions of everyone move about on their own like watching a movie, or a play of marionettes dancing about on invisible strings. There was a certain instinctive cruelty in his smile as the male questioned her move, like a spider toying with a fly, "Guess that makes it my turn then?"(( OOC: This scene is a special scenario only related to Noelle. No one else is aware of this interaction and can't participate in the conversation. I apologize in advance if this feels unfair in any way.))

[[Alan, Kichi, Daniel, Amanda, Benjamin, Fredric, Sven : Narnia : Grand Hall]] [[BGM: Black Lilliana from Umineko no Naku Koro Ni]] Benjamin went from a slightly shocked face of having run into Joe, to a far more pleased expression as his impish nature took over and he began following Joe who seemed to ignore his presence, "Hey! Hey, sir?" the youth in the fur coat chimed behind him, bouncing, "You're one of the Earthworms right?""That's Earth'lings' Benjamin," the man referred to as Fredric replied catching up with the boy before Joe could say anything, if he even would acknowledge the tween in the first place. "Right, SOOOO, you're one of those guys. You're a hero right? I want to be a hero too when I grow up. I wanna travel the world, slay dragons, beat up bad guys, rescue princesses and be surrounded by adoring fans. How'd you become a hero? You don't look very hero-y. Can you tell me stories? Ever killed a dragon? Ever saved a princess? How 'bout beat up bad guys, or slain an evil villain? Oooh, why do you wear an eye patch?""Benjamin..." Fredric could only sigh and give an apologetic glance to the earthling who had now become the new focus of the young boy's entertainment. --------------------------- "Mad? What did we do wrong," Daniel said with a laugh towards Dawn and her comment, "I just got here before you."The male behind Daniel gave a deep sigh, and shook his head. The earthling-gone-turk had definitely missed the point. The young man looked as though he would speak, but shut his mouth and diverted his gaze when someone else spoke up in his place. "You would be correct, Bobbi," Alan said with a nod, "The very same.""Apparently the Al'bed donated the negator for the party. Seems most of the wise ones agreed for the sake of providing the safest night for us to relax, the negator would limit any risks of people sneaking in with abnormal powers," Kichi followed suit once more, though he seemed displeased. "They tried to program it to include our powers as exceptions, but without the time to fine tune it they decided to make it so everyone, regardless of who, would be under the effect. Apparently there were attempts to program it to allow all earthlings... but someone objected saying something about a... rabid samurai... or something like that," the boy behind the turk finally spoke, adding on perhaps a bit too much information than they cared to hear. "Right," Daniel perked up, turned to the young man as though he'd forgotten his presence and returned to face Bobbi, "This guy's my brother, Sven. He's the reason I was invited apparently... that and ShinRa planned on sending me regardless as a diplomatic envoy.""That's convenient," Amanda mused, running her fingers through her hair, "Wish my quests were as mutually beneficial," there was a short pause and suddenly she perked up, "Oh! I know most of you just got here, but simply MUST share this with you before I get distracted again. Have you heard about the King's Poem... or the King's Riddle?"

[Amy : Narnia : Grand Hall]
"That's kind of sucky," Amy commented, "I would like to show off my magic to my babe."
Zee kissed her on the top of the head, it being convenient to reach with how tall he was compared to her. "I've got some cool stuff to show you, too, babe. You wouldn't even believe." She could tell he wanted to elaborate, but he held back and rested his chin on her head instead. "We can show each other later."
That one girl whose name she forgot mentioned a riddle. It was a direct question, aimed to anyone, and no one had answered so far, so Amy felt comfortable answering, "King's Riddle? Never heard of it." Maybe it would give her and Zee an excuse to go off to solve it, and conveniently disappear from the event.

