Keegan walked slowly, hands in his pockets as he followed along some ways behind the ever-energetic Sheena; the pink haired girl was still babbling on about a mile a minute and he was only catching about every third or fourth word she said, and he'd long since given up on trying to get her to repeat herself. As the strange pair made their way along Route 111, Keegan could already see Mount Chimney rising up out of the horizon, and the very sight of the volcano comforted him. "We'll be home soon," he said to nobody in particular, realizing the route they were on was rather familiar - it had been the same path he'd taken his first days away from home, when he and Helios had traveled down Jagged Pass and found themselves here. But that would have meant they would have passed through that same boulder-blocked spot. Perhaps they'd come along just after someone had cleared them, but how did the rocks get back to that same position?

The thought vanished from his mind, as now Sheena was going on and on about a large, beautiful house they were now passing; the girl seemed to drip with boundless amounts of energy as she ran back and forth from spot to spot, twittering like an excited Butterfree that couldn't choose a flower to feed from. Finally Keegan caught up to her, but the girl had already run ahead again, and was now rambling on about the lovely little pond the owner of the mansion had out back. Keegan paused to study the building; it was a rather impressive sight to behold. He glanced at the name on the mailbox - Winstrate. Shrugging, the boy continued on, not paying the pond so much as a glance as he passed by.

"Poliwrath! Break through that fire and attack with Dynamic Punch!" In almost an exact copy, movement for movement, both Dramon and the Pokemon pulled their fists back and punched forward. However, Poliwrath's knuckles had a target.

And thanks to Lock-On, the target was connected. Flareon took the hit straight to his stomach and was sent sliding through the dirt. He stood up slowly, now a bit woozy and confused about his surroundings.

"Bwaha! I'm surprised your little fox survived!" There was a loud crack of his knuckles, "However, since he did live through it, he's got quite a Confusion effect about him." Poliwrath cracked his knuckles as well, then raised his fists into the air triumphantly.

Kilik growled, then looked at Flareon. The attack had been much stronger than the boy was going to give credit for. However, he wasn't going to sit back and do nothing. "Flareon! Use a Fire Spin again!" Once again, a pillar of flames wrapped around Poliwrath like a snake, the tongues licking every inch of his body. Flareon wobbled lightly, lucky to have not hit himself. Otherwise, he'd be down for the count.

"Keegan!" Sheena pouted, running back over to him and blocking his path. "Why are you being such a party pooper?" Her tone was obviously mocking him, although the spirited girl couldn't quite figure out why the redhead was so quiet. "Why are you all dreary and bad-moody?" she asked, poking him in the ribs. "Maybe some of my energy will rub off on you!"

"I'm not bad-moody," he frowned, not realizing he wasn't helping his case. "And I seriously hope none of your so-called energy rubs off on me! You're downright annoying!"

Sheena giggled again. "You're teasing me again! That could only mean one thing...!" her singsong voice rang out. She twirled around, her blue-pleated skirt fanning out around her.

"Oh god, you're not going to sing, are you?" Keegan asked slowly, mortified.

The girl burst out laughing again, and shook her head. "No, of course not, silly! I can't sing without music!"

Keegan felt the colour return to his cheeks, and he sighed. "Why are you following me, again? Are you determined to pester me until I snap and start killing things?"

"No, of course not!" Sheena protested, a little offended. "I'm going with you because I think you're a good trainer, and I could learn many things from you! Plus, it's a lot nicer to have company than to travel alone."

Keegan was about to object that she could learn nothing good nor useful from him, when another voice caught his ear. It wasn't cute and annoying, like Sheena's, but it was more mature, and slightly sultry. He could swear he'd heard it before...

"Yoo-hoo! Kee-gan! Over here!" Keegan turned slowly, the only thought in his mind being 'What next?', and he spotted a lanky woman, with short, dark hair sporting professional attire walking towards him, a rather familiar man in a backwards baseball cap. "Do you remember me?"

Keegan fumbled for her name, finally spitting it out. "G-Gabby?" he questioned, squinting at the reporter. "Is that you?"

"You do remember me! Good! My cameraman, Ty, and I battled you a while back, on the beach east of Mauville City. You did a number on us last time, and we were wondering if perhaps you'd like to give us another showing of your battle prowess?"

"I, uh, guess so," Keegan shrugged, nearly being pushed to the ground as Sheena barged into the conversation.

"Ooh, I want to battle with you too! Can we be on the same team? Please?" she begged, tugging on the end of Gabby's sleeve like an impatient child.

"That would be marvelous!" Gabby exclaimed, yanking out a notepad and jotting something down. "And you would be...?"

