"Ah, you p***k!" Mike shouted, quickly fiddling with his hair once again. "I just got this the way I liked it!" With an annoyed grunt, the boy took off after his friend, almost tearing a Pokeball off of his strap. "You're so on!"
After practically smashing through the sliding doors of the Pokemon Center, Mike spun around on his heel to face Kilik, quickly running another neurotic and image-cautious hand through his hair. He took a short breath, regaining his composure and stood up straight. Holding up his Pokeball, Mike's eyes locked with his rival's, a small smirk appearing on his lips.
"Ready set?" He tossed his Pokeball out in front of him, releasing his Typhlosion.
"Bakfaaaaa!" Felsic let out a loud roar, beating his chest with his powerful arms. The Pokemon's fiery mane flared up in a tremendous explosion of heat, the grass around the Typhlosion turning black and charred, adding an even larger area of dead foliage to the spot in front of his trainer.

Kilik smirked as well, tossing Ludicolo's ball up and down. He looked up at the sky and noticed that a few clouds were starting to gather over the city. That would be just lovely for one purpose: to set up a Rain Dance easily and gain a strategic advantage over Mike's Fire-types. "Hey there, Felsic!" Kilik waved as he tossed his Pokeball forward.
The Care Free Pokemon burst forth, landing on his feet gracefully. He began to bob up and down with his eyes closed, seemingly ignoring the Typhlosion's existence. Ludicolo's hands moved to an unheard rhythm, a smile on his beak.
"Why don't we start things off, eh Ludi?" Kilik sliced the air with his arm, "This'll be a bit out of our Style, but I want you to start off with a Rain Dance!" Ludicolo stopped bouncing and opened his eyes, which were a bright blue color. "Luuuu..." he bellowed, and began to dance around in a circle. As one foot left the ground, the opposite arm would raise up. Every few seconds, the Pokemon would slap his stomach which made the very sky shake with thunder. In moments, clouds covered the sky and rain was pouring down onto the field. It felt so very good on Ludicolo's body. With a very quick motion, he put his hands to his sides and stopped dancing. The movements he took to make that stop were almost unnoticeable thanks to his high increase in Speed.
Kilik didn't seem to mind the rain, but it did make him sad that he would have to restyle his hair. "That's it, Ludi!" he laughed while clenching his fists.

"Ha!" laughed the boy as the rain began to fall on their battle. To be honest though, he was a little wary. Rain Dance was a severe strategic problem, and he hated it when his opponents used it against him. He must have caught how well it worked against me when we fought Archie. Smooth move Kilik. He thought, scratching his chin in contemplation. His Fire Pokemon wouldn't be able to perform at their peak performance when it was pouring like this. The boy let out an annoyed grunt as he realized he would have to fix his hair once again. "A little sprinkle won't stop us! Felsic, use your Flamethrower!" Mike shouted, snapping his fingers into a gun pose as he commanded his Pokemon to attack.
"Bakfah!" With a loud bark, the Typhlosion lifted both hands in the air, very unlike the typical Flamethrower technique. He smashed the ground with tremendous force, the ground beneath Kilik's Ludicolo immediately cracking open and erupting in a plume of lava.
"Woah!" Mike gasped. "That was wicked cool!" The boy shook his head sharply to throw some wet bangs out of his eyes. He must have just learned that. He mused, wondering what other tricks the Typhlosion had up his sleeve.

"Ludi, Tango Style!" Kilik barked. He looked over at Mike through the rain and smirked. Water streamed from his chin to the ground and his hair drooped in his eyes somewhat. Styles should keep Mike on his toes, he thought, but I've also got no idea what could happen sometimes. It's possible with a little more training, I can get the hang of the trick Koga taught me. The boy ran his hand through his hair, causing it to stand on end except for two strands that dangled in his eyes.
The movement was almost a complete blur. One moment, Ludicolo was about to be destroyed by a pillar of lava and in the moment it takes to draw a breath, he was already five feet away. Sure, the heat was intense but the cold rain helped somewhat. "Luuudi..." In normal speed the evasion would have looked like a spin on one foot, followed by a dip to the right, a tumble and a pose to his exact location. His eyes flashed again and the blank face turned into a smile. To the untrained eye, he looked totally unharmed. Yet upon closer inspection one would notice that his foot had slightly been caught in the blaze. Tango Style would need just a bit more work.
Okay, Ludi. Let's see whatcha got. Kilik thought, nodding. "Go for it! Remix Style, go!" Instead of the usual punch to the air or swipe of his hand, the boy rolled his shoulders back and let that momentum go all the way down his arm to his hand, which flipped upwards. A small pool of water collected in his palm. The Pokemon mimicked this motion almost exactly, also taking care to throw in his own dance moves. With a pop, a lock, and a drop, rain water began to collect even more into his sombrero than before. "Luuuudiii...COLO!" he snapped his beak shut and clapped his hands together. The water burst out of his hat and a tidal wave crashed against the ground, picking up speed towards Felsic.

