Ka'rinth turned even as Than prepared to tap him and smiled at Than from within his hood as he said softly, I do apologize if my retinue is not in keeping with your tastes, but they are part of my awareness and my being. You may ask I be escorted out if you wish but on what grounds? That your arm is afronted by me? I assure you though they are uncomfortable the spirits are a part of my sight and as such you may ask me to remove them as I would ask you to remove your arm. May I ask your name? As he spoke Ka'rinth pulled the tortured souls closer to him so that they became in effect a second skin instead of a representation of his personal space. His words were neither truth nor fiction but simply blurred facts. He could easily pull the souls into his core and hide them, yet those that had been around during his prior occupance of the area knew of his nature. It would also cease working as a blind against scrying and as such he was hiding a portion of his nature that he was not interested in revealing. After all, to him the physical was easily altered but the spiritual was far more telling.

Thanatos didn't make a single motion while Karinth spoke, not even to elicit the grammatical or 'dumb' errors that he uttered. "You know quite well that I'm not the first person to take the issue up with you. If I'm to take your words at face value, then you must either concede you're either incompetent or that you are entirely irresponsible. I'm blind, as you can see, and live in a fish bowl-like isolation, and even I've got more sense than to do what you're pulling. And secondly, don't dare make such a careless comparison to my artificial limb. If my arm were truly a hindrance against my will to anyone else here, I would either remove it or remove myself. You also started your meddling after you came in, Ka'rinth-san, was it? So if you haven't got any better reason to continue doing what you're doing than 'I can do it because it's a part of me,' then perhaps you should leave and return after you've reviewed your code of etiquette. If you have a good reason, then say it. A party already full tension has no place for what you're doing. If nothing else, use this as an exercise for your other methods of 'awareness,' as you call it. I believe I'm being more than fair with the number of options I'm giving you." True, what Than was saying was far from ligh-hearted party conversation, but Ka'rinth's field of tortured souls was certainly no party-face either. Ka'rinth was speaking to someone who was going to confront him on the grounds he laid.
Twi, Griffin's favorite person in the whole world, was listening to Thanatos's rather lengthly speech to Ka'rinth. The tortured souls did irk him a little, but distractions made it bearable. Still, drinking from a cup of orange juice, Twi had to be intrigued by this change in approach from the last time he'd seen Thanatos. "Well..... snap....." whispering to himself, he continued to watch.

Ka'rinth's smile broadened as he tilted his head back revealing dark skin beneath the hood and calm red eyes that cast shadows over his mouth from the angle his head was held. He laughed at Than as he responded, Well seems to me I am caught, very well consider this, they are in fact a part of me. Simply because I held them closer on arrival is not the same as my 'doing' anything. They are simply a manner for me to not be the subject of intense study much as the field my body is producing. If you'd like I'd be happy to let you disperse the electric field if that will make you happier. Otherwise you may say anything else you have to say and dismiss yourself. If the host wishes me to stop he may ask me, but you presume much to be a guest as I myself am and impose your will on others. Also tell me why you being blind should matter to me? Apparently we are both aware that there are many manners of seeing. On second thought, tell me nothing else, simply speak the remainder of your mind and be gone, I am only interested in the new player for now. I have slept overlong and only recently returned from the long dream. As he finished speaking, Ka'rinth turned away from Than clearly done with him, the electro magnetic field around his body intensified. If Than attempted to touch him there would be a warning of heavy static that would make hair stand on end, if he did in fact touch Ka'rinth then a powerful electric current would be transferred to him. Unlike magic, this was actually a side effect of Ka'rinth's body having adapted to imitate some of the features of an electric eel as both a defense and an awareness. Of course there were many ways to bypass a current but the true purpose was disruption of electronic observation and to warn off others from invading his personal space. In truth part of Ka'rinth's blood lusted for battle again, here in a place where so many entities roamed with powers greater than his own. Of course, finesse could render a difference in power moot so perhaps it was time and past for him to roam and challenge the players.

"I understand; you've missed the point of my statement. I'm disappointed in your level of comprehension. Perhaps one day you will be able to understand, if you study intensely." Thanatos turned to whoever was nearest him and spoke loudly for anyone near him to hear. "If one of you would kindly retrieve the doormen for me, I would be most grateful. One of our party-mates is unable to control himself, so to speak." Hopefully someone would answer the request. Thanatos knew of the intensified electromagnetic field due to a 'tingling' in his left arm. Ka rinth would feel the slightest rise of energy in Than's direction, but he wouldn't likely be able to tell all 6 plans of attack that had already formed in Than's mind. Thanatos spoke to Karinth again. "My name is Thanatos, son of Mastema and Nana. I promise no harm will come to you if you allow the doormen to escort you out quietly. Know that my regret for having to resort to this is real, but I take no more responsibility for this occurence than you." Thanatos stood deathly still, yet not the least bit tense, save for his jaw muscles from putting so much effort into to talking to Karinth. There were no indications of anything the boy was capable of attacking with.

