@ A-Team:
There would be more murmurs from the crowd. Aelgeirr, you didn't feel like you did anything to greatly influence the situation. "Uh... if you aren't that certain, I don't think we will give you guards to help you watch the orb, just in case you're wrong. Maybe if you weren't volunteering to watch it yourself..."
Ambra gave her short speech then. There would be a few moments of silence, before someone would let out a cheer. Some claps started, and it would turn into a full applauds by the crowd, coupled with more cheers and d4 whistles. In response, some other people began to open doors and peek outside to see what was going on.
"Okay, everyone, quiet. Quiet," the mayor would say, gesturing with her hands while facing the crowd to calm themselves, and they would quiet. "She is right, everyone should still turn in like normal. One early night won't hurt anyone, especially if she is correct about the Orb. Please, let us all return to our homes, and rest soundly this evening." The crowd would talk amongst themselves for a few seconds, before dispersing, like Ambra desired. Your passive insights aren't high enough to get an accurate appraisal of the mob's mentality before they were gone.
"If the Orb is back, and what you say is true," Liartes would start as she approached the two of you, "Then we are indebted to you for saving our town. If we are spared from assault tonight, then come see me in the morning. I fully intend to honor our agreement to the best of my ability. Friend Eladrin, thank you for volunteering to guard the orb for us this night; everyone is tried and exhausted, so the opportunity to rest instead will undoubtedly be appreciated." She would smile, very sincerely to you, despite the tiredness in her eyes. "Thank you both, and any allies of yours who aren't present, for saving my town."
And Liartes would leave.
Aelgeirr is already initiating his plans for the night. Ambra, what do you want to do before I fast forward to the morning? This question applies to Mercy and Thork as well.

(At this point, I think it's safe to say we're moving on without Paidi or SCN...)
Aelgeirr and Ambra would settle in to their respective locations: The latter into her cozy bed, the former onto the ground in a relatively small chamber for his build, a mystical artifact hovering over him silently while he tranced.
No attack would occur this night.
--------------------
The next morning...
Aelgeirr and Ambra would find their way to Liartes's office at some point, the three of you alone. Liartes would be behind her mahogany desk, fingers interlaced before her as her elbows rested on the surface.
"Once again, thank you for everything you've done for Clearwell. Your actions have saved many lives, while risking your own in the process. We are all indebted to you."
Liartes would still seem tired, but she seemed a bit more at peace today than she did 24 hours prior when you were in this office. "As I promised you yesterday, I will reward you for your heroic deeds. But before that, I'd like to debrief you first on the events that transpired, so we can take the appropriate measures to make sure something like this does not happen again."
All active players are now tasked with explaining the sequence of events of this story to the mayor. As a hint, there are five major plot points. Your reward will be 500 gold pieces each if you do not get any, but if you can recap any, you will gain 100 more gold pieces each; if you can recap them all, there will be an additional reward!
This is a group effort, not an individual one, so feel free to utilize one another to help figure out any areas which you aren't certain about. Liartes may prompt you for clarification on some matters if you have a partial answer.

(Sorry, I've been so busy I've barely kept up with my own game I'm running, let alone this one. I missed the last few posts.)
Ambra, who seemed a little subdued for a while now, finally responds to Aelgeirr. She looks at him with a weary gaze, as if it will take more than one night's rest to recover from this incident. "Thank you for your offer, but I have to return to the mage academy. My parents are spending good money to send me there and I don't want to disappoint them, though... though I don't know if I want to be a wizard any more."
Ambra would look down at the ground. "Burning people alive with my magic. It was only through my rage at what they did to the townsfolk that I was able to do it. I don't ever want to feel that anger again... or hold someone dying in my arms, unable to help them." Ambra then suddenly looks up a glimmer of hope in her eyes. "I... I think I will take up studying how to heal people with the arcane. Unorthodox I know, but with that, I think I could be happy again."

As the A-Team split to go their separate ways, they would still be in earshot of two villagers talking, a human and a dwarf.
"Thank the gods that this crisis is over. We can finally go back to resting easy again," the human would say to his shorter walking companion.
"Aye, we be safe, but not everyone's so lucky. Me cousin, over in Coppersledge, he be writing to me, telling me how his clan has been in a spot o' trouble for some time now. He be telling me that the very mountain itself has turned against them. Things aren't looking too good for 'em," the dwarf would respond as they continued on their walk, unknowing of the adventurers within earshot.
