My guess would be life force, like any other kitsune...but as good as that is, it's like lightning...it can't sustain you indefinitely...Kero, you can eat energy, right? Can you live solely off of energy?

I can't eat energy yet, ma'am...but you are right, even If I could, the energy would sustain my mind, and for a while, my body, but it would be like using drugs...you have to have real food along with it...

Tam sighs. "Emotions, mostly, though ye are right to a small extent. I do feed off of some life energy. Kind of have to. If I didn't I'd be an emotional wreck. But that is one of the reasons I'm a bard. I use my music to feed. A little here. A little there. Never enough to harm anyone and never from my friends. But mostly I live off the emotional states of those around me. Anger fills me quickly, but it has a price. Fear leaves me hungry. Love and affection are the best for sustaining an even emotional keel fer me... but it all comes to me and I can live off almost any."

Tam accepts the stick then tries to brain him with it... gently, of course.When Kero ducks and runs away, he is off after him in a flash, waving the stick in the air over his head, brandishing it like a club. "Come back here, ye young whipper snapper...." cries Tam is a perfect imitation of an elderly neighbor they have.

Tam sighs. Kero really hasn't learned the fact that he can track him across mountains, even when he's tunneling.
Hopian laughs. He's witnessed Tam following Kero before and knows how good of a tracker he truly is, though he's not quite sure what it is that Tam uses to guide his hunt.
Sure enough, after a few minutes, Tam grins evilly and getting a large thin branch he pokes down through the leaves, giving Kero a goosing that sends him squealing into the air.