A powered up Surf attack would be a real issue if it were to cause a direct hit. With that kind of a hit, it would only take a few to take Felsic down. It was time to do some improvisation. "Felsic!" Mike shouted. His voice was loud, but not panicked. "Use your Quick Attack, bash right through that wall of water!" Mike thrust his fist forward, taking out a few stray raindrops with his maneuver.
The Typhlosion didn't like the idea of charging headfirst into a tidal wave, but he figured his trainer knew what he was doing. Felsic kicked off of the wet ground and took off. Mike nimbly hopped out of the way to avoid being splattered with mud and clumps of grass. The Pokemon broke out into a run, white light trailing behind him as he ran straight for the rising wave. He closed his eyes and lowered his head, hitting the Surf attack at top speed. Like a knife Felsic shot right through, practically exploding from the other side. It hurt quite a bit, but it was much better than getting hit the normal way. Steam poured off of the Typhlosion's body as he tackled the Ludicolo, the speed of the attack hopefully catching his foe off guard.

The trainer's eyes widened and he clenched his teeth. "What?!" he growled, taking a slight step back. Definitely unexpected, he thought with a gulp, But more strategic than just standing there. Mike's good - real good. Then again, he knew that. No need trying to convince himself of Mike's skill level. Ludicolo didn't expect it, either. Right as he managed to calm down after unleashing his attack, he felt a sharp pain in his side coming from the head on Quick Attack. He stumbled slightly, but clenched his fists.
Kilik knew that he couldn't stop time, but if he could, he would. To take the chance to analyze his situation perfectly would be nice, but that luxury was not available to him. He looked around and suddenly an idea popped into his spiky head. Try this, hotshot. he thought with a smirk. "Ludicolo!" He snapped, "Grab a hold of Felsic as tightly as you can and use Giga Drain!" I know it won't do much, but maybe at such a close range and if Ludi can just hold on as tight as possible...
Ludi nodded and moved his hands in a flash. This Swift Swim thing was nice when he could use it to its fullest. Ludicolo's hands clamped around Felsic's wrists and gripped so tight that his arms were shaking. The pineapple's hands began to glow with a dim green light that would begin to brighten the more energy that was absorbed. "Ludicolo, Ludicolo, Ludi Ludi Ludicolo~" he sang tauntingly right in Felsic's face, bobbing up and down to his rhythm. Even his arms started to swing a bit to get the Typhlosion involved in his dance.

"Giga Drain?" Mike asked, utterly confused. What are you thinking Kilik? Oh well, at least he was nice enough to set him up for an attack. "Okay buddy, let's slap him around a bit with your special move!" He rarely had the opportunity to use this move, but he was glad he had it for situations like this.
Felsic's eyes narrowed to minimal slits of rage as he was grabbed and shaken by the ridiculous Pokemon. Each syllable the aquatic duck sang out caused a near visible vein to swell on his forehead. His disorientation only added to his churning feelings of anger. "Bakfaaa!" The Typhlosion screamed, pushing himself away from his foe. He was starting to get very angry. The Typhlosion's mane flared up as the Fire Pokemon reared his fist back, a bright white light enveloping his whole arm. Powered by the scarf tied to his arm, Felsic brought down his hand on the Ludicolo's face with a Crush Claw attack.

Kilik winced. That one definitely hurt and he could feel it too. However, he was pretty sure that it would take more than just one Crush Claw to make his Ludicolo fall. Add in the small amount of energy absorbed from the drain and you had a trainer who was very confident in his Pokemon's ability to survive.
The Pokemon stumbled back and clutched at his face. That really did hurt, a lot more than he ever expected. With a grimace on his face, the world could tell that this was one Ludicolo that meant business. Clenching his fists and readying up another breakdown, he heard the command for Remix style. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a few people beginning to slow down their steps to watch the fight as they walked by. With an impressive dance, another Surf came barreling down from his hat.

