"Last night might as well be today, as far as my father is concerned," Earendil shrugged apologetically. "For him, when my aunt is here it's a reason to be foul and disagreeable. He ... really doesn't like her."
"His loss," Daeron muttered darkly, stabbing at his food.

"Maybe..." Lore murmured as he watched Slivrendir run off.
He looked down at Idhril.
"Would you like to join him?"

Lin looked at Daeron's food, it was a good thing it wasn't still alive, she blinked at that thought.
"Maybe he needs sweetening too," Lin murmured thoughtfully, "You should put sugar in his food."

Idhril shook her head and made herself comfortable in Lore's arms again. "No, I can't get up on the table by myself anyways," she replied softly. "Silver dear flies up by himself, though, so it's okay for him."
And indeed, that was exactly what Silvrendir did. He ran into the Dining Hall at full speed and, without slowing down, spread his wings and flew up to the table top, where he folded his wings again and took a seat next to his Uncle Mikhail.
Elnara laughed softly and led Lore into the Dining Hall. "Just don't fall asleep again," she murmured; then, looking up at everyone who had gathered there, she said brightly, "Good morning."

"Good morning," Luthien said brightly, followed by each of the others.
Mikhail grinned at Silvrendir and started chatting with him.
Earendil waved to his aunt, then looked back down at Lin, grinning with amusement.
"As good as that sounds when you say it," he told her, chuckling softly, "all the sugar in the world couldn't help my father. He's just a grump, and that's all there is to it."
He didn't want to disillusion her about the idea, though, despite the fact that he knew it was completely illogical.

"Aww..." Lin pouted slightly it was such a good idea too, because it always worked on her Daddy, the thought made her brighten up, "Hey! That means Daddy isn't the most grumpy person ever."
Since Donovan was considered next to Yue the most grumpy person ever, and if sugar could not help then that person had to be far, far, far, far grumpier than her Daddy.

"Good morning," Lore greeted the other people there.
He was relieved to see that Ruel was no there, it would do no good to have a fight this early in the morning. Or at any time of day for that matter he thought as he set Idhril down on the table.

Idhril scooted over to join Silvrendir beside their uncle, and Elnara took the seat across from him. She nudged the chair next to her away from the table for Lore to sit as well. She looked at Lin thoughtfully, her eyes dancing with amusement.
"So you're the one who gave Idhril the idea of sweetening someone like that?" she laughed. "I was wondering."

Earendil looked over at Lore and Elnara. "So you've heard of this, also?" he laughed.
He couldn't say much about Lin's comment about her father, he had only met the man once or twice, and very briefly at that. He really didn't know much about the man at all.

"What?" Lin asked not understanding what was so funny, "It works on Daddy all the type when Mommy does it," she blinked up at Elnara innocently.
Granted she never saw beyond the whole giving sugar part, one of her older siblings caught her and dragged her away. She didn't really understand why, but Yukito said she would understand when she got a mate one day. Lin personally didn't want a mate, but to be fair she didn't know many boys outside her family, and the ones she did know... she didn't have a high opinon of.
Boys were icky at that age after all.
Except the older ones, like Dart, or Jaseth, Earendil and Shi.
They were just cool.... except Jaseth, Jaseth was sweet.

Lore chuckled with amusement as he took a seat beside Elnara, "Idhril gave Storm her cookie once, saying that he needed it more than she did. I never did understand where she got the literal meaning of sweetening from."

Elnara laughed at Lin and resisted the urge to ruffle Lin's hair (of course the fact that she was too far away helped).
"Your Mommy and Daddy are special," she told her with a grin. "I'm not certain that sweetening would really work for anyone else ... with the possible exception of Storm."
Though she was certain that it had only worked because he had been so delighted to get an extra cookie.
Idhril giggled and looked up at Elnara. "Storm was lots sweeter after that!" she announced proudly. "So it did work!"

Luthien and Tinuviel rose together and made as if to leave.
"Excuse us," Luthien smiled apologetically to the others. "We'll see you all later."
And with that, they were gone.
"Tinuviel's still in lessons," Earendil explained after they had gone, "so she's off to see Sir Valdemar." He looked at Lin. "I know I promised we could go see him, too, but we'll have to wait until after lunch, when Tinuviel is finished her lessons."

"Awww...." Lin murmured but knew that Tinuviel had to go to lessons, and to be fair she was probably younger than Earendil which meant she had to have lessons.
Which meant she was going to have to find something to do, until after lunch.
"Then...." Lin murmured, "What should we do then?"
