*Luke keeps a hand on her shoulder. He hates it when she cries, if only because there's no way for him to stop it.* What? What'd they find out? Who---
*His memory assists him. He remembers Cora telling him about her world, about how they were noticing that she was coming to the Brink.*

*Luke's face scrunches as Cora tells him. He studies her again. She was older. So much older. Those <********. Those ********... how dare they? Just how dare they do this to her. Cora's said a million times that this place was all she had, and they didn't care. None of them cared. They took it from her anyway. Jesus ******** Christ, look at her...*
*Luke supports her as she loses some ability to hold herself up. Lost in thought, he subconsciously leads her over to one of the stools to sit down.*
*It's so surreal. Seeing her sitting there, like they had so many times before.*
*Luke sits next to her.* How long has it been, Cora? I tried asking you last night, but.. *He shakes his head.* You couldn't answer.

*Luke jumps a little as a computerized voice answers her. He looks oddly at her wrist before staring back up at Cora. Part of him still can't believe it's really her.*
*And 25? Luke had thought her much older. It'd only been a couple years by his estimate.*
*And if she was only 25...and looked 35... This was the one person who had made the Brink worth coming to. The one person who had made it all alright. And look. Look what the ******** had done to her. Frowning, something comes over Luke. He moves forward and he pulls Cora into a hug. He doesn't care what he looks like. He doesn't care.*
*Though very upset, he tries to keep his voice level.* You can't go back.

*cross just looks on...... his grin slipping and his single eye growing dark.... such things to think about.... he wants to peak... but he can't bring himself to shatter thi connection between Cora and Mr. Lucas.... and he can't shake the feeling of dread... and that unfathomable pull he feels.... he needs a drink... but he is far from the rum... and he won't move..*

Luke...before they made me this thing, I thought about you. I thought about you every day. I missed you. I wished I could see you. I let them do this so that I could say this to you now.
