Valerian really disliked having to hold onto Dahlia's hand the entire time they were at the festival, but he also didn't like getting on her bad side, either. Dahlia could be really super nice to you when she wanted to, but when she meant business, you'd better stop whatever you're doing and listen. He admired her and feared her for being so strict, honestly, it was a weird feeling he couldn't quite explain. Were all big sisters protective and no-nonsense like Dahlia, or was he just lucky? He shrugged.
"Oh, oh! Plushies, Dahlia, plushies!" He shouted, pointing and waving. "Can you get me the blue Kidden please, with the blue bracelet, please? I'll wait right here, I promise!"
Dahlia held tight to her brother's hand as if it were her sworn duty, and in a way, it was. Her daddy, Sascha, had asked her to keep an eye on Valerian while he rested at home, and she wasn't a little girl who went back on her promises. She was supposed to make sure he didn't eat all the candy he wanted, pull any naughty pranks, or get into a fight with a bigger kid over a prize. That's what daddy wanted her to do, and she'd do it to the best of her ability. If only Valerian had gotten the memo and stayed put when she asked him to!
"... You promise, huh?" She asked, giving Valerian a squint. "Okay, but if you run off before I get back, I'm going to tell daddy about when you put bubble gum in that boy's notebook. And don't deny it, either! I saw you do it!"
She turned, huffed, and rushed off to grab the things that Valerian wanted, as well as some candy canes for herself. When she returned, she was happy to find her little brother still waiting for her. Hmm... Maybe blackmail was the way to go with Valerian? It seemed a little wrong to do, but if it kept him within her sight, it was worth it!

Ryker had a huge grin pasted on his face as he made it to the party, rockstar late as was his usual. There was still plenty of fun to be had, he was so sure. He grabbed a stocking to put his party swag in and half danced his way around, listening to the music in his head as he hummed. Some of the games looked like they'd be a lot of fun. Mmm and the treats all looked delicious, too. Oh hey look at those! He laughed and yanked a bright blue boa around his neck. Oh yeah, he was totally hot like this. He grinned and paid for his new accessory that totally didn't match his outfit at all.
While he was scanning the room for something fun to do, he heard a voice coming from behind him. Ryker froze. In his hair? No way!! "What's in my hair?" he said, reaching up to see with his clawed hands. He didn't want to hurt whatever little bugger was back there though so all he really did was make himself look silly with his arms in the air. "Mind getting it out for me?" he asked the owner of the voice behind him.

The pink geist chewed her lip as she looked around for Cyril still. So distracted in her search, she nearly ran into a table! "Oops! Sorry!" she said and paused. Ohh, there was jewelry on this table. She got herself a green bracelet and smiled happily. "Thanks!"

Drayden laughed as he played some of the games, losing a lot of them, but it was still fun. With hands in his pockets, he roamed the party looking at all of the games and booths. Something at a jewelry booth caught his eye, and he stopped, smiling at a holiday colored bracelet. It was a little small for his wrist, but perhaps his mother would like it. He should find something for his dad and then he could send them both off in the next week or so.

Zeta was still a little grumpy...grumpy enough that she wasn't sure she wanted to stay here any longer. Something colorful distracted her from her grumpiness however and she was drawn to a table of jewelry. There was a fey male next to her, but as long as he kept his wings to himself, they wouldn't have any issues. She peered down at the bracelet that caught her eye. It was bright, and colorful. Bold colors that reminded her of her little sister. Zeta missed her sister... She bit her lip and bought the bracelet, slipping it on her wrist and covering it with her sweater. It wasn't her kind of thing; the pale elf preferred dark colors, and greys. But this... She needed something that reminded her that maybe life wasn't all about studying. Maybe.
Whatever. Now she had a bracelet that reminded her of her sister.
Arya played a game at a booth and ended up winning another familiar. Since he already had two he looked around and when he spotted a rather pink demon freshling he ran over to her and gave it to her before running back to Piper.

Nikora grinned brightly at the thought of birdy babies, maybe the babies wouldn't be so bitey! She then started to flail a bit when the buzzing familiar tried to cling to her but thankfully Malachi picked it up before anyone could get hurt. "Guess you have another new friend then Chi!" She said when she was sure the familiar was no longer buzzing around.
Not long after she picked up a snow globe, a chimera freshling ran over to her and basically dropped a familiar of her own in her arms. "Oh! She's so cute~" She cuddled the little Salamander.

She felt a little squeamish, watching Lilan pet his new friend. She couldn't help but focus on its beady eyes... And when she had hoped he'd put it down, he instead proudly annouced that he'd keep it? Estys laughed nervously. "That's very sweet of you to offer, but I think I'll pass... Not a fan of rodents," she said, slowly placing her own candy cane in her mouth to suck on. She hoped declining wouldn't offend him; seeing how he acted, she was unsure if the freshling was familiar with others not going along with him all the time.

