A single dark brow quirked at the comment of inventor, followed by a slight widening of those slanted eyes at the tirade the little Rosso beast cast heavenward. Struggling to contain a smile caused by, if nothing else, the raw emotion in the woman's voice, Asmyrra shook her head faintly, keeping her voice pitched to only carry to Ky.
"I have no idea how an inventor is going to be of any use to us... especially if she keeps carrying on like that," she said quietly, a hint of concern creeping into her purring accent. "We will definitely need to find something out, however. The loss of our supplies is especially worrying, considering how inconsistent the weather is going to grow the further north we travel..."

Urban Thorne Dragging herself to a seated position, those mismatched eyes glared absolute death at the beast Tali was so easily dismounting from, and the other woman sliding free of it. Well... maybe not so much death there, Eva looked like she was almost as sore as Domi was... Still. Stupid horse!! Casting her head back, the much abused Sky Captain let loose a stream of incredibly colourful, voraciously angry, incredibly complicated combination of whining and screeching commentary, most of it probably profanities, and all of it in some vague dialect of Elven.
Graphically describing exactly how horses were made, what kind of sick joke they were, and exactly what people who preferred them could have done to them. Posting for Tali till she gets either her account back or bothers to create a mule ; ; A beautiful roaring scream, of joy and sorrow so extreme...Tali is almost delighted by the chaos of the situation as it unfolds around her. Secretly whispered plottings at dark corner tables, bar room brawls, lock-picking her way to freedom, fleeing from soldiers by horseback..
This was more like it!
The gypsy maid found herself grinning from ear to ear as it became clear that they had successfully dodged their pursuers. As the sport came to a close and everyone reconvenes at the quiet pool, Talise finds herself sighing with contentment. Even the dull numbness of her maltreated bum, silently protesting Eva's horrible horsemanship, was but a mere triffle against her invigorated mood.
Who said one cannot enjoy themselves while accomplishing a duty?
The sudden string of vehemently impassioned grumbling brought her attention back to her companions. A blend of amusement and affection laces her features as Talise watches her beloved tinkerer cannonball her displeasure through verbal discourse up to the heavens. Unfortunately the moment passes all too soon, the recollection of why she sought her long time friend slipping back into memory. A grim determination gently gnaws away at her previous levity. She knows what she has to do.
Nimbly she slides from her saddle and wraps her fingers in the reigns, leading the weary beast to the waters edge and offerings of welcome refreshment. Giving the animal a few grateful scritches, she slips away to come up behind Domini's back.
Expert fingers weave through her friend's hair and begin massaging her neck, working her way down center to nape.
Softly, teasingly she whispers a response to the colourful suggestions of what exactly people can do with their devil horses..
"I'm not sure where we'd find a hot poker, but the dead fish could likely be arranged"
There is a love in me raging. A joyous, magical feeling...

Ky nodded agreeably. He glanced back at the diminutive young lady as she was approached by Tali. His eyes returned to Asmyrra, his tone equally hushed as her's. "Lady Anora has been vague as to the importance of her friend. It is almost as if there is some sort of wild secret to be kept. I feel that if our mission to to be successful then we must ascertain the reasoning behind this, as well as what Lady Rosso is able to bring to our party."
"In regards to our supplies...that is going to be troublesome. I do not know of any nearby town that is either lax or free of The Order's presence. Do you have a suggestion, Commander?"

The gentle fingers of her friend did manage to at least quiet the grumbling for a long moment or two, as Domini was certainly not immune to such bribery. Sadly, the Sky Captain had all kinds of things going on in her mind...
First and foremost; How the hell was she going to explain herself back at the tavern? It was the only place that made her "cocoa" correctly!
Letting her mind ponder such things for a long moment (read: enjoy the neck massage), the Sky Captain finally gave voice to her concerns, not bothering with the more common Elven dialect usually heard in the lowlands. Instead, the words quietly issued in her native tongue, one not usually heard this far from the deepest mountain ranges...
"...Squeee... They are soooooooooooo not going to let me back there... You know that, right?" This being asked with a single eye peeking open, and being aimed over a shoulder at Talise. "You better have a good reason for dumping me in this mess..."