[Dawn : Narnia : Grand Hall]
"Don't give me that!" Dawn scolded, "You guys let this little one follow you guys here. Leaving her parents behind. Hope she didn't cause you guys trouble."
Krystal wiggled a little in Dawn's arms to be put down. The dancer gave her niece a pouty look. She really didn't want to put her niece down, but gave in when Krystal pouted back. When her little feet hit the ground she ran away towards the table that had refreshments.
Her eyes split between keeping a watchful eye on her niece and looking at the others.
"You know after our experience with those negators, I am surprised anyone is willing to trust them. I dunno about anyone else. It feels strange not having Garuda snip in with a smart a** comment at random stuff. Dawn paused as Krystal came walking back with a small plateful of food and a cup of juice. She was ready to spring into action in case Krystal needed help, then her eyes looked up at Daniel then at the girl Amanda, "King's Riddle?"
Dawn's eyes drifted down to Krystal who was getting closer to Nanaki holding out some of her food.
"Puppy, hungry?" the little girl said as she held some meat under Red's nose like she would if she were feeding a real dog.
Dawn snorted a laugh and covered her mouth to try and not laugh at the sight. She knew she should stop her niece, but it was too cute.

[Joe: Narnia: Grand Hall]
"...It is, Bobbi."
The mention of the Negator had thrown Joe's anxieties into a direction. Probably not a useful one, as he was getting a mix of fear and anger. and he was starting to latch on to it. Which didn't help little 'Benjamin' who was suddenly being annoying.
"Go away, kid." He said this through gritted teeth, his good eye glaring daggers at the kid. "I have more important s**t to deal with then answer your stupid questions."
"Take care of this kid already, as your host has already insulted me as well as the rest of the Earthlings." His body was tensed, shoulders squared, jaw locked into place as his voice took an edge. How dare they use the Negator? Had he even known that was going to be in play he would've fought against them coming here harder than his passive resistance of not wanting to be at a party.
And anyway, how did Nanaki find out about the Negator? Was he told once he got here early? Why weren't they told about it when they got here? That should've been something they should have been told as soon as possible, and Joe would've known if someone had mentioned that information to him. He wouldn't have forgotten it, considering a Negator was part of the reason he wore his eye patch.
So, the fact that he didn't even want to be here already was suddenly compounded with new information, making the male anxious, angry, and more than a little annoyed.

[[Alan, Kichi, Daniel, Amanda, Benjamin, Fredric, Sven : Narnia : Grand Hall]]
[[BGM: Black Lilliana from Umineko no Naku Koro Ni]] "Like what?" came the follow-up question to Joe's rebuttal from the youthful voice of a curious little boy. Fredric, who now stood behind the child put a hand on his shoulder and urged him to return back to the banquet but the boy stood his ground. "Why are you so mad? Is it cuz I bumped into you? Did I hurt your leg? I didn't mean to. It was just having fun. I'm sorry, please don't be mad," Benjamin held out his food, a chicken leg the size of the boy's head, "You can have this. I stole it from Fredric, but its totally yours if you want it."Fredric, smiled nervously at Joe, hoping desperately that Joe might just let the boy off with this, after all, he was just a child. At this point, the hostess who greeted them by the door rejoined them, it seemed Joe's irritation didn't go unnoticed even across the distance. She approached towards the end of his commentary and well before Benjamin's apology, "I'm not sure I understand, but it seems our grasp of earth's culture isn't as good as it should be. For whatever insult we've given you, we sincerely apologize, if you would Sir Fredric, escort Benjamin to the library and find him one of those adventure novels he loves so much.""No need," Daniel cut in, his tone sharp, "whatever insult OUR host caused this guy, it wasn't to earthlings. Whatever it is, it's personal," the earthling turk gave Joe a look of disappointment after putting emphasis on the word our, seeing as as much as Joe might have been upset with the situation, he was still a guest like everyone else at a party where Joe was a guest of honor. "He's right," Alan concurred, "I haven't been insulted. I'm not really sure what his problem is." Joe received another look, only this one was less disappointed and more pressing to get his act together. "Joe's just like that sometimes," Kichi stated looking down and away, "Don't let it bother you too much. He's not a bad guy once you get to know him."Amanda who had been standing quietly throughout the procession of words let out a small cough, before interjecting, "Sooo, about that riddle..." she gave a look around, Joe seemed to be the only one truly upset or annoyed, so she decided to continue regardless with a whimsical shrug, "Just a bit before this banquet was announced, the king commissioned a bunch of gold plates engraved with various statements that were placed all over the castle. There's been rumors spreading through the party that the king is a fan of games and puzzles, and that these seemingly strange, unrelated plaques are actually part of a riddle and solving it will win you a prize from the king himself. Now, none of this has been confirmed yet, it's just speculation, but I'm actually really excited. I've tried looking around since I got here and I've found a few of the plaques, but I haven't managed to figure it out yet. You guys should try your hand at it too, who knows, maybe you'll be luckier than me at this whole riddle solving thing.""I don't think luck has much to do with solving riddles," Sven stated with a chuckle, biting at the chance to duck out of the now-visceral space around Joe and Daniel. "What was that?" Amanda gave him a playful glare, to which both and several others laughed, lightening the atmosphere among them greatly.