"Mankey, dodge that attack now! Meditite, Detect once more!" The mankey leaped up into the air, diving towards his left as the icy beam caught the end of his tail. He started stamping the ground violently as the tip of his tail was covered in a small block of ice, which by the sound was hurting the Mankey quite a bit. He beat his tail on the floor until it broke. As this happened, Ariados had dashed towards the meditite and was attacking her feverishly. Meditite however had closed her eyes once again and widened her focus, though this time it seemed like she was having a harder time doing it. regardless, the Detect was successful in allowing her to dodge the furious attack, countless jabs were thrown at her by Ariados's front legs and yet she simply ducked and weaved in between them to avoided any damage. To her mind's eye, each blow was slow and direct, she could see it no problem and was able to dodge each one with no effort other than the mental strain of detecting every attack.
Crenu was dumbstruck again, twice now that Meditite had evaded his every move! It was nothing short of impressive, it looked quite beautiful. Crenu would stop to admire it if it weren't being used to make a fool of him. But at least Ariados got in close, he was just hoping that Meditite wouldn't use Detect again. "Ariados, while it's still close, Night Shade! Hypnosis Poliwag!" Hypnosis was a gamble, but maybe this Mankey wouldn't be immune to it. Poliwag frowned as he tried to lock eyes with the Mankey. The spiral on his stomach appeared to spin around as he sent hypnotic suggestions into Mankeys head to lull him to sleep. Poliwag was still small, but so was the mankey. Ariados stabbed her legs into the ground as the dark shade shot outward at the meditite, it almost had a mind of its own as it tried to ensnare it's pray.

Kasiya had been a bit slow on the uptake, forgetting for a moment that she still had two more Pokemon she could call upon. Both the Machoke and Dodrio were now converging on Casimir, and her fingers fumbled upon the Pokeballs on her belt. She heard a growl from Levi, who had been standing beside her, and snapping back to reality, she grabbed the first Pokeball she touched and hurled it onto the field. Adamantine appeared, bashing her fists together as she studied her opponents. "Ada, give Casimir a hand," she told the Larvitar. "Rock Slide, now!"
Grinning, the Larvitar thrust her hands into the earth, tearing up a large portion of it. She then hurled it into the air, and seemingly on her whim it broke apart into large chunks before raining down on top of the two opposing Pokemon. The Dodrio let out a shriek as many of the rocks managed to strike it, but it was still more experienced than Ada, so it had some fighting power left in it. The Machoke became preoccupied by smashing the oncoming rocks with his fists, managing to avoid being hit by a single one. Beaming proudly, the Machoke let out a roar, glaring at the smaller Larvitar before it. It didn't notice, however, as Casimir had came charging towards him, swinging that nasty, curved horn with all his might. The Absol left a large, diagonal cut across the Machoke's muscular abdomen, and it doubled over in pain, clutching at its wound with both hands. The Absol came to stand next to Ada, looking down at the younger Pokemon with a bit of respect - the little one definitely would be powerful when she got older.

Early the next morning Mitsu awoke. Sunlight streamed from the window in her small bedroom. Somehow she'd been blessed with the luck of finding a single un unoccupied bedroom in the crowded Pokemon Center. Many trainers were spending the night there as well as they eagerly awaited the upcoming Beach Party. Early arrivals such as herself.
After freshening up and a small breakfast Mitsu was ready to go. . .go do whatever it is she was going to do. She didn't really have any ideas so she sat back in her bed for a short while. Thinking, always thinking as it had been lately. And unoccupied thinking always led to bad emotions. As she sat there she could feel her heart grow heavier and heavier with each passing second. She breathed slowly as small tears began to seep through the corner of her eyes. "No. . ." she whispered as she held her right hand to her heart tightly. A small pink orb began to form as she gasped for breath slightly. The pain was worse now and as the pink orb made it half way out, well, that was all she managed. The glowing aura fell back into her and the pain felt doubled, if pain could be measured anyways.
She hastily wiped the tears from her eyes quickly before heading to the bathroom and washed her face off. As she made it back outside she looked as good as normal. Even her closest friends would have a hard time telling anything was wrong. She smiled as she stepped outside and held Ivy's Pokeball in her hand. "Hey buddy, when will you evolve?" she questioned rolling the miniture Pokeball in her palm. "When will you change, when will I change, and when will the world change?"