Ka'rinth simply raised an eyebrow as he turned back towards Than and sighed before rolling his eyes and removing his cloak. What was ultimately revealed was far from human as he said softly, I see that rudeness is common place in youth. By all means, someone find the doorman and ask him to get this person to stop harassing me. Surely you are familiar with differences? As he spoke Ka'rinth tilted his head and turned it so that his neck rotated in an unnatural manner. He appeared to be an odd combination of animals in an overall humanoid form and as he held his cloak he said specifically to Than, Again, the host may ask me to do some things, but you have no right to simply decide what is right or not. I was told to hand over weapons, I carry no weapons. Should you truly feel that my natural defenses constitute such a danger to your person than perhaps you should have stayed away from me, otherwise you will need to remove my teeth, limbs, and possibly a few other parts. I have yet to threaten anyone here, so by all means tell me why I should stand for your oh so bold harassment? Or was it my servants that put you on edge? Again, they have not touched you, nor could they directly so you have no right to ask anything. His words were sharp and revealed fangs and a serpentine tongue while a long tail that seemed covered in black fur swished behind him gracefully. Ka'rinth's eyes shifted color sharply as he regarded Than though none would know if it was in response to his mood or purposeful. Ka'rinth's mind on the otherhand was not wholly on battle, should Than attack him he would respond in kind, but he had found long ago that with unknown opponents it was better to simply react on the fly than assume anything.

*Kaiori’s smile widens, not enough to let the flash of her fangs scare the woman but enough to show some actual happiness this evening.* Oh yes music is most important for children! Griffin has taken up the piano but he rarely plays for an audience, and Bell sings all the time! Sometimes even without realizing where she is! *Kaiori laughs lightly the sound ringing out from her lips, as she remembers her young daughter singing in the halls or in the gardens or as her big brother plays a made up tune of the piano. Good memories were a relief for her and it eased her temper for the moment.*

Piano? Hnn~ We have one aswell, though I'm not entirely sure how interested the children are in learning to play it. Though when they were yonger they certainly liked to stike at random chords. sweatdrop
*Yes, when the children were young they would play the piano off-key with pride. At least of everyone at the party, Nana and Kaiori seemed to be getting along all right. Surely there could be others that would open up a little and find commonality. It was nice to hear genuine happy laughter, it calmed the soul and eased tension. Nana would take note of Thanatos approching and speaking to Ka'rinth. What was going on over there? Thanatos was calling for the doormen? If anything she was happy to hear Thanatos refer to Nana as his mother when introducing himself to the man he was now trying to get tossed*

"Now now Ladies, we're here to enjoy ourselves." KB would interrupt the bickering cheerfully, teasing the pair even as he drifted by. Not bothering to stop and be part of their bickering, he'd simply continue towards the charming company of Nana and Kai. Than and Ka'rinth were of course allowed to do whatever they wanted by KB's outlook, he simply found the two lacked the wit or devotion to the subject to make the wordplay amusing or interesting. Arguing the semantics of each other's idiocies at a party was simply lame.
So it was that KB would bust in on Kai and Nana's conversation, flashing Kai a knowing grin. "Nana, Kai." He nodded to each in turn, before settling back into standing at his casual distance from either two. "It's going to be a couple of minutes before your drink is ready." KB informed Kaiori politely, hoping he wasn't intruding too heavily upon their conversation.

