This is only for those who are entering battle though, as some of you may try to fight me there could be a select few who want to fight Sai and Sorain...

actually Aizen if you and another have rolled for initiative the person who succeeds can start things off, future battlers will enter into the battle when they are ready IE no waiting is needed in a technical stand point since after the initiative rolls and battle has started people wishing to enter combat get their turns determined by when they join the battle rather then what there initiative is... example being

Sai and vash are fighting they rolled and started combat already and the turn ordered turned out thusly:

1: Sai
2: Vash

Now say Den joins the fray:

1: Sai
2: Vash
3: Den

then play-chan joins:

1: Sai
2: Vash
3: Den
4: Play-chan

sooo basically if the first few battlers who rolled for initiative don't want to wait for battle to start they can go ahead and start and the following combatants just have to fall in order behind the rest rather then getting a chance to start things off... unless of course you are the only one who rolled then you have to wait = w=b

Rolling initiative is a contested check. Which means that it is their check vs yours. It is used in situations where both parties are aware of each other, and are now trying to determine whom can react first to the situation. When someone joins a battle late, there is no contested check because there is no one whom is already pre aware, and already specifically waiting for them to make their move.

Dont think of inititive as checking to see how fast "I" can do something, its a check to decide simply can you do it FASTER than the other person. Like, if two cowboys were having a stand off, the check would not be how fast can cowboy 1 pull his gun. The check is, who can pull it first. So if the bullets start flying and a third cowboy comes out of the wood works and pull his gun, there is no need for a check because there is no one contesting it, there is no one checking to see if they can pull theres first.

Same concept applies to the system. Only those we started the battle aware of each other roll inititive, those who join late, join at the bottom of the inititve always.


The exception is when attacking or being attacked by a group. In this instance the reason why they all need to roll is because Azien is trying to see if he can react faster than all of them. Even if not all of them are joining the battle at this time, the equation that is being checked is. "Can Azien react faster than this group" Or more specifically, " In which order does everyone in this instance react" Even if your reaction is to not join the fight, you still reacted, by not joining.

Now, some of the people in the group are not actually in the battle area, or are in hiding, or for some logical reason would not be within that split second that the battle was starting. Then they would not have to check. So lets say, some of the people in the group are already rprically hiding, or for what ever reason not in the area. Then no, they dont have to check and may simply choose to not enter the fight at that time. So basically, if your logically out of sight, or out of the area, and cant be directly targeted without a tracking check, then you dont have to roll initiative.