Absently raising a hand to gently rub across her eyes wearily, Asmyrra considered Ky's words for several long moments. Details whirred behind her closed eyes, as she tried to recall the various nuances and details she encountered the last time she traveled these lands... And unfortunately came up with more questions than answers. Shaking her head, that softly purring accent emerged finally in response, touched with a hint of stressed weariness.
"I certainly hope this 'wild secret' is shared with us soon, Ky," she replied quietly, the hand sliding free of her features and a deep sigh escaping. "Because our supplies are going to be very problematic to replace. I know you and I both carry a small reserve of coin, but... From what I remember, the Dales definitely tend more towards barter for anything outside of an inn or tavern... At least the question of where our newest friend hales from is clearly answered, yes," she quipped quietly, a hint of amusement flickering back into her voice as she eyed Talise and her companion, partially drawn by the shift to such a very foreign dialect of the Fae tongue.
After a long moment or two of watching them, a thought seemed to cross her mind, those slanted eyes shifting back to Ky speculatively...
"...you wouldn't happen to be any good at hunting, would you," she teased faintly, slanted violet eyes giving him a sidelong look. "Because I know that I am not. It takes a great deal of effort to even make horses tolerate me..."

Ky rubbed the back of his neck nervously. So say he was even remotely adept with the bow would be stretching it. He had slain beast and man alike, but it was with his sword. He shook his head in response to Asmyrra's inquiry. "I cannot say that I am, Commander. The most I am capable of is the construction of rudimentary traps to catch small rodents and the like."

"You better have a good reason for dumping me in this mess..." A beautiful roaring scream, of joy and sorrow so extreme...As her adept fingers work their magic against Domini's skin, Talise mulls over the proper way to approach this with her eccentric and slightly skittish friend. Unfortunately she is not given long to simmer these thoughts.
"Oh, they'll let you back in," comes the teasing reply, easily switching to the mountain tongue, "How could they possibly resist the cute that is the Ipo-monster?"
Letting her hands slide down the small woman's spine, she commences her rubbing in those hard to reach center spots as she leans her body softly against Ipo's back.
"Besides," she murmurs confidently, "you and I both know that the owner is a curry fanatic. We pick up a proper vindaloo from the sand merchants and he'll be declaring you his long lost daughter or something.."
Her eyes flicker to the two warriors whispering near the horses. The woman looks tired and grim.. the young man beside her seems perplexed. They will want answers soon.
"In fact, we could hit the clans on our way back from Irrilaeth. Seafood vindaloos are even more rare," the words laced with the quiet promise of certain triumph, "We could snag a basket of king prawns. Old Erik would be eating out of your hands.."
There is a love in me raging. A joyous, magical feeling...

Minai chan "In fact, we could hit the clans on our way back from Irrilaeth. Seafood vindaloos are even more rare," the words laced with the quiet promise of certain triumph, "We could snag a basket of king prawns. Old Erik would be eating out of your hands.." It could be said the lull in her words was caused by tiredness... It could also be said that the lull was from her pondering Talise's words...
Let's be honest about it, though: Domini was very distracted by the massage and the closeness of the mocha-skinned Gypsy. Mismatched eyes had started to slide closed as Talise murmured to her, those angular features relaxing as she kinda savored the touch... Maybe she should ride horses more often, if this was the kind of attention she got... "Hrmm... vindalooooo...," was all she managed for several long moments.
Reality was evil, though... Almost as evil as horses. And strangers. And people who laughed at the Sky Captain. And the name of the city so casually slipped into the conversation that caused those mismatched eyes to pop open quite suddenly.
"Irrilaeth?!?! Why Tali want cap-- cap--- main city?!" Shock was prolly the reason she dropped back into the trade tongue as she half-turned, eyeing her friend in unhappy surprise. Talise knew why the Sky Captain never ventured towards one of the Kael'dorie cities. "Yoooouu... Already in trouble with-- with--... Innkeeper! Erik! Now you try, get Rosso arrested?! What you smoke?!?!"
...Yeah, that might have come out more gracefully, but... Squeee. Odds were low they would even leave her ship in one piece if they got their hands on her, whether they arrested her or not.

Resisting the urge to jump when Domini goes spastic, Tali gives her a brief moment, letting the initial rush subside before she reaches out to her little sky captain.
"Sshhh..," she coaxes soothingly, sapphire eyes darting between Ipo and the others not so far away... "We don't have to land in Irrilaeth. We could anchor down in the forests on the northern side of the mountains. They wouldn't even see us down in the capital."

