Bakura looked over at Jounouchi. "Yeah....I know....but this is something that doesn't change over night Jounouchi....I've been like this for a long time...when I was alone." Came the spirit's melancholy reply.

"Well, like I said. Not alone anymore." He stuck his dish and utensils into the dishwasher quickly and then turned around, leaning against the counter's edge. He pointedly focused his eyes on Bakura, looking him over quickly. It was almost unbelievable that he was even having this conversation. "Yeah, take your time an' all that adjusting, but still... jus' don't forget."

"heh....right..." Came Bakura's quick response as he looked over at Jounouchi and gave him a bit of a forced grin.

((ah sorry, I just couldnt think of anything to type...x___x my brain is mushy *pokes it*))
Yuugi waited until Marik released the knife from his throat before trying anything. His eyes scanned the over turned desk and found a very heavy looking paper weight. Taking a deep breath, he grabbed it and moved swiftly past Marik, ducking just under his arms and opening the door so he could stand in the door way. It was no use trying to lock the door, for it locked from the inside. Lifting the paper weight up to his head daringly he narrowed his eyes towards Marik.
((and isnt that just a wonderful post? *sighs* god its horrible!))

"Hey! I mean that!" Jou's eyes narrowed and his expression became a bit rougher around the edges with a frown. He didn't like upset people. "What, don't believe me? Why not?" His head tilted to one side, blond bangs swaying out in front of his eyes. Outside, thunder boomed, and through the open window the only kind of light that filtered indoors was grey. An ominous aura continued to gather over Domino City, unnoticed by most but stirring small feelings of foreboding in those who were more sensitive to the affairs of shadows.
An amused eyebrow was raised, Marik's body turning so that it could sufficiently follow the smaller boy's movements. "What is that, exactly?" The weight was shaped like a small fish, clear in some spots but a such a swirl of colors in others that you couldn't even peek through it. The whole idea of using a small fake fish to subdue him, Marik, who had just escaped from the Shadow Realm using nothing but it own will and want for vengence... well, on a normal day, it would have been flat-out halarious.
But Marik wanted this over with. Now. That, and no matter how amusing, this was still an attempt to get the best of him; to go against him. No, it wasn't this little vessel's job to be spunky. It was his job to submit. "What, in the name of the old Gods of the upper Nile, are you planning to do with that?" His eyes flashed as they became narrower. The light glinted off of them almost just like it glittered off of the blade still in his hand, held casually but tight.
((Is not horrible! xP I hope you don't mind my personalizing of the paperweight. I just seem to see those little paperweight-fishies in a lot of places, sooo...
*glomps Ci* YAY!))

Bakura mumbled a slight response again to Jounouchi. "I....I didn't mean it like that..." Letting out a heavy sigh Bakura stood up from the table and started for the entrance to the kitchen. "I'm going to go lie down Jou..." Bakura spoke softly as he passed the blond and left kitchen.

"...Oh... okay..." Jou watched Bakura walk away until he was out of the blond's line of vision. He was a little thrown off by Bakura's sudden sullen mood, but if he thought about it, Bakura probably had a good reason for his behavior... the day hadn't exactly started out on the best of terms. "You want me to get you up at a certain time, or...?"

((haha omg I have one of those on my piano! Its so purty and stuff lol. That amused me...I can see that image in my head. Using a fishie to scare away an evil person...might work XP))
Yuugi paused and looked towards the paper weight for a moment. Well it was heavy right? If he threw it hard enough to Marik's head he might be able to knock him out. Well atleast it was better then nothing... "I..." Yuugi paused to think of what to say, but really couldnt find the right words. "eh..."
He took another step back into the hall way, just enough so if Marik tried to make a move towards him he could run down the stairs, in the process maybe throwing the fish...paperweight at him. Afterall, he had been lucky many times before, why not now?

Bakura didn't bother to respond he just continued onto his room and let his body fall onto his bed once he got there. He continued to stare up at the ceiling for a while and curled up into a bit of a ball.