[Amy : Narnia : Grand Hall]
Amy was sometimes unobservant, and didn't realize Joe had gotten angry at the young boy. She understood only through the context of what people were saying what had happened. She hadn't seen it, so it wasn't like she could really judge, and Joe looked pretty uncomfortable and on edge. Amy wondered where his loved one was. She was sure she saw him earlier with who must have been his mother.
Amanda continued, bringing the subject back to the King's Riddle. It was the perfect excuse to get out of the main hall, and away from the crowd. Amy liked riddles; riddles were fun.
"That sounds like a lot of fun," Amy said, "I've always been a fan of riddles. That's what Zee and I are going to go do right now, I think. We get to see more of the castle and look for gold plaques. Kind of like a treasure hunt. What do you think, babe?" She looked up at her babe.
"Right, I'm in. Sounds like fun."
Amy nodded to the group, and she and Zee left, leaving the hall through the nearest exit.

[ Sora ; Riku ; Etc. : Narnia : Main Hall ]
"Actually, it has nothing to do with Joe just being Joe," Sora came to Joe's defense, having walked up like the others, though they'd mostly been chattering about. "It's the Negator and the fact that we weren't warned about it. We had a... pretty bad experience with one literally just yesterday, so the fact that anyone thought leaving that as a surprise was kind of stupid on my level."
Anthony chimed in, guffawing. "Saying it was a pretty bad experience is like saying Heartless are a slight annoyance. Joe lost his eye, we almost lost our friend when James got brain-heart-washed, we got the crap beat out of us. We were powerless and our lives were in the hands of psychopaths!"
"Yeah, I'mma have to side with Jojo on this one," Matthew said, walking up from behind and placing a hand on the monk's shoulder for reassurance--the Blue Mage practically towered over him and most everyone else in the group. He'd been pretty close by talking to his own mother, but it was easy to hear what was going on with the commotion. "I'd probably be having a panic attack right now if I'd experienced that."
"We're just a little put off by our friends back home for being... inconsiderate," Jenny added, using a general we as she addressed their hostess before kneeling down and giving Benjamin a sweet that'd she'd snagged from the table.

[Joe: Narnia: Main Hall]
Joe was about to yell at the child for asking another question, though bit back his tongue when the next barrage of questions came out. Though, he was still too on edge to properly tend to the boys feelings. With words, at least. And he just kind of stood there as the hostess came up.
She seemed to realize something was amiss, and attempted to resolve the issue. In fact, he was about to openly say why he was insulted, when someone else cut in.
The monk gave Danial a look as he spoke. It was a look of mild confusion, which slowly bubbled into anger. After all, how dare he speak for the Earthlings on this one? He wasn't there. He didn't go through the Negator. He couldn't possibly know what had happened to their large group.
That rage started to turn towards Alan once he spoke, his anger leaving him temporarily wordless. How dare the two of them look at him that way? Alan at least should have known what had happened!
And then Kichi...that was the painful one. Not because of who it came from, but because it was a verbal brush off. Like Joe didn't have his reasons. And he had plenty of reasons as to why he did the things he did. But to be brushed off like that, by someone he fought next to....
Joe was literally shaking, hands clenched into fists. He stood there, shaking, his rage jumping everything he wanted to yell and scream out at them. But before anything could be let loose...
People came to his defense. He stood there, jaw locked into place, hands still shaking, as everyone said their thing. He moved a little at Mathy's hand, as if to move from under it, but it didn't move. And thus, it stayed.
Finally, he could speak, now that he had someone on his 'side' and calmed down a little thanks to that...though it was slow, drawn out. He was clearly still angry.
"Yes. We have a poor history with Negators. Had I known one was going to be used, I would've attempted to keep everyone back at Disney, surprise or not." He might have been mistaken to not add that, if they had been told it was their loved ones as the surprise, he probably would've tried scheduling a pick up instead of attending this...party thing.
He ignored the talk of a riddle. He didn't give two flips about it. He was just glaring around(finally not shaking, but still visibly angered) at the three that spoke against him. "I would do anything I could to keep my allies safe, and to not experience anything any of us experienced on that godforsaken ship.