"My name is Sheena Naokumi!" she nearly shouted at the woman.

"Sheena, all right, that's perfect. Are you perhaps Keegan's new girlfriend?" Gabby asked, tapping her pen against her upper lip thoughtfully.

"You bet I am!" Sheena giggled. "We've just begun our journey together and--"

"She's not my girlfriend," Keegan interjected, stepping between Gabby and Sheena. "She's just some random twit who started following me after I left Mauville," he tried to explain.

"This will make a great story!" the reporter beamed. "New love! Strengthened by cooperation and compromise!"

"No!" protested Keegan. "No new love! She's just some girl who happens to be incredibly bothersome and persistent! Can we just get this stupid battle over with already?" he groaned, hanging his head in defeat and unclipping a Poke Ball from his belt.

"And they're just raring to go!" Gabby commented, continuing to scribble on her notepad. After she'd finished writing, she dropped it back into her messenger bag and also withdrew a Poke Ball. "Get ready, Ty! Let's see how well these young love birds work together!"

There was a flurry of blows exchanged, fur flying, flames flashing, and electricity crackling. Finally, huffing and puffing, the two came to a stop, barely able to stand anymore.

"I'll let you off...this one time," the Charmeleon wheezed, still finding his movements restrained by the paralysis.

"You're lucky that I was going easy on you," Flash returned, lying down in the dirt to catch his breath. The two refused to look at each other, mainly due to stubbornness. Kasiya sighed and held up the Jolteon's Pokeball, and recalled him. Kyle did the same; both trainers seemingly unable to think of something to say.

Finally, Jeff broke the silence, looking at Kasiya as he spoke. "You ready to go on?" he asked, holding up two Pokeballs at once. "If so, we'll make this one a double battle, two Pokemon each.

"That's fine," Kasiya gave an exasperated sigh, looking towards Hiro. Fang was once again perched on the Arcanine's head, opening his mouth wide and shutting it again, and looking rather ridiculous. Hiro jumped up, causing a sleeping Adamantine to tumble to the ground. Kasiya also recalled the young Larvitar, and shook her head at Hiro. "I need you," she told the faithful Arcanine. "You're my insurance. We still need to get to Fuchsia City." Hiro nodded, jerking his head to the side and sending the Crobat into the air once more. The only option she had left was Casimir, who'd be pairing up with the loopy flier. Kasiya silently prayed that the Absol wouldn't turn on his partner as she lifted the Ultra Ball, closing her eyes as she let it fly.

Keegan thought back to the first time he'd battled Gabby and Ty, the duo had used Magnemite and Whismur. He sighed to himself, and even though he wanted to let Themis have another go in battle, he decided against it, his fingers finding their way to the blue and white Great Ball that housed the new Geodude. "I'm ready," he said impatiently, tapping his foot angrily.

Finally getting the message, Sheena took her place beside him, holding up a Poke Ball of her own. "Good luck, Keegan!" she smiled, blowing a kiss towards him as she released her Pokemon. It was a Numel, looking slow and dopey, with large, round eyes and short, stubby little legs.

"Let's go, Tierra!" Keegan said, and the Great Ball released the grayish Pokemon in a flash of white light.

Gabby and Ty released their Pokemon as well, only they weren't as Keegan remembered them. Gabby's Magnemite had evolved into a Magneton, and Ty's Whismur was now a Loudred. Keegan sized up the situation quickly, grinning broadly, for he and Sheena had the definite advantage.

"Keep the camera rolling, Ty!" Gabby told her partner. "I want all of this battle on tape!" Ty gave a thumbs-up, and Gabby looked to her Magneton. "Start off with a Sonic Boom!" The magnetic Pokemon hovered on the spot, spinning around once and loosing a small wave of sound that traveled along the ground and smashed into Sheena's Numel. It grunted slightly, showing no signs that it was ready to quit just yet.

The plucky girl wasted no time in telling her Pokemon what to do; seconds later, the Numel hopped forward, opening its mouth wide and blasting out a wide inundation of flames towards the Magneton. Keegan nodded in approval at the Numel's impressive Flamethrower, and Sheena just smiled. "Boris is really good with fire," she told him happily.

"Evidently," Keegan grinned, looking over at the Loudred. It had started to jump up and down, howling loudly to boost its attack power. "All right, Tierra! Try your new Rock Smash on Loudred!" The nearby tumbleweed would have responded to the command sooner as Tierra hovered on the spot idly, her arms dangling at her sides in a relaxed manner. Keegan groaned again, wondering silently if his Pokemon was really that lazy, or just incredibly stupid.