Jou waited in his position to wait and see if Bakura would end up changing his mind and walking back into the kitchen.
He didn't.
Jounouchi Katsuya was never a very patient person, meaning that it was no surprise that after three minutes of solitude in the kitchen he found himself having to do something. He went over to the counter and grabbed a few plain-white paper towels, sopping them down with water and then wringing the access out so that it wouldn't be too wet when he cleaned the kitchen table off with them. That process killed about another five minutes; and in that amount of time Bakura still hadn't shown up again. Now, this in itself gave him three options...:
A. Bakura was still resting, apparently. Leave him alone. B.Go bug Bakura and see if you can get him to explain what's bothering him, because something obviously is. C. Find something else to think about.
Jou had already been about halfway up the stairs before option B had been officially decided upon. One at the top of the steps, his speed slowed down to a quiet walk he had become rather good at over the years. It was good for getting past places where people were sleeping or just wanted quiet without being disturbed. If Bakura really was sleeping, Jou didn't want to take the chance of waking him up. It didn't take long for Jou to reach the bedroom door though, even with his slow and careful pace, and he had just as silently cracked open the door and peeked in on the still form of Bakura. "...You awake?"
((xDD Now you know you can use that fish to fend of EVIL!))
"Enough of this now..." Marik growled just as Yuugi took his step back. "Your games mean nothing to me. Do you not remember my earlier threats, Yuugi Motou?" There was a rather large crash of thunder outside, shaking the house on it's foundations ever so slightly. "If I do not get what I came for now, I will come back. And the next time, I wont be so generous." Yuugi's bedroom was seeming to darken, the air becoming colder. "Give me what is rightfully mine child. NOW." Unfortuneatly for Yuugi, Marik wasn't any more patient than Jounouchi was. Without waiting for a reply, the Egyptian stepped forward swiftly, coming right for Yuugi with the shadow-conjoured blade still in hand.

Somehow Bakura knew that Jounouchi wouldn't be one to leave him alone for very long and he had been right. Sighing when he got even less time then he expected though he turned his head so that his eyes met up with Jounouchi's. "Yeah, I'm awake....need something?" came his rather flat response.

Yuugi's eyes widened and he ducked, stumbling backwards a bit. Luckily, he missed tripping down the stairs by a thread, the back of his heel right on the edge. He then felt a little sting on his cheek. Forgetting about his current situation, he brought a hand up to touch it. Pulling it back he saw traces of blood on his fingers. No matter. He wasnt going to even bring the millenium items close to Marik.
For a brief second, Yuugi looked behind him to see the tumbling stairs below him. It felt like a cliff at that moment. His heart beat heavily as he turned his head back to look towards the threatener. Once again, he was trapped. If he tried to get away next time he would end up falling down the stairs, and yet if he didnt, he would be cut again, and maybe worst that time.
"I'll never give them to you"

Marik's arm lashed out suddenly, swiftly as a striking snake snaps it's jaws out towards his prey. The arm snaked its way around Yuugi's narrow waist, pulling the boy forward until they were pulled together; chest to chest, hip to hip. The hand with the dagger in it slid up Yuugi's arm to grab at the wrist of the hand still holding the 'fish weapon'. His hold felt gentle enough, but it would be as hard to break as steel.
"Never ever?" He asked mockingly, his voice quiet, low, and of course, menacing. Yet he sounded almost playful (in the sense that he was like a cat playing with its mouse before devouring it). "Now, no need to be like that, you little insolent fool..." The smooth-as-silk tone grated out to something more dangerous at those last three words, but it was just as smooth and nonchalant as he spoke again. Mockingly, his lips brushed the edge of Yuugi's ear as he continued to talk. "This could be done so much easier and less... painfully." A dark chuckle rumbled out from his throat. "Yes, much less painfully for the both of us... all you have to do is comply, little Yuugi..."
Jou caught the sigh, frowning a little guiltily at it. He now felt like he was intruding; being a bother. "Just wanted to check up on you...eh, but y'know, you want me to leave and i'll leave. Hey, no problem, I got things to do...!" He was just about rambling on now, and he knew it. He just couldn't think of anything else to say though, being here faced with Bakura straight on again.

Bakura chuckled lightly and then turned over on his bed to look at Jounouchi. "No you don't...and you know it too." Came the spirit's snide remark. "To be honest with you though I just don't feel good...." Bakura paused for a moment to let out a sigh. "Something feels....wrong....out of place....and no it's not you..." Stopping again and looking out the window, gazing into the dark sky which would decide to light up every few seconds. "Something out there..." Bakura's voice trailed off as he finished his though and then quickly turning his head back around. His eyes meeting once again with Jounouchi's.

"Er..." Jou tried to to think of a good retort to the first thing Bakura had said, but unfortunately, he had been caught in that lie rather well. "... Alright, so maybe I don't..." He looked away from Bakura and rubbed the back of his head, then looking straight back at the thief in time to make eye-contact with him. The look in Bakura's eyes sent a shiver of cold down his spine, mixed with a sense of apprehension. "What... kind of thing... do you think is out there?" His voice had now dropped in volume, much quieter than before. "... And if you're not feelin' good, is there anythin' I can do...?" He still felt bad about Bakura's earlier discovery, and wanted to make up for it by doing anything that he could.