[Dawn : Narnia : Main Hall]
Dawn stared blankly at the others as they all picked on Joe's tension. She was about to chime in, when Sora and the other's beat her to it. Her eyes rested on the ground at the dark memories.
There was much that happened during the time they were locked up on that ship, helpless to do anything. Between James's brainwashing to Joe's eye. She shivered outwardly as her own ordeal with Ajora. Anthony had to carry her out after all was said and done. Dawn was forced to leave her brainwashed friend behind.
"You know, even with this party being pooped on by the negator," Dawn said with a heavy voice even as Amy went to look for clues on this riddle. Now that it was explained. It didn't seem like something that she would be good at, "This just seems so surreal. Everyone here. Though it seems people are missing. We didn't make it this far on our own. Seems like more should be here. Like Maggie or Michelle. They should be here. They went through this journey with us too, don't ya think?"

[[Alan, Kichi, Daniel, Amanda, Benjamin, Fredric, Sven : Narnia : Grand Hall]] As the group of Earthlings, Narnians, and other party-goers continued their respective conversations, the orchestra shifted to a new string-centric piece to narrate their smile-less soiree. "W-we weren't aware that such a thing had occurred," the woman in blue replied, her composure cracking slightly with despair, "I-if we'd known, I'm sure we would never have put you in such a stressful situation. We only hoped to make the party safe for you and your loved ones to relax and enjoy yourselves. I can only apologize in my lord's absence and I assure you we never meant to insult you so gravely."Something about her way of apologizing didn't sit well with Daniel, that, and he wasn't one to back down from a fight no matter how pointless, "Like I said, there's no reason to apologize. You can't be expected to have known what you didn't know. You prepared an excellent party and despite the personal problem he has with your methods of securing everyone's safety, this guy's claim that you insulted us is only secluded to a select few."Kichi wouldn't look Joe in the eye and repeatedly glanced around for a way out and away from the infuriated male. "So what though," Alan shrugged, he seemed apathetic now more than ever and drove the wedge deeper, "So, you had someone use a negator on you, bad things happened because of it. So. What. Do we ban the use of negators? Knives can be used for murder, should we ban them from use in the kitchen, go back to dwelling in caves because at some time somewhere someone has used technology to hurt someone else? The negator isn't being used as a weapon against us, so maybe we should stop complaining about the negator and just enjoy the gift that's been given us?"Sven, who'd been torn between listening to the story about the riddle and the idiotic argument, eventually sighed and walked away. He made his way over to the circle of chairs and couches near the warm fireplace and flopped down, now decisively removed from all involvement. Meanwhile, the conversation about the riddle continued and moved on to more pleasant topics as Amanda laughed, "Haha, have fun dears!" she waved at Amy and her lover as they split off from the group and proceeded to the closest exit, heading through to the southwest wing, passing below the statue of Lucy. Beneath her statue, a golden plaque was bolted to the slanted stone that led into the alcove that housed the massive carving. On it, two lone words lay etched into the gold: "The Savior."

"Uh, no one's saying take the Negator down," Matthew said, looking oddly at both Daniel and Alan, though now mostly at Alan. He seemed bristled. "That's a pretty big leap in logic. We were explaining why Joe was upset. Are you honestly trying to say it's unreasonable for him to feel the way he does?"
"Yeah, I wasn't even there, but even I can understand where he's coming from," John chimed in, crossing his arms and staring at Daniel and Alan. "Even the hostess here seems more accepting than you guys. I don't even know suit-guy, but Alan, I thought you were more accepting of this kind of anxiety stuff. Especially with Kichi as your friend."
"I'm sorry, ma'am, please don't take any of this personally, you didn't know," Jenny replied to the hostess, nodding toward her. Still, her eyes danced around the group with some critical gleam. "All the same, maybe we should just take a break. Joe needs some air, and some people maybe need to reconsider how they treat people dealing with trauma."
Sora looked over to Riku, and the silver haired young man just rolled his eyes, staying off to the side but close enough to intercept anything that might happen. The younger Keyblader sighed, shoulders sagging.