Isabelle’s second trip to the hot chocolate stand got her an actual mug filled with more hot chocolate. The mug was doing a wonderful job warming her hands and the drink was really good. It was a lot better than she had expected it to be for a school run festival. Threading her way through the festivities with her new skyfish in tow, the nixie looked around. It looked like quite a few daydreams had joined in since the festival had begun. Now hopefully there was one who was free to chat with her.
Thinking to herself, Isabelle absently took a plush from one of the attendants who were giving them out, barely glancing at it before she tucked it into her stocking with the rest.

The mint offering succeeded in calming the beast, for about two seconds. Then suddenly there was a second screech and another cockatriel, this time blue and purple, launched itself at him. The two familiars fought over Cyril using the poor geist as their battleground. With wide eyes he watched as they showed down. A librarian tried to help by offering him a book to scare them away with. While he took the book, he decided against trying to get them off with it. With his luck, he’d end up hitting one and hurting it or they would both turn on him and fight him more.

Winning the giant blue and white fennekit plush had not been his intention. Vüsala had been leaning against a pole, minding his own business, when a large chimera and Baphomet hybrid had snagged him and pulled him into a game of ring the bell. Startled, and more than a little irritated, he’d swung and ended up winning the largest plush they had. He’d had to think of the shrinking spells he knew so he could get it to fit in his stocking. He wasn’t in any mood to lug the thing around.
With an aggravated sigh, the chimera fought his way through the crowd to a stand that was giving out hot chocolate and coffee. As soon as he had his new blue mug full of caffeine and the warm smell of coffee in his nose, he calmed considerably. Much of his new, calmer, attitude resulted from spotting Kanda chatting amicably with another nightmare. With a smile, he went to join the two.

The game keeper seemed pretty interested in her new friend, so she was calmly explaining about a flitterrat when the guy looked up to greet someone. Halfway through turning around, Kanda noticed it was her dad that was approaching. Sucking in a breath, she quickly tucked Flitter into a pocket with some candy to keep her quiet before the chimera could see her.
The bright grin she gave him was genuine though, and the game attendant who she had been speaking with waved her off. There was no sign of Wyrrda though. Kanda felt a bit sad about losing her new friend, but she could find her later right?

A basket went by as Ares took a short break, filled with glowing necklaces. With a grin, he nabbed one of the orange ones and draped it around his neck. Now the tinsel-looking boa would reflect the glow to make it brighter. The next round of plushies was passed out and Ares got one of the sealpup ones. There weren’t many of these, at least, not compared to the rest of them. Taking careful aim, he launched it towards a semi-familiar looking litch.
Right as it nailed him in the face, Ares remembered that oh snap, that’s a teacher. Whirling around, hopefully before they noticed him, and passed his cannon to someone else. Now was a good time to take a break, right?