Tegral, a little bored with his conversation partner, gave Sai a solitary bow of the head, "If you'll excuse me." He intoned politely as he turned and started away. Than and the strange electro-guy were butting heads, a quick relay to Rookin and Kah was enough to ensure the two of them would not ruin the party. If either got out of hands the pair would deal with them accordingly. The eel of a man seemed familiar by some standards, he'd seen him before once, or maybe it was Hidjie? He could just vaguely remember.
He passed the two and considered his options. He could approach the twins, though he was certain neither of them were too anxious to speak to the man who killed their mother, even if he did bring her right back. He could turn and approach TJ, that worthless, scum sucking, godless whore sucker of a man, but frankly found the thought of speaking to such a lowly cretin more than insulting. Mastema again? He was actually half enjoying his little conversation with him - he was a man right? Or, last but not least, he could go and fire off witty banter with KB, as much as he loathed the prospect of speaking to the traitorous b*****d again, he figured it was a far better choice then the ones available to him. Maybe he'd leave soon, but only after he met the host, of course. It'd just be rude to leave before hand.
Approaching the trio, KB, Nana, and Kaiori, Tegral put on his best I'm-not-gonna-kill-you-yet smile and gave a small nod of his head if any of the three happened to glance at him. A tall man, standing easily at six and a half feet tall, the Admiral presented himself as straight forward as his combat tactics. Broad of shoulder, thick of arms, he looked a handsome sight with the cascading barrage of blond hair that fell over his eyes of icy blue. His jaw was firm, but there was a definite softness around his lips and eyes, artificial as it may be, Tegral had done his damned best to replicate his physical features to the letter, with the exception of a few freckles here and there he had removed. "Ladies." Tegral intoned politely, clearly including KB amongst those of p***s-lacking gender. KB's such a b***h.

*Kaiori nods to Nana. She was having a surprisingly good time with the woman. They seemed to have more than a few things in common and she seemed so pure. Her eyes momentarily dart to meet with KB’s. Of course he knew, not that it was a bad thing in this case but it was more than a little embarrassing for her. She had watched him casually go off and had hopelessly wished it wasn’t for the reason she thought, but of course it was and she didn’t mind as much now, since somewhere in the room there was blood. She had tried not to smell it for long, denying herself that simple pleasure since it would most likely lead to less simple things. Her hands glide down from her hips to her sides and she lets out a small quivering sigh since the corset like top wouldn’t let her chest relax.* Ahh, I see, thank you. *She mutters her lips hardly moving and her lashes lowering to hide her emotions.*

Oh, hello again.
*KB was back, having ordered Kaiori a drink. He wasn't gone long but the two had a chance to talk a little, mother to mother. Shortly after that Tegral 'Admiral' would wander over. Nana had seen him speaking with Mastema earlier; a new face and a new reason to begin stuttering all over again*
H--hello.

"Admiral!" KB exclaimed cheerfully, bowing lightly. "Did you have a chance to speak with Mastema regarding the operation?" He asked curiously, trying to remain jovial. There was no good reason for everyone at the party to be fighting. Sure things might have been rough among everyone, but the fact that no one had struck anyone else yet was nothing short of amazing. The BC had never had all its enemies in one spot before, let alone peacefully.

oh, hello. *Kaiori glances at Teg, her eyes slightly colder than before. More than anything giving him the “You saw me naked” glare, but she was truly in his debt so she gives in and smiles softly and bows her head slightly. Her hair tumbles over her shoulders and her eyes glimmer with red at the sudden movement, her body just screaming for her to make a move on someone more on the fleshy side.*

"As a matter-a-fact I have not. I spoke with him briefly, but only on a social level. Was trying to pick his brain, but then I remembered something more important and went to speak with Sairys." His grin never altered, his voice the same exact polite tone it had been when he approached, even his eyes retained that same, flat, shimmer to them. But inside he was a raging maelstrom of hatred and spite, he'd kill KB right then and there if he'd wanted, but no! He needed this shell alive, for now, if only to deliver his end of the bargain. Even knowingly KB was still the perfect pawn.
His gaze shifted to Kaiori, politely inquiring after her well being. "Good evening again, Mrs. Night. I trust the new body isn't too troublesome? And I do hope you'll forgive me for, erm, blowing your last one up." That got a good natured chuckle from the Admiral, but it held no warmth. It was as fake as the lips that smiled, sometimes he tried to remember what it was like to be alive then recalled that biologicals had inferior memories and recoiled under the fac the couldn't see as far back then when he'd first been augmented for the cy-ops program. True he knew of his past, knew he did this and this, but he couldn't remember any details.
Nana he all but ignored, save a polite nod in her direction while he approached. That one he'd kill when the time came, but now he was curious as to how the integration of the new body was going with Kaiori. Her neural scans were strange, almost as if she had another being on top of another being inside her skull - which was all very plausible in this realm. Oh well, no matters.

*Operation? Nana could only be curious about what KB was speaking of, though now that tied in with what she saw earlier. The admiral had been speaking to Mastmea about something, an operation of some sort which KB and Tegral wanted to carry out. She would of course inquire later, possibly once back home. The peace was uneasy but yes it was peace, for the first time, if only to see this mysterious party thrower*
