Dagoth put the phone down the in libary, he had been studying in their as he couldn't sleep still. His mouth was slightly open and the colour had completely drained from his face, how on earth she knew where he was and that he would answer was terrifying. Pushing himself away from the table, he quickly closed and piled up the books he had gathered. The books were titles on forging, different styles of armour/weapons and arcane weaving into items. They had been well read by the pirate, his note book was quickly closed and put into his back pocket. He moved to the kitchen giving some of the girls and large grin, he had managed to get a titter out of them but nothing more. It was for him a fun game to play, just to see how long they remained professional.

He could hear the increasingly beloved cook about to scold him for trying it again with her girls, Dagoth turned bowed deeply towards her and gave her the same but slightly more boyish grin. She groaned loudly and pointed to a isolated fridge, the hint was enough for him to quickly gather what Roan had asked for. Whilst the blood was warming through Dagoth went and collected the smokes, he had over the years smoked on and off and could clearly see that these were not cheap. When he returned to the kitchen cook had moved the blood a suitable carrying container, she was rewarded with a kiss on the hand and cuffed Dagoth in return. The pirate moved up stairs to the Roan was in, his hand moved for the handle and then he thought better of it. Giving the door two sharp knocks, Dagoth would wait to be told to enter before doing so. Once inside he would hold out the blood and smokes for Roan.

"You rang?"

"Murg."

A very eloquent response as she raised her head from the desk after admitting him, and took the proferred items.
She was dressed in casual pants, a baggy red shirt not even tucked in, and had hidden her bedhead under a hat that had eyes on it. Her feet appeared to be inside a pair of fluffy penguins. A single look from a bloodshot red eye DARED him to comment as she gulped down the first half of the cup, then sipped at the rest as she lit up and sprawled back, some fo the pain ebbing away with this ritual seen to.

"How are you feeling?"

"Alert"

Dagoth looked at Roan and had to suppress the most child like of giggling fits, he couldn't help it the woman had always worn kit that matched her attitude. Now to see her in nothing but PJ's and slippers was bloody hilarious to him, Dagoth himself wore 3/4 length shorts with a plain black t-shirt that was 3 sizes to big for his lithe frame. His response to Roan was direct but truthful, he felt alert, centred and far more calm than before.

"It's different, its not like a drug. There is strength but no high, did you do something?"
PostPosted: Wed Aug 08, 2012 1:08 pm

"It's what I'm not doing. I can sense you like.. like a blip on GPS. I know vaguely where you are. If I concentrated, I could whisper behind your eyes at you, and discreetly push ideas on you, not least of which, with concentration, would be stimulating all of your pleasure centres the same way a drug does, with the same effect.

I have no desire to do so, and I have a splitting headache to boot. Plus, I didn't spend literally WEEKS focusing your anger into a tool for you to still be easily mentally manipulated. I dragged up your past and made you angry specifically against it, to he point you;d resist any attempt to mentally manipulate you ANYWAY."

She didn't add that any attempt to stop her would likely still have been useless, but that wasn't the point.
Cradling the hot cup, her sleeves rolled back enough to show her hands and arms were bandaged underneath, but this didn't seem to bother her as she drank, and sighed, the headache easing a little.

"Talk to me about fire. Your fire. I want that harnessed and controlled. We cant spend the back end of forever with at least one of us constantly holding third degree burns."

"My fire didn't do that. Its never left a lingering burn, you'd heal through it. So is that a backlash for over coming what took Corbin."

Dagoth couldn't fully remember everything that had happened in the fight, other than THAT image of Roan as well as the sensation of another force something far beyond simple magic. It had felt old and had tasted incredibly powerful, that for the pirate was far more interesting after all it had lured Corbin in so quickly. He tried to avoid her gaze after he spoke straight after her, the resistance was futile but he couldn't help himself.

"I don't understand what you mean...."
PostPosted: Wed Aug 08, 2012 1:23 pm

"No your fire didn't. But it did burn white hot at a whim, it's charred you to your core before, and it HAS hurt me before now.

So tell me about it. And don't try and beat around the bush. You lie extremely poorly and I've already warned you I have a headache today."

Her tone made it clear that while he wasn't to blame for the bandages, she wasn't going to discuss what was. No, her interest lay firmly in putting HIM on the spot.

"Atlantis was known for its water mages. Boats that flew. Great edifices. Explain to me why what I perceived I knew is wrong and tell me how your fire works. you may sit, by the way."

Dagoth took a seat not far from Roan, he felt like a child back at the palace stuck outside the madam tutor's office once again. He had always preferred the military training school, it was hard, brutal but it was honest and direct with him. He had caught what Roan meant the first time but her punt about his people was hard on him, that was something he couldn't hide when his brow furrowed.

"I told you, cursed. That dirty little secret that no one liked to speak off, the reason....."

