CIVILIAN OVER HERE~!"Ohhhh," he whispered, hiding behind some stairs, peeling up his eyepatch to take another good look around. "I could kiss every one of these bitches in coats." He was talking into a recording device, scavenged from a failing electronics store a few hours ago. "I can't believe zombies are real, I can't believe any of this is real-- and also totally, utterly gross, bodies are gross and way better when preserved I am not used to seeing the corpses-- and oh I'm being insensitive I'm sure I'm going to burst into tears again at any moment. Yes, again. It comes and goes and comes and goes and--" A crunch from afar set him silent, putting the device away before quaking in terror. There was believing in the supernatural and being pleasantly far from it, and then there was BELIEVING in the SUPERNATURAL because it was RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE AND CADAVERS WERE REALLY WAY LESS AWFUL THAN REAL BODIES TORN INTO PIECES. LIKE, WAY BETTER. INFINITELY. Why him. Why today.Byron crouched lower, hoping he'd be outta sight and outta dead-mind of the zombie afar. byron hp 15 dice 2d4-6 appearance an alarmingly perky goth looking kid, with a fake eye patch he pops up sometimes: ref

This was the worst mission she had joined ever, even she was with Jordan and Roland. She'd tried to summon her weapon again, but the eroding pain gnawing on her back enervated her energy. Rep arrived as their saviour, the petite Death sighed in relief for his appearance and gave up her fruitless endeavor. If he was there, they would be fine even if another creature showed up. She trusted in his strength in general, "See, they come," she turned to smile at the civilians under the registers while the Sun and former Sun hunter talked. < You're like ragged blanket, mini size.> He stressed about the size, but Shu was too exhausted to fight back. Tsk, the beast shut up with his mocking. "Thank you for coming, are you hurt? You're covering in bloods" She gladly took Rep's offer and clung on like a baby sloth, but noticed the bloods on him made her worried a bit. The difference was her arms were not as long as them and the height difference made her difficult to grab on his forearm. She barely made it by grabbing his hand, just barely with her toes tipped. Drink more milk, the beast friendly advised. ------------------ The ice rink was cold and she quivered under the sheer protection. The streaks obviously left by some sorts of bloods - she only thought someone was injured and wished they were alright. Shu gulped down the whole bottle before she talked, "You're the best, Roland and you didn't hurt much from the explosion, wow you strong man." She grinned impishly, shaking her head, "I'm fine, let's check up the rest of us?" She was more concerned of the others more than herself. Hearing Rep's order was much more scary than any of the zombies they had fought. On one hand, she knew it was a must they disposed of contaminated clothes; on the other hand, she only brought what was on her. The burns on her back meant she had to take them all off, daklfjdkljljdslfj she couldn't really do it when there were a bunch of males around. Even if they didn't care, her face was blushed red. She wasn't dehydrated but she felt like fainting the next second because of overheating. She struggled, finally submitted to take off her dress and top with a curling position when Harrison washed herself clean. Even her skin tainted with rosy pink for how embarrassed it was, her toes wiggled but she didn't say anything besides buried herself like an ostrich in sand. She was for once, glad that she had such a long hair. She rinsed her hair with Harrison's help and thanks him for the healing. "Thanks....Mister." She didn't know his surname, that was the first time she met the Moon hunter related to Jordan. Her impression was he was a cool man occasionally gave useful advice to the newbies, she was grateful for his care and nodded at his words. She took good rest, but didn't release the arms she used to hug and hide herself until someone tossed her a blanket in her plight. She grabbed it tightly, wrapped around herself, as if it was her skin. < No one would be interested in a washboard, silly.> { Shut up! >///< } Quote: Shu HP: 15/50 Death Intermediate: 2d10-4 (usable 10 times) Weapon: Hammer - Melee ARMOURED/ LAUGHING: x2 damage

He'd seen horror movies before. He loved them, really. He'd never been in one before though, and he thought that was because s**t like this didn't happen in real life. That was why horror movies were supposed to be so entertaining. Because they weren't real. His eyes kept flickering from left to right, trying to keep an eye out through the glass of the Cinnabon service counter they were hiding behind. Giselle was frozen in fear, despite how many times he'd tried to convince her to just come with him to the safe place that guy on the intercom kept talking about. He wouldn't leave without her, he'd promised, but they were running out of time here, before the entire place was just nothing but zombies sniffing around for brains to eat. They'd been lucky so far. He'd heard fighting, and screams, and gurgling - that was the worst, when he heard someone gurgle. It was a sound that would haunt his nightmares, he was sure of it. Didn't matter who it was. Didn't matter what had happened. Someone had gurgled. That person was totally deceased. "I told you already." He whispered back down to the girl clutching his shirt. "We can't just hide. They're going to find us. The only reason they haven't already is probably the smell of cinnamon hiding our scent. But there's normal people out there right now. We need to go find them." He bent down and put his hands on Giselle's shoulders, holding her gently. His best friend had been shy on a good day. This, however, was crippling her. He had no idea how to convince her that they needed to move, but he kept trying nonetheless. "You trust me, don't you?" Quote: Connorhp 15 dice 2d4-6 Description: See above link

