Harlin's concentration was more or less ruined by Shef's audio announcement of his boredom. Or exhaustion, although that didn't seem quite likely, what with the revitalizing "mush" they'd been given.
Turning his attention back to the old man, Harlin voiced a question that had been growing on his mind for a short while. "Why would June know where this Malice is? And why would a Chaos Being want to tell us where he is?" If there was anything Harlin knew from mythology, the closest thing he could come to relate to this experience, it was that powerful beings didn't give something for nothing.
The six-year-old climbed onto Blake's back, hanging tightly onto his mane. "Go Blake," she said. "I want to play with someone."
The great lion crouched, then jumped, letting his wings push them off the ground with enough force to lift them higher into the sky. He didn't think it was particularly wise that little Erin wanted to play after a battle had obviously been fought - and lost for someone - but he wasn't going to argue. He loved Erin too much, like a doting uncle.
He circled around the group before diving with heart-stopping speed towards earth. Erin screamed delightedly on his back, thrilled with the adrenaline rush.
When he landed softly onto the Ether's soil, Erin climbed off, running a little in front of him, breathless with excitement. "Wanna play?" she asked, eyes bright.
Blake knew she was probably going to get ignored. After all, she was only a kid, and the group they had been watching had an unconscious man with them, injured by the smell of blood in the air.

Raziel smiled at this. He seemed to regard Harlin with a sense of almost respect, as if he found he could relate to Harlin somehow. But, of course, Raziel was much, much older than Harlin.
Because Raziel was no longer human.
"June wants, as much as anyone, to not be obliterated."
((June is pronounced [june-ay] with a French J as in Jacques, but I can't get accent marks on this computer. The e should have an accent over it.))

Sometimes, when I'm sitting in my bedroom...
All ALONE... in the DARK...
I sometimes look up at the stars and wish I was them.
All ALONE... but in plain SIGHT...
But then I think of something...
.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.((Ah, I see.)) Floreta blinked. "Um..." she blushed in embarrassment. "Excuse me, but..." she glanced between Harlin and Raziel. "Who exactly is this Chaos Being? Or, more rather, what exactly is a Chaos Being?" ----- Reign looked over in confusion at the girl, Calentine in her jaws as Alhiria swooped downwards. Sensing the boy was unconscious, she nonchalantly dropped him to the ground at her feet. "Sorry kid," she stated as Alhiria - her senses now regained - reached down and picked Calentine up by the shirt with her beak, turning around to head back to the temple so he could get medical treatment, her massive talons making the earth near her shake and quiver as she waddled away magestically. "You've picked a bad time. Come back later." The massive wolf glanced over at the lion, who was only bigger than her because of his wings. In bulk however, she ruled over him by quite possibly several hundred more pounds. That's what happened when you were an elder, after all. "In the meantime, I suppose you can make yourself at home." She turned to follow Alhiria, her back legs killing her. "Just don't stir up any trouble." .x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.
It's really strange, I think...
When they're up there...
They're all ALONE. In the DARK. But everyone can SEE them...
It's strange when I look up at them...
Because they kinda remind me of YOU.
"Look at the stars. Look at how they shine for you."

((Juné... I thought you were referring to the actual month, June, as in whoever this Chaos Being was actually was June. The month.
*rubs head*))
"B... But I want to play," Erin insisted softly, as if she were on the verge of tears.
Blake didn't move, didn't give away anything which, in itself, was suspicious. Although why, none would be able to guess. He knew, however, that Erin did not cry. Ever. She screamed.
((I'll send you a PM that explains how to accent letters.))

((I know. You use ALT + the right numpad. Laptops (most) don't have them, however.))
((And that is a very good idea, too. June/Juné whatever. Twelve Chaos Spirits... hm. You're brilliant.))

.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.Reign rolled her eyes. "Play with that brat Holly and her Guardian or something..." she muttered as she limped inside, getting inside when Alhiria could not. Though the doors were big, Alhiria was bigger, and she could only roost upon the tower and wait as Reign oversaw Calentine's medical treatment. The wound wasn't life-threatening - Reign had made sure not to bite completely through - but it was definitely bloody. Curling up in one corner of the huge room and watching the gypsies with only one eye, the great wolf thought about her Guarded. Falian... .x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.