"Don't let them make fools of you!" Nameless Trainer growled, stomping his foot on the ground. "You're better than this, now prove it!" He slashed the air with his hand, which prompted the Dodrio to run towards Ada, its three heads bobbing dangerously as they attempted to land a Fury Attack on the small Larvitar. Ada let out a screech and covered her eyes with her hands, only to find that each hit seemed to glance off her stony hide. Opening her eyes wide, she let out a cry and thrust her fists forward, each glowing with a white light as she landed a solid Brick Break to the bird's belly, hitting the same spot Digger had only moments ago. The bird gave an agonized groan before it fell forward, three pairs of eyes glaring at Ada before it was recalled. Nameless Trainer seemed to be talking to himself as he hastily grabbed a Safari Ball from his belt and hurled it on the ground by his feet. "Don't let me down! Use Twister, now!"
Kasiya groaned upon seeing the sleek, gorgeous Dragonair enter the battlefield; she was truly tired of fighting these things. The dragon flew up into the air gracefully before spinning around, causing a small tornado to form in its wake. The twister picked up bits of dirt and debris from nearby, and soon it engulfed both Casimir and Ada. "Hang in there, you guys!" Kasiya shouted, hoping her voice could be heard over the howling winds. "Casimir, take out that Machoke with your Aerial Ace! Ada, attack Dragonair with your Ancientpower!" Giving a low growl, Casimir tore through the twister, trying to act like it hadn't hurt him. Still growling fiercely, he slashed the air with his horn, sending another blast of curved, white energy towards the Machoke, who could do nothing to avoid it. It slammed into his chest, knocking him over backwards and rendering him unable to get back up again.
Meanwhile, Ada was hesitating a bit before following Casimir, but soon she too jumped through the vortex and stomped her foot on the ground, causing some of the rocky debris she'd caused from her earlier attack to lift as though controlled by a Psychic Pokemon, then get hurled towards the Dragonair, who'd just stopped spinning in time to receive a face-full of rock. Giving a cheer, Ada stomped her feet again as her body shimmered, signaling that her stats had been boosted as an aftereffect of her Ancientpower.

Serenity put the mudkip down on the ground beside her and serched through her bag for the map of the region she knew that Alex had packed. After several of the contents in the bag spilled out onto the ground, Sere found the folded and wrinkled map at the very bottom of the bag. She opened it up and began looking at the different markings that were one it from when it was her sister's map. George on the other hand had gone around and collected all of the things that had fallen out of his trainer's bag and placed them in a nice pile so that they could be put back there when ever she was ready to get moving.
"Says here that we need to be going up route 102 to get to the gym we want. Or well that's where we start anyway." She mumbled. George had the feeling that she might have been talking to him, but she never directed it towards him. "Ready to go George?" Sere smiled down at the little blue pokemon next to her.
"Kip Kip!!" George said. He was ready to get started. He was excited at the thought of growing stronger and at the thought of earning some of those badges the other pokemon in the house had talked about.
"Alright then, lets go." Sere said. She started walking towards the east exit of the city when George remembered her pile of stuff was still sitting on the ground. He quickly ran up to his trainer and tugged on her socks to get her to turn around. "What is it?? OH! Goodness. Thank you George." The trainer bent down and collected all of the things that the mudkip had gathered on the ground and haphazardly tossed them in her bag. This time the two of them were off.

