Meriko Miri: "Kara" phonetically can mean "empty," and it doesn't quite have the same romantic connotations as it does in English. "Roku" means "six," and it's what I think of first when I hear it. It can also mean "decent," in a "I guess it's decent" sort of way. "Umimi" isn't a pre-existing word but I'm afraid I can't say it sounds like a name. ^^; Sorry...I'm annoyingly hard to please when it comes to Japanese names. *cheekrubs her Ensign Padawan* I missed you~ X3 Technically, they're not REALLY Japanese names and are supposed to be written in katakana, but are supposed to have a special meaning when written with kanji as an easter egg. I was REALLY having a hard time finding names that could be written with the Sky, Land, and Sea characters. Unless you have any other suggestions, I might have to re-consider my method of naming them. I don't care about the others, but I've gotten really attatched to the name "Umimi". I think it sounds nice, but I don't think in Japanese to see otherwise.

*pets Harry Kim* Such a sweet little boy. Too sweet. Sometimes I'd jump off the couch and yell, "Oh for CRYING out loud, GROW A PAIR, Kim!"
One of the greatest compliments (in my opinion) I've ever received was my friend saying, "You'd make a great Q." X3
Miri: Go with Umimi then~ ^^
*ponder* My character names are pretty standard (read: uncreative, boring, and trite). Angel St. Emiliani, for instance. I am ashamed. XD Many are derivatives of my name, like Merrick and Merro Kisan. It makes sense, since they're my alternate universe doppelgangers in some ways. X3

I rarely use Japanese names anymore, unless I'm stuck HAVING to use them (like in this case). I prefer to name my characters after rocks, minerals, gemstones, metals, and chemicals, since I'm totally a geology nut. You can never be too sure when you name people in languages other than your native tongue...

Some person I don't know keeps sending me trades with either 0 gold or 1 gold. I think she's begging for donations, but it seems silly to send an empty trade without a subject line or a PM explaining what she wants...

X3 Yeah, Garrett was adorable when Voyager was on, but now the "goober"'s (nickname given to him by Jeri Ryan/7 of 9 )a little older. For 37, he's still damned fine. 4laugh I'm too Betazoidish to be a Vulcan, like I'd like, but I manage. I wonder what a half-Betazoid, half-Vulcan would be like...?

Well I have a character named Rose. xd She's like the most evil person on the planet of Selva but...y'know. sweatdrop
Jack is the replacement for Cid...the stories have become more than just fanfics now.
Well, if anything with name similarities, Sorojo, Sleemo, and Sarjo are all brothers. Their names start with S and end with O. Weird...and Sarjo and Sorojo's names are so similar that sometimes I get mixed up. crying
Their mom is Serqana...there's another S...
But their dads are Banin and Garudo. So there's not much similarities there (no one knows Sarjo's dad...he's not even related to Sleemo or Sorojo...OR Serqana ninja ). It wasn't until later that I realized I had another character named Garudo in another story...but he's a good guy. sweatdrop

Tiana: Betazoid/Vulcan...that sounds like someone who could potentially send all four of a psychiatrist's children to Ivy League.

That makes me think of Legend of Mana, Miri. ^_^
*thinks of more names I've got*
Here's the names of Jack's Novish (or basically, Selvan Scandanavian) family members (the important ones):
Great-Grandpa Jerro Grandpa Norran Talis (his dad) Uncle Kanna Robin (little sister)
Those sound very scandanavian (besides Robin)? sweatdrop *laughs to self*
Oh and his aunt Silphie...almost forgot her. sweatdrop And his twin brother Cain...