The Baphomet eagerly made her way down to the festival. Jeanine knew she was late, and was hurrying to try and make up for it. The sound of Jeanine's hooves against the pavement went a ways to help her feel like she was getting farther than she actually was. For once she wasn’t covered in bits of clay or glaze, and her apron had been left at home.
Sliding in line behind a couple of the other stragglers, Jeanine picked up one of the black and white stockings before promptly trotting over to one of the stalls that was giving out hot chocolate. That was one of her favorite parts of festivals held out in winter. Hot drinks in the chill air, games to play, prizes to win, she loved this time of year.
"Didn't Alis get some of these earlier?" Miah muttered to no one in particular as she picked up one of the many buckets of false-snowballs, a smile curling on her lips. "These are enchanted, aren't they?" she asked with a grin, giggling softly afterwards as she lifted up a bucket. "I'd love to take one of these to study it! I was never as good at enchanting as the rest of my family, but I'd love to study it more," she explained, earning herself a smile from the imp behind the counter.
"Go ahead, take it," they said, bringing a wide grin to the girl's lips.
Alis seemed perfectly content, sitting off to the side, minding their own business as they sorted through their various goodies. They almost didn't notice the young fey that came frolicking passed, dressing various nightmares and daydreams alike in the rather obnoxious tinsel boas.
Even the baphomet didn't seem to escape the young fey, who pranced right over, tossing one of the darker boas around their neck with a giggle.
Happy Solstice! they called as they skipped off, leaving the Baphomet there blinking.
It almost seemed as if things were gradually beginning to wind down--at least, Aaminah partially hoped they were. While she had been thoroughly enjoying the festivities thus far, even in her lonesome, she had to admit that carrying all of her new toys and trinkets and empty mugs was beginning to grow somewhat old for the demoness.
Despite that, instead of simply leaving, she found herself pushing on, eventually finding herself in the possession of a... particularly oversized lollipop that threatened many, many a time to get stuck in her braid. How she managed to keep it out, she wasn't entirely sure.
At that moment, another large mug of hot cocoa began to sound incredibly good. Perhaps it was all the walking around, or maybe it was just because of everything she'd heard about the peppermint hot cocoa from some of the passing juniors, but regardless of the reasons, Braelyn found herself slowly working her way through the academy, back to the front where she'd first found the booth with all of the drinks.
The moment she had one of the adorably festive mugs, filled to the brim with the peppermint hot cocoa, she simply smiled, letting out a quiet sigh as she found herself another place to sit, allowing her young Fennekin companion to hop up on her lap and occasionally sniff her drink curiously.
Edel tilted her head curiously at the next booth, which featured a random variety of prizes and freebies; sections sporting jewelry, candy, and books and what-not. ”Feel free to pick whatever piques your interest” said the booth’s owner. Edel immediately went to the small collection of books. Skimming through the multiple book bridges, glancing at titles, she finally picked out a mystery book. The character looked familiar. She recalled her mother mentioning a mystery series that she liked when she was younger, perhaps this was it? ”Be sure to skim through the pages for a possible surprise!” the booth owner continued. So as she was told, Edel skimmed through the book’s pages, stopping as she found a bookmark which read ‘one plushie’. What a find! The booth’s owner looked beneath a table and randomly drew out a pair of jackalope plushies for her to pick from. How cute! Naturally she was drawn to the pale white one with red antlers.
Rhiannon split off to the opposite end of the table as Edel, who was looking through the books. For Rhiannon, she was immediately interested in catching herself another sweet treat! Candycanes, lollipops, and candy floss, all were tempting… until she saw a decent-sized bag of peppermint bark! Gladly picking up the bag, she was about to open it for a taste when the booth owner pointed out the bottom of the bag. Looking beneath it, Rhian saw a sticker, with what appeared to be a fox’s head on it. ”Ooh, you get a plushie too! The owner declared. Diving back under the table once more, he came back up with a few fox plushies to pick from, of which Rhian recognized the black and white one that Edel picked. For her choice though, Rhiannon gladly picked the blue and white snowflake fox. ”Thank you!
The two little freshling, having thanked the owner and left, tried to balance the multitude of prizes they received, most crammed in their stockings, some which they wore. They struggled to keep a free hand open for their mug of hot chocolate, which by now had cooled down enough to be drinkable, but still manage to warm them up with each sip. ”Thanks for walking the festival with me”, said Edel sheepishly. ”No problem, it wound up being pretty fun!” replied Rhiannon with a smile. After the whole collision at the beginning of her visit, she didn’t figure that the night would turn out so pleasant, or Edel’s company. She was certainly glad that she gave Edel a chance though. Finally, having gotten a handle of their prizes, the two proceeded to explore the grounds some more, although probably not for too long, as it was close to bedtime for such young ones.
Malachi giggled and smiled to Nikora as he made sure to keep gently petting the little fuzzbug. "They won't really hurt you. They spray something out when they are startled, but really they are just really calm and sweet... Well that's what I read in class, anyways." And when Nikora ended up with a randomly given familiar, he grinned happily. "Oooo! Salamanders are so cute!I think you'll like that familiar~" there was another chance to get just one more plant.... so he took it! Their room was going to start becoming something of a jungle soon if he kept this up.
Hailey gave a big ol grin as she got another bitey bird. "Your name is gonna be Breakfast! You and Dinner can have babies together, too!" When she noticed the cute little salamander in Nikora's arms, she looked at it with great interest. "So cool, Niko!" Grabbing up a book, she stashed it away. "Hey... you guys think that crystal tag is starting soon?" And once again, Malachi's mom snitched up her familiar to take back to their room. She puffed for a moment, wanting more time with her new pet, but that was okay! Freed her up for crystal tag!
And when Hailey was distracted, Malachi grabbed up and hid away a cute little plushie. He had plans for it and she couldn't know! "We should probably get to the gym just in case~"

Dodger gave a good laugh, shaking his head. "Gly, I sure hope for your sake that my girl isn't the jealous type." he said with a snicker, as he gave her a pat on the shoulder. "Though, just for the sake of being purely honest with the forward, you're layin' it on a bit thick there. heh. You dun gotta flirt to keep my attention. You're a funny girl." he said, giving a wink. "Just for the sake of putting it out there, we're just straight up friends, right?" Dodger asked, making sure they were on the same page. He hoped he wasn't coming off as an a** or anything for asking. He was all about his girl and didn't want to give a wrong impression.
The Grimm grabbed up a cute black bracelet with snowflakes on it, tucking it away with the thought that it would be an adorable gift for Eileen. Though, when there was a plush on the other end of it, he found a kid with pink hair and set it on their head. "Happy Solstice, kid~" He smiled and turned about to get back to his new friend. When he turned back to see Gly with the antlers on, he gave a good laugh. "They seem to work with yah!" Reaching over, he flicked the antlers, making the bells jingle. "Wanna go play the milk bottle game or somethin'? I got an itch to pitch."