Keegan had been saying hello to a rather awake Mori when the sounds of a nearby battle caused both trainer and Ponyta to nearly jump a mile. With Mori at his heels, Keegan wandered towards the fence, leaning against it and looking out at the nearby street. Lo and behold, he spotted Kasiya busy battling with a tall, dark-haired boy. He watched as her Absol came barrelling out of the Dragonair's Twister attack and launch an Aerial Ace at what turned out to be a Machoke, silently applauding as the fighting type fell. "Battles follow her wherever she goes," he said quietly, subconsciously patting the Ponyta's head. Mori gave a whinny and trotted away, seemingly interested in something. "Hmm?" Keegan turned to see where she was going, catching sight of Helios coming towards him. "Have a nice reunion?" he asked as the Vulpix hopped up onto his shoulder, and the duo crossed the grounds, following the young pony. A shadowy figure rose up in the distance, slowly becoming clearer as they approached it. Keegan grinned, waving at the large Pokemon when she spotted them. She took a step forward, her long, flaming tail flickering slightly in the cool evening breeze, and stretched her wings, looking down at the boy and the Vulpix with a curious gaze.
"Say Helios," he said, chuckling a bit as the Charizard reached out and ruffled his hair in a friendly manner, "you remember Mike, eh?" he asked, putting his hands on his hips and looking up at the large dragon. "Well, you see this lovely lady here? She's Nitro's mama." The female Charizard let out a grunt, small wisps of smoke escaping her nostrils as she nodded. "And your boy is doing quite well, if I might add," he said, as though to reassure her. At those words, the Charizard straightened up, a faraway yet proud look in her eyes. "Next time I see 'em I'll tell them to get their butts over here to visit you, eh?" She nodded vigorously, causing more smoke to drift upwards. The redhead glanced towards the street, where the sounds of Kasiya's battle could still be heard. "Now down to business," he said with a smirk, beckoning for the Charizard to follow him. "I have this friend, and she's expressed plenty of interest in raising a Charmander of her own, you see," he explained, stopping at the fence once again. "She's also a good friend of Mike's, and a great trainer at that." The Charizard nodded along, running a long, clawed finger over her chin as she watched the girl battle, already knowing where this conversation was going. The two continued to chat, or rather, Keegan spoke while the Charizard would nod or grunt in reply. As the two reached an understanding, Keegan held out his hand and the Charizard shook it, still glancing towards the blonde-haired trainer in the distance. "You're wonderful," Keegan said, before bidding the fire type goodnight and heading back inside.
He knew his parents wouldn't like this, as when he'd grabbed the Torchic egg for Jaeshan he was warned that he couldn't just go handing out Pokemon eggs like candy to all his friends. I know it'll make her happy though, he thought, closing the door behind him as he slipped off his sandals. Maybe mom and dad will just have to sit in on the gym match tomorrow, then they'll understand. Yeah. Helios was still up on his shoulder as he made his way upstairs, where he made a makeshift bed on the floor for him to lie on, while also making sure the bed was turned down and ready for Kasiya when (and if) she decided to sleep tonight. He pulled his shirt over his head and tossed it in the laundry pile before lying back on the blankets, looking up at the ceiling. Helios had refused to give up the bed, however, and was curled up on a pillow near the head of the bed. It soon became apparent that Keegan was still too riled up over the days' events to sleep, so after a few minutes of tossing and turning he turned on a lamp and pulled a book off of the shelf to read for a while, hoping it would help calm him.

Kasiya felt a sense of satisfaction as Casimir brought down the Machoke, hands on her hips as she smiled at the Nameless Trainer. He didn't say anything, just recalled the Machoke before hurling an Ultra Ball onto the field, revealing his final Pokemon for the match, his Crawdaunt. Both Casimir and Kasiya groaned inwardly at the sight of it, although the hairs on Casimir's body began to bristle as he glared at the Water-type before him. He took a step forward, eager to attack, but hesitated, looking towards Ada. The Larvitar and Dragonair seemed to be preoccupied with each other, so the Absol set his sights on the overgrown crab and charged forward, slashing downwards with his curved horn. This proved to be a bad idea, even as Casimir delivered a solid Slash attack, the Crawdaunt was quick to counter with a large claw, smacking the Absol in the side with a mighty Crabhammer attack. The sheer power of the hit sent Casimir tumbling to the side, and he now seemed to be struggling to get up. His crimson eyes were narrowed into hateful slits as he growled at his opponent, refusing to give up.
The Dragonair, meanwhile, had decided it didn't like the Larvitar throwing rocks at it so it glided forward, quickly wrapping up the small Rock-type in a tight Wrap attack. Ada let out a shrill squeal, as even her thick hide didn't stop her from being squeezed and crushed by the dragon's coils. "Ada, don't cry!" Kasiya called, sighing a little. The Larvitar still acted like a baby sometimes, which made it hard to take her seriously even when she was trying to be. "Use Bite!" she called. "You're not a baby anymore! Show that dragon just how tough you really are!" Ada seemed to ponder her trainer's words for a moment before opening her mouth wide and chomping down hard on the dragon's body. It was hard to miss, seeing as there were some ten feet or so of coils to choose from. The Dragonair let out a pained cry and almost immediately let Ada go, the only downside being that it flew up, managing to drop Ada hard to the ground in the process.