Although the Phanpy was now energetically and relentlessly beating the exhausted Zubat to a pulp, ignoring any of the bat's attempts at Leech Life, M.A.'s attention was drawn elsewhere. First and foremost, she could hardly believe that this was the same Kilik she'd met only this morning. Was it? Yes, there was no question, especially after he let loose both his familiar Weezing and Flareon. But was he really this. . . Why did it sometimes feel he was just as much of the bad guy as the other fella? Mary-Anne felt utterly confounded. If Kilik had been in that same crime organization. . . Had he 'killed, killed, killed, and pillaged, plundered, and looted' too? No, he'd been so kind earlier to her. But then again, he had just been so. . . would one call it arrogance? 'You're not even good enough to kiss the shoes I wear and worship the ground I spit on.' Even if this was to some low criminal or villain, still. . . Was this really Kilik?

Perhaps it was. She didn't know just then. People could be surprising, after all.

This Team Rocket encountered shattered her naive belief that everyone she'd meet on her journey would be as wonderful and pleasant as they had been. The stuff on the news had never really touched her before; cruel people weren't entirely real or tangible to her mind. But now she realized the gravity of reality -- it wasn't all a field of lilies.

When Bugsy arrived, she was also astonished to see how young the Gym Leader was. Yet he held such dignity that M.A. was quite impressed. As for Heracross. . . Well, save for Scizor, whom she hadn't known was a Bug-type to begin with, Bugsy's Heracross was the hugest insect she'd ever seen. So naturally she felt a bit of that old fear rise up again.

The helicopter, up to that point, had been forgotten. But now the Grunt Ky, Crenu, and M.A. had fought was climbing up the rope ladder, the bulging sack of Pokeballs on his back. He was turning tail, even abandoning his hopeless Zubat.

The somewhat attractive woman pilot turned at him viciously with a glare once the Grunt came aboard. "Did you get that Pokemon?"

"I didn't know how to look through it all for it, so I nabbed 'em all."

"Fool," she spat. "You made a huge commotion, just to have some fun with blowing things up. Now there's a huge mess with the media," she gestured with her free arm to other helicopters hovering some distance away, "which could've been easily avoided."

She then glanced down at Dramon, who technically was her superior. "Hurry up, you incompetent. . ."

As the battle raged on, Bugsy began to like the idea of his people getting hit by a stray attack less and less. "Alright, nothing more to see here!" He turned to the crowd, waving them off. "Go back to your homes before anything bad happens!" Only a few people trickled out. "That's an order! Or I'll have you all arrested for interfering in Gym Leader affairs! Don't forget I know all of you by name!" That motivated them. Even though he was just a kid, being a high class Pokemon trainer, and the manager of a Gym, did have its advantages.

In only a few moments the area had completely deserted, save Bugsy, Kilik, the two little trainers, and the Rockets. The Leader eyed the helicopter, wondering what the best course of action was.

Akane finally made it to the top of all those stone steps, breathing fairly hard after her brisk walk and breif panic. Twinkers had what looked like a grimace on its little face, eyes closed, as it was caried gently by the young trainer.

A large cat Pokemon, a Persian, was sunning itself on the path at the top. It lifted its large head lazily to look at the new-comer, got up and stretched like only a cat can and promptly stalked away with its head held high in a snooty kind of way. Akane got the distinct feeling that she shouldn't get too close to that cat.

With nobody in sight, Akane timidly ventured inside the front doors. The enterance area was light and airy. Many potted plants were tastefully spaced around and the ceiling was high, stairs nearby led up to a balcony that overlooked the foyer.

"Hello?" she said uncertainly into the silent house.

Wanting to get out of this building Dante decided that it was time to finish the battle. "Apollo use Take Down on that Poliwhirl." Apollo even though he was feeling tired reared back before dashing forward and slamming his body into the black and white Poliwhirl. The water pokemon gave a cry at the attack and stumbled back a few paces before falling down on to the ground knocked out. Apollo being hit with the recoil of that attack stumbled slightly before trotting over to Dante tiredly. Smiling slightly Dante routed through his pack until he found an old Super Potion that he had found a while ago. "Here you go boy." He said as he sprayed it on the pokemon's wounds. Feeling better almost instantly Apollo gave his trainer a happy little nuzzle before they both turned there attention to where Kenny was busy doing his best to dodge Spark attacks. "Kenny finish this battle with your Night Shade attack!" Kenny glanced back for a second before nodding and put his hands out in front of him to prepare his attack.

"Oh no! We aren’t going down like that. If we go down we are going to take everything with us! Voltorb use your Self-Destruct!" Without even thinking the Voltorb started to glow beams of light coming from it. Everyone in the room started to back away not wanting to get caught in the explosion.

