After lunch was over and everyone had returned to where they were supposed to be (except for Adanedhel, who had spent lunch at the ranch), Shiro and Ura sought out Adan and Lin in hopes of being able to go see the mountain with Aragost, as Lin had suggested earlier in the day.

"Lin," Shiro called out, tugging Ura along after him and hurrying after his aunt, "are you going to go find Aragost now?"

Ura hurried along after Shiro silently, his bright glowing eyes fixed on Lin.

Lin nodded at that, "Yea, I'm coming too," she replied, "Besides, I think he's kind of expecting us. So.... we better not keep him waiting, Shiro and Ura want to come too."

She had to add that since she didn't want them to be left out. Since normally no one else came with her.

Adan grinned. He had been introduced to his very very distant relations at lunch time, and he rather liked them. What he liked about Shiro was his intelligence and curiosity, and his willingness to try new things - Ura, he was still deciding about, considering that the infant did very little and said even less.

"Good," he nodded happily. "Then we can all go together. Come on, then, let's go!"

And he headed for the door.

Having no idea who Aragost was, Elnara was far from reassured, but she didn't make a point of it.

Shiro on the other hand was - though a little anxious about spending time in the dark man's company - excited for the trip.

"How far do you think we will end up going?" he asked Lin as they hurried after Adan.

"We should ask Ara-kun if he can take us up for a few days next week or something," Adan grinned. "Sleep up there and everything! I love it when we do that, we get to do so much more than when we only go for a part of a day or something."

He glanced over his shoulder at the other three, grinning widely.

Lin thought about it, she wasn't sure about Shiro but for herself...

"I'd like that," she told Adan, "I've never camped outside before, and I would like to try that."

For obvious in the future reasons of course, there were times that Lin made Triton look less single minded when he was young.

Shiro looked down at Ura, who looked back up at him, grinning. It seemed that even Ura was excited about the prospect - now if only Shiro were certain that the infant could take it.

"We'll see," he murmured, following after Adan quickly.

Adan took the steps two at a time and ran down the corridor to the door of Aragost's quarters, completely ignoring the darkness. There, he knocked and called out, "Ara-kun, will you take me and Lin and Shiro and Ura up to the mountain?"

After a brief moment, the door opened, and the tall man stepped out with the air of one who had expected them at precisely that moment.

"Of course, young Adanedhel," he murmured, his soft voice emanating from the depths of his cowl. "But we will not be able to go far today ... we must make it back before the rain tonight."

He nodded greetings to the other three, then closed his door and started past all of them down the hall once more.