He could feel his blood starting to boil again, that old anger and pain brought to the surface once again. The pirate tried instead to focus on why he was brought here, he had hoped she was looking to provide the debriefing or set him to cleaning the armoury. Least there he would not have to bring up such personal shame.

"You know, I'm fairly certain I told you not to beat about the bush, and I'm damn sure I didn't say stop..."

She didn't speak the words harshly, instead her tone was quite gentle, for all the words were not. She also resisted the temptation to tug at his emotions and force an answer out of him. that would negate all the hard work already done with the man, besides crossing her own moral lines.

"Tell me, Dagoth. If there's anyone who will get it and not judge, that'd be me. Curses happen, in one form or another. Anything from bad luck to the crazy s**t we know to be real. What we do about it all is what counts. Tell me about the fire."

"I'm a twin, I shouldn't have been. You know the stories the city that offended the gods, poseidon himself striking our city. Our advantage was the council of seers, the Greeks had their whore girls we had the sight.

It was a golden age, something that the world would have burned our city for. The council saw that my father our 'king' was told he would have a son, finally years of trying an heir. Yet when the birth came, there was two of us. I really don't want to talk about this you know."

Dagoth hated talking about himself, it was not something he was proud of but even sharing this little he was deflecting her real question about him. He sighed and chose to get to the point.

"When I was five our powers manifested, fire the opposite to water appalled the court. Tainted, cursed spawn of the old gods.......I don't know where my powers came from but I was never trained Roan. It was beaten out of me, buried deep inside. It only came out about a year before I left the skulls, that's why they took me."

"Ahh. Now I get it. Fair enough. I was this close to being an abomination."

She shrugged and made a pinching motion with her fingers, bringing forefinger and thumb close together, and wincing as the motion tugged at the stitches on the deep wounds across her palm.

"Alright, understanding dawns, now lets do something to make it useful, shall we? Being the lesser child is something I think the entire household will get. Tell me... getting angry make it stronger? Clearly you have SOME control, you call it forth at will, you just seem to lack finesse with the intensity."

She ruefully rubbed at her hand as she spoke, grimacing as tiny spots of red started appearing on the bandages.

"Thaaat..."

There was a long look of guilt and sadness when Roan probed him once again about his current control. He shuffled in the seat, thinking back to the wooden box he carried with him everywhere. He looked at Roan, watching her wounds carefully for a moment before continuing on.

"I met a woman and her child, she knew a great deal about my inner fire. She taught me how to tap into it. I was impatient, headstrong and I didn't want to walk. There was more fire, it keeps chasing me. Every home I've ever had burns."
PostPosted: Wed Aug 08, 2012 2:27 pm

"Good thing I'm RETARDEDLY rich then, isn't it?"

She grinned as she said it, downing the last of her vitae and contenting herself with just the rest of her smoke, dropping her hand back below the desk, so the growing blood spots weren't so obvious. Shame about the scent of vitae though. Oh well.

"I can rebuild this place if I have to, but it wont come to that because you're going to do some more learning, aren't I right? So tell me about this woman and child. And what else can be done to help. I don't like fire much."

.: There is another solution... :.
.: I'm not that desperate yet. :.
.: But HE isn't an issue, like the others. :.
.: So YOU say. No. We do this the hard way. For now. :.
.: You may not get a choice. :.
.: Shut up. You're as wounded as me, go back to sleep. :.
.: As you wish... :.

"They are dead and no I didn't kill em but I got the b*****d that did."

Dagoth grinned as he spoke the last part, he was incredibly proud of that fact but no matter how much Roan prodded he wouldn't talk about it. It was something that was too personal even for her to ask about, he wondered why she moved her hand he wasn't lusting for her blood any more.

"I don't know, what should I do. It's just a bestial part of me."
PostPosted: Wed Aug 08, 2012 2:52 pm

"Wrong!"

She over ruled his last sentence definitively, stubbing out her cigarette butt with a hard stab into an ash tray.

"First mistake, assuming you can;t control it, it can only control you. Or at least work of its own accord. It's part of you, therefore its yours to use. Even my Beast benefits me when I choose for it to do so. True, I haven't fully mastered it, and may never, but I will keep damn well trying until I either die or find Golconda.
Same for you. No more running, remember?

Training room. Lets see if you can melt one of my drones."

She'd shoo him out of the room, intending to change and meet him downstairs. When she did, it would be better dressed in her blue 'uniform', with a fresh bandage around her left hand.

He was startled by her sudden outburst, he wasn't expecting her to actually be trying to fix him sure making it so he didn't kill everyone but this. Dagoth once again felt his jaw drop from closed to slightly open, then he caught the rest of what she had said.

"Golconda?"

Dagoth nodded and rose from his seat, he would stop by his room quickly grabbing his bag and some of his worn deck shoes. He took the stairs quickly moving to the training room with some haste, he would stop just before it catching the same group of girls as before letting a long wolf whistle chase them into the house. There Dagoth would wait for Roan to join him.
