Natalia sighed and headed up to her room to take a shower. Normally she only groomed herself twice a day, not counting spot fixes, but after going to the temple she felt like she needed one. It was the next best way to relive stress after fixing/building something and she didn't feel like doing that at the moment. Her mood was not accommodating when it came to prolonged periods of concentration. "I'll be back in a bit." She said as she reached the door and kept walking. Since she'd altered the security system to accommodate Bobs presence she didn't worry about him accidentally setting it off. Even if he managed the feat the worst that could happen would he'd end up stunned for a couple minutes or set off one of the more annoying sirens.

Bob nodded absentmindedly, waving to Natalia, and said " have fun with that...." before continuing with his toyings. By the time Natalia was done with her shower, Bob had finished his preliminary testing, and was ready to begin fiddling in full. he started by looking over the blueprints he had written up on his datapad, then began removing parts, seemingly at random, from the handle. After removing each piece, he checked to see if the blade still functioned, then put the piece back and removed a different piece, each time carefully mentally calculating weather or not it would explode if a certain piece were removed or not....

Natalia came back down in fresh work clothes and watched bob work for a little while. She honestly wanted nothing to do with Jedi if she could help it but it wasn't long before her fingers started to tingle in a familiar way. The saying went that curiosity killed certain animal but in truth it was more appropriately 'curiosity killed the engineer' then anything else. "Is there anything I can do?" She asked when he paused for a moment so she wouldn't cause him to damage anything even if she surprised him.

Pausing for a few moments, Bob thought, then replied, " I dunno....how about we split this puppy in two and test each half seperately? if it's made well it shouldnt blow up....and if not, well, no one will hear our screams...."

Bob tilted his head, then scratched his cheek for a few moments while replying with, " oh...yea, I guess that does make more sense....one moment then..." After realizing that Natalia's idea was, by far, the safer route, Bob searched around in his pockets for a blank datachip, and upon finding one, he inserted it into his datapad and copied the file over. After this was done he handed the datachip to Natalia and said, " good luck, and if you need help with something don't hesitate to ask."

"Thanks, I've wanted one of these for a while." She said with a smile then headed back to her workshop. Once she made a proto type she could start playing with its design. She wasn't one to screw around with something solely using blueprints. That had cost some of her acquaintances fingers when parts failed to live up to projected expectations.

After Natalia left him, Bob went into a trance (for lack of a better word) his movements became faster, his hands working with more precision, and his thoughts were becoming clearer faster. He worked like a man possessed, removing the emitter matrix, focusing crystals, and lens assembly. After a grueling 6 hours of working like this, Bob finishes his modifications to the lens assembly, after another 4 hours, he completes his reassembly and modification of the emitter matrix. After doing these, Bob turns to the two focusing crystals. with two....what can I do? normally they are used one or another at a time...perhaps if I have them working in harmony they will do what must be done....I...can feel the crystals....they...have a strangeness to them...perhaps it would be best to ask one of these 'masters' before going any further...no. They would look at what I have done already with suspicion...only that silver one would even consider giving me real advice....and he seems like more of a fighter than a mechanic...this could be over his head, or so far below it that he would scoff. I get the feeling that this must be something I accomplish on my own....oh well....if it explodes I'll only be losing a hand or arm....and those can always be replaced....still...it would be best to get it right....oh of course! I can try, and before activating it, I can get one of them to check my work....yes...wait....if I can get Natalia to help me with this...well, I think it would make things easier...
After coming to this conclusion, Bob gets up, then falls over, his constant, yet subconcious use of the force taxing him far more than he knew.
((FYI, he's unconcious/asleep, not dead.))

Natalia worked slowly, for her anyway, carefully assembling the parts as laid out by the blueprints. Normally she felt a sort of connection to her projects but with this one the feeling was magnified. About midway she had to stop though, she didn't have the necessary crystals and some of the lens assembly parts. Those would have to be ordered before she could continue. Natalia stood up and was surprised by the stiff soreness in her body. She thought she had only been working for an hour or two but looking at her chronometer told her otherwise. She had been working for nearly six without pause, not an unusual event for her but normally she knew how much time had passed even if she didn't register it consciously. "Odd..." She muttered, knowing it wasn't her watches error. She had serviced it recently and it had been in working order. Stretching to alleviate her abused bodys aches she decided to take a nap. Despite not really having done anything she was tired already. Chalking it up to a side effect of the adrenalin rush caused by the fight earlier she headed to her room and was out like a light the moment her head touched the pillow.
Natalia woke with a start, realizing what she had intended to be a nap had turned into nearly a full nights worth of sleep. "Ugh..." She got up and stretched again and was pleased to find that she felt fine. Pulling her shoes back on she headed downstairs to see how Bob was doing. She was half way expecting him to be playing with his modified saber when she walked in. Seeing him lying on the floor inert was like a fist in the stomach. Without thinking she was on her knees kneeling over him and checking for a pulse before her mind could catch up with what her body was doing. She sighed with relief when she found a strong and steady one and. Gently she checked him for injuries and once she didn't find any obvious one she calmed down significantly. Taking what remained of her panic in hand she went into the hall and grabbed one of the wall mounted med kits she had stashed through out the building next to the fire extinguishers. After checking him thoroughly a second time for injuries and finding none she relaxed completely. "Bob, wake up please." She said as she tapped him lightly on the shoulder. It was the gentlest way she knew how to wake someone up.

Stirring a bit, Bob mumbles out some incoherent words that sound something along the lines of 'mraaaaahgfragle'. After another minute or so of the gentle nudging, Bob's eyes crack open, and he looks at Natalia, " when did I get to heaven.....wait....I don't remember dying...."
After a few more moments in this stupor, Bob slaps himself on the forehead and sits up immediately, his eyes snapping open. As he speaks he looks around, " oh man....how long was I out? ....is that a medkit? are you okay Natalia?" After saying this, Bob leans over and places his forehead against hers, " no fever....hmmm...". He then procceds to check himself for injury, " was I hurt....or....were you trying to sell my organs?"

Natalia pulled back form Bob, blushing slightly. She was getting used to him touching her but it was a little much. She straightened her jump suit which didn't need it to give herself a moment to calm down fully. "Human kidneys are a delicacy in certain restaurants." She said dryly, finally relaxed enough to be slightly irritated. "Do you fell alright though? I found you unconscious on the floor. Your scans are good but tell me if you don't feel well." A little concern colored her voice and the link was full of it. She was never particularly expressive with emotions but she did feel them.

Bob simply chuckled, " ahhh, apparently we both need to work on humor....which reminds me, I was going to ask you for assistance with the focusing crystals...since I need two crystals to work in harmony for the uh....modification to work right, I figured that we could use our link to meditate on the things and get them to harmonize....then again, if I'm wrong they'll probably explode gloriously...." Through the link, Natalia could feel a hint of humor in the explosion remark, along with a good deal of real danger.

Natalia did something that was rare for her, she leaned forward and gave Bob a hug. "Your a complete idiot." She muttered, angry and relived at the same time. If he could make suggestions that would likely get both of them blown to bits then he was probably right as rain.

Bob smiled and returned the hug, that is, before he reached up and gave Natalia a noogie, saying, " this is nice and all, but that doesnt really answer my question now does it?"
After saying this, Bob laughed and prepared for the end of his life.

"Yah, I'll help you as much as I can." She said, rubbing the top of her head and trying to smooth her hair. No one had ever done that to her before so she was a little confused about the gesture but didn't let it bother her.