All Robert needed was that smile to make his heart skip a beat. She opened up the umbrella underneath them, and he slowly unraveled Alice from the protection of the coat and his embrace. As he did, the area around them warmed with light, and he let out a breath of laughter as the three of them stared up into the umbrella, and enjoyed the rays of Mimsy's sun. "You brought me the sun." He sighed out, his voice lazy with delight. "I guess I owe you the moon, now." It was an unexpected twist, for once. He liked when the tables turned. "At least we've got ourselves a star." His voice had exploded with joy when he picked Alice up, and held her closer to the umbrella, reveling in the sound of her childish squeal of delight. He held her there in their makeshift sky, and placed her among the stars. When she returned to earth, Robert bent down and brushed his hands against Mimsy's wet face. His fingers continued up into her hair, and ran through the wet tresses gently. Then he pulled away, just long enough to be able to wrap around her shoulder and keep her close. When he shifted, it was to turn in the direction they needed to walk - even if it was slow, and encumbered with a giant umbrella filled with sunlight. But it wasn't as slow as it had been before. Because deep down, Robert knew they were a living, moving target. Now, more than ever, he was confident about getting to the ice rink. He was not confident about what would come next.

The man with a height of 190cm was lighter than most of the westerners, thankfully, and he was out of consciousness. Ace only woke up when he was inside the ice rink, "s**t," he grumbled of the stingy headache, bleary eyes roamed around to confirm of the current situation. The man sat up and flexed his tensed up muscles as if he had a long sleep. "I'd like to just lie here and do nothing," he joked playfully but docile, taking the water over and took a gulp. "Thanks pal," he raised a hand and smile lazily. Resuming his respiration, the man had no hesitation to take off his clothes. Last check on pants and shoes gave him a delightful smirk as he managed to keep them safe from the disaster. Rinsing himself and got rid of the sticky disgusting black substances, he was half perked up with the aid of Harrison's bandages. He felt his shield was restored, not to the best state, but sensing the protection wasn't a bad feeling at all. Ace brushed his wet dripping hair backwards and lazily rest on his arms, lying on the cot he got assigned from. She nodded eagerly, Her lips tight yet quivering. "Of course. Yes. I do. Really. Really I know.. I know we.." She shook and held her breath, her eyes squeezing tightly to try and calm herself, slow down her panicking. She gulped, and breathed in the sweet scent of pastries. This safe place would not remain safe. She just truly wished it would. Nothing bad was supposed to happen in a Cinnabun. She opened her eyes back to Conner, who's gaze was mildly hard to see in the dark. "I'm sorry. I do know." Her soft, mousy voice repeated. "W-we...we need protection... uh--uhm...." She patted around on hands and knees, looking for things to use in case a zombie got too close. Damn, was this for real? Boxes... boxes.... more boxes... Suddenly she snorted, thinking of something she thought would be very very funny. Oh, maybe it would lighten the mood if she said her joke to Conner? She looked back at him, smiling awkwardly as she thought of the joke several times in her head so she could get it right. "We uh... should cover ourselves in the icing and it would be like we are invisible to the zombies... c-cause we'd... smell like... the cinnabuns..." Her enthusiasm waned the longer she went on, until she realized it had been a lot funnier in her head than aloud. She coughed into her hand and crawled back to him, blushing and wishing to dig a hole. "Nevermind let's just go.."

It was hard for any joke to work well at a time like this, but that wasn't even registering as a joke in Connor's mind, so he reached out to grab a cinnabon from the glass display and hand it over to her. He then took one for himself, and started to rub it on his neck as if it was cologne. "I just hope this doesn't lure them in faster. I mean, if you were a zombie, wouldn't you want Cinnamon Brains?" He took a bite out of the thing he'd just rubbed his face with, and then threw it to the side. She was right about protection though. He was looking as well, but the best he'd found was the grate tray that held the buns themselves, which would work as a terrible shield since it wasn't protecting much. He took it, and the spatula, to arm himself. But before he left, he cramed one more Cinnabon into his mouth. For energy. "Okay. I'll go first. Tell me when you're ready, and stick close." His spatula holding hand bent back behind him, where she was hiding. His middle and pointer finger jutted out, waiting for her to slide her own against it. Their own personal handshake. "We're going to do this, Giselle. Don't worry. We make it to the end of this movie." Quote: Connorhp 15 dice 2d4-6 Description: See above link

He... he actually did it. It was... it was a joke but... but oh God now she had to do it, or else he'd be a fool. A FOOL. Her shaky hand held a cinnabun and stuffed it in her purse. And another. And another. She cringed, and rubbed the gooey sticky snack on her neck too. Ugh, that was so gross. She licked her fingers clean, mournfully dreading the quest to come. Her heart started to beat rapidly once more, as the pressure built to leave the shop. She felt sweaty, and dizzy. She didn't want to leave. But she trusted Conner. She received the secret handshake, holding the curling of their fingers a few seconds too long. "Okaaay..." She groaned with a whine, peeking outside with him. "It's so dark.." And the sprinklers were drenching them. "Th-that man on the speakers sounded weird. Like who is that happy during an emergency?" She babbled, taking teeny tiny inching steps, clinging to Conner's back. Oh, wait. She could be helpful! "Oh! Uhm... Conner... I have my iPad with me.. we can use the light app on it.... u-unless that would attract more zombies... but it'd be faster if we could see---" She shrieked, accidentally slipping on... oh God she hoped that was garbage and not something that used to be human.