The explosion never happened though. Just at it was reaching its peak and was about to explode a clicking sound was heard. Glancing around trying to locate the sound but not finding anything. Finally Dante's eyes stopped on the body of the Poliwhirl and grinned. "Looks like your Self-destruct isn't going to happen. Kenny feel free to attack." Grinning under the skull mask Kenny let loose his Night Shade attack. The purple ghost energy surrounded the Voltorb for a second before engulfing it. When the purple energy dissipated the Voltorb could be seen inside with swirlies in its eyes, it had clearly passed out. "Well it appears that this battle is over. Now to make sure that you don’t do anything like this again I am afraid you dong get to keep your stuff. If you want to live I suggest you leave now." He paused. The two trainers both looked at each other before recalling there pokemon and dashing out. "Now Apollo use your Flamethrower on this room. Make sure you destroy everything." That being said both Dante and Kenny left the small room and headed over to the ladder. Apollo seeing that his trainer was gone for the moment opened up his mouth and started covering the room in black and white flames. That done Apollo ran to catch up with Kenny and Dante.

As things caught on fire actual explosions started happening and soon the black and white flames were overcome by the normal red and yellow ones.

Outside Kenny, Apollo and Dante watched the small building burn down. However when a small crowd started forming they decided it was best to leave. "I don't feel much likes sleeping anymore. Lets head over to the Power Plant and see if a certain legendary bird of electricity is there." Was all he said as they headed over to the pokemon center.

"Just a minute .... there! Be right with you!" came the voice of an older man. It caried from the left and soon enough a grey haired man in a white lab coat came walking briskly into view. He had a warm and kindly face that was smiling hapily, laugh lines crinkling the corners of his eyes. "Ah, a young trainer, if I'm not mistaken ... how can I help you, I'm Professor Oak." he held out a hand to shake then noticed Akanes full arms and continued, "lets have a look at that little Cleffa of yours."

"Thankyou Professor, she took something of a beating earlier and I've been worried about her sooo much. Oh, I'm Akane" She shifted Twinkers carefully into one arm and proffered her now free hand to Professor Oak. "Is she going to die?" the young girl asked, worry painted on her face.

Kingdra attempted to move towards Krystal, but only got a few feet before the paralysis kicked in. After attempting several more times but failing, the Pokemon grew frustrated. After backing up a little, an idea struck him-- he didn't necessarily need to move to perform his attacks. He reared his head back before lunging it forward a moment or two later. He powerfully shot another Ice Beam at his opponent.

...And another one after that. And another. And at least a dozen more, in all directions. If Krystal were to dodge one of the beams, she would inevitably be struck by others.

She let out a gasp of shock as the beams grew closer to her. Crap, I wasn't expecting anything like this! she thought in a horrible panic. There's no way that I can get out of this... Unless-- that's it! The sinewy dragon breathed in very deeply as the Ice Beams grew dangerously closer at a nearly blinding speed.

When they were in range, Krystal loosed a wide Flamethrower. The flames engulfed the pathetic Ice Beams, reducing them to water, and then, steam.

She saw a very irritated Kingdra when the Ice Beams were eliminated.

Even though it was very late at night the Pokemon Center was always open. Going up to the counter, Apollo and Kenny following him, he saw that Nurse Joy wasn’t on duty. "Hello I left four pokemon here for a checkup a while ago but there has been a change of plans." He explained to the bored looking lady.

The woman glanced up at him for a second before pushing herself up off of the desk. "You wouldn't happen to be Dante would you?"

"Umm yes?" He asked a bit surprised that she knew him.

"Yeah, before Nurse Joy left she finished there check up. They are in the back room. Your Meowth is sleeping outside of his pokeball though." The lady gave him a strange look at that. "You can go get them." She said motioning to a door behind her.

"Umm great. Could you heal Apollo and Kenny while I do that?" He asked a bit surprised at the girls responses to him. Not waiting for an answer he stole into the back room. It wasn't to difficult to find his pokemon, what with Meowth curled up and his four pokeballs nearby. Placing a hand over Meowth's mouth so he wouldn't be loud when he woke up. "Meowth, time to get up, there has been a change of plans and were leaving right now."

It turned out to be a good thing he covered the cats mouth. After waking up all the way though the cat bit his hand causing him to withdraw it quickly. Sitting up the cat yawned as Dante shook his hand to get rid of the stinging. "Why are we leaving at-" He glanced over at the clock. " 3:30 am? The hell!?" Was all Meowth said glaring at Dante.

