"Don't be ashamed, Miss Rebecca," Julianne said as she sat down and actually grabbed a plate of food. Picking up a fork, she added, "There's a lot of things I can do for women, too." Without any further elaboration, she took a bite of sourdough toast.

Rebecca's blush darkened a bit and she looked back towards Julianne. She wasn't sure why she felt surprised by that extra tidbit, but she was. The look Julianne had given her once she walked through the door should have been reason enough to suspect. And she did say that some women... joined in on their little routine. Perhaps she had just... put all of that out of her mind. Or just didn't want to think about it.
.... and now she was thinking about it.
Shaking her head sharply, she turned her attention back to her food. "Never really had much time or desire to... do anything out of the ordinary. Never had the situation come up where I'd have to either. Thankfully." she said, mumbling the last bit to herself. Heaven knows she could have been made to with all the debt that was owed. Cobblepot wasn't THAT sort of a man though. At least... not with the girls who were unwilling to do that kind of work.

"Well, time isn't an issue for you now, in any case," Julianne said, smiling in between bites of steak and eggs, "So if the desire to try it comes up, you know where to find me. I'd love to be your first."

Rebecca's blush darkened yet again, and she found herself at a loss for words. "I...er..." she began. She... really didn't know what to say to that. She kind of felt like retreating to the bathroom again, but there was really no call for that. " .... thank you?" was all she could think to say. Then she paused for a moment, thought of something, and blushed more.
"Does Vandal... probably a foolish question, but you said other women sometimes join you two. Does he... I mean... does he like that kind of..."

"He likes it, because it doesn't happen all the time," Julianne said matter-of-factly, "It wouldn't be special if it did. He used to come here every couple of months at the most frequent, for about a week at a time, and it wouldn't happen but maybe once each visit. I don't know if EVERY woman enjoyed it AS MUCH as we did, but I DO know that none of them didn't enjoy it AT ALL." She began flushing a little bit remembering some of those encounters; it was very clear that she REALLY enjoyed them.

"Oh. I... I see." Rebecca replied, turning her gaze awkwardly down towards her plate of food. She wasn't sure if she was more uncomfortable by the entire conversation (and Julianne's reaction to the topic) .... or if she was more curious. She had certainly never engaged in something like that, or watch it for that matter. One step at a time though... this was all quite a bit to take in.
She turned her attention back to eating her breakfast for a moment. Her expression was thoughtful as she ate. She had... quite a few questions floating around in her head, but wasn't sure how to go about asking them. Or if Julianne was even the best person to ask.

Julianne took another bite, then looked at Rebecca curiously. "Is there anything else, or could I have a turn asking a few questions, Miss Rebecca?" she asked, somewhat shyly; she didn't want to seem to forward, but Rebecca wasn't the only curious woman the room.

// Sorry, low battery earlier. //
Rebecca blinked and looked back up at her. "Oh, not at all." she replied, a little relieved to have the subject changed over to her. "I... do have other questions, but I think I've been asking long enough. What would you like to know?"'

"First of all, what are you trying to get out of life?" Julianne asked, suddenly very serious as she ate more of the food. "Or, more accurately, do you know what you want?"

Rebecca blinked. "I...." she began, then paused a moment to think. She smiled lightly to herself, then looked down at her plate. Poking what was left of her steak with her fork. "After this morning? No... I can't say I know what I want out of life now." she admitted.
"Before it had pretty much been to get out of debt and leave Gotham. My family had racked up quite a debt, and I had to help get us out of it. My older sister ran away some time ago. Part of me loathed the fact that she just left us like that... and part of me was wishing I could do the same thing. To get out of my poor excuse of an apartment and get out of this city. Not necessarily travel the world or anything... though that was a dream of mine. Just... just to move to some place sunnier than this City. Have a nice house, a good job, just... a happy life." she said, then looked back up at Julianne. "But... now it seems as though I don't have to worry about any of that anymore. There is no debt, I will be leaving Gotham... I... I really can't think of anything I want more right now. For years that was all I really wanted."

