Kedrick nodded his head. "Yeah, I'll take care of it," He said with a smile. "Got nothing better to do while the muffins are toasting." Kedrick walked over to the sink, picking up the half frozen sausages and picking up four and putting them in the skitter, turning on the heat. Soon the smell of the cooking sausages filled the kitchen, the window at the other end of the kitchen was open and a warm breeze blew in carrying with it the wonderful smells from the garden outside. It made the whole kitchen, no, the whole house feel safe. It was a feeling Arielle needed right now, it was...relaxing...

Arielle smiled with a small chuckle, "I'm glad I gave you something to do then. Because watching the English muffins toast can be just about as boring as watching snails go by." She of course had this experience when she and Maria were in fourth grade. They wanted to see snails race, but realized that they were slow and that a turtle could out beat them. As she finished the eggs, she sprinkled some cheese on it and let it cool. The smell of the sausages and the feel of the breeze was wonderful. She had this relaxed smile on her face as she went to pull out some plates and glasses.

Kedrick turned sharply as the English muffins popped out of the toaster, making him jump slightly, he had been working on lift the still sizzling sausages out of the pan without burning himself on the oil that was popping and spitting. He set them quickly on the plate and retreated the muffins, laying them on the two plates that Arielle had retrieve. "There we go..." Her murmured. Kedrick walked over to the silverware drawer, it slid open on well oiled tracks. He reached down in, his finger's closing over the cold, smooth metal. He pulled out two forks and two knives, figuring that this meal didn't really call for spoons.

As Kedrick placed the muffins and sausages on the plates, Arielle brought them over to the eggs and made the sandwich from there. She was kind of wishing she had made something else along with their breakfast sandwiches, but with all that was on it, she was sure it was enough. She placed there plates on the table and walked back to the fridge, "Anything you want to drink, Kedrick?"

Kedrick sat down on the chair by the table. He thoughtfully ran his finger over the rich, red-brown wood of the table top. Kedrick knew it had been one of his grandfather's favorite items in the house, it was made for him by a friend out of some kind of expensive African wood. The whole dinning room set, the chairs and the table, where made of the same thing. He glanced up at Arielle, aware he had been spacing out. Though it had felt nice to think of something that didn't make his head hurt or his stomach churn, after all, most of the times he had been lost in though recently it had been about this afternoon. "Mhhh...I think I'd like some milk" He said with a small smile, "Don't let your breakfast get cold waiting on me." He said with a teasing grin.

Arielle giggled, opening the fridge door and pulling out the milk. She then went to the cabinet and pulled out two glasses and sat them on the counter. Opening the milk, she poured both glasses with about three quarters worth before closing the milk and putting it back in the fridge. She brought them over and sat Kedrick's in front of them and sat down, sitting hers near her plate. "Don't worry, I'll still eat it regardless," Arielle responded back with a smile before taking a bite of her breakfast sandwich. "Mmmm, this is really good. We did a great job," she said, swallowing her first bite and taking another.

Kedrick smiled, nodding his head in agreement. "Yep, we can pull around a pretty nice meal if we need to." He said, slicing off a piece of the sausage and popping it into his mouth. He glanced up at her, a smile still playing at the edges of his mouth. "You're going to make a great wife someday." He blurted, clearly without thinking. He stared at her a second, then went beet-red and looking down at his plate beginning to shovel food into his mouth. The table-top seemed terribly interesting now and he didn't look up at Arielle, keeping his eyes locked on the deep red-brown grain.

"Indeed," Arielle agreed with a cheery smile. She took another bite before reaching for her glass of milk. As she was lifting her glass to have a drink, she noticed how Kedrick was looking at her with a smile. When he said that she would make a great wife in the future, she felt her cheeks warm and a shy smile grew on her face. Taking a sip of her milk, she realized that the all so familiar awkward silence had returned. After what seemed like a lifetime, Arielle looked at the embarrassed Kedrick with a small smile. "Thank you Kedrick. And I'm sure you and the table shall make great friends in the future," she said with a giggle as she took another bite of her food.

"Uhhh..." Kedrick looked up, scrambling for something to say. The truth was, he had expected one of their usual awkward silences after a stupid, un-thought-out comment like that. He had figured it would give him time to think up something to say to her that would make up for the brashness of his previous comment. "The uh...that table? no, I mean, it's not even that....talkative..." He trailed off, realizing he was rambling something terrible. Kedrick glanced back up at her sheepishly. "I'm sorry, I guess I'm kind of rambling huh?" He asked with a small smile.

Arielle just continued giggling. This was somehow better then the awkward silences she had grown so accustomed to. She just kept smiling at him, this boy who had her heart and sadly whom she would soon have to leave thanks to Jonesy. She pushed that thought away, before it replaced the cheerful mood she was in. She only shook her head, her smile just growing warmer and sweeter by the second. "No, you're alright. Nothing to worry about Kedrick."

Kedrick looked up at her, seeing her sweet smile and suddenly feeling like he loved her more than he'd ever loved anything before. Kedrick looked at her wordlessly, basking in the glowing warmth of her smile. He would do anything for her. 'anything...' he thought to himself. 'Anything for you, and I won't let him take you away from me.' Kedrick blinked, realizing some time had gone past since her last comment. The sun drifted lazily though the window, spilling like warm water across the table top. It was far too late to recover the thread of conversation so, like an expert tailor, he picked up a new one, and continued. "So, tell me, is my lady booked though the morning or has she some of her precious time to see my dear sisters?" He asked. It was like the game they had played at Arielle's grandparents, speaking eloquently of princes, pumpkins and carriages.
Edit: I spelled princes wrong XD
((Okay...is it just me or, pretty as this is, it's written differently than I normally write? I just watched 'singing in the rain' and so am in a rather romantic mood.))

Oh the sun is finally coming out to play, Arielle thought as she finished eating her breakfast. As she was finishing her milk, she caught wind of Kedrick's voice again. Another giggled escaped her lips as she remembered the last time he spoke like that was when it was the Harvest Dance at her school, which now seemed like eons ago compared to now. She finished her milk, giving it some time to think even though her answer was obvious. With another sweet smile, she nodded as she sat her empty glass down. "Your lady is free this morning and would love to have the pleasure of meeting your wonderful sisters."

Kedrick smiled standing up, he face radiant in the mid-morning sun. "Right." He siad brightly, scooping up his dishes. During her laps of silence, he had finished off his food and now was eager to go. Not only to see his family but to help take Arielle's mind off of the dark shadow that loomed over their afternoon. He stepped quickly over to the sink, turning on the water and sticking his hand under it till it ran warm. Kedrick slid the dish under the stream of water, watching it wash clean absently before he set it on the counter over the dishwasher. "You done?" He asked gesturing to her dishes.

Arielle nodding, getting up and bringing him her dishes. She rinsed them off first and then sat them right next to Kedrick's dishes. "Yeah, all done," she responded with a smaller smile, "We honestly need to make these kind of meals more often." She continued as she opened the dishwasher and placed all of their dishes in there before closing it. "I have to thank you for that wonderful breakfast. Probably the best I've had here."

Kedrick laughed softly, rubbing the back of his neck, his cheeks flushed slightly in embarrassment. "Yeah, I guess so, We've never really had an organized breakfast before have we?" He asked, still smiling as he flexed his toes inside his socks. Kedrick looked up at the clock mounted on the wall above the stove. It was a beautiful piece of craftsmanship, with long, elegant hands and carefully mark numbers along with sun, moon and stars painted on it's face. "We'd probably get ready." He pointed out with a small smile. "We're going to head over to my house and meet up there then we'll all go to the hospital to see Athena."