Gathering the rest of the pokeballs and sticking them in his bag Dante just rolled his eyes at the cat. "Were leaving because I don’t feel like sleeping anymore now come on."

"What! Hey what about breakfast!" The cat said angrily as he pushed himself off of the table he was on and followed Dante out of the room.

"Not hungry."

"Not hungry... You may not be hungry but I am!" The loudmouth cat grumbled.

Seeing that Apollo and Kenny were fully healed Dante went over to Apollo and placed a hand on his nose. "Thanks for healing them."

"Whatever." Was all the nightshift redhead said as she leaned against the counter looking bored out of her mind.

Shaking his head Dante, Kenny, Meowth and Apollo left the pokemon center.

Once out in the cool air Dante tossed out all of his pokeballs revealing his whole team. Shiva as cheerful as ever, and wanting to spend some more time with her trainer, she hadn't gotten to do that so much lately rolled over to him and nuzzled at his pant leg some. Looking down at the seal pokemon Dante smiled softly at her. "Hey girl, I know I haven't seen you much lately. I but this is important. Can all of you go stand together for a moment?" He asked as nicely as he could. Shiva just nodded and rolled back over to where the others were. "Ok, what I am about to tell you all is very important. As you may know or not I am interested in becoming the Legendary Pokemon Professor. However this is a very dangerous job. You all saw what happened when I inadvertently ran into Ho-oh." He paused slightly looking at all of his pokemon. "Now I am pretty sure I know where the Legendary Pokemon Zapdos is, and I am going to go see if I can find him. I just want you to know the risk involved in this. If you come with me there is a chance you could get seriously injured and there is a possibility of dieing." Pausing again to let that sink in Dante looked at all of his pokemon who seemed to be thinking it over. "I wont force you to come with me. If you do wish to come with me then please come over to my side. It is all right if you do not want to, I will not be mad in the slightest and I will simply put you into my PC for the time being." That being said Dante stayed quiet to allow his pokemon to pick.

The moment he had finished talking Apollo, his first pokemon to travel with him didn't even wait and trotted over to his side. Surprisingly right behind her was Kenny who adopted his usual place hanging over his shoulder. Apollo nudged him somewhat before turning his larger body around and facing the others his flaming tail flicking.

The small dragon fly pokemon didn't really know what was just said, and probably didn't really care. She just liked traveling with her trainer and not long after the other two went over she flew over and latched herself onto his arm happily. At this Dante breathed a sigh of relief, he really would need his ground type pokemon incase Zapdos got a bit angry.

The three pokemon on the other side now was Meowth, Shiva, and Levi. Shiva seemed to be mulling it over before finally she rolled herself slowly over to Dante's side. Levi just didn't really understand the whole thing, looking over at Meowth unsure of what was going on she looked between him and her trainer for the time. After a moment more of thought she ran over to his side.

Looking back at the others Meowth only gave them a strange look. "What I said I was going earlier. But remember our deal, if you get hurt then I am leaving when we get out of there." Meowth said crossing his arms over his chest.

Dante only smiled at the cat. "I know Meowth." Was all he said to the cat. Giving each of his pokemon a great full smile he couldn't believe that all of them had chosen to go with him. "Thank you. We will probably make it there later today. I want all of you to rest up inside of your pokeballs because I may need you later on." That being said he put them all back inside of there pokeballs except for Meowth and Apollo.

Both Pokemon continued to have at eachother for several minutes longer. No progress had been made, nor had either Pokemon been injured any more than they already had been. Krystal knew that Kingdra was still hurting from the Thunder Wave attack --which shouldn't have even damaged him to begin with-- but everytime she tried to attack him since then, he was always able to find a way to avoid being harmed, without moving; the paralysis didn't seem to be that much of a detriment to his abilities.

It was then, however, that she got another idea.

Krystal whipped up another Twister --this one seemed to be massively larger than the previous one she used-- and sent it towards her opponent. Just like clockwork, she watched Kingdra perform a Dive attack, and avoid the Twister; the attack, however, continued off along its designated path. Krystal flew over to the water which Kingdra was hiding in, and this time blasted the water with a powerful Thunderbolt. Reeling several feet backward, she saw her opponent quickly resurface, wailing in pain.

This time when he surfaced, Krystal rocketed toward him and twirled most of her body around his, embracing him in an excruciatingly tight Wrap attack. Kingdra was bound so well that he was physically unable to move, yet Krystal was still granted mobility. Eyeing the Twister that was still whirling around, she flew towards it, taking off into the air high enough above it so that she wouldn't get sucked into it.

Then, she released Kingdra, dropping him.