The laughter Robert met her with allowed her tense form to soften significantly, and Mimsy offered a little giggle in response. "You have already given me the moon. Do you not remember?" The lunar meteorite was with her, always with her, but too precious to risk losing it in this place by retrieving it to show him. "You have given me all of the constellations, and you have discovered this star." She smiled again, pained around the edges, as she watched him lift Alice playfully up into the air. Exhibiting once again that he could maintain the balance they all needed, he smoothed the hurt away from her lips with his gentle fingers, then pulled her right back into the comfort of inclusion against him. "You gave me any light that I have," she quietly reminded him, cheeks flush with color that the light uncovered, suddenly very aware that she was saying all of this in the presence of a child. "So I simply share it when you need it again." As she followed each step of his lead, she braved the 'New Message' indicator on her phone that she'd been anxiously ignoring. There was more promise in the message's content than she anticipated seeing, and the familiarity of the language was an admitted relief. She tilted the screen towards Robert to allow him to read it if he wanted to, hoping that it might provide him with a greater context when they arrived at an inevitable decision in the near future. When she was sure he had enough time to read it, she leaned her head against Alice and wrote a response as they walked. Baneful To: Rep Understood. Is proof that the antivirus has been administered to the child sufficient within the parameters of your instructions? Then another, more reluctantly: Quote: To: Rep It is not my intent to prohibit adequate fulfillment of what you have been tasked to do. Only to survive. To survive I require both halves of me to be intact and present upon return. Please advise if there is a directive suiting your orders and my survival.

ANNOUNCEMENT
"Evening Shoppers!"
"Well done scaring that big beastie away from the camp, I am so proud of all of you, what a great job you've all been doing so far! I could just give you all a great big hug, though I see some of you have that covered already, looking at you Cami and Maebe. Also like, I can't decide if Otto's in more danger from the infected or his buddy Sasha there ha ha ha ha. Al you should probably get to some sort of group soon if you value your life, wandering alone is kind of silly you know!"
"Anyway, the monster will probably be back, it isn't dead! Hope you are all enjoying the lovely shower by the way, I'd say the wet look has improved many people one hundred percent! The good news is the sprinklers seem to be doing the job, you feel those rumblings? It's moving ha ha ha ha"
The closing jingle kicked in.
Jordan, Ace and Shu - You feel a little more paranoid than usual and out of sorts, it could just be from losing your shield, but it also might not be. Movements seem more interesting and there is a slow loss of reasonable thoughts, people around you seem perhaps a little more hostile than you'd considered them, their intentions shadowy and questionable.
Anyone with marks from previous zombie missions- Maybe it's the skunky sprinkler water, but you feel kind of itchy.

The creature was faster than he expected and came back again. The light not so much a hindrance to the creature as it may have been initially from sheer surprise. It lashed out at him - but he lashed right back as he finally made it through the doorway.
He looked up at the unseen PA speakers with a scowl, "I knowww." Clearly he didn't know.

Were the sprinklers on? Milo straightened up, his eyes glancing upward as he felt the sudden droplets hitting his shoulders and head. Awesome.
Now taking his steps carefully with the wet ground, the Sun surged forward once with his weapon in a rotation, gaining momentum in its strike. He felt his feet slide a little even with the traction of his shoes and in turn, didn't feel the blade dig as deep as it should have been able to (it was still dark, he didn't have his flashlight, it was hard to tell).
Milo made a small grumbling noise. This guy was just not going down. Al made it through the doorway and turned to move in the direction of the campsite. As the creature got close enough to strike again, he turned to smack it back off of himself with Nuru.
Nuru growled very deep and possessively through his thoughts. His shield had to be about to break and for a while now, Nuru had been insisting on licking his wounds. Soon Nuru, soon.

Brains. Brains and gore everywhere. The damned thing hand lurched right at him, digging its filthy claws into him one last time, leaving a ghastly trail of blood that wasn't Lex's own along the man's forearm. It was reactionary, not planned, not thought out - a round of energy sank right into and through the skull of the infected, fluids and grey matter flying into every corner and cranny of the shelving around them.
Sorry you had to see that, kids.
"Sounds like he really has converted to Death." Lex sneered, wiping his forehead with his forearm and his lips with his other hand. He mimicked Horace in wrapping his scarf around his mouth, a much better plan than risking swallowing more opaque liquids.
"Let's get the hell out of here."
