The Stranger had no such precautions; perhaps it was because the Spectre could not destroy him, perhaps it was because he had been in exile longer than time had been recorded, who truly knew? Strange shifted. "I... have a similar restriction, actually," he admitted, "If something is fated to happen, I can't... interfere. So depending on how this plays out, I'm not sure how much help I'll be." In other words, getting other people was a good idea.

Strange watched him go, then sighed and returned to his desk. Pretty damned depressing, all and all. The paperwork reappeared, and the next moment he was scribbling away again.

Strange appeared with a flash of light, still looking distinctly uncomfortable. Captain America... Well, at least they had him back. That was what mattered. Turning his attention to his guest, he hesitated. "Can I... get you anything?"

"I'm fine..." Alcina replied quietly after a brief pause. She didn't have an appitite or anything. All she really needed was for her powers to return and she'd be fine.

Strange hesitated, then nodded slowly. She didn't look fine, but it wasn't really any of his business, was it? "Alright. Please feel free to... erm... help yourself to anything in the refrigerator if you change your mind." His ears were burning. Dammit. Turning, he started back into his study.

"Thank you." she said after another small pause. She just stood there for a moment, not really feeling like moving just yet. Oh, she wanted her powers back. She wasn't used to this at all. She was born with powers, so this whole human thing...dealing with emotions...grief was it? She wasn't used to any of it. Once she had her powers back, she'd be in a fairly better mood. She'd at least be able to bury all of this until she felt like thinking about it again.
