I'll take that double dog bacon-wrapped combo with a side of the mashed potatoes and pot roast and half a double deckin' burger and have Jilly for dessert.

I guarantee there are real fantasy RPers and RPs present here. Maybe not in the threads--perhaps in the Guilds, where the individuals Phantom described cannot so easily roam.
I used to think Gaia was complete crap. A bunch of preteen kids who fancied themselves to have no imagination as they took on the typical neko-jin stance. But I found the Guild of Gaian Fighters with Naomi, Ulta, Toma, ImNoHero, Alabaster and Jilly. Faith was restored!
I've found my niche in a few areas. There's no reason to believe you wont as well.

Or, you could choose to dedicate your life to hunting down noobs in real, teach them a lesson, and clean up Gaia one at a time.
You will be known as...TheGaianAvenger

That sounds more infuriating than anything. Since the noobs generally don't take any criticism to heart...and reading their posts is already a tedious task.
But I suppose you could root out the good ones.
@Raven: I don't know if you can handle me in your mouth. I'm sinfully sweet with a silky smooth texture. JUST THINK OF THE CARBS.

I have a metabolism that puts the fear of God in carbs. They don't stand a chance against me.
I am, however, willing to negotiate with complex carbohydrates as they give me ENEERRGGGGYYY. emotion_dowant

I could make it a guild, but then you have the challenge of trying to recruit....something i was never good at.

Well, the thing is that if you start a guild you should at least have a couple of people that are not only used to recruiting, but willing to help out. Or have the time to do so, for that matter.
Most people aren't willing to be the 'starter' people, which is hilarious because later on they complain that they can't get in on the action because the RP has been 'going on for too long, mannn'
Usually having a couple of people to work with you allows for you to get a good base going, makes people feel as though they're jumping into the middle ground(usually preferred? I think because the action is already rolling) which in the end makes recruiting much easier. It's not perfect, though. Most of the time recruiting is a huge time miss, and very few fruits from the labor.
Essentially what stinks is that to get a guild really going, you need to establish a rep with people, and without them actually really caring..due to say, lack of rep, it's nearly impossible to earn one. It's a big huge bag of mix and match and fat chance. HOWEVER, someone with experience can always change the tides to the better.

Or you can simply be one of those people who copy and pastes an invitation - sending it to 100's if not 1000's of people, and if you get 5-10% to join...there ya go. xP

People must not realize that they will be judged on some level based on their ability to RP. Sloppy s**t leads me to believe you're lazy and lack imagination to carry out being a part of the storyline. Check your s**t before you post it. It's an annoyance to read a mistake every other line. If you want any respect as an RPer, at least, AT LEAST take the time to appear literate. JUST. You know? Slow your roll? Take a gander at what you type and ask yourself if your Grammar teacher would b***h smack the s**t out of you or give you an A+.

If that was aimed at me, I run everything through a word processor up front, especially since other than spelling i have some hard to fix issues with grammar.
After that, everything gets proofread by my coauthor at least for the rps that i make. Anything missed after that is a wash unfortunately.