Julianne nodded thoughtfully. "That's an honest answer. I can accept that." Julianne smiled, cutting a little more steak. "It's funny, really. I was in that same place about six years ago, until Mr. Savage first stayed here. I was doing my best to earn a good tip, and flirting wasn't hard, since he IS incredibly good-looking. He flirted back, and was also giving me some great tips. Better tips than I'd ever gotten before, really." She became more thoughtful as she recounted, forgetting that she had wanted to ask more questions.
"When he... Heh, well, I guess the proper term is 'propositioned' me, originally, I was insulted. I thought he was treating me like a prostitute that he'd paid in advance with his tips. I literally told him that he wasn't going to buy his way into my skirt and walked out of the room on him. But, the next morning, I was still on-duty, so I had to go back up to his room. I gave him his breakfast and started to walk out, thinking that since I turned him down, I wasn't getting a tip. But, he stopped me, and gave me an even bigger tip than before, smiling the whole time. I was dumbfounded, and he certainly noticed, because he said that it was refreshing to have someone stand up to him, even if it was over a misunderstanding." Julianne laughed out loud. Hindsight had made this a happy memory.

”I take it that's when your “routine” began.” Rebecca asked with a small smile. She had to admit... she was finding it a little surprising that she was enjoying the other woman's company. After finding out about what she and Vandal usually did, she didn't think she'd be very comfortable conversing with her.
”He is rather easy to flirt with.” Rebecca admitted, glancing down at her plate again. ”I work...worked rather... at the Iceberg Lounge. Flirting and being charming is pretty much a job requirement. Vandal was quite a refreshing change of pace to the usual customers I had to wait on. Either their noses are too high in the air to notice me, or they can't help but stare or touch. Vandal was... charming. Gave me a little break from work to make me sit down and talk to him.” she said, then frowned a little. ”Normally I don't go home with any of my customers once my shift is done. I just try to earn my tip and move on. But there was just something about Vandal... I felt... comfortable with the idea of leaving with him. Its not often someone came in that was as good looking or as charming as him. Or as wealthy. I thought a one night stand with him would be a nice break from my dull nightly routine. Spoil myself a little... maybe earn an extra tip. With the debt that we owed... every little bit would have helped.”

"I had a friend that worked there. Said Cobblepot's a jerk," Julianne replied, once again becoming serious, no longer making eye contact. The reason for her demeanor was soon very clear. "It was one of the last things she said to me before she was found dead in her apartment. She was... Posed, with a man I'd seen her with before. He was also dead and posed. The murder weapon was never found. Same with the killer, but the police said the M.O. matched some guy named Sass or Zass or something. I don't really remember. I just know that I miss her she was a good woman. Sure, it also turned out that the two of them had been having sex at the time of death, and she was married to another guy, but still. She was my friend."
She raised her head, her eyes meeting Rebecca's again. "You're the first person I've really spoken to about it. Just... Just don't tell Mr. Savage. Please."

Rebecca had stopped eating what was left of her breakfast when Julianne told her about her friend. It was... a terrible story... and unfortunately not an entirely uncommon one for this city. A few of the girls who'd worked at the Lounge had gotten... caught in the crossfire of some kind. Usually it was from a jealous wife or simply being in the wrong side of someone gunning for Cobblepot.
"I...o-of course." Rebecca began. Not really sure what to say, or why the woman didn't want her to mention it to Vandal. "I won't mention anything to him. Doesn't really seem like a topic to just bring up anyway." she said, then grew quiet a moment. "I'm sorry... I can't say I know how you feel exactly, but I have lost people that are close to me. It's... it's hard. The pain never truly goes away... but it does get a little better week by week."
Then she looked thoughtfully down at her plate. "I... I don't remember hearing of something like that happening to any of the girls. Then again... quitting without a scene or getting killed isn't unheard of at the Lounge. If you're not in the loop with the girls who are higher-up on the totem pole... you don't really hear about why someone isn't seen at work anymore. And it's... really not uncommon for the girls to develop relationships with the customers. Working there makes it rather easy to spend time with someone... The hours can be a little spontaneous. If you don't come home all day or night, it can be assumed that you had to stay at work to help with a sudden business party or something of the sort."
Then she frowned as she continued to think about... well what the other "something of the sort" usually was. Then she sighed a little and leaned her head on her wrist. "The Lounge really isn't the place to work if you want to have a "normal" job or life. It looks like it's just a place for the wealthy to dine for a while... but I'm sure you've heard of some of the other kinds of people that visit there. It's easy to get caught in the crossfire of something. Easy to make Cobblepot angry. He's not one to refuse a wealthy customer."

"I'm not sure that's entirely true," Julianne replied slowly, "I think I remember Megan saying that he had some sort of 'no clowns' rule. Sounded to me like he'd turn down the Joker, even if he was the richest guy in the world."