Rikki Tikki Travi "I cannot say that I am, Commander. The most I am capable of is the construction of rudimentary traps to catch small rodents and the like." "A true pity, then... I may be able to extend what meager supplies we do have for a day or three, but... While the food will be edible, its taste will leave much to be desired," Asmyrra murmured quietly in response to his answer, that purring accent showing a mournful note as she contemplated the thought of facing the 'food' she could conjure.
The discussion came to a sharp pause though, as the murmured conversation between the two elves suddenly exploded into words clearly audible and translatable by even Ky. Violet eyes narrowed sharply as Asmyrra's mind picked one of the words out, the name of a city... and a thin hand seized Ky's sleeve as she leaned closer to hiss softly in his ear.
"Irrilaeth... That is the name of one of the capitol cities of the Kael'dorei, the mountain-dwelling Elves. And this inventor seems to not only know of it, but be alarmed by the mention of it..."

Ky tried his best not to make a face at the idea of eating conjured food, but he really couldn't help himself. He remembered the first and only time he was forced into a situation where he had to eat the stuff. His taste buds didn't function properly for almost a week, and what had come out of him was most unpleasant. He was soon snapped out of his memory by the sound of little Rosso's sudden outburst. This time he recognized the words she spoke, and they left him with a sense of unease. Ky nodded and turned his head to speak into Asmyrra's ear. "I think alarmed would be putting it subtly, Commander. She mentioned the possibility of arrest. I believe our little inventor may be an outlaw of some kind."

"Like hell we do," was near-screeched reply as the Sky Captain bolted to her feet, those mismatched eyes getting a slightly wild look as she stares in shock at her closest... well, only friend. "You know rule! Nooooooo mountain cities! Kael'dorei not very fo-- forgiving!! Domini screwed if ca-- caught!!"
Shaking her head firmly, Domini backed up a step or two, just kind of staring between her friend and the strangers arrayed around her, the gears behind those mismatched eyes starting to spin at hyper-speed. Who were these people... what kind of trap were they trying to land her in? And how did they get their hands on Talise? And why did they have the Cathedral people chasing them??

Asmyrra nodded as she released Ky's sleeve, slanted violet eyes narrowing faintly as she continued to watch the very vocal objections from Talise's friend. As the outburst continued, she shook her head softly, and once more pitched her voice to carry only to his ears. "Outlaw she may be, but... That does not say much. We are outlaws, after all," she replied, a thoughtful and troubled note clear in those softly purred words.
As she watched, however, the highly distressed woman started backing away from them, her body language clearly taking a turn towards fight or flight. As soon as that became apparent, Asmyrra raised her hands faintly, almost as if making a soothing motion... and indicating she had no weapon ready to threaten the distraught elf...

A beautiful roaring scream, of joy and sorrow so extreme...Talise's thoughts scrambled to regain control of the situation. Domini was dangerously close to bolting, leaving her and the small band of rebels up a certain creek without a certain rowing instrument.
"The Kael'dorei can be bypassed entirely. We can come in from the west and land in the forests just beyond the tower of the Kae'dryn. No one roams those parts. They wouldn't dare for fear of provoking her wrath!"
Stepping closer to her overly excitable friend, Talise attempts to close the gap between them. Domini had always been sensitive to physical proximity. The farther away the little tinker, the worse the gypsy's chances of selling her case.
"Besides, once we are there we could all consult the Kae'dryn together. Perhaps she could shed some light on the Beast. I haven't been following the creature's path in the mainland, but I'm sure they have." The last words accented with a slight gesture of her hand to the two onlookers standing by.

Under normal circumstances, Talise would be right in her guess that getting closer to the Sky Captain would help... But just as the wheels started turning, possibly considering her closest friend's words, one plus one added together to make crazy, and those mismatched eyes darted to the two soldiers.
"Ooooooooh, no. Nononononono. Passengers not part of cargo, es-- es--... grr... 'specially knights," came the quick declaration, those mismatched eyes flashing between Talise and her compatriots. Now the Sky Captain was certain they had some sort of hold over her... And the steely tightness about her eyes indicated that she was starting to debate something more drastic, possibly escape oriented. "Tali knows, no soldiers. No guards. No magi. No no no... NO."
Stepping forward quickly, the Rosso monster snatched Tali's hands in her own, her voice dropping to a harsh whisper, once more shifting to that mountain dialect that was so likely to not be understood. "How did they get you?? Did one of the towns call the soldiers on your family?! You know why you're the only passenger..."