((It makes me no difference.))
Raziel turned to Harlin. "I'm sure your teacher can explain it to you. But if you want to leave this island, I suggest you catch up with your young female friend...."

Erin followed Reign into the structure. "You don't like me?" she asked, her voice jumping about five octaves. Blake followed warily, trying to stifen a smile. Erin was so amusing to him, and her little antics didn't affect him much, being her Guardian.
Others, however...
Holly went back to the backpack and sat down beside it, unconsciously rubbing her recently healed hand with the other. She sent a questioning gaze up at Narissa.
"It's that boy's, Shef's," she hissed by way of explanation.
Holly didn't want to pry, but she was exhausted, confused, out in God-knows where - if there was a god in Ether, Holly didn't know which only added to her frustration - and above all... She was curious.
"Fine," she said, reaching for the backpack. She unzipped it and turned it upside down to find...

"Otherwise what you assume will become truth. Now I do believe this place is boring. Go outside and look for that other girl along with her brute of a snake-Guardian." She turned back to survey Calentine's medical treatment, ultimately dismissing the girl and her Guardian. .x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.

Harlin was slightly startled, although he tried to suppress it. He hadn't given away that he was the teacher, not obviously anyway. And he had never met Raziel before either. So how did the old man seemingly know so much about him?
Deciding not to waste his time wondering about it, he stood up, pushing in his chair and thanked the man for the meal. Turning to his students (those of who that had not left yet) he lightly motioned towards the door. He roughly shaked Shef, but wondered briefly if maybe the boy could be left on the island.
He decided he'd best explain the Chaos Spirits on the boat. Hopefully no one would fall asleep on that.
"I want to play NOOOOOOW!" Erin screamed. Small, almost unnoticeable cracks appeared in the structure, causing small puffs of dust to drift onto the floor. Her own ears, and those of her Guardian's, were protected. But others were not. Lucky for Reign her eardrums wouldn't be busted, unlike the result of Erin yelling at a normal human.
Finally, after thirty seconds that seemed like eternity with a banshee, Erin shut up. Everyone's ears would be ringing for quite some time - a good two hours at least. They'd have a hard time hearing anything, that was for sure.
But Erin was not affected by this, and she was six. How could she know?
"Play with me now?"
Holly was contemplating what to do with the melted chocolate when a splitting sound tore through her brain. She clamped both hands to her ears and bent low to the ground over her knees.
Narissa was also having a bad time of it. She writhed like a beheaded snake on the ground directly in front of Holly, her tongue flickering violently out of the giant snake's mouth.
Then it stopped.
"What... the hell?!" Holly shouted. But the words were garbled, and she couldn't hear herself at all.

.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.((I'm sure you are.)) Floreta immediately stood up as well. She bowed to Raziel. "Thank you very much," she told him before going over to Shef and lightly shaking him as well. "Come on Shef," she breathed as Marina leaped from the table and followed Harlin, now in her cat form. "Let's go. We're leaving now." ----- Alhiria jerked from her spot on the roof, not having gotten the worst of it as there were several layers of rock to dull the sound. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" She roared, flapping her wings in a frenzy, her feathers flying. ----- Reign snarled, getting up slowly. "You little punk..." she growled, turning to face the little child. A part of her screamed that it was simply just a spoiled little brat and that the spoiled little brat didn't KNOW any better. Screw that... she should know what her ******** voice can do, kid or not..."YOU." She glared heatedly at Blake, her head pounding and the pain in her legs doing nothing to improve her mood. And even then, her ******** Guardian should TELL her."Get your little baby-sitting job OUT of here," she threatened, her tail lashing. "Before I rip her head off. She has absolutely and completely overstayed her welcome. Get her out of ********. That could NOT be good for that kid on the bed. I hope the gypsies are okay. "NOW."Reign was NOT in a good mood at all. .x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.x.X.