[Joe: Narnia: Main Hall]
He honestly was starting to settle when the Hostess started to apologize. True, while ignorance still didn't really lessen the insult, the fact that she seemed to even get mildly distressed and apologize once she realized what was going on, that helped him start calming down. Mainly because it was obvious to him, now, that they just didn't seem to know.
Then his 'allies' opened their mouths again, and the anger started to come back. And Alan was playing a very dangerous game, shoving words into Joe's mouth.
He chewed on the inside of his cheek, others piping in with their opinions of his defense. And suddenly the anger seemed to dissipate. Oh, there was still an edge of it there. But he seemed to have boiled over, 'cooling off' in a malformed way.
First, he spoke to the Hostess. "I accept your apology. I don't take surprises well, and don't do parties like this well, either. But you don't appear to have malice in your actions. And I apologize to you." He turned to Benjamin. "And you, too. But now's not the best time to riddle me questions, alright?"
He turned now to Alan. "Don't shove words in my mouth. Did I say I'd stop them? Did I say 'take it down'? No. No I did not. I just said I would've tried to not have us come here. Or I just wouldn't have come unless explicitly asked to because I was needed. So maybe you can take your attitude down a few levels."
Next was Daniel. "And you. You wanna pick apart my wording? Fine. Let's play that game. Do I have a personal problem? Why, yes, yes I do. Otherwise I wouldn't be saying anything. Is it more than personal? Why, yes, yes it is, because the event happened to more than just me. Oh, and by the way, that 'select few'? Still multiple people, and thusly an 'us'. So you can take your high and mighty attitude and...well I'd tell you to take it down a few levels but you need to just shove it up your a**. Especially considering you have no right to speak for anyone but yourself and any of your loved ones here because you have not been with any of us long enough to speak for anyone but yourself." He spoke quickly, anger keeping an edge on his words and not letting anyone interrupt him, though his voice was kept low.
"Now, if you excuse me, I need to find some place to cool off. Jenny mentioned air, so I think I'm going to find a place to step outside and let that cold air cool me off."
And with that, Joe moved, Mathy's hand lifting off of him from the motion and he left, planning to head to the nearest exit to outside. Anyone was free to follow him, he wasn't going to snap at them. But he needed the cold to calm down. And he was done with this conversation and needed to be away from the arrogant p***k of a newbie turk as well as two allies that...
He wasn't going to dwell on that. Right now he needed to calm down and forget.

[ Melisandre : Narnia : Grand Hall ]
"Mind if I cut in?"
Melisandre shared a gaze between the dancing pair, asking the permission of the silver-haired woman in red to dance with the brown-haired man in black and gold. The couple seemed to share a look, and after an instant, they separated, the feathered woman doing a low curtsy.
"Of course. He'd be honored," she said, her sultry alto cooing through the music before she walked off to the side, making her way over and taking a seat next to one of the other great guests--Sven.
And so, the Norn sorceress, two feet taller than her new dance partner, placed one hand on his shoulder and took the other to their side, beginning to sway and dance to the music. The moment their hands entwined, one might have even said there was a spark.
"So, who might you be?" the man asked, eying here with a playful grin. "You don't seem to fit in much with the other guests of honor."
"Someone you can trust," she said, her own eyes seeming to dance, reflecting the many lights of the grand hall. "Melisandre, from Tyria."
"Tyria, you say," he repeated, an eyebrow raising above his mask. Despite his irises being the color of old oak, the candlelight made them seem ever brighter. "Well, you'll forgive me, but with the masks--"
"I know who you are," she teased, swirling off to the side. "We haven't reconnected in awhile, but I know you like the back of my own hands."
His eyes lit up with sudden recognition, and his smirk quickly became a full smile. "Well, so it is you, Melisandre. We do have so much to catch up on."
