Feline wasn't quite sure what had happened. It seemed like they had all been having an interesting conversation and then the next thing she knew the High Priestess and the Overseer had run away from her. I hope it was nothing I said.It was hard sometimes being a foreigner, even worse being a different species almost. She had to always wonder if she was saying something wrong that made people see her in a negative way. She hoped to find friends among these people and to learn more of this Overseer fellow who had capitvated her. (Sings...."Nobody Likes me, Everybody Hates me, I'm going to go eat worms...." *snickers*)

Lorika, having not appreciated the effect her being near the edge of tears may have had on him, blinked and stiffened a little with shock. "Oh!"
She hurriedly ducked her head and used a part of her robe to gently pat her eyes until they were dry. Then she looked back up and, pleased to see the Overseer was still there, her face broke into a beaming smile. "There. I'm not crying anymore."
Stepping forward, she tried to look as encouraging as possible. Encouraging what she didn't know - just encouraging. She wanted the Overseer to feel safe around her. Like he didn't need to run away.
She'd contemplated trying for a hug again, but instead stopped a few paces in front of him and reached out to take his hand. Then, she drew it up to her lips and gently kissed the Overseer's pale knuckles.
"If you would like me to, my Lord... that is, if you want me," she said softly, straightening up "I will always stay by your side. But in return, I'd like you to realise that you've done nothing wrong and nobody here wants to scorn you."
She continued to smile, stroking his hand. "I need you to believe in yourself, as I believe in you."

Suddenly, the High Priestess jerked her head around. "Oh! I suddenly remembered! I still haven't finished writing the Overservice!"
She looked back at him apologetically, but tried to keep on her reassuring smile all the same. "I'm terribly sorry, my Lord. I have to go and do some work in your name," she giggled.
Once again, she kissed his hand - this time she let it drop. "I'll be in my room if you need me, okay? My room is down the stairs through that door, and then the first door straight ahead."
She allowed him a few moments to digest the directions before nodding. "It was wonderful spending time with you again, my Lord. We never used to spend time together like this before. I could get used to it... even with all the weeping and running," she laughed.
As she turned to go, she was sure to slip in a small reminder. "Don't forget to eat! You've gone long enough without food already!"
Then, with more than a few glances and smiles over her shoulder, the High Priestess left for her chambers.

Well dispite having people run from her, she still needed to make her way to the temple. She decided to give her legs a streach and enjoy a leaisurely stroll up to the temple grounds.

His reply must have been enough, because she dried her tears and giggled, and he tried to smile for her while she told him everything was alright. The Overseer nodded at the High Priestess, taking it at last as his dismissal, or at least his cue. Like it was expected, he committed to memory which room she spoke of, and thought it would be better if he refrained from speaking too much. "I will not forget. Thank you and I will speak with you again."
Stepping back, he headed back where he came, and he soon found the door that lead outside, and for the time it seemed he was talented at avoiding the other Acolytes. It was, in fact, the Overseer that found Feline again, watching her for the moment. He reached out, curious about the wings, "Are you upset?"

Feline was surprised and delighted to have run into the Overseer again. He seemed in a much better mood than he was before. "No, I'm not upset." She said, greatful for his kindness, "I just worry about offending people here." She noitced him looking and reaching out for her wings. She let him touch her wings, not sure why since it was such an intimate gesture where she came from, but she was intruigued by the curiosity in his eyes. "Bet you don't see much of these around here!" She joked hopeing that all was ok now and that he wouldn't run off again.

"No, I have never seen anything like them before." Hesitant as always, and knowing nothing of her civilization's customs, he ran his fingers lightly over the surface of her wing, astonished. Quickly he drew back, and studied her face intently, now having the time. He glanced over his shoulder, searching the outside of the temple's grounds.
"What were you saying, before, about the war?"

She enjoyed having him touch her wings. It reminded her of family and friends at home greeting her and she was happy to feel that contentment again. She hoped he could see that, she was still so new to this human interactions. "Well, maybe it's because I came here in the middle of the war and don't know why it started so I have no strong feelings either way, but I've found in my experience that no one really wins when there is war." She looked a little sad as she remebered war torn cities in her homeland for wars that had started for no better reason than a few nobles were bored. "I joined your side because you stood for light and goodness, but it is hard sometimes to see why fighting will bring more of that into the world." She paused realizing she was getting more than a little philosophical. "Well, you know, a person can't solve problems with the thinking that started them them. That's all." She laughed a little trying to lighten the mood. She cocked her head looking closer at the Overseer. "You look like you've had a rough time of it."

Evelyn
Evelyn felt someone running into her and hit the ground. This of course, scared the living daylights out of her. She thought that Lorika had finally found her and that she was going to die shortly.

His gray gaze left the captivating sight of her wings, meeting her eyes as she peered at him. His stomach felt the flutter of panic, but took a deep breath and held it until the butterflies were quelled. This was the perfect test, to see if he could go at this solo, to truly be the Overseer.
Racking his mind and memory, he started how he recalled everything now, thinking about the young boy, about the clam and the story Kyo had given him - and the utter trust and adoration. Lifting his head, he said, "Yes, I have been stripped of my power. I have only been back within the Order for a day now, and I would like to know what you think could have been a better alternative to the war."

Feline couldn't belive how personable the Overseer was! He had seemed so distant and domineering during the war, but maybe being stripped of power could do that. It did to me! She laughed in her head, I guess I'm in a similar position having lost my powers and being humbled here. Not to the extent that a Demigod would though."Well, people always laugh at me when I say this, but couldn't you and the Sentinal have tried to sit down and talk things over?" She paused and thought this over once again and sighed, "Well, I guess it doesn't help when one side won't talk, but in a perfect world..." She trailed off realizing she was talking about a dreamland that may never come to pass. "What are your thoughts on the war. I still know so little about why this came to such a huge battle." she asked realizing that she was talking to one source of this whole commotion.

Grasping for words, he licked his dry lips, and it did strike him as remarkably funny to think of the Sentinel even agreeing to sit down in the same mile of him. But it was also surreal, to think of how things could have been, in the perfect world Feline spoke of. That was what turned his stomach again, a forlorn emptiness, and he looked up at the temple there shining in the sunlight.
Answering Feline's question seemed too easy. "As it was before the end, the Sentinel returned mad with power and she would not rest until all of Gaia was thrown into anarchy." He paused and invited Feline to walk a few paces away to get out of the sun, and under the shade of a palm tree, by the side of the temple. He didn't mind sitting in the sand there.
"It is easy to be a naysayer for a war you did not want, yet, while it seems to be the most ... basic of instincts, it is more difficult to fight for what you wish to protect." He glanced at Feline, "As she gained followers, I needed my own. It was an escalation of power, and a necessary one."
